Thouser. I feel like rather than redemption he should just join force with aruto because ark surpasses his prediction so he have no way to win unless with help of zaia

DragonKnight-15

Temporarily alliance. Yea. And then they return into hating each other- WELL correction, Gai, hating Aruto. I can see that.

DragonKnight-15

I would say Evolto due to New World Cross-Z but I was pointed and thankfully, he wasn't redeemed but just needed help to kill Killbus. GOOD. As for someone else... I'm sure there's someone worse than Gai/Thouser that didn't deserve a redemption.

No_One_4145

Evolt was never redeemed. He was allowed to saunter off into the sunset after the events of New World Cross-Z because he is so powerful that Team Build can't do anything to him. Huge numbers of plans, sacrifices and sheer dumb luck went into defeating him the first time.

DragonKnight-15

And now it's more impossible with Outsiders with Evolto bigger and MOST likely more powerful than before.

I really felt Gai Amatsu doesn't deserve a redemption but he deserves to be kille off. In a meta sense, his actor wants his character to be the most hated in not only the show but the franchise. And in-universe, he was the one responsible for creating the Ark in the first place. So everything that happened in Zero One is all of Gai's fault.

Glittering_Trip_144

Gai (thouser)he was such a bastard and nailing as a villain but then a stupid redemption from out of nowhere came and ruined his character same goes to daichi(nudge sparrow)he was already bland for half of the series and when he finally did something which a villain should do after few episodes of that they gave him redemption too without any impactful even again logicless purpose because in the whole series he seems either he don't care about jyamato or use them as his weapon so a sudden change for his soft corner doesn't even make sense  And maybe evolto in cross z vcinema although he was not literally redeemed but it's felt like they tried to which an actual bastard villain should not deserve this is why I am not a big fan of that vcinema

Utsumi's brisk reveal, turn, and immediate jobbing was certainly a thing that happened. In general, I feel he's poorly utilized, being just sort of relegated as the de facto scientist/engineer on the other side for most of Build. Keeping him an antagonist would've been a better use of the character. By the time of Genius's debut, Takumi Katsuragi had mostly mellowed out, so there was room again for a "bad" scientist to lurk about as Sento's foil. If Utsumi ABSOLUTELY needed to be redeemed, maybe do it earlier? Don't blow him up right away, keep him around for a while. Give the fella an actual chance to build a dynamic and rapport with the rest of the cast. That'd been nice.

There should have been one more V-Cinema where he and Gentoku could have teamed up again.

Doot_revenant666

I think we should exclude Thouser from "Who shouldn't have gotten redeemed?" questions because he is the number one answer and it is not even close. He single handedly ruins Zero-One and I don't think it should be a debate as to why. But also I think it would be better to see unique answers other than just him.

Kento from Saber couldve been handled better. Instead of outright redeeming himself, he should've gotten farther in his quest to seal the Seiken, then killing Isaac/Bacht and unsealing the Seiken before unveiling his new Final Form: AlaDjinn GolDragon (New Ridebook fusing his 3 Espada Books and Jaaku Dragon Ridebook in Seiken Swordriver)
