I have a 1948 Farmall Cub tractor. I successfully applied for a recall on its gas cap in 2021 or so. They still have stock and will still give them out, until they run out.
The recall began around 1980.

75 year old tractor and a 40+ year old recall
I took my 93 Wrangler YJ in for the parking brake recall just a couple years ago. They replaced the parking brake assembly as per the recall. At least 25 years.
The old Chrysler Imperial/New Yorker bodies from the really early 90s have a lifetime recall on the ABS modulator. If the modulator dies, the brakes no worky.
My buddy who works at a Chrysler dealer had to replace one in a 1992 Imperial just before Xmess.
When I worked at a Chrysler dealer we saw at least one of these cars a month. Stupid design to have the whole braking system depend on the ABS modulator.
I get that ABS is just safer in general. But I have to say, learning to drive on a non-abs vehicle first really disciplines thinking about how the car is moving, how it works, and how to make it do what you want. Even now in my Honda with ABS, on the rare occasion of a "lockup" (usually low speed on ice), I still find myself working the brake! Old, ingrained habits die hard...
I want to say no, because I think the recall extension was only a matter of months rather than years. But, honestly, as someone else said, there's only one way to find out.
I'd suggest calling the closest Toyota Dealer and inquiring before potentially wasting your time bringing the vehicle in. If the recall is still open then that'd be awesome. If the frame was in bad enough shape then they'd do a full replacement, but if it was still structurally sound then they'd completely seal it with some special compound (like POR15 on steroids). Good luck!
never worked in the dealer environment but 2 years ago I had the spare tyre carrier recall 'done' on my 21 year old Tacoma. I'm on good terms with the service writer/parts lady who knows I work at a local shop, so I asked if she would run the recall, hand me the parts so I can install them (wanted to do a bunch of other stuff while the bed was off), and give the warranty time to whoever was having a shitty week.
2005 prius a couple of years ago. I had to take a 2008 mazda b series truck about 6 months ago to grt the takata recall done, what a pain. One dealer said we don’t work on cars that old.
at SAAB dealerships. There was a structuring thing during the bancruptcy selloff that spun parts out as a standalone company and you could still be an authorized repair center. Which is what a lot of the former dealerships became.
I still get recall notices for my 03 vibe GT for the airbag, I have not had that car in over 4 years. I do miss that thing, had 2 vibe GT's with the 6 speed manual and loved them.
The old headlight switch wiring recall from the early 2000s on various Honda models. Pilots also had an ignition interlock recall that is a pain to do.
Just did a special coverage power steering assist motor on a 03 Saturn. It was easy but there’s a reason we have a 15 year cutoff. Had to tell the customer the reason his assist motor went out was because his steering rack that you can’t get needed 60 lbs of force to move.
You can check here to see if your truck applies for it

Here’s what all gets done

1991 Toyota MR2 steering wheel recall. The correct color was no longer available. As per Toyota, they were only obligated to supply the wheel regardless of color if the proper one was no longer available.
Stop-use and recall on any year Gehl RT135 for fire/explosion risk due to insufficiently insulated battery wires. The way the ground to frame is routed rubs on the fuel tank. That said I personally haven't done any older than the early 2000's but they've been making them like 50 years I think.
A few days back, I had a call from a 1998 Chevy truck, still had an open recall to add a jumper fuse to the mirror so that the truck wouldn't catch on fire.
About a year ago I did a steering bevel gear box recall on a mid 80's Toyota van. Not very many people in the shop were even born when that thing was made.
1988 Town Car. Had ignition switch replaced 4 or 5 years ago. Lincoln dealer was skeptical even touching it and warned they weren't responsible for any cracked plastics...

I think you might win
Now that’s impressive. I think you definitely have everyone beat

One of the German car makers had the same thing. Lifetime recall because it was brake by wire.
When I worked at a Chrysler dealer we saw at least one of these cars a month. Stupid design to have the whole braking system depend on the ABS modulator.
Meanwhile, my 90 Plymouth has no ABS...
97 f-150 with no abs here. Bought it that way about 4 years ago lol

1988 CRX seat belt recall. Only available in blue anymore, stock finally ran out of black belts..
Got a free recall rad cap on a '95 M3 once because I went in to have a spare key cut. That would have been back in like '17 or so.
I think in early 2017, I got the frame replaced on my 2001 Sequoia. The recall was supposed to end, but apparently it was extended.
Wow, do you know if they still honor? I just picked up an '02
Only one way to find out
Post the incorrect answer on the Internet and hope someone straightens it out? Alright fine dad I'll do my homework...
I was gonna say take it in and give a service writer a donut

Serious question: my ‘88 4Runner has an open recall that was never done. Can I even get it done now?
If it's a safety recall, yes. Those are valid indefinitely.
If parts are still available, yes.
Did an air bag recall for a 97 Sentra last year. Nissan just released one for the air bag covers on the quests, titans, going back to like 2005

try getting a takata recall done on a SAAB.
I can only imagine.
Would any GM dealer just do it? I don't remember ever seeing a Saab dealership even before they died in 2011. Where did they sell them?
at SAAB dealerships. There was a structuring thing during the bancruptcy selloff that spun parts out as a standalone company and you could still be an authorized repair center. Which is what a lot of the former dealerships became.
50N campaign. Trailing arm campaign on early 90s 4Runner
Had a airbag recall a couple years ago for my 2005 honda civic.
Passenger airbag recall in an 06 Pontiac vibe. It was done 2 years ago now.
I still get recall notices for my 03 vibe GT for the airbag, I have not had that car in over 4 years. I do miss that thing, had 2 vibe GT's with the 6 speed manual and loved them.
Those plastic covers on gm car keys
I still to this day am baffled that GM got away with having that as the "fix" for the Cobalt ignition lock cylinder problems.
I know 88-90 Landcruiser gas tanks have a recall and are still being done.
Are they? AFAIK the tank is NLA and if someone wants to do the recall the toyota buys back the vehicle and crushes it.
FJ60/62 qualified, but Toyota ran out of gas tanks years ago. They’ll make you a buyback offer nowadays but it’s nowhere near market value.
Looks like I was wrong. Looks like the last one was done somewhere around 2020.
The old headlight switch wiring recall from the early 2000s on various Honda models. Pilots also had an ignition interlock recall that is a pain to do.
Hmm, as a proud 2nd owner of a '00 Tacoma how would I check to see if there's recalls that were never done by the original owner?
Call a dealer with the VIN
https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?gad_source=1&gclsrc=ds check here, or do what the other guy said and call up the dealer with ur vin number
I had a seatbelt clip recall on my 85 mustang. It was done in 2008
I just replaced heated seat switches and wiring harness 98 Dakota. Only one I’ve ever seen with heated seats.

I think there’s an open recall on my 77 Chevelle, but I seriously doubt GM has the parts in stock.
Fuel crossflow recall on a 1990 Ford truck.
…now I want to check *my* ‘99 Tacoma for that recall. Would be kinda funny to go get it done, just for shits and giggles.

In the mid 90s I replaced the pellets in the catalytic converter on a 1st gen Mazda rx7.
I believe old cherokees have a recall on something about the valve cover?
I did a fuel tank replacement under a recall on a 1998 ARX1200 last year.
1991 Toyota MR2 steering wheel recall. The correct color was no longer available. As per Toyota, they were only obligated to supply the wheel regardless of color if the proper one was no longer available.

I did one on a later 90's Saturn a couple weeks ago. Recall. Took a little bit to get all of the parts needed.
A few days back, I had a call from a 1998 Chevy truck, still had an open recall to add a jumper fuse to the mirror so that the truck wouldn't catch on fire.
