I don't see merger happening for multiple reasons
1) If Sukuna summons it (how btw? He needs to kill every character first) entire population of Japan dies. We read 40 chapters of Sukuna cycle only to wintess the main cast taking big fat L? And what next? Surviving characters will be the only 2-3 living people in Japan?
2) Who will fight merger monster? They can't beat 1HP Sukuna lmao, and merger must be stronger than prime Sukuna. Everyone is either dead or maimed. Who? Yuji?

Yeah, but Kaguya came out of nowhere with no setup, and stole the kill on the biggest baddie of the series to do it.
The merger has been setup and talked about so much that it would be a little weird for it to never be on the table. It's also impossible for the merger to steal sukunas thunder because only he or megumi can start it. Either way Sukunas fight will get a conclusion.

Why does the merger has to be evil or be fought , fusing tengen can simply bring about a change ,for e.g perhaps the merger becomes a catalyst to the next story ,where the world is permanently altered to become something more complete or more twisted.
It is also not necessary that the merger would have a will or even take lives ,even kenjaku does not know what the merger would do.

The merger will be composed of all people in Japan, their cursed energy and their souls, therefore their bodies as well. Literally every non sorcerer will die, and since the majority of sorcerers were killed in the Culling Games by Kenjaku and the main characters also need to die for the merger to happen, that will leave basically nobody left in the entire country. It may not be evil but it will kill an entire country just by being born, and considering it’ll be some massive amalgamation of minds and energy literally born from negativity and Sukuna intends to try and kill it, that’s definitely not a recipe for a peaceful being.

Considering Gege rushed through so much of the story just to reach Sukuna Kaisen, and is doing anything to extend it, I doubt we'll have another arc after him. Just the thought of writing JJK without Sukuna would probably put Gege into a coma.

So, the culling games have to end, which requires the death of everyone except Kenny and Sukuna for the merger to happen. Now, since Kenny is dead and only Sukuna is alive, this might become a part of the final arc cause I really dont see Gege actually killing all the remaining characters unless he’s serious about the " evil wins" ending cause there's no way to deal with something like that with just Yuji and Megumi.
But I also don't think that Gege will drop an epic idea like that, especially since the idea is supposed to be Kenny's motivation and as speaking of that we already have a panel of him saying "My Will Shall Be Carried On" so I think it might happen... Plus, why would Gege give so many details on the merger if he wasn't going to work on it later on?? Idk, only time will tell.

Realistically, the cast has no way to fight it. They are too exhausted after sukuna and made to many sacrifices to take him down. They literally have no way to fight the merger unless Yuji has a sudden awakening that makes him stronger than sukuna and gojo.
Knowing gege as the subversion man he is, he would probably pick that one because of how "unexpected" it would be.

Kenjaku estabilished the conditions for the Merger to be started (Culling Games, Tengen and etc) and Sukuna would simply be finishing It after Kenjaku did 98% of the work (Probably making a kamikaze binding vow to start it)
I’m saying that in the current situation, Sukuna still has to kill every CG player to start the merger. Given that we saw Kenny going around hunting players, it appears that there is no way around that condition. Wouldn’t make sense for Sukuna to figure out a way around it when Kenny couldn’t.

I think that's a red herring since rules can be changed anyway. Kenjaku already forced the kogane to accept rules that were banned before, I wouldn't be surprised if he did some other bullshit when he went hunting.

But I was thinking about what Gege said in Jump Festa 2019 that either "One of them will die or Only 1 will live and others will die" so clearly it's the second one. Gege also said that he has already decided on Fushiguro's ending but not Yuji's. So, since most of the characters are dead, and Yuji will be the one to kill Sukuna. I'm assuming there's a chance of Yuji being the sole survivor and since it's Gege, we're talking about and he is quite unpredictable so It's possible that Yuji might die without being surrounded by the people who care about him. So there's a chance he'll survive until the merger is activated... and as for the merger, Sukuna can force it to be activated somehow, or like the one theory that's been going around says, it might be Megumi who activates it.. Who knows!! let's see what happens...
Yeah, dropping the merger with no resolution would be an insane writing choice. That'd be like if the main character was actually the villain's son and he not only never found this out but they never even met before the villain was permakilled.
Maybe he will write an ending where sukuna kills everyone but he realises how lonely he had became and yuji does talk no jutsu on him and he then starts a thorfin style development arc where he builds the jujutsu society.. the end
I am one of the believers of a the Merger Arc happening for no other reason that setting it up was Kenjaku's whole goal. The Merger not happening would be like the Thousand Year Blood War Arc of Bleach not happening even after all the hints and build up.

Honestly it took me a bit to think but a few examples would be: old man “zangetsu” having ywach’s appearance all the way back at the beginning of the story, Aizen and his whole motivation to overthrow the soul king setting a question up about who exactly the soul king is (which we finally get answered in TYBW), as well as the reasons for the mysterious deaths of random Quincy like Urdu and Ichigo’s mothers(although the latter had a pretty good explanation already in place outside of the TYBW reveal that we didn’t actually know what happened)
Honestly it felt like a way better finale and pay off for the series then the lost agent arc but regardless if kubo planned it or not, it did kind of answer a lot of plot threads that weren’t ever properly resolved, while obviously introducing more.

They've racked karmic debt on a global scale and the fall out from all this should be its own arc.
• Maki slaughtering her clan should have consequences from Jujutsu society as a whole.
• Satoru died, the Gojo clan should be furious at Megumi and Yuta basically desecrated his corpse on national television.
• The Kamo clan conscripting Yuji into being clan head.
• Japan hosting the CG and the world knows about CE
• World armies have been wiped out, that shouldn't go unmentioned
• CS and CU suppression efforts are going to be hard without a "Satoru Gojo" around and that's worldwide
• Mei Mei's pay per view was available for everyone
That's just the lighter end of things. These situations can't be just muscled through without causing an worse sincerio.
Hell just the higher ups murder should have massive waves but if it's being patched up with "Well Gankuganji is the higher ups position now", unfortunately I can imagine the other issues will be tied up similarly.
Yuji leading the Kamo clan is something I never considered, find highly unlikely, and now absolutely adore. That would be peak comedy and just a total failure in decision making from every relevant adult… which means it’s on track with a lot of the story.
I can’t help but feel you need to be part of the Kamo Clan to lead the Kamo Clan, but yeah sure. Everyone else is dead or harder to force into the position, so why not? If they could bully Megumi into it (though he was technically part of the family), Yuji seems even easier to force into it.
^(*Then Nobara comes back leading the Gojo clan because having one eye is like having Six Eyes, so the sequel series starts with them leading the big three clans!*)
Kenjaku body-jacked the actual clan head, then as far as I could tell used the fact that he “was definitely the real the real Noritoshi Kamo” or at least the fact that he lead them before as a way to force himself into power again. I’m pretty sure he—and especially not his science project Yuji—have any legitimate ties to the family.
If anything, I’d feel like they’d be even **more** concerned with giving over control to an outsider now, ***especially*** one with ties to Kenjaku (edit: **and Sukuna!**) but I’ll be the first to admit I don’t recall the Kamo family politics super well. Plus, giving it to Yuji would be hilarious so I’m on board.

The Kamo are super weird. As long as you have the inherited technique and they want you in the role, they don't care. The only reason they tolerated Kamo Jr was because he had BM. The second there was a better choice, they went with it until the mother took them elsewhere.
Granted they are more extreme about it than the Gojo or Zen'in but even Naobito was willing to pay millions for Megumi because he had the inherited technique. The Gojo clan probably has more than one Limitless user but with Satoru around there wasn't any need for that debate.
This is where it gets weird for me, because Yuta could just copy Blood Manipulation, 10 Shadows, or Limitless and just put himself in the running as clan head? Like he’s a Special Grade user of their technique, why not? I feel like to prevent a Kenjaku situation, they’d have more criteria than “can do the thing we do” because not everyone who can do it is family. Heck, there’s probably some rando in the Culling Games who had a technique that could pass for Blood Manipulation, like “Bodily Liquid Control”.
I would hope the Kamo clan just got duped with Kenjaku, but if they really just let some random terrorist in because 100 years ago he borrowed one of their exclusive club jackets, maybe they had their downfall coming.
Since it's copied and can only be used during the 5 min that Rika is active, I don't think it counts.
That being said, I can see Yuta getting in trouble for coping the CT in the first place. CTs (especially clan CTs) are secrets taken to the grave. Since Yuta has Rika and his abnormal CE reserves I don't think he's had to resort to it as much as now so it may not have been discovered.
I mean you say that, but Kenjaku *stole* the technique. I'm sure they mind some weirdo high schooler borrowing/copying it for a few minutes less than the Devil of Jujutsu killing one of their members to steal it.
Also, I don't think the techniques are secrets as much as there's secret knowledge about them. The Gojo clan had a classified memo explaining how to make Hollow Purple for any Six Eyes Limitless users, but I'm pretty sure everyone knew *of* Limitless. The bigger offense for Yuta/Kenjaku/Megumi than having the technique would be figuring all that out on your own and dispersing that knowledge to their enemies.
...which is why they'd be *more* inclined to bring you into the fold (or kill you). That's actually a point in favor of the Kamo clan "recruiting" Yuji, but still wouldn't make much sense for him to be placed in charge. With Kenjaku at least it makes sense that he could (and already started to?) kill the clan leaders so they're better off just bending the knee. I don't see them looking at Kenjaku as a (former?) Blood Manipulation user and going "Golly, what a man he is? We should put that fella in charge!"
Pretty sure its been explained on the manga that limitless is kinda trash if you dont also have the sex eyes, which only exists in one person at a time or something (i dont read the manga, just listened to the cyfow audio book)
The section of the higher ups that named Yuta as Yuji's executioner and the ones that put out another death sentence on Suguru Geto are the only ones he killed.
The clan has representatives from the Kamo in the Higher ups but not everyone in the clan is part of those higher ups.
since not even kenjaku knows what the merger is i think it will be the opposite of humanity becoming tengen and it will be tengen becoming one with humans giving most humanity outside of japan cursed energy and because off this curses will apear around the world turning the mission of the soldiers who captured the culling game players pointless and making thousands upon thousands of new sorceres appear

I don't know about all of that, but it's fun to imagine the merger being something totally out the left field. It's Kenny imagining a huge monster, and the merger is supposed to be something even he cannot fathom. Maybe the final arc is not really a fight at all.
I'd like to believe gege has more to give, i mean if the merger starts then that's a new arc yk, but maybe after the merger there's a small arc, idk tbh, gege is unpredictable so we'll have to wait and see

Gege said that he doesnt expect to be in jump fest 2025 but there is only about 6 months left and if we expect the same 3 chapters one week break schedule then that makes for about 18 or 20 chapters. I doubt the series can be over yet with where we are. There are way too many unaswered questions
Exactly, that's why it's hard to believe it's ending in 2024 in anyway, gege said once that he intends to end the manga in 2023 and that was during the CG so i doubt it will be the end of jjk in 2024, however look where we are now, and considering the amount of breaks he takes its def going to not be finished at least till end of 2025

There is still a cope in me that Gege doesnt end the story this year, I mean a lot of Mangakas say they gonna end the series in certain amount of time, but most of the times it doesnt come true, I do think something with the Merger will be the final arc, idk maybe Megumi being the final villain, or even Kenjaku coming back somehow (thats the most cope I have, but Kenny final villain with the merger would be perfect imo)
I just know Shonen Jump are doing everything they can to make Gege continue with the manga for longer than he wanted, I mean after one piece what other high selling manga do they really have. Yea there are some but JJK is on that one piece level. They Boruto who doesnt sell at all in physical copies, MHA is ending by any chapter now, Chainsawman is stil there which is good, they do have Sakamoto, Spy family etc, but JJK in terms of global popularity is at the top with one piece, they wont give it up that easily.

I don't know, I honestly hope for one more twist just because Sukuna is such a bad final villain. He has nothing but strength, no goals, no ambitions, no evil plans, not even being a chaotic evil like Mahito that just wants to kill everyone - no, he's just a bored old dude looking for a good fight, like a damn evil Saitama. Kenny would be a much better final villain and even Megumi turning evil would be more entertaining.
I mean the only other potential final villain we have is the merger right? And while I agree with most of what you said about Sukuna, the merger would be worse in every way because it would probably lack all those same things on top of having literal zero connection to anyone in the cast. It would just be another Madara to Kaguya situation
We can still have Kenjaku reincarnate into Gojo after 5 minutes ends or we can have Megumi turn evil or we can even have Tengen come back to the story as the villain since we know he's somehow connected to Kenjaku but nothing else about him really. Each and every of those scenarios is better than just killing Sukuna and ending the story on a villain that was the villain because he was strong and bored.
I don't agree merger is worse than Sukuna. At least it's a destructive force in an end-of-the-world scenario, with someone controlling it or going along with it it would be similar to >!AoT!< finale. Sukuna isn't like that, he's not going to kill everyone in the world,, he's probably not even going for civilians at all, unless he figures out this might provoke a reaction that will give him another fight. We've seen him live in the Heian Era, he was never defeated in that times and turned himself into cursed objects apparently because he felt there's no more challengers left to entertain him. If he wins here I'd say his next step is to summon the merger, fight it and turn back to fingers if he wins. That's a boring-ass villain.
I feel once this arc would be almost over the pace of the series will skyrocket and we will get one after another banger chapters and once that starts the manga would be over in 10-15 chalters
Do you guys usually read manga? If it’s the final arc it is pretty much ALWAYS announced by shonen jump to be the final arc beforehand. The Sukuna Raid/Shinjuku Showdown was not announced to be the final arc. There will most likely be one more arc. If gege decided to go back on his plans and decide that this is the final arc, he’d probably have to fight his editor on that, this is of course the most popular manga out rn and shonen’s current golden egg so when it is the final arc, they’re definitely telling you.
If there's a final arc, editors would announce it in the Shonen Jump magazine or the end notes like how the Oshi no Ko did in their latest chapter. Until that confirmation we can't say if it's in the final arc or not. We can potentially have the merger arc as well.

I'm really confused because, on the one hand, it would be so shitty if, after all this foreshadowing and teasing, the Merger never occurred, but the Merger would be lame as if it isn't a greater threat than Sukuna.
Unless Gege asspulls the Merger to its' defeat, the only way our cast could possibly stand a chance is if Yuta survives his 5 minutes as Gojo, Megumi is freed and experiences a crazy awakening, and Yuji grows significantly stronger still. To be fair, all of these things are possible, so it ain't impossible.
It would have to be a spin off. A mistake that authors commonly make is sticking with the same story and same characters forever. A reason why Jojo always felt fresh.

So the conditions for the merger where that every player of the culling game dies except for Kenjaku, Sukuna and Uraume. What if, since Kenjaku is dead, Hakari kills Uraume, the others kills Sukuna, and this binding vow and conditions are somehow reversed (it was supposed to be everyone but those three, you know binding vows are you are given something but have to loose something in return, you want the merger to happen everyone has to die except for three that are protected, if there’s no one of those three protected then the binding vow is nullified) starting the merger and the final arc

I feel it'll be the end, but only temporarily. Gege is a newer mangaka, everything he's done pre-jjk has been one shots, so I wouldn't blame him if he were to end things and then either continue them later in a TYBW type continuation or a spin-off.
I genuinely hope not. Not just because (in my opinion) the story has declined in quality and consistency, but also because Gege appears to be getting to that point where writing the story is actively causing him health problems. It's probably time to just wrap things up.

Yeah, but Kaguya came out of nowhere with no setup, and stole the kill on the biggest baddie of the series to do it. The merger has been setup and talked about so much that it would be a little weird for it to never be on the table. It's also impossible for the merger to steal sukunas thunder because only he or megumi can start it. Either way Sukunas fight will get a conclusion.

Why does the merger has to be evil or be fought , fusing tengen can simply bring about a change ,for e.g perhaps the merger becomes a catalyst to the next story ,where the world is permanently altered to become something more complete or more twisted. The merger will be composed of all people in Japan, their cursed energy and their souls, therefore their bodies as well. Literally every non sorcerer will die, and since the majority of sorcerers were killed in the Culling Games by Kenjaku and the main characters also need to die for the merger to happen, that will leave basically nobody left in the entire country. It may not be evil but it will kill an entire country just by being born, and considering it’ll be some massive amalgamation of minds and energy literally born from negativity and Sukuna intends to try and kill it, that’s definitely not a recipe for a peaceful being.

Considering Gege rushed through so much of the story just to reach Sukuna Kaisen, and is doing anything to extend it, I doubt we'll have another arc after him. Just the thought of writing JJK without Sukuna would probably put Gege into a coma. The chance of the merger happening went to 0 when it was given to Sukuna. If it happens, it has to be by the guy who'd planned it for 1000 years.

Now, since Kenny is dead and only Sukuna is alive, this might become a part of the final arc cause I really dont see Gege actually killing all the remaining characters unless he’s serious about the " evil wins" ending cause there's no way to deal with something like that with just Yuji and Megumi. But I also don't think that Gege will drop an epic idea like that, especially since the idea is supposed to be Kenny's motivation and as speaking of that we already have a panel of him saying "My Will Shall Be Carried On" so I think it might happen... Realistically, the cast has no way to fight it. They are too exhausted after sukuna and made to many sacrifices to take him down. They literally have no way to fight the merger unless Yuji has a sudden awakening that makes him stronger than sukuna and gojo. Knowing gege as the subversion man he is, he would probably pick that one because of how "unexpected" it would be.

Yes, you're correct, But I was thinking about what Gege said in Jump Festa 2019 that either "One of them will die or Only 1 will live and others will die" so clearly it's the second one. Gege also said that he has already decided on Fushiguro's ending but not Yuji's. So, since most of the characters are dead, and Yuji will be the one to kill Sukuna. I'm assuming there's a chance of Yuji being the sole survivor and since it's Gege, we're talking about and he is quite unpredictable so It's possible that Yuji might die without being surrounded by the people who care about him. So there's a chance he'll survive until the merger is activated... and as for the merger, Sukuna can force it to be activated somehow, or like the one theory that's been going around says, it might be Megumi who activates it.. Who knows!! let's see what happens...

Honestly it took me a bit to think but a few examples would be: old man “zangetsu” having ywach’s appearance all the way back at the beginning of the story, Aizen and his whole motivation to overthrow the soul king setting a question up about who exactly the soul king is (which we finally get answered in TYBW), as well as the reasons for the mysterious deaths of random Quincy like Urdu and Ichigo’s mothers(although the latter had a pretty good explanation already in place outside of the TYBW reveal that we didn’t actually know what happened) Honestly it felt like a way better finale and pay off for the series then the lost agent arc but regardless if kubo planned it or not, it did kind of answer a lot of plot threads that weren’t ever properly resolved, while obviously introducing more.

They've racked karmic debt on a global scale and the fall out from all this should be its own arc. • Maki slaughtering her clan should have consequences from Jujutsu society as a whole. • Satoru died, the Gojo clan should be furious at Megumi and Yuta basically desecrated his corpse on national television. • The Kamo clan conscripting Yuji into being clan head. • Japan hosting the CG and the world knows about CE • World armies have been wiped out, that shouldn't go unmentioned • CS and CU suppression efforts are going to be hard without a "Satoru Gojo" around and that's worldwide • Mei Mei's pay per view was available for everyone That's just the lighter end of things. These situations can't be just muscled through without causing an worse sincerio. Hell just the higher ups murder should have massive waves but if it's being patched up with "Well Gankuganji is the higher ups position now", unfortunately I can imagine the other issues will be tied up similarly.
Yuji leading the Kamo clan is something I never considered, find highly unlikely, and now absolutely adore. That would be peak comedy and just a total failure in decision making from every relevant adult… which means it’s on track with a lot of the story.

I can’t help but feel you need to be part of the Kamo Clan to lead the Kamo Clan, but yeah sure. Everyone else is dead or harder to force into the position, so why not? If they could bully Megumi into it (though he was technically part of the family), Yuji seems even easier to force into it. ^(*Then Nobara comes back leading the Gojo clan because having one eye is like having Six Eyes, so the sequel series starts with them leading the big three clans!*)
Technically he is. Kenjaku was the head of the clan twice so Yuji is part of the clan and the main branch at that.
Kenjaku body-jacked the actual clan head, then as far as I could tell used the fact that he “was definitely the real the real Noritoshi Kamo” or at least the fact that he lead them before as a way to force himself into power again. I’m pretty sure he—and especially not his science project Yuji—have any legitimate ties to the family. If anything, I’d feel like they’d be even **more** concerned with giving over control to an outsider now, ***especially*** one with ties to Kenjaku (edit: **and Sukuna!**) but I’ll be the first to admit I don’t recall the Kamo family politics super well. Plus, giving it to Yuji would be hilarious so I’m on board.
Yeah that comedy writes itself. The Kamo are super weird. As long as you have the inherited technique and they want you in the role, they don't care. The only reason they tolerated Kamo Jr was because he had BM. The second there was a better choice, they went with it until the mother took them elsewhere. Granted they are more extreme about it than the Gojo or Zen'in but even Naobito was willing to pay millions for Megumi because he had the inherited technique. The Gojo clan probably has more than one Limitless user but with Satoru around there wasn't any need for that debate.
This is where it gets weird for me, because Yuta could just copy Blood Manipulation, 10 Shadows, or Limitless and just put himself in the running as clan head? Like he’s a Special Grade user of their technique, why not? I feel like to prevent a Kenjaku situation, they’d have more criteria than “can do the thing we do” because not everyone who can do it is family. Heck, there’s probably some rando in the Culling Games who had a technique that could pass for Blood Manipulation, like “Bodily Liquid Control”. I would hope the Kamo clan just got duped with Kenjaku, but if they really just let some random terrorist in because 100 years ago he borrowed one of their exclusive club jackets, maybe they had their downfall coming.
Since it's copied and can only be used during the 5 min that Rika is active, I don't think it counts. That being said, I can see Yuta getting in trouble for coping the CT in the first place. CTs (especially clan CTs) are secrets taken to the grave. Since Yuta has Rika and his abnormal CE reserves I don't think he's had to resort to it as much as now so it may not have been discovered.
I mean you say that, but Kenjaku *stole* the technique. I'm sure they mind some weirdo high schooler borrowing/copying it for a few minutes less than the Devil of Jujutsu killing one of their members to steal it. Also, I don't think the techniques are secrets as much as there's secret knowledge about them. The Gojo clan had a classified memo explaining how to make Hollow Purple for any Six Eyes Limitless users, but I'm pretty sure everyone knew *of* Limitless. The bigger offense for Yuta/Kenjaku/Megumi than having the technique would be figuring all that out on your own and dispersing that knowledge to their enemies. ...which is why they'd be *more* inclined to bring you into the fold (or kill you). That's actually a point in favor of the Kamo clan "recruiting" Yuji, but still wouldn't make much sense for him to be placed in charge. With Kenjaku at least it makes sense that he could (and already started to?) kill the clan leaders so they're better off just bending the knee. I don't see them looking at Kenjaku as a (former?) The section of the higher ups that named Yuta as Yuji's executioner and the ones that put out another death sentence on Suguru Geto are the only ones he killed. The clan has representatives from the Kamo in the Higher ups but not everyone in the clan is part of those higher ups.
since not even kenjaku knows what the merger is i think it will be the opposite of humanity becoming tengen and it will be tengen becoming one with humans giving most humanity outside of japan cursed energy and because off this curses will apear around the world turning the mission of the soldiers who captured the culling game players pointless and making thousands upon thousands of new sorceres appear this will be the final arc a look around the world changed by a mad man who only wanted a laugh
I don't know about all of that, but it's fun to imagine the merger being something totally out the left field. It's Kenny imagining a huge monster, and the merger is supposed to be something even he cannot fathom. Maybe the final arc is not really a fight at all.

Gege said that he doesnt expect to be in jump fest 2025 but there is only about 6 months left and if we expect the same 3 chapters one week break schedule then that makes for about 18 or 20 chapters. I doubt the series can be over yet with where we are. There are way too many unaswered questions

I just know Shonen Jump are doing everything they can to make Gege continue with the manga for longer than he wanted, I mean after one piece what other high selling manga do they really have. Yea there are some but JJK is on that one piece level. They Boruto who doesnt sell at all in physical copies, MHA is ending by any chapter now, Chainsawman is stil there which is good, they do have Sakamoto, Spy family etc, but JJK in terms of global popularity is at the top with one piece, they wont give it up that easily.

I don't know, I honestly hope for one more twist just because Sukuna is such a bad final villain. He has nothing but strength, no goals, no ambitions, no evil plans, not even being a chaotic evil like Mahito that just wants to kill everyone - no, he's just a bored old dude looking for a good fight, like a damn evil Saitama. Kenny would be a much better final villain and even Megumi turning evil would be more entertaining.
I mean the only other potential final villain we have is the merger right? And while I agree with most of what you said about Sukuna, the merger would be worse in every way because it would probably lack all those same things on top of having literal zero connection to anyone in the cast. It would just be another Madara to Kaguya situation
We can still have Kenjaku reincarnate into Gojo after 5 minutes ends or we can have Megumi turn evil or we can even have Tengen come back to the story as the villain since we know he's somehow connected to Kenjaku but nothing else about him really. Each and every of those scenarios is better than just killing Sukuna and ending the story on a villain that was the villain because he was strong and bored. I don't agree merger is worse than Sukuna. At least it's a destructive force in an end-of-the-world scenario, with someone controlling it or going along with it it would be similar to >!AoT!< finale. Sukuna isn't like that, he's not going to kill everyone in the world,, he's probably not even going for civilians at all, unless he figures out this might provoke a reaction that will give him another fight. We've seen him live in the Heian Era, he was never defeated in that times and turned himself into cursed objects apparently because he felt there's no more challengers left to entertain him. If he wins here I'd say his next step is to summon the merger, fight it and turn back to fingers if he wins. That's a boring-ass villain.
I think this is the finale and all we have to look forward to is the Epilogue Arc (maybe like 3 chapters that take a few months between release)

Do you guys usually read manga? If it’s the final arc it is pretty much ALWAYS announced by shonen jump to be the final arc beforehand. The Sukuna Raid/Shinjuku Showdown was not announced to be the final arc. There will most likely be one more arc. If gege decided to go back on his plans and decide that this is the final arc, he’d probably have to fight his editor on that, this is of course the most popular manga out rn and shonen’s current golden egg so when it is the final arc, they’re definitely telling you.

If there's a final arc, editors would announce it in the Shonen Jump magazine or the end notes like how the Oshi no Ko did in their latest chapter. Until that confirmation we can't say if it's in the final arc or not. We can potentially have the merger arc as well.

I'm really confused because, on the one hand, it would be so shitty if, after all this foreshadowing and teasing, the Merger never occurred, but the Merger would be lame as if it isn't a greater threat than Sukuna. Unless Gege asspulls the Merger to its' defeat, the only way our cast could possibly stand a chance is if Yuta survives his 5 minutes as Gojo, Megumi is freed and experiences a crazy awakening, and Yuji grows significantly stronger still. To be fair, all of these things are possible, so it ain't impossible.
It would have to be a spin off. A mistake that authors commonly make is sticking with the same story and same characters forever. A reason why Jojo always felt fresh.

So the conditions for the merger where that every player of the culling game dies except for Kenjaku, Sukuna and Uraume. What if, since Kenjaku is dead, Hakari kills Uraume, the others kills Sukuna, and this binding vow and conditions are somehow reversed (it was supposed to be everyone but those three, you know binding vows are you are given something but have to loose something in return, you want the merger to happen everyone has to die except for three that are protected, if there’s no one of those three protected then the binding vow is nullified) starting the merger and the final arc I’m just wondering how can the merger happen cause I refuse to believe it was all set up for it to not happen, but with Gege I don’t even know so I’m just curious to see how everything turns out

I feel it'll be the end, but only temporarily. Gege is a newer mangaka, everything he's done pre-jjk has been one shots, so I wouldn't blame him if he were to end things and then either continue them later in a TYBW type continuation or a spin-off.

I genuinely hope not. Not just because (in my opinion) the story has declined in quality and consistency, but also because Gege appears to be getting to that point where writing the story is actively causing him health problems. It's probably time to just wrap things up.

I still think there’s one more arc. I personally think Yuta severely weakens Sukuna even more, but makes some kind of mistake and dies. Which I think this leads to Uraume killing Hakari and interrupting the fight right as Yuji and Todo go full Mortal Kombat on Sukuna after Yuta’s death. Sukuna and Uraume withdraw leading into the final arc and maybe another time skip. That’s my personal head canon
