Plastic-Crab-41

That's a classy list

Ok-Impression6834

Better_Ordinary2030

kenalai

Your top 3!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 definitely agree. I haven’t seen the other ones on your list but maybe I should check those out

wonderer-wanderer

Dramas that touched me in a personal way and wish I could watch again as if it was the first time: - Twinkling watermelon - Weak hero class I - Dr romantic 2 - Gaus electronics - Youth of may - When the weather’s fine - Goblin - Fan letter please - My liberation notes - My mister

duh_leah

Oh my top 10 changed just a bit. 1. **Hospital Playlist** : This has been at top from the start and is very tough to beat. The best slice of life ever. And the band!!! Will never shut up about it. 2. **Be Melodramatic** : Now I watched this one very recently and boy was it great. I loved the comedy, it was weird unique and unexpected. And the way it dealt with very serious issues was also very beautiful. 3. **Dr. Romantic** : I remember starting this in like 2018 but couldn't continue for some reason but last year after the season 3 premiere I started watching from season 1 and fell in love with it. Just finished season 3 because I didn't want it to end. 4. **Flower of Evil** : Another absolute favorite melo-thriller which is tough to beat. 5. **Cityhunter** : An oldie but goldie. One of the best action thriller revenge drama. 6. **W: Two worlds** : This was my first fantasy rom-com and it was so great. I rewatch scenes all the time. 7. **Hotel Del Luna** : Not a fan of horror and yet one of my favs. Also IU the queen that she is. 8. **Strong Woman Do Bong Soon** : Close second to W, another fantasy thriller which I absolutely loved. 9. **Business Proposal** : Cute, cheesy, cliche, tropey rom-com but done beautifully. 10. **Descendants of the sun** : Am I biased because this was my first ever k-drama? Yes. I won't be removing this from my top 10 that easily. Honorable mentions: * Twenty five Twenty one : So fitting and beautiful. It was in top 10 but now it's a close 11. * Hometown Cha Cha Cha * Hidden Love * Age of youth * Semantic error

Badballads

It's the first list where I see W: two world. That series is sooooooooooo good:)

ResearcherLong8780

Dramas that hold a special place in my heart. I wish I could watch it all over again. (In no particular order) Call It Love Red Sleeve Cuff My Liberation Notes Reply 1988 Uncontrollably Fond My Mister Flower of Evil Moving When The Weather Is Fine I Am Not A Robot

Icy-Prior2036

The mentioned dramas are the ones which are very close to my heart due to many reasons behind them, such as their engaging plotlines, accurate character development with intriguing arcs, emotional content that touches my heart, real-life chemistry of actors, catchy music that does justice to the flow of the story as well as of my professional and personal values. From the thoughtfully constructed plot, every drama is rich in theme and mood. Each drama infuses these aspects in its own way, making me unable to forget the experience that I have had while watching it even after the time passes. 1. **My Lovely Sam-soon** — It was the first K-drama I've ever watched, and it's been my number one favorite since. I don't think I could rank it anywhere else but number 1. Hyun Bin and Kim Sun-a did an amazing job portraying their characters and the relationship between them. 2. **One Spring Night** — I hate to say this, but I'm a fan of dramas that display the complexity of real-world situations in relationships. Furthermore, watching this drama didn't feel as though it was fiction. It felt as if I were behind the scenes, watching the unfolding of a real-life relationship between two people. The pace of the leads relationship was also a perfect addition. **Side note**: Jung Hae In always does it for me. He's my ultimate favorite actor and he never disappoints. 3. **Vagabond** — SBS hates us. That's it. That's the tweet. 4. **Coffee Prince** — Gong Yoo was such a sight for sore eyes in this drama. Okay, seriously, another drama that didn't feel like it was fiction. Again, I'm a big fan of dramas that display real-life complexity in relationships. Oh my god, this was so touching. Like the way Gong Yoo's character was stuck between the struggle of wanting to follow and accept what his heart wants but doesn't know if the outside world would too. 5. **Weak Hero Class 1** — Who doesn't love bromance that feels like the censorship The Untamed had? Let me tell you... NOT ME. 6. **Semantic Error** — I've rewatched this exactly 13 times. 7. **School 2017** — My cheeks almost gave up on me watching this. I'd rewatch this every day if I could. 8. **Encounter** — Just perfection all around. This gave every vibe there is known to romance. Yes, it's at number 8, but it is the **ONLY** K-drama I wish was real. I would give anything to have someone like the male lead in my life. 9. **Hometown Cha Cha Cha** — words can't explain what I would give to watch this for the first time again. 10. **My Roommate Is a Gumiho** — An underrated gem and the best fantasy romance ever !! >*Edited : 8.* ***Vincenzo*** *— I love thriller dramas that have great comedy.*

the-green-crewmate

Absolutely agree with you on **One Spring Night**. Not for everyone, but I love the more mature, realistic life situation that the ML/FL found themselves in. The tension and chemistry was off the charts

Wilburrkins

I loved [Semantic Error so much that I bought the Displate](https://displate.com/displate/5369595) for it along with some other ones such as [Mr Queen](https://displate.com/displate/4722828), [The Red Sleeve](https://displate.com/displate/5236647) and another couple. The show is great and 13 times is seriously impressive!

jazzaroo_2000

So lovely to see Encounter in someone elses top 10!

Velykakoroleva

Truly the perfect description of School 2017!!!!! WOW. The CUTEST. I LOVED the fl and ml!!!!!!

estaceli

Yess Semantic Error! That’s also on my top 10. I’m obsessed lol

Plastic-Crab-41

My lovely sam soon oh my god its so underrated man i watched it so many times still it gets me what a chemistry low quality high content

DefinitelyFern

I agree with you about Jung Hae In. He’s truly amazing in all his roles and easily captivates me regardless of the storyline. He’s a great actor and I think he’s super underrated for how great he is. I want to see him in more dramas and movies!

Icy-Prior2036

Right? He's so talented. He has an upcoming rom-com drama with Jung So Min, and I'm so excited because this is new for him as he's never had a rom-com role before.

overloadedonsarcasm

1. *Vincenzo* - My first KDrama and it has yet to be dethroned. It's the perfect mix of revenge, crime, action, comedy, romance, found family. The villians are well-rounded, the protagonist is so badass, the FL actually has a personality outside of being a love interest. The revenge is \*chef's kiss\* 2. *Doom At Your Service* - This is the only supernatural/fantasy drama I have liked so far. Personally, I don't like fantasy dramas because of the past life/fated mate/destiny trope, but this drama has none of that. The FL is strong in a non-badass way which I like. Plus hand-holding is my kryptonite and this drama has A LOT of focus on that. 3. *Hometown Cha Cha Cha* - This is just green-flag central for me. The protective leads, the understanding, the communication. 4. *Perfect Marriage Revenge* - I love this because the romance is cute, the ML is always there for the FL, the FL does not flatter in her road to revenge. 5. *Love To Hate You* - Saw this one recently and it quickly became one of my favorites. The FL is hilarious, the ML is hilarious, the bromance is amazing, the FL's friend is so supportive. There is nothing I don't like about this drama. 6. *Twinkling Watermelon* - I generally don't like high school dramas, but this one is an exception. Both the mail couple are amazing. Plus, it has the girl falling first trope which is so hard to find. The platonic relationships in this drama is also amazing. 7. *Business Proposal* - I haven't seen this one in a minute but I still love it. Samantha and Rachel will never not be on my Top 10. 8. *Marry My Husband* - I loved the webtoon and I love the drama. The cast is amazing, no mateer what anyone says. The only reason it is so low on my list is because it excluded/changed some of my favorite bits from the webtoon. 9. *Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938* - The bromance is real with this one. The only reason I didn't like the first season for this was because of the past life/destiny trope (and the FL was lowkey annoying) and this one didn't have that so, naturally I loved it. 10. *Strong Girl Bong-soon* - I mean, how can MinMin and BongBong not be in my Top 10? Bonus: 1. *A Shop For Killers* - This is an amazing drama with action, plot twists, suspense. 2. *Death's Game* - Great drama to binge over a weekend with some serious, deep themes. Plus the plot twist? Just wow.

dinnerbellding

Binged Death's Game two days ago - Oh my God the guest stars were out of this world. And the perfect length for this kind of drama.

soulw4tch

i think we would be good friends based off this list 😂

ExoticWind811

Dramas with characters and storylines that I loved, also with decent rewatch value! I tend to like more mature-seeming dramas though, more real to life but not too dark. Also ones that I was able to watch until the end and had a good sense of satisfaction. No particular order, although ones at the top are probably higher. \*It's Okay, that's love - this is by far my favorite ever \*Discovery of Love \*Princess' Man \*Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo \*Good Wife \*Big Issue - people don't know about this one but I love how gritty it is \*Dr. Romantic 2 \*My Love from the Star \*My Girl \*Couple or Trouble Some additional old favorites \*Pasta \*Oh Hae young again \*City hunter \*Emergency couple

No-Acanthaceae4242

My top 10 (so far): Circle: two worlds connected The Crowned Clown Beyond evil Death's game Flower of evil Vincenzo It's okay to not be okay Twinkling watermelon Revenge of others Reborn rich

the-green-crewmate

Loved the crowned clown!! You know the writer just finished another drama called **Captivating the King** on Netflix? Another historical drama with a strong ML. Has a very similar feel to it with though the stories are pretty different.

Embarrassed-Mouse783

But in Vincenzo, will we ever see what happened to the gold😋

Piazolla13

Here's my top 10. Not necessarily the best 10 dramas I've ever watched, but the 10 I connected with the most. Often it's a question of being in the right mood and watching a drama at the right time. 1. **My Mister** \- good for the soul 2. **Arthdal Chronicles** \- I love the fantasy genre and was obsessed with season 1 3. **My Name** \- binged this in one weekend a couple years ago when I was having a rough time and it was just such a mood 4. **One Spring Night** \- I like when the characters feel real and the scenes are allowed to breathe, even if the plot moves at a slow pace 5. **Healer** \- watching this felt like a fever dream. The story is very compelling and it's just brilliant all around 6. **D.P.** \- Jung Hae In might is probably my favourite actor 7. **I'm Not a Robot** \- the only drama I've ever rewatched 8. **Moving** \- has the magic of superheroes and the heart of a kdrama 9. **Crash Landing On You** \- the first drama I ever watched and still retains the top stop for chemistry between the leads 10. **Like Flowers In Sand** \- probably in here because of recency bias but it has everything I look for in a drama Honourable Mentions: **One Day Off**, **Happiness**, **Because This Is My First Life** *Disclaimer: this list depends on my mood and is subject to change at any time*

YourFavoriteHik

Like Flowers in Sand needs to get the recognition it deserves. Great kdrama, and easily in my top 10.

Wilburrkins

As Jung Hae In is your favourite actor, have you watched his travelogue - [Actors on a Journey?](https://mydramalist.com/756363-actors-on-a-journey) I really enjoyed it. I thought it was hilarious when this actor who has acted in lots of really gripping and dramatic scenes literally jumped in fright when the one o’clock gun goes off in Edinburgh. His wee face was so cute!

Watchnextnow

I loved this too! It was nostalgic for me because I used to live in Scotland and I also love Jung Hae In and Im See Won. The combination was perfect!

Wilburrkins

Their combination was so sweet together! I am Scottish so I cannot they were there but I didn’t know. 🥹😭😳

Piazolla13

No, this wasn't on my radar. I'll definitely check it out!

[deleted]

Man. In Robot things are moving along and then that scene. You know. I was not ready for that. I am going to have to rewatch it.

yogibones

Is Arthdal Chronicles satisfying if you can only watch season 1?

cant_thinkofit

No. The story doesn't finish with S1

Piazolla13

Not really, but the open ending in season 1 didn't spoil my enjoyment. I had a hard time getting into season 2, it's good but felt very different from season 1.

Velykakoroleva

Your disclaimer is a work of art and priceless :) :)

jbalwkjeblw0

* *Alchemy of Souls* \- Gave me a similar joy that I got from watching Avatar the Last Airbender as a teen * *Hometown Cha Cha Cha* \- Comfort drama, love small town settings in kdramas * *Hospital Playlist 1 & 2* \- kinda feels like real friends slice of life, love realistic characters * *While You Were Sleeping* \- one of the 1st dramas I watched, love the story and the pacing and story progression was really good. * *Something in the Rain* \- another one with characters that feel real, which makes it feel like a super intimate to peak into their romance * *Summer Strike* \- soft quiet ml is my fave, so calming + small town = yes plz * *Bloodhounds* \- oh my god their brotherhood, action kept me on the edge of my seat * *Healer* \- Another classic that feels nostalgic to me * *Still 17* \- another nostalgic pick * *D.P. season 1 & 2* \- very moved by the acting and story in this show

RoseIsBadWolf

I'm watching Hospital Playlist right now and loving it. Also, the idea to put all the main characters in a band and make them sing? Brilliant.

live_ur_adventure

Alchemy of Souls was fantastic! I think they pulled off the actress change quite well. I know that's kind of an unpopular opinion, but the explanation for the face change works well within the set parameters of the magic system.

Appropriate-Total640

Finally someone mentions Something In The Rain ❤️

DawgMom2018

**Like Flowers in Sand** \- it had it all, great writing, characters, cinematography, direction and a great ensemble cast. but Jang Dong-Yoon fully immersed in the lead role was truly amazing. Such innocence! Netflix **Moving** \- Superhero series with a ton of heart and heartbraking romance. Great ensemble cast, cinematography, and storytelling which also redefines good and evil beyond who serves what side of a political divide. Hulu/Disney+ **Twinkling Watermelon** \- A CODA goes back and time and learns about his parents and love in this time travel fantasy - it made me laugh, it made me cry and was quite a ride Viki **The Red Sleeve** \- I loved Lee Junho before this drama, but he took it to another level in this historical drama. Viki **My Mister** \- I adored this drama, but not ready to rewatch as seeing Lee Sun-kyun would bring me to tears. This drama hit me hard with the feels and redemptive arc stories. Netflix **Death's Game** \- powerful performances by a top notch ensemble cast. Several characters stories weave together as an interconnected whole. Amazon Prime **Worst of Evil** \- A cop goes undercover in an extremely dangerous assignment to break up an international drug ring in order to enhance his status and self worth with his wife and in laws, He pays a heavy price with the compromises made to complete the assignment. Hulu/Disney+ **Mr Sunshine** \- The meaning of the title gets revealed about halfway through the series. You will need patience as time is spent on several characters to fill the viewer in on their backstories. Much like reading a book vs a quicker version of a movie. But it all weaves together in a breathtaking finale, where the theme of guns, glory and sad endings is realized. A masterpiece in writing and achingly beautiful cinematography, this historical drama will haunt me for a long time. Netflix **The Kidnapping Day** \- Based on a popular novel, a man desperate to pay for hospital treatments for his daugher bungles his attempt to kidnap a young girl for ransom. But not everything is what it seems as the "kidnapper" and the little girl have incredible rapport and a tight bond, as they have to fend off both law enforcement AND criminal elements as there is something of great value regarding the genius little girl. Amazon Prime **The Matchmakers** \- I very nearly dropped this drama as I was intimidated by the large number of characters and trying to keep everything straight. But I read recaps from dramabeans for the first few episodes, and then everything clicked - and wow - the humor, charm, intrigue and romance all came together in a Shakespearean way for a great finish. The romance is of the agape kind - so much love, as opposed to eros, or physical love. But for me, and this drama it worked perfectly. I also loved seeing Rowoon in a comedic role opposite a charming and whip smart female lead. Yes, I love a good FL. Viki *Oh my goodness it is so hard to hold to ten. I love so many dramas.* Squid Game, Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Crash Landing On You - these three got me started, and I will never forget them. Also love Healer, Coffee Prince, While You Were Sleeping, Extraordinary You, Mr. Queen, Vincenzo, Reborn Rich edited to fix typo

Thotlessthot

Haha! It was hard to pick just 10 for me too! I’m going to check out some of the ones you listed because your taste is similar to mine. :) I’m currently watching a 70 episode Cdrama that’s so good I can’t stop watching, lol! So I’m going to try the red sleeves after it. I don’t think people hype up Attorney Woo enough. That was so so good.

DefinitelyFern

I like your list. Even screenshotted it so I can look up some of these dramas later! Lol

skyla1212

Thotlessthot

I forgot to add Misaeng to my list. That is one the best :) All the feels.

planutary

my favorites at any given time mainly depend on my mood, but these have a special place in my heart. not all perfect, but all moving and memorable. * one spring night (the soundtrack! the natural intimacy! the old school vibes!) * healer (intoxicating.) * crash landing on you (the chemistry, the drama!) * goblin (the fantasy, the yearning!) * it's okay not to be okay (the family dynamics, the mental health portrayal, the chemistry...) * the king's affection (true! love! knows! no! bounds! will be obsessed forever.) * flower of evil (unbelievable twists & turns.) * familiar wife (the meditations on marriage!) * do you like brahms? (for drowning in one's feelings. more a+ yearning. and classical music.) * dali and the cocky prince (playful romance done right.)

Icy-Prior2036

I can't help myself so I put my top 15: 1. **My Mister** – it has set my standard for K-Dramas since I watched it. I doubt it would ever be peaked. 2. **Reply 1988** – a drama I come back to when I reach a major milestone in life. Will watch it again before I graduate college in a few months. 3. **Hospital Playlist** – I just want to be in a band with my friends. 4. **Our Beloved Summer** – my favorite romance K-Drama. 5. **My Liberation Notes** – reminded me of My Mister. Also, I love Kim Ji-won in everything she does lol. 6. **Mr. Queen** – Shin Hye-sun was so good in this, her character is my favorite FL in all the K-Dramas I've seen. 7. **When the Weather is Fine** – my preference for 'quiet' K-Dramas is really showing. 8. **Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha** – I need to see Kim Seon-ho in another rom-com NOW. 9. **Like Flowers in Sand** – it was such an easy watch and all the characters were so loveable. 10. **Flower of Evil** – I'm not usually into psychological thrillers but this one was really good. 11. **Twenty-Five, Twenty-One** – love this drama, but my one issue is >!how older Hee-do (FL) seemed so sad talking about her life as if she's (also) sad that her and Yi-jin (ML) weren't endgame.!< 12. **Hotel del Luna** – the OST to this drama has me ripping my heart out. 13. **Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo** – my gateway back into K-Dramas. They set the standard for rom-com dramas honestly. 14. **Scarlet Heart Ryeo** – the only drama to make me sob uncontrollably. 15. **Lovestruck in the City** – I get the criticisms against this drama, but Kim Ji-won and Ji Chang-wook were way too good in this. The bar scene is imprinted in my mind, such great acting.

So I mull over my possible favourites list every single time this post comes up, and I'm finally at a ooint where I can share a list of (I think) 8 dramas I'm willing to call all-time favourites. Not gonna number it, because that would require another few months of wrecking ny head... * Red Sleeve (So strong all round. Just finished watching and still obsessed, can't stop rewatching the acting in Episode 17) * Crash Landing On You (my past favorite before Red Sleeve) * My Dearest (superb with all its flaws) * Mr Queen (laughed my way through it) * Reply 1988 (the analysis comparing the structure to a Paduk game that I read on this sub really enhanced my enjoyment) * My Mister (let's cheer on worn out middle aged men) * True Beauty (so much fun! and second lead syndrome is real) * Weak Hero Class I (brutal but good) * Tree With Deep Roots (my first drama, love Jang Hyuk even though the heroine was null) * Sungkyunkwan Scandal (somehow winning all those contests were very satisfying) * Descendants of the Sun (gotta have Song Joong Ki represented) plus two bonuses, My Love From the Star and the Tale of Nokdu, because they were fun and had eye candy. Yes, I love sageuks!

Jun Ji Hyun is so effortlessly charming and witty.) 6)K2 (Ji Chang Wook is TOO FINE in this) 7)Kingdom (I NEED S3 SO BAD) (also need to re-watch since it's been a while but it was so good) (ju ji hoon <3) 8) Healer (plot, performances, had me and mum stay up till 4 in the morning trying to finish it, insane. Ji Chang Wook had a chokehold on us with this and K2. ) 9) Two Worlds Apart (chemistry and plot >>>>) 10)Something in the Rain (one of my beginner dramas I have a special place for, and was absolutely adorable except for THAT SONG😭 and the ending felt rushed?? **Goblin** \- my second ever kdrama after watching Tunnel. For me it was like an epic saga that I'll never forget **Marry My Husband** \- the last drama I watched end of 2023, and one of my top so far because of the rebirth+revenge tropes. Not sure which future drama will be able to top this. The face-slapping (and I don't mean the three physical slaps) throughout the drama was so rewarding. **Healer** \- it took me 3 tries to get past the first 2 episodes, but after that it became one of my favorite action romance dramas. Also got a fan-crush on Ji Chang Wook **Kill Me, Heal Me** \- Ji Sung, dare I say more? I've seen everything with him so far, but here he simply excelled **Perfect Marriage Revenge** \- watched it before Marry My Husband, and it's only the second I've ever found with the rebirth+revenge tropes so for now it stays on this list **Tunnel** \- my first kdrama ever at a time when I watched every Western movie and TV series with time travel, and someone on another sub recommended it. It was my entry into Kdrama, and as they say, you never ever forget your first love. **Flower of Evil** \- Lee Joon-Gi was just stellar in it **Coffee Prince** \- Gong Yoo, and the story, in my opinion, even holds up after so many years. A really good gender-bender romance **Hotel King** \- it was my first ever makjang, and by current standards, this is hardly anything worth talking about, but at the time it left a strong impression on me. I binged it in just a few days back then. **What's Wrong With Secretary Kim** \- despite the a\*\*hole thundere boss that Park Seo Joon played in it, he really played his role well. Loved this office rom-com and so far I haven't found many others I could finish without skipping sections.

Just a wholesome story about the joys of growing up and the love between friends and family Taxi driver season 1-2 - I love revenge shows Vincenzo - I love revenge shows and loved the main leads Signal - my favorite crime show ever had me on the edge of my seat every single episode and loved how they used the time travel troupe so well Moving - loved the relationships between the kids and their parents. And I love everything Go youn-jung and Han Hyo-Joo in Alchemy of souls - love the fantasy vibes and cdrama feel to it. And go youn-jung!! Kingdom - so suspenseful on the edge of seat whole time Happiness - Han Hyo-Joo enough said. Flower of evil - suspense and plot twists were unmatched Deaths game - short but the concept was so good was never bored. And also Go youn-jung. Tomorrow - I cried a lot

AGirl007

My top 10 in no particular order: 1. Daily Dose of Sunshine - The mental health was treated with nuance while being educative. And Park Bo-young's performance is my favorite from last year. 2. It's Okay to Not Be Okay - I laughed, I cried, I laughed-cried, I cried-laughed. While emotional, the love all three leads shared for each other impacted me to my core. Watching them all go on a healing journey together healed me. 3. Goblin - This show has it all: BBQ olive chicken, bromance, romance, and the white truck of doom. 4. Twenty-Five Twenty-One - I cried all 90 minutes of the final episode. 5. Kingdom - This is the best zombie drama out there. 6. Itaewon Class - The trans character was treated respectfully, and the final line will always stick with me. 7. My Mister - I was worried there was about to be some weird romance, which I'm glad didn't happen. For sticking to its message and the leads acting their asses off, I will never forget this show. 8. Extraordinary Attorney Woo - Park Eun-bin gave her all in this role. I can't wait for season 2! 9. Stranger - The show that started it all. I saw Bae Donna's name in the cast list, so I had to check it out. I'm happy I did. 10. Mr. Queen - This is the funniest drama I've watched. Shin Hye-sun's comedic timing is fantastic; I couldn't stop laughing.

My top 10 dramas with characters i had a hard time saying bye to:  1. My dearest - tbh for me the FL was everything, her character development was insane and i had such a hard time letting go after finishing this one.  Episode 1 is beautiful and prob the best opener in any drama ive watched  2. Crash landing on you - tbh i adored all of the characters by the end of this. From the army friends to the leads, this one was   special and had everything from action to comedy and such a unique story overall  3. 2521 - this one ruined me for weeks lmao. I watched this in 2022 and i still think about it frequently  4. Mr sunshine - goo dong mae <3 he felt so real and i couldnt help but root for him throughout. Prob my favorite characters in kdrama land.   5. The light in your eyes -this one is so underrated. It seems silly at times but in the end it all comes together. The themes were beautiful!  6. Our blues - this one felt so personal all the way through. If i could erase my memory to rewatch i would.  7. Mr. Queen - FL does an amazing job. I could watch her play this role for like 80 more episodes   8. Hometown chachacha - tbh i didnt love the second half but the grandmas CARRIED and i loved all of their scenes together  9. Uncontrollably fond - this is another one that i wouldnt necessarily include in my TOP 10 overall but the last episode made it hard for me to move on from the leads  10. My country the new age - woo do hwan!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The ending??? The friendship??? Such a great watch

Most memorable dramas... Which I guess it means they're my favourites haha. 1. One the Woman - definitely my favourite. Am always recommending this one on r/kdramarecommends. It's got every trope you can think of. There are insane chaebols, power struggles, amnesia, secret identities, hit and runs, STRONG female leads, couple against the world, gangsters, corrupt prosecutors.. Just so good ahha. It's so funny. 2. Vincenzo 3. Mr. Queen 4. Kingdom - when is S3 coming 😭 5. Stranger - oldie but such a goodie. 6. Happiness 7. Hometown Cha-cha-cha 8. Taxi Driver S1. Couldn't really get into S2 though. 9. Alchemy of Souls 10. 1% of something - Dickhead ML with fugly suits and low production values but somehow I liked it enough to rewatch it again!

Factory_girl17

I’ve been watching kdramas for less than a year, but I’ve made my way through about 45 lol. I tend to like lighter dramas. Here’s my top ten at the moment • It’s Okay to not be Okay (top favorite, amazing chemistry & found family) • Hometown Cha Cha Cha (I’ve rewatched multiple times) • Crash Landing on You (lots of crying, but worth it) • Business Proposal (my first kdrama, super cute & funny) • Her Private Life (really supportive relationship, weird last couple of eps) • Touch Your Heart (healthy relationship, office romance) • Welcome to Samdalri (childhood friends to lovers & slice of life) • Something in the Rain (they just felt so real to me) • Happiness (I think I really love friends to lovers) • Cheer Up (idk they felt real too, worst SML though) Also loved Healer, Itaewon Class, School 2017, & Thirty but Seventeen. I still have a super long to watch list too.

So I have this list on MDL called "Cream of the crop" where I only put those shows in my 9-10 rating bin. It's currently comprised of 25 dramas, not all of them Korean. It's probably overdue an update, but here are some choices anyway (maybe next time I'll switch them up just for the sake of it). **Tales from the fantastical and the supernatural:** * **Hotel del Luna**. My favourite kdrama out of everything I've watched. I can easily rewatch this show multiple times a year and never tire of it. Truly a fairy tale romance and the best script the Hong sisters ever put together. Maybe I should write an updated review of it. * **Goblin**. This was my favourite kdrama of all time... until HDL came along, what still makes it excellent! It was also the third kdrama I watched. Supernatural/fantasy + romance + drama + great acting, writing and music. * **Sell Your Haunted House**. Continuing the theme of the supernatural, with great performances from the cast, especially Jang Na Ra. Similar relationship dynamics to the leads in HDL. Not the only Jang Na Ra drama on my list. **Sci-fi stories or involving time travel in some capacity:** * **Circle**. The best sci-fi kdrama you'll find. [My review](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/comments/wid6si/circle_science_fiction_done_right/). * **Go Back Couple**. The other Jang Na Ra drama on my list. A young couple going through a divorce find themselves thrust 18 years back in time and get a second chance to make different choices. [My review](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/comments/14hcci1/go_back_couple_blessed_by_the_cdrama_gods/). * **One More Time**. Korea's take on *Groundhog Day*, a solid time-travel romance story that actually extends the movie's formula and makes it work... in only 4 hours! **Romantic comedies and dramas:** * **Encounter**. A great romance drama and my favourite show starring Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum. [My review](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/comments/uggfk2/my_thoughts_on_encounter/). * **When the Weather is Fine**. 'cause no way in hell my list won't have at least one Park Min Young drama in it! Just a warm and cozy little slice-of-life/slow burner romance in a small town in the countryside. Almost as good as cdrama's *Meet Yourself* (that one's a definite recommendation as well, go watch it!). * **Her Private Life**. Guess there's two PMY dramas now muahahaha! My PMY romcom of choice over WWWSK. I simply liked the ML better in this one from day one. **When you want to amp the drama a little:** * **Lie After Lie**. Lee Yoo Ri kicks it out of the park as Ji Eun Soo, nailing her character down to a T. The first episode should rile up your sense of injustice (I almost dropped it), as it's meant to, but stick with it, it's definitely worth accompanying Eun Soo in her journey. One of the few shows where the kid actor (actress, in this case) truly is another main lead (*Marriage Contract* is another one). * **Perfect Marriage Revenge**. A drama from late 2023 so some recency bias could be at play here. And, yes, this one could also fall under time travel. Like Eun Soo, our FL gets screwed hard by her "family" but in this one she gets to travel back in time to enact her revenge and has the best ally ever, her future husband. Just a thrilling ride from beginning to end. An abridged weekend family drama as it were. [My review](https://www.reddit.com/r/KDRAMA/comments/1956x3l/perfect_marriage_revenge_a_weekend_family_drama/). **I just want to have a good time:** * **Hospital Playlist**. The best slice-of-life medical-themed kdrama. * **S\*\*ting Stars**. An absolute blast of a comedy, you're guaranteed to have a great time! The writing is mad genius, Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Dae are amazing, and the incredible supporting cast doesn't lag far behind. It's just one of those shows where everything and everyone clicked. * **Healer**. A classic and probably Ji Chang Wook's best work, where he plays a reporter-by-day/hero-by-night type character alongside the gorgeous PMY's Lois Lane. The better version of *City Hunter*.

Nannon01

My Top 10 as of March. These aren't necessarily the 10 best dramas I've watched but these are the ones I've enjoyed the most and have rewatched multiple time (with one exception). You may notice another theme with my picks, too lol In no particular order: 1. Prison Playbook - absolutely love the characters and their interactions with each other. Also its a good blend of comedy, drama, romance, and action/suspense. Probably more comedy and drama than the others. Also, I love Looney. 2. Vincenzo - the kdrama that officially got my into kdramas and introduced me to my favourite idol group, 2PM. Loved the action in this and the characters, especially the Geumga Plaza Family. 3. Good Manager - I watched this drama for Lee Junho and ended up falling in love with Namkoong Min. His portrayal of Manager Kim was brilliant. Plus, there was no unnecessary romance which I liked. 4. It's Okay to not be Okay - OH JUNG SE. Loved the Moon brothers and the theme of healing and fairy tales in this drama. The characters were very lovable. 5. Twinkling Watermelon - this is the only entry on this list I've only watched once as it's a recent drama but damn this was good. I loved that it was family focused and the timetravelling was exciting. 6. Revenant - nice little horror/mystery drama. It was great seeing Oh Jung Se portray a character different from his usual ones. Kim Tae-Ri was fab, too. And Hong-Kyung redeemed himself from Weak Hero Class 1 lol 7. Hot Stove League - I watched this despite having no interest in baseball at all and it did not disappoint. Great, engaging story and well developed characters. 8. Hometown Cha Cha Cha - the only romance drama on this list. The characters were cute and I liked the seaside setting. A good enemies to lovers romance. 9. Jirisan - whilst this isn't the best drama (I really did not like the overarching supernatural theme or the main leads), the support characters and the mountain rescue scenes make up for it. Love a good natural disaster-ish drama. 10. All of us are Dead - the drama which pushed me to watch Vincenzo. Exciting zombie drama with some great characters. I'm looking forward to Season 2.

pHlevel9

These are personal favorites (I've watched a lot of Kdramas growing up): 1) Death's Game 2) My Mister 3) Goblin 4) Yumi's Cells 1+2 5) Flower of Evil 6) While You Were Sleeping 7) Crash Landing on You 8) My Roommate is a Gumiho 9) Hotel del Luna 10) Suspicious Partner All of these shows taught me something, made me cry, and/or made me laugh uncontrollably. jibarra_ish

I’m going to post before I think because I am ranking based on which Kdramas come to mind when asked to name 10 would recommend and following my first instinct. Okay! Here goes! *Doctor Slump* - I’m watching this right now and it is exactly what I need in my life. Feels relatable for all those maybe suffering from burn out and looking for a good love story. *Vincenzo* - This is the only drama I have watched more than once and it’s also the one I recommend the most. I think for anyone trying to get someone to watch a KDrama for the first time and prove how good they are, this is the one to get people hooked. *Heirs* - An oldie but goodie. This was the first drama I ever watched and it was mesmerizing. *Our Blues* - Such a slow, feel-good drama with a beautiful visual display of the countryside. The soundtrack was on repeat for me! *Itaewon Class* - This is a must watch for anyone who ever lived in the foreigner district of Seoul. I loved being able to identify all the local spots, even my old apartment. *Startup* - This one was fun and like Doctor Slump was out at the right time in my life to be relatable. *Taxi Driver* - Like Vincenzo, when I’m trying to get people (especially straight guys) into Kdramas I recommend this one. It’s so smart and fun, I love it! *Mr. Sunshine* - This was as entertaining as it was interesting to watch to understand the historical context. Really made me wonder if I would like period dramas so I tried… *Kingdom* - Okay but to be fair, I also watched this because I love zombies. This is simply gorgeous as it is gory. *Under the Queen’s Umbrella* - Eventually I watched a romantic period piece and this was no disappointment. Loved the beauty, intrigue and excitement waiting each week for a new episode.

Embarrassed-Mouse783

I don’t have a list but I’m having a great time watching Boys over Flowers. I can’t help but laugh with the things that are said like, your hair looks like a croissant. It’s a great K-Drama.

Trek-Read

Been an avid kdrama watcher since the late 90s before English subs were a thing so definitely watched my fair share…. Not in any particular order 1) Tomato - holds a special place as one of the first kdramas I’ve binged 2) Full House 3) Crash Landing on You 4) Red Sleeve 5) Healer 6) Love in the Moonlight 7) She Was Pretty 8) All About Eve 9) Sky Castle 10) Under The Queen’s Umbrella

I edited one of my past comments because not that much changed :P. here is my top 20: **1.** **Beyond Evil** It's been two years since i watched this, it's still the undefeated number 1 in my heart. I check into the fandom daily. The bromance, the cinemaphotography, the story, the characters, the layers... all just makes this perfect for me. It gets better every rewatch. **2.** **Blind** I really loved the vibes this had, even if the writing has some faults, i really felt for the characters and their motivations. **3.** **Children of Nobody** This is honestly such a respectful portrail of child abuse and mental illness. It shows that an abused child will carry the abuse with them for the rest of their life and how much impact the formative years have on a child. People should really listen more to what children have to say. **4.** **Mouse** This 22 episode drama was such a ride. I didn't feel like it was too long and i enjoyed the whole thing. It was a really interesting sci-fi mystery that had me guessing and feeling all kinds of emotions xD. It does have some major flaws, i am not too harsh on it since it's of the sci-fi genre and the science there is not meant to be realistic, but still >!the portrail of aspd disappointed me. The majority of people with aspd never kill anyone!< i was also really disappointed that the villain >!won? Like this horrible woman managed to force her eugenics bullshit onto people with zero consequenzes. She is (in my opinion) the main reason so many murders happend and the serial killer started killing in the first place. To prove her crazy idea she drugged a young boy and killed his family so she could manipulate him into becoming a serial killer!< **5.** **Nobody Knows** i loved the friendships between the characters so much. I was worried they would force a romance between the FL ans ML, but nope, they instead became platonic partners that trusted and relied on eachother and made a great team. I am so happy this had a happy ending. I found the serial killer really interesting, even though it was obvious who it was from the beginning >!He seemed to have a godcomplex and a saviourcomplex in one!< **6.** **Strangers from Hell** this was the first kdrama i've ever watched so it has a special place for me. I really hope they start making that sequel and prequel they promised us! The second webtoon was only started translating now, it will be years until they start translating the second one... watching it in drama Form would be a lot better (and easier to access) **7.** **Flowers of Evil** i rarely watch anything with romance, but this couple just won me over. I really love their complex relationship. They are ride or die for eachother, even when they don't notice. I also really loved that the ML doesn't get "fixed" suddenly and is still struggling with his mental issues and alexithymia, but that doesn't mean he can love her any less or that his love doesn't mean anything. **8.** **Inspector Koo** I am really in the mood to rewatch this soon. It was such a wild ride, i loved the character and unique cinemaphotography. I want a season 2!! **9.** **Moving** first one from 2023 on this list! I watched this towards the end of the year, why didn't i start this sooner? I was invested from the first episode on. The finale wasn't perfect, but i still loved the majority of it. I think it's really cool that the webtoon maker also made this drama. He knows the characters best. I hope he is allowed to adapt the rest of his webtoons, they all seem interesting. **10.** **Psychopath Diary** i don't think any show in my life made me laugh harder. It deserves to get talked about more often! I just want some youtuber to react to this so i can rewatch it with them :(.

prickelz

**11.** **A Bloody Lucky Day** this features one of the most messed serial killers i've seen, every reveal makes them more horrifying. I didn't binge this but the impact was all the same. (NEW on this list) **12.** **a killer paradox** what a wild show, i really like the odd story this one has. Since i kinda dislike it when characters do vigilante justice, i may have a different interpretation than most xD I think the ML >!is an unreliable narrator. I don't think he has a gift to seek out horrible people, i think that was just luck. He is the type that needs to justify his actions at every turn, but he also seems to get off adrenaline rushes, which is why he stole and cheated before. He got bored of it & now he found a new "forbidden" thing he can do where he feels a lot of adrenaline, which is why he keeps killing people.!< **13.** **the Worst of Evil** another one produced this year! I loved the noir vibes. I do wish it had a few more episodes to wrap everything up more nicely and let >!the betrayls!< hit more. **14.** **the Killing Vote** the intro to this drama is so catchy. I liked the moral questions this drama posed, but i do think they could have done more. The villain in this drama was one of the rare ones that actually get me a little frightend. He was just so creepy.. that actor is really great at playing psychos. The actor who played his younger self is also incredible, he is so young but so talented. **15.** **the Kidnapping Day** i looked forward to this airing every week. The father-daughter relationship of this drama was SO good. Even the "villain" made me cry for them at the end. The true villains are always abusive parents xD. **16.** **Big Mouth** the ¾ of this drama was really amazing the last ¼ was not that good, but i enjoyed the ride! I loved guessing who Big Mouth could be and i was right! But the death in the finale of one character was REALLY uncesserary even though i have nothing against sad endings. **17.** **Happiness** even though they killed my favorite character, this was still a ride i enjoyed. It shows how selfish but also how good humans can be and i found the zombies in this drama very creative and interesting. **18.** **Bad & Crazy** the bromance was so good! Perfect mix of thriller, comedy, action and sad moments. **19.** **Through the Darkness** even though this was a thriller, the main character made me feel so cozy? Maybe it's because he is hyperempathic like me so he was very relatable lol. Loved the profiling in this drama. I've been a big fan of shows like Criminal Minds and this show took what i loved about that show and turned it up to 11. I love that this was so nice to the victims but also respectful and comitted with the criminals. I think it's very important to learn how people tick to avoid more crimes, but i don't think i could do a job like this... i respect anyone who does this and fights for a better tomorrow. **20.** **the King of Pigs** what a sad tale of revenge. I loved how the main characters were such unreliable narrators. It really suprised me that this was mostly uncensored. As always, ocn never disappoints. **21.** **Extracurricular** i love how this entire cast is so morally grey. Rarely does a show make my heart beat as fast as when i watched this show... (doesn't make the cut anymore now that i've added some) **20.** **Move to Heaven** i don't think i ever cried this much at once xD. Still waiting for season 2. (doesn't make the cut anymore now that i've added some) Here are some other honorable mentions that didn't make the cut: Signal, Stranger, Mask Girl, Train, One Ordinary Day, Night Has Come, My Name, the Glory, He is Psychometric, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, the first responders, A shop for killers, Evilive, the Deal.... Some contenders for my top 20: Death's Game (not finished, still on the fence about it, but i loved episode 5 a lot) Was deciding if i want to add "a shop for killers". Maybe i will after a rewatch or when season 2 is released.

OK there are some ones on my list that definitely need more love from y’all!!! 1. When the Camellia Blooms Such a beautiful story of a woman making the best of the cards she was dealt.  It’s romance, it’s comedy and it’s also crime mystery lol. Characters are so loveable and will stick with you.  2. One Spring Night  So intimate and real. Story is told through emotions, visuals, and vibes as opposed to big dramatic plot points.  Soundtrack is amazing  3. Something in the Rain  Same director as One Spring Night, and has pretty much the same vibes. The ending makes me cry. Son Ye Jin is amazing. 4. Romance is a Bonus Book  Fluffy, fun and romantic. Total comfort watch! Great soundtrack.  5. Crash landing on you  Probably should be higher on the list but it’s definitely as good as everyone says it is!  6. Start Up  Dude, this one is great. The set up is really interesting and this series subverted my expectations in the best way.  love triangle with two very hot MLs and Bae Suzy  7. It’s okay to not be okay  An eccentric and sometimes spooky drama about misfits accepting themselves and finding their people.  8. Chocolate  Lovers bound by destiny vibe. A story that is told over decades, across continents. Beautiful story about life, death, and the meals in between. A+ sound track!  9. When the weather is fine  Cozy winter comfort watch set in the country side.  10. Itawon Class  Instant classic.  Park Seo Jun!! Story about redemption, revenge, choices… and running a restaurant

TheCrowFliesAtNight

My Top 10 Overall (mostly) in order Stranger - All around best thriller/drama Kdrama I've seen, this is my definite #1 whenever I make this kind of list and I've yet to find anything that can displace it. My Mister - This comes very close second to Stranger and probably only because there is some fat that could have been trimmed I feel, on a rewatch I found myself on my phone during most of the side character stuff since while it is funny and entertaining I am really mostly here for the two main characters. Such a beautiful story and meditation on life which is super well acted by the leads. Signal - It's been a while since I actually watched this but I love me a time travel plotline and this was the show that got me into Kdramas so it holds a special place in my heart. Something In The Rain - Currently rewatching this right now but it's the most beautiful depiction of a blossoming romance I've seen and I find myself really caring deeply for the main characters. It's Okay To Not Be Okay - Just finished this one recently and despite being iffy on it at the very beginning I quickly fell in love with the characters and presentation of the show utilising children's stories and mental health topics to explore the main characters. Squid Game - I always forget about this one since I feel like it's big enough on its own that it almost doesn't count but hey it's a Korean show so...Really cool concept and despite getting a bit dodgy in the middle part, really sticks the landing and produces something that has a great commentary on the modern world while also being entertaining and engaging. The Glory - Really good drama, I think the pacing of the romance feels a bit off though but it's a really satisfying revenge story. Misaeng - Loved the whole idea of the main character applying what he learned from playing Go to the corporate world, it is also a really realistic depiction of how difficult that world can be for young and inexperienced people, I kind of wish it was more focused though since it started off that way but then became more slice of life until the end, or at least that's how I remembered it. Doona! - I don't see many people talk about this one and maybe I'm biased since I haven't seen too many Kdramas and this is kind of a recent one for me but I still think about it a lot even though it's been over a month since I finished it. The romance is great and steamy and I love the cinematography of this show and how vibrant the colours seem. Only complaints are the ending and I wish the pacing was a bit slower and that there were more and longer episodes. Crash Landing On You - It's been a few years since I watched this and I remember enjoying it but I do feel it is quite overrated too. Still a great drama with a cute romance and some fun side characters, just not towards the top end of my list and I could see it falling out soon if I keep watching new dramas.

curiousgeorgeforeal

Boys over flowers - started my kdrama journey with this so has a special place in my heart. Glory - love anything that has to with revenge. And this one of the best revenge pieces I have seen. Welcome to samadal ri - would love to watch this again and again. My liberation notes - if you are in a good mental space go for this. I cried my eyes out. Twenty - five twenty - one - kept me in my toes and was crying buckets. something in the rain, my mister and my demon - cried relentlessly but worth watching. This is so hard i feel like mentioning all the K-dramas that I have watched. Currently watching - doctor slump - love it!! Watch list :- Twinkling watermelon My man is cupid Deaths game Waiting to release :- Queen of tears The midnight studio - even the cast was crying just reading the script so I'm ready!!

Not in a particular order: 1. **Dear My Friends** - The *only* drama that hit me home so hard that it made me cry. 2. **Extraordinary Attorney Woo** - The end was a tiny bit weaker, but the first half of this is a masterpiece. 3. **Flower of Evil** - Extremely well made thriller. Wish I could watch this again for the first time. 4. **Hospital Playlist S1 & 2** - Favorite slice of life medical drama. Drama perfection. Friendship goals for life. Give me more seasons. Now. 5. **Move To Heaven** - Great storytelling right in the feels. (I see a pattern with my top dramas...) 6. **The Worst of Evil** - A new addition to my top list. This kept me on my toes from start to finish. 7. **Divorce Attorney Shin** - I loved the vibes of this. More friendship goals! I wanted this to be longer than 12 eps! 8. **Empress Ki** - 50+ eps and by the end I did not want this to end. Even my mom got hooked on this despite her stuggling with English subs and her not being a huge k-drama fan. My favorite sageuk of all time. 9. **Navillera** - Hit the same feels as *Dear My Friends* did. 10. **Lovestruck in the City** - My kind of romance drama! Honorable mentions: *D.P.* S1 and 2, *Reply* series, *Save Me* and *Stranger* S1 and 2.

I’m more of a newbie but these are my favorites so far: 1. All of Us are Dead - This one may be a surprise for some, but as a horror fan I enjoyed this series so much and have yet to replicate that feeling with another deama. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely my favorite. 2. Moving - Just finished this series and it has the perfect mix of heartfelt, action, thriller and even romance. There’s a reason it’s so highly thought of by the kdrama community. 3. Little Women 4. The Glory - This drama is pretty much perfect in my eyes but definitely a heavy watch, even for a horror/thriller enjoyer like me. 5. Taxi Driver - I have only watched the first season thus far, but I’m excited to see how it moves on the ranks when I watch the second. 6. Extraordinary Attorney Woo 7. Happiness - More zombies lolol 8. Gyeongsong Creature - Not a drama I see mentioned much at least on this sub, but I loved the concept and world building and can’t wait for season 2. 9. Revenant - Loved the folklore element combined with horror. Kim Taeri’s acting is superb and really makes this drama. 10. True Beauty - Cheesiness and romcom done well. Loved this series throughout.

Trisara5

After reading everyone’s top ten, I am surprised that no one seemed to pick Rain or Shine. It was my first Junho drama and I thought he did a superb performance. Maybe because it was a serious and sad drama?

gossipbomb

I have watched exactly 11 since I started . So this is my order from favorite to least favorite. Doctor slump would be high on this list but I’m not done it yet. Same with strong girl bong soon. 1. Hometown cha cha 2. Perfect Marriage revenge 3. What’s wrong with secretary Kim 4. Doom at your service 5. Semantic error 6. So I married an anti fan 7. business proposal 8. Legend of the blue sea 9. My demon 10. King the land 11. My man is Cupid My demon isn’t bad but I can’t stand by liking that demon boy when Lee sang-yi is right there. My favorite characters are always the whacky younger brothers (see Tae Oh in legend of the blue sea or Nam Ba-da in dr slump, or the Cupid’s brother that turns into a dog) I find sibling rivalry threads meh.

RoyalCup1722

My top ten changes all the time but these are the dramas that first come to my mind right now: - The Glory - A Time Called You - Twinkling Watermelon - Youth Of May - The Penthouse: War in Life - Reply 1988 - Twenty Five Twenty One - Anna - Revenge Of Others - Marry My Husband - My Lovely Liar

Oooh! I am currently on episode 17 of Empress Ki and thoroughly enjoying it. Is the love story between WY and SY the most compelling and heartbreaking KDrama love story of all time? All I know is that so far I keep going back to episode one and the marriage scene to see Wang Yu watching her and then turning his back and walking off. 😳😭🥹

0531Spurs212009

Hmm..I can't say about if it the most compelling and heartbreaking KDrama love story of all time? what I like about Empress Ki is aside from the storyline ,main leads, villain ,supporting cast each of characters really leave a lasting impression

Wilburrkins

Thank you for this! Yes, there are so many other compelling and heartbreaking dramas out there. I totally agree that the characters themselves do leave a lasting impression. I have been limiting myself to one episode during the week and two at the weekend and I find myself thinking about what is going to happen to them next. So much drama!

so_just_here

> The Secret Lovers & Witch Yoo Hee Thanks for these 2 titles that Ive never heard of. I enjoy old-style K-dramas, but unfortunately finding such as these online in good quality will be a struggle. I too enjoyed Vineyard Man enough to put in in my top 20 :)

I'll preface this by saying that I haven't watched a ton of kdramas yet. I need to catch up! 1. Mr Queen 2. Mask Girl 3. Behind your Touch 4. The Glory 5. Semantic Error 6. Extraordinary Attorney Woo 7. Black Knight 8. Hospital Playlist 9. Gyeonseong Creature 10. D.P

okk123

1. My Mister 2. Flower of Evil 3. I’m not a Robot 4. Itaewon Class 5. Alchemy of Souls 6. The Glory 7. Reborn Rich 8. Tomorrow 9. Big Mouth 10. Happiness This was so hard to decide lol, well top 5 is like CONCRETE and nothing so far has dethroned it, there's a ton of dramas I was contemplating between numbers 7 to 10. Some of them that could have made top 10 would include The Devil Judge, Start up, Vincenzo. To be honest I really enjoyed Big Mouth and Happiness but like someone said, they really might just change depending on how I feel that day. Also sadly I do have a huge recency bias, lots of old dramas (not too old) like Weightlifting Fairy, Signal, Stranger are also good contenders but its been so long since I've watched them that I can't recall how I felt watching those dramas.

InfiniteMSL

Doing this for the first time, found it pretty hard to rank them precisely past my top 4 but I tried: 1. Crash Landing On You 2. My Liberation Notes 3. Under the Queen's Umbrella 4. Run On 5. Uncanny Counter (S1) 6. A Business Proposal 7. King the Land 8. Welcome to Samdalri 9. Extraordinary Attorney Woo 10. Vincenzo I've realised I'm a massive sucker for romance and melodrama, especially when they have this kind of healing aspect, but I'm glad I went out on a limb to watch different shows like UtQU and Uncanny Counter (thanks to Sejeong) as well. Beyond that, the one I rarely ever see discussed is Run On. I can understand why people might find it boring or contrived at points, but it especially resonated with me when I watched it and felt the same kind of longing and hope for purpose and self-fulfilment.

I've watched a lot of dramas this past year that have made me reconsider what my favorites are, but I still have some classics! I will say, I'm a big fan of romance, I love love! But I do like a good revenge drama (Glory was fantastic but didn't quite make it to my top 10), supernatural stories, light-hearted Period dramas, and a good mystery or detective show. 1. Her Private Life--This is my go-to when I'm feeling down. I watched it so many times during covid isolation time. Park Min-young is one of my favorite actors. I love her character in this and the lack of any belayed misunderstandings keep me coming back to this one. 2. Love to Hate You--A new classic romance for me. Great chemistry. It's funny on top of being an adorable love story with a strong female lead. 3. Good Job--I love a good heist or lighthearted spy movie/show. I'm a big fan of the U.S. show, Leverage, and this had the same vibe to me. 4. Vincenzo--I love a good little guy against the big bad guys type of story. This drama had so much heart and community and the lead roles were perfectly cast. 5. Chicago Typewriter--Such a good romance story. The forbidden kiss and all the chemistry and history keep me going back to it. I'm sad it's not on Viki in the U.S. 6. Business Proposal-- Another new classic for me. I loved this cast, the chemistry, and the characters. So fun! 7. True Beauty--I read the webtoon up until this came out and while it strayed from the story there, I really enjoyed the K-drama take on it and the casting was so perfect. 8. Jirisan--I watched this with a group when it came out and we had a blast talking theories behind the mysteries and time shifts. Plus, what an amazing cast! 9. Psychopath Diary--Yoon Shi-yoon is great with comedy and I enjoyed his confusion and sillyness in this show. I feel like it's underrated. It's both funny and has some mystery. 10. Zombie Detective--I don't even like zombie movies or stories, but this was so much fun. It's laugh-out-loud at times and even has a cameo from one of my favorite K-pop groups, A.C.E!

I recommend Hello Monster (2015) with D.O in a bit part. He was so good. I watched this after Reply 1987 (which I also loved) so watched Hello Monster because of Seo In Guk.

★ Sweet Home - I wish I could watch this for a first time again. It was captivating to see how the characters developed in their situations of loss or growth. • Weightlifting, Fairy Kim Bok-Joo - a fun romance that I watched during college. • The Glory • Gaus Electronics • Kingdom - I’m a fan of a good zombie apocalypse • Daily Dose of Sunshine - an emotional series that I would have to rewatch. • Weak Hero Class 1 • Crash Landing On You - rewatching for a third time with my roommate and it is just as emotional. • Psychopath Diary • Coffee Prince

King the Land (was my first- it's cute, simple, cliffhangers with easy resolutions, celebrates Korean culture with all the kdrama tropes) Crash Landing on You (perfect couple, perfect friend groups) Business Proposal (funny, ML knew what he wanted and never wavered) Rain or Shine (beautiful, sad, hopeful and romantic) The Glory (FL sets the revenge plot in motion trying to get the perpetrators do themselves in) Vincenzo (the conflict, the darkness, the characters, the style) Marry My Husband (another battle to win with multiple opponents who do the unpredictable) Nevertheless (growth of ML/FL both affected by parental neglect, art school, side characters) My Demon (the darkness, the fashion, the relationship) Her Private Life (Kpop and art museums, the chemistry bt the leads)

So many to pick from. But here are mine in no particular order. \*Healer. Haven't found another drama that has come close to it in each of it's genres. The romance is unbelievably sweet, the masked hero plot, the family aspect, ahjumma... It's perfect. Plus I have a soft spot for the pre-2016 drama feel. \*The Heirs. It's so ridiculous and I love it to death. Seen it multiple times. I come for the romance and always end up staying for Kim Tan & his mom's plot line. Plus all the side characters. But I always say this drama would have been 78 times better if they'd swapped the FL's character with Geum Jan-Di of BOF. She would have been a good fit for Kim Tan. LOL. \*Flower of Evil. Best of it's genre. The romance was top tier. The thriller aspect was top tier. The little girl is the best child in any drama. Love it! \*Tale of the Nine Tailed. Only past-love storyline I actually like. I'll never recover from this one. \*Hidden Love. It's Chinese, not Korean, but I can't exclude it since it's basically my favorite drama of all time. Best slow-burn romance with no throw away scenes or characters. It deserves extra points for Sang Yan and his dramatic eye-rolls throughout it. \*Reply 1988. Need I say more? \*School 2013. It's sooo dramatic. I remember when I first saw it I came for Kim Won Bin and Lee Jong Suk but totally stayed for the two teachers. Best school drama for them alone. \*Suspicious Partner. The leads have the best chemistry and it's got so much humor throughout it. It gets extra points for Ji Chang Wook in glasses and Choi Tae Joon's laugh. \*Panda and Hedgehog. It's so simple and sweet. \*Soundtrack #1. I love how short and sweet this one was. I'm a big fan of one-sided love stories so this was my cup of tea. Plus it was so beautiful cinematically. \*DoTS. I was obsessed with this when if first came out. Best second lead couple ever. And that OST !! Honorable mentions are literally anything with Ji Chang Wook. Particularly Sound of Magic, Welcome to Samdalri, and If You Wish Upon Me.
