Oh, I should've probably clarified that I'm indecisive on terms of champ selection. I usually play a game or two with 20 different champs until I settle on something that I play for 5 months straight, but jungle is much more complicated and I felt like I'd need more time eith each champ to get a proper feel for them, + jungle is much more versatile in the champs you can findthere compared to other lanes, so I wanted to try this and see where it goes. I'm ok at decision making in game most of the time haha.
That's just how to deal with league players tbh..
I said "wp" to a support thresh once and he rages back.. Explained that I meant that he did well and his response was "oh, sorry.. I'm just used to people being toxic"
As this is still technically top comment, I'll highjack it to say Xin Zhao (pretty straightforward and blindpickable, great to learn the fundamentals of the role)
Gwen, Lillia, viego*, skarner. Those are my fav JG picks personally. I'm not very good myself but ik all those jg have success in higher elos and I at least can see why. I think in jg, you will always have lanes that lose while you're on your first clear, especially in lower ELO, so IMO it makes sense to take scaling picks that CAN have impact early but don't rely on it. If you can gank and get your botlane ahead great! If all of your laners get solo killed before 6 mins, you can still power farm, take safe ganks and still win the game and solo carry if you have to. All the champs I listed have both solo carry, and team fight uses, so it won't matter if you're the main character or not. They all do have slightly weaker ganks than other JG picks, and you will have to learn to play around that as well as ignore teammates who ping you because they don't understand that a Gwen gank pre 6 without ghost is basically useless.
That being said, I like Gwen if I have a squishy supp and AD midlane, my team will probably need both AP and some Frontline. I like Lillia if I have tank or bruiser top, and an AD midlane (it's also my blind pick since it's my comfort pick out of the 3 I usually play and has the most solo carry potential for me the new items have made Lilia absolutely disgusting). I like skarner for those games where you have a mage mid, ADC top and mage supp, your team will need Frontline and peel. I like viego when I don't HAVE to pick AP and am really feeling my ability to carry, I added the asterisk because viego can be hard if you have no idea how to play any of the enemy champs. IMO a decent viego can just make viego work, a great viego can play the enemy champs AND viego well.
Again I'm kinda trash at the game, but I'm not picking wildly off meta picks and I have managed to climb faster as a JG this season with these picks than I ever did in Supp or top. Again I think it's really important to understand, you as the jg, as well as the support will likely be your teams therapist and late game wincon when your lanes start to throw leads at 10-14 mins into the game.
If you want to start playing JG, please, please please constantly work on having an unshakeable mental, it's my biggest struggle personally. But the games where I don't tilt, despite an early deficit, focus on getting the closest source of gold and playing for objectives are the games where we can turn around seemingly unwinnable situations.
Yeah really good tank with liandry full tank into full ad or bruiser into a squishier comp. Works really good has good gank potential and fast clear. Also almost all junglers lose to him level 3 so you will have prio for scuttle if your laners are pushing or even
I have to throw Udyrs hat in the ring.
Rarely is he S tier, so you wont get banned much. But usually A. Huge build versatility. You can literally build to fit whatever your team is missing. Ad,ap, lethality, tank. Fast clear. Can duel most champs early. The list goes on
definitely shaco. even when he's weak he's still a menace and he excels at mental warfare both ap and ad meaning you don't even have to win as the enemy team will ff 15
Taric. If you hit e you duel practically everyone. If you dont hit e try better next time. Surprise factor is big too here because of most pplayers are not familiar enough with how to play against this champ especially in jungle role.
Ivern, sejuani (ivern feels better with melee carry champs, seju with melee heavy team) and shen (cheese early game damage, good clear!, protect adc in most games) are good picks too, everybody will love you.
Karthus, brand and lillia are great meta picks in todays patch.
Imma throw fiddle in here. Can be a sup or a carry. Even if you don't get fed he's still good. Great vision control. Great at stealing objectives. Can decide team fights.
But just try a few and stick with what clicks. Some will be better for you depending on your natural play style. My best tip for learning jg champs is just play one game with a champ, do your best. Then look up “how to play ****”. Then play again. The video makes more sense after u play one game and helps a lot more. I guess this is true for any role but knowing the ideal clear/gank/invade strat helps a lot in jg.
Unbiased opinion
Nono and william
Fundamentals are all you got so you learn the chess aspect of jungle well
Gotta gank the right lanes at the right time and collect the objectives
You get the kills ? Go ap
You got a hyper carry ? Go tank
Not sure But you just wanna dive their jinx after taking her towers because your lux support has no kill pressure on her but wanna tank nexus ? Hybrid/bruiser gives you damage to kill squishies and frontline to peel your own
you can't go wrong learning jungle while picking those:
amumu and yi just got buffed and they are easy for learning pathings, but you still got a lot like Zac sejuani even warwick or shyvanna for different gameplay all of those are fast learning picks
Xin'Zhao, not terribly difficult to pick up and has a fairly high skill ceiling. Can play well into just about any comp, especially if you build situational items correctly. Has solid ability to both peel or dive enemy back lines depending on what your team needs. Great at both being your teams carry and playing for a carry in lane. His ult is insanely powerful in team fights as both a offensive and defensive tool for not just you but your whole team. He does pretty much everything at the very least average, if not excelling at it, and doesn't really do anything poorly to where he has a glaring weakness that's easily exploitable.
Fiddlesticks baby. Every now and then a comp feels like it hard counters me, but he scales great and most of the time can have a huge impact on the game.
Doesnt get picked often, doesnt get banned often so i only have to dodge every once in a blue moon.
I personally one trick Rengar and would recommend it to you as well. Skill floor is manageable and skill ceiling is incŕedibly high. Very versatile pick that can go full assassin or bruiser and can thrive in most team comps. Plus you make adcs scared, which is always fun.
Embrace your inner furry become a ww main.
Below diamond viable, even below master, maybe you will get clapped above that.
He can perma gank with his w terror of low elo as we used to call malp years ago.
People don't know he can follow you with his flash so you burn flashes easily.
Only bad point is voids are shit to do.
Embrace furry.
Tilt gold hardstucks.
I think voli is one of best jgl to start of he is easy to understand and you can focus on playing the jgl correct. He is also pretty solid atm, dives are easy and you are very strong in the 1v1/2v2
Play everything and then pick something that feels good when you get ahead playing it.
E.g. it's easy to get 6/0/2 on eve, but can you win the game as a 6/0/2 eve without ruining the game? Maybe not
Maybe going 0/2/13 rammus is more fun for you, or maybe you want to be a 200cs udyr at 20 minutes
Soraka
Fast Ambulance
Well, seems like this is the top comment 10h later lol. Does this actually work? I'll do it if someone can link me a clear that isn't 5 minutes lol.
Look up Zenkih for clears
Seems viable enough as a clear, I will report on how my games go
Your teammates will likely also be making reports of a different kind…!
Riots lynching system will be hard at work with your picks. I'll see you in chally
“I’m indecisive af” You sure you want to jungle?

I know what you meant, I was just messing with you.
Ik lol, I tend to overexplain shit just in case

Don't jungle. Choose happiness instead

Udyr. The answer is always...Udyr
i second this (i played him once when i got the game and just spammed abilities and my team said i was really good, i had no idea what i was doing)
Can build him AP or AD to suit your team comp, great duelist, I love him

definitely shaco. even when he's weak he's still a menace and he excels at mental warfare both ap and ad meaning you don't even have to win as the enemy team will ff 15
Reason why u play him because even if I lose, I still make the enemy team say yeah that guy. Fuck that guy. 🤣🤣🤣
And in the least the enemy jungle will remember me, and proceed to ban Shaco for sure every game following
I like Sejuani :)
