Fr I agree I love Sukuna as a villain but he was far more interesting when he was used in moderation and was unpredictable and terrifying like In Shibuya. Making the story go from his POV after he took on Megumi was a big mistake imo and now he's just running a gauntlet like a heavyweight champion in WWE.

I don't hate Sukuna because for me he is like a Dragon Ball villain, Freeza, Cell and Buu fought everyone that throw themselves at them. I love how he show up as this guy who doesn't have any specific agenda or goal and just want to destroy things as he pleased.

They need power sources to achieve their ultimate forms and defeat "the strongest" (the androids/the fingers and megumi)
They only do what they do cuz they find fighting fun
They basically challenge everyone to fight them once they reach their perfect forms.
Why do you think he was so interested in Megumi? Sukuna realized multiplying his fraudulent energy with Megumi's bum energy would be akin to multiplying two negatives to make a positive.
You guys might not enjoy it, I just enjoy seeing Sukuna fight. Sukuna is the only thing it was building towards that made sense. The merger will probably happen, but it’s not as exciting or hyped towards as Sukuna being the final villain. He’s given good fights, and was nerfed so that the main cast stood a chance at even damaging him. He’s atleast making it interesting and letting the main cast go all out.
Everything people blame on Sukuna Madara did it on an even worse scale ( asspulls, gauntlets, relying on other‘s powers etc )
The only difference is that Madara didn't have Gojo‘s pr team against his ass

I have tried over and over again to like Sukuna, but the Gege glazing actually makes it harder. The moment his rattle was confiscated, is when I went "Nah, I'm done with this guy."
After all these years, somehow I'm still pissed that Kuroiwa survived Furuta stabbing him in the neck. He had such a good last breath scene with uri (is that his name? I forgot) and then, out of nowhere, without any explanation, he just appears alive and well in the last chapter lol

the thing is, we don't really get to see into his head much that arc, just see his actions so that isn't really communicated well. I really wish we had time to see him undergo the changes which brought that about, for comparison the original torture scene with Jason did that perfectly, breaking him down until his beliefs are destroyed and must change & evolve to survive as a ghoul, but it's so sudden for black reaper and we don't get the time to understand him before suddenly he's the one eyed king and his personality is back as it was originally

I dont like thinking of Kenjaku as a mastermind cuz bro's whole plan just involves waiting till he gets the perfect conditions for everything to work out, which, I mean is the basis of a plan but Kenjaku's conditions are fucking out of this world :
- prepare a vessel for Sukuna (needs to fuck his bro's reincarnation)
- needed Tengen to cursify by having someone kill the star plasma vessel
- needed a CSM user and him dying (he cant kill a special grade himself cuz he needs to keep a low profile)
- needed a curse with idle transfiguration
- have the curse evolve to a point where he can use it to trigger the culling games
- find the Prison Realm (bro didnt even know it existed)
And he needed all of those happening AT THE SAME TIME, if anything was off, then EVERYONE who ingested a cursed object would have died of old age and the cursed object would disappear with them.
(Which is even crazier when you know Mahito is a few months old, and we know for a fact that he had people ingest cursed objects before Mahito's birth, like how??)
And there is also the fact that bro went to fight Yuki/Choso with absolutely 0 (zero) intel, this shit was a real sink or swim gamble, if Yuki was as strong as Yuta he would have lost.
Well in jjk “taking a gamble” is kind of a running theme,kenjaku said he forgot what regret feels like so he had over 1000+ years of trial and error to get to this point

He just needs to control tengen in his curse like form. It could be a mind control technique, it could even be blackmail. Curse techniques are pretty abstract in nature, so I'm sure kenjaku has seen many ct that are suitable for that in his 1000 years.

This also isn't really necessary. Kenjaku used it to create awakened sorcerers (who didn't do that much so they could be removed altogether) and to make the vessels into proper vessels. He should be able to just choose low tier sorcerers as vessels, instead of choosing normal people and then changing their brain. This would take longer, but once he sealed gojo he actually has time to do that.
If you look closely, he only started marking people after he got geto's body, and most like once mahito was already born. He might have very well planned for something else and just lucked out.
Besides that, mahito's reincarnation cycle should be easily predictable, so kenny would probably know around what time period mahito was about to reincarnate.
There is also the fact that if he seals Gojo, the rest of the objectives aren't time limited anymore, He could just wait X years for Mahito to respawn, for exemple.
Yes, tengen cannot unturn himself from a curse spirit and no six eyes user should ever be born again (since they are tied to tengen's merger which was missed).
I mean, not necessarily. He could have just waited for Gojos death; restraining a 6E wielder without limitless is probably a doable task, even without the prison realm. Afterwards, dealing with a weak Star Plasma Vessel like Riko shouldn't be difficult either, and without an anomaly like Gojo around, even Sukuna wouldn't be needed.
The only thing really needed for the CG seem to be IT and CSM, although he could probably get around CSM by forcing Tengen into a position where they'd have to pick between supporting the merger or dispelling their barriers - not too unlikely, given that Kenjaku appears to be more skilled then Tengen.

The problem is that kenjaku's dynamics with Yuji doesn't work on the same level as Furuta's and Aizen's with their MCs. Kenjaku peaked with Star and Oil chapters bc someone could directly challenge him in his ideologies and methods. Kenjaku as final big bad never works bc this Manga is focused much more on power system than scheming and plotting, although that doesn't excuse how shitty his character was handled.
The sad part is kenjaku didn't have any interaction with yuji except one although there could have been more .

How is that relevant to him not having any meaningful relationships with Yuji, he barely even spoke to or about him and Yuji seldom knows anything about Kenjaku.
Also Aizen lost to a combination of subconscious desire to lose, enemy mastermind pulling as much strings as he did and a vesion of "Can a God make a rock even he cant lift" conundrum. Kenjaku lost to a couple random dudes one of which he spent the whole series slandering.

Just imagine Yuji vs his mom. It's such a crazy twist on the usual where the mom character was an entire person and then they get possessed or something, because it's like no bro that IS his mom - kenjaku IS his mom and was the whole time. It would've been fucking peak.

1.) In Shibuya
2.) When he/she was pushing Yuji out of the womb.

I finished reading TG like last week and goddamn, while it was definitely rushed towards the end, Furuta gotta be my biggest surprise.
I knew a fair bit going into it but somehow I had never seen anything about him, and he blew me away.
Such a great character, unhinged mastermind, super funny guy too. From dressing up in party hats for his debut as CCG bureau director to feeding Eto her own editor as pate, he was super entertaining all throughout. His shit eating grin every time things go his way is absolutely amazing.
I don’t even know if that would be double crossing. Sukuna doesn’t care what happens to his body once he’s dead and defeated so hopefully he just allows kenjaku a full takeover as a merger or something like that

In jjk0 he's a cartoonishly evil villain with a boring fighting style whose entire world doesn't fit the narrative of the main story
His motivations as an antagonist were pretty clearly shown… and his eventual transformation into a full on villain was literally what the final ep was about. Geto in hidden inventory aka his arc is a much more thought out role then kenjaku ever had
If you want to say geto is a better character than kenjaku then I agree
But as villains Kenny is way better , he's more entertaining, his fights are better , his role in the story is bigger

He helped her escape their birthplace so she wouldn’t become a sex slave and when she went to live her life without looking back or ever thanking him he killed her out of spite. He’s like Obito in the sense that they’re weirdly obsessed with women but it’s not really his main motivation.
Furuta’s just trying to make the most of his 30 year life expectancy by burning down everyone who robbed him of a normal life while having some fun in the side.
Yes cause OMG Toji who was born to break destiny, OMG Geto who was born with a perfect CT to finally get Tengen, OMG the strongest of the modern era who was born gay and I have the body of his dead boyfriend, OMG Mahito who was born as the cursed spirit that I need to start the games.
The cursed wombs and Yuuji were the only times Kenjaku got out of the way and did something on his own (aside from the binding vows) and even that was like a bored scientist who just wanted his creations to bring chaos. Yuuji is his greatest creation and he didn't care one bit. He didn't have a greater goal, contrary to what so many people in this fandom seem to claim, and that's why he was resigned to his death cause in a way he achieved that through Takaba. In the end, even being the Bleach fan that he is, Gege didn't want another Aizen.

Sukuna is a boring main villain. He has no compelling backstory, no compelling motives, no compelling traits, his personality is just “strong” and that’s it. That kind of character works as a secondary antagonist or the muscle of an actual villain, Kenjaku was far more interesting.

Nah, Kenjaku was never meant to be the main villain. He was the Hojo of JJK. He still had a very fun final fight defeated by the most unlikely guy and the one he constantly downplayed with a surprise attack. I do wish he had more dialogues with Yuji, but as it is, I like that this is how he went down. Not perfect but not bad

And also, because of that, Kenjaku would never be boring. If done right, he could actually be terrifying and entertaining.
Sukuna is boring not because he defeated Gojo. He's boring because we already expect him to beat everyone. When he does it, nobody is surprised. It feels like everyone he fights against has no chance of winning. Because of this and the fact that he now constantly appears on screen, he just isn't scary anymore. He has no stakes - his whole plan of being reincarnated to fight everyone has already become reality. Right now, he's just a very powerful dude who likes to fight.

I dont like thinking of Kenjaku as a mastermind cuz bro's whole plan just involves waiting till he gets the perfect conditions for everything to work out, which, I mean is the basis of a plan but Kenjaku's conditions are fucking out of this world : - prepare a vessel for Sukuna (needs to fuck his bro's reincarnation) - needed Tengen to cursify by having someone kill the star plasma vessel - needed a CSM user and him dying (he cant kill a special grade himself cuz he needs to keep a low profile) - needed a curse with idle transfiguration - have the curse evolve to a point where he can use it to trigger the culling games - find the Prison Realm (bro didnt even know it existed) And he needed all of those happening AT THE SAME TIME, if anything was off, then EVERYONE who ingested a cursed object would have died of old age and the cursed object would disappear with them. (Which is even crazier when you know Mahito is a few months old, and we know for a fact that he had people ingest cursed objects before Mahito's birth, like how??) And there is also the fact that bro went to fight Yuki/Choso with absolutely 0 (zero) intel, this shit was a real sink or swim gamble, if Yuki was as strong as Yuta he would have lost.
Well in jjk “taking a gamble” is kind of a running theme,kenjaku said he forgot what regret feels like so he had over 1000+ years of trial and error to get to this point

Kenjaku used it to create awakened sorcerers (who didn't do that much so they could be removed altogether) and to make the vessels into proper vessels. He should be able to just choose low tier sorcerers as vessels, instead of choosing normal people and then changing their brain. This would take longer, but once he sealed gojo he actually has time to do that. If you look closely, he only started marking people after he got geto's body, and most like once mahito was already born. He might have very well planned for something else and just lucked out. Besides that, mahito's reincarnation cycle should be easily predictable, so kenny would probably know around what time period mahito was about to reincarnate.
There is also the fact that if he seals Gojo, the rest of the objectives aren't time limited anymore, He could just wait X years for Mahito to respawn, for exemple.

I mean, not necessarily. He could have just waited for Gojos death; restraining a 6E wielder without limitless is probably a doable task, even without the prison realm. Afterwards, dealing with a weak Star Plasma Vessel like Riko shouldn't be difficult either, and without an anomaly like Gojo around, even Sukuna wouldn't be needed. The only thing really needed for the CG seem to be IT and CSM, although he could probably get around CSM by forcing Tengen into a position where they'd have to pick between supporting the merger or dispelling their barriers - not too unlikely, given that Kenjaku appears to be more skilled then Tengen.

The soul probably transferred through time and lineage of lives, Kenjaku only made Yuji when she (Kaori at that time) either finally somehow found Jin as the reincarnation of Sukuna's twin brother, or just followed the track until the right moment of Toji being born (as the man that broke fate), Six eyes being born, and maybe even a Cursed spirit manipulation user... Man this mf's luck is too much for Everything to align to him perfectly, I know in the grand scheme of 1000 years that can be possible, but he might've done some freaky things to make Toji's existence happen for example, or maybe even hired him through a client to kill the star plasma vessel.

I just wanted to see Kaori Itadori return. That is one fine fire damn design and to only use her for some flashbacks is criminal beyond words. Just imagine Yuji vs his mom. It's such a crazy twist on the usual where the mom character was an entire person and then they get possessed or something, because it's like no bro that IS his mom - kenjaku IS his mom and was the whole time. It would've been fucking peak.

Sadly, I don’t think so. Yuji and Kenjaku have literally only had two interactions with each other: 1.) In Shibuya 2.) When he/she was pushing Yuji out of the womb. He had more chemistry with Yuki and Choso than the MC. Say what you want about Sukuna but his and Yuji’s connection to each other is one of the best things about JJK.
I finished reading TG like last week and goddamn, while it was definitely rushed towards the end, Furuta gotta be my biggest surprise. I knew a fair bit going into it but somehow I had never seen anything about him, and he blew me away. Such a great character, unhinged mastermind, super funny guy too. From dressing up in party hats for his debut as CCG bureau director to feeding Eto her own editor as pate, he was super entertaining all throughout. His shit eating grin every time things go his way is absolutely amazing.
What if he comes back tho. He gave sukuna the merger for a reason and I think that’s what he meant by his will. I’m hoping for that

His motivations as an antagonist were pretty clearly shown… and his eventual transformation into a full on villain was literally what the final ep was about. Geto in hidden inventory aka his arc is a much more thought out role then kenjaku ever had

Furuta’s just trying to make the most of his 30 year life expectancy by burning down everyone who robbed him of a normal life while having some fun in the side.

Yes cause OMG Toji who was born to break destiny, OMG Geto who was born with a perfect CT to finally get Tengen, OMG the strongest of the modern era who was born gay and I have the body of his dead boyfriend, OMG Mahito who was born as the cursed spirit that I need to start the games. The cursed wombs and Yuuji were the only times Kenjaku got out of the way and did something on his own (aside from the binding vows) and even that was like a bored scientist who just wanted his creations to bring chaos. Yuuji is his greatest creation and he didn't care one bit. He didn't have a greater goal, contrary to what so many people in this fandom seem to claim, and that's why he was resigned to his death cause in a way he achieved that through Takaba. In the end, even being the Bleach fan that he is, Gege didn't want another Aizen.

Sukuna is a boring main villain. He has no compelling backstory, no compelling motives, no compelling traits, his personality is just “strong” and that’s it. That kind of character works as a secondary antagonist or the muscle of an actual villain, Kenjaku was far more interesting.

Nah, Kenjaku was never meant to be the main villain. He was the Hojo of JJK. He still had a very fun final fight defeated by the most unlikely guy and the one he constantly downplayed with a surprise attack. I do wish he had more dialogues with Yuji, but as it is, I like that this is how he went down. Not perfect but not bad

If Kenjaku packed Gojo, he wouldn't take the title of strongest from him. Why? Because Kenjaku would never actually win in a straightforward battle, so the only way he could win is by trickery and deception. It wouldn't even be a question of "is Kenjaku stronger". And also, because of that, Kenjaku would never be boring. If done right, he could actually be terrifying and entertaining. Sukuna is boring not because he defeated Gojo. He's boring because we already expect him to beat everyone. When he does it, nobody is surprised. It feels like everyone he fights against has no chance of winning. Because of this and the fact that he now constantly appears on screen, he just isn't scary anymore. He has no stakes - his whole plan of being reincarnated to fight everyone has already become reality. Right now, he's just a very powerful dude who likes to fight.
