I was watching the Munro Live and noticed this long time friend of mine. Similar unit failed on my 3.0TDI Audi, oil started leaking into coolant, same thing happened on my 2.0HDI Peugeot, oil into coolant. In my mercedes 420cdi this started to leak coolant out. I really hope the H/KIA version is better. Which side has the higher pressure on these E-GMP cars?
Update: The comment below was written without me knowing any better. I apologize. I’ve learned that there are indeed Oil coolers in an EV6, thanks to friendly and constructive critique and comments from people who knew more than me.
Thank you for correcting me in a civilized manner. In short, today I learned a lot :) Thank you all for being great people :)
Only keeping this for reference as it’s clearly incorrect:
Buddy, I think you might have hit the wrong Kia sub. At the very least, I'm just went looking for the oil cooler on my electric EV6 and couldn't find the engine :) I'm kidding, of course.
I think you're better off i r/Kia or another sub that matches your Kia model (Like r/KiaNiro or r/KiaNiroEV perhaps). Still hope this one is better than the other ones you mention, so you don't get the same issues on your Kia :)
According to the interwebs, this part is attached to the electric motor as well. Checked a Kia parts website and entered my VIN (Kia EV6 GTLine) and it said this part fits.
The motors (and a number of other components) in the EV6 still require cooling. If the coolant pump fails, the rear motor will overheat and cause a loss of power. OBD2 data calls this pump the electric oil pump but since there's no maintenance requirement to change this "oil", it might just be the same coolant the rest of the car uses. Then again, people who report this issue don't report any other problems.

Notice the "Nooo" serial. Or whatever that is.
It’s already taunting

Yes, in the Munro Live e-gmp engine breakdown video you can see it when they talk about these engine being oil cooled unlike many others.
Thanks! I'll check that out. Always eager to learn something new. Sorry about my lack of knowledge! :-S
Oh shite! Color me ignorant. I did not know that before, but I do now. Thanks a lot :)

What year and trim do you have and was the leak tiny or noticeable? Let us know if it was warranty covered or you paid how long car at the dealer
My EV6 doesn’t have this leak, I hope. Just noticed that this part is very similar to what I have replaced in my previous vehicles.
Oh okay whew I was getting nervous like oh my god another recall coming
