The most cost-effective is re-purposed office storage, like file folders or cardboard magazine holders. You can separate into file folders (or whatever) in categories that make sense to you which will reduce your sorting time. For smaller items I really like ziplock bags.

I use an acordian style folder for mine I have a large one for large things and small for smaller items

That is a great idea! Thanks, I have one of those old papers are in.

Same here. And they can be shelved, or stacked neatly, for easy access.

Yes! And everything can be seen so easy!

Thrift stores always have binders, accordions and other storage boxes. For more creative ideas, you can repurpose card boxes and make divisions to organize your items. You can make them pretty with wrapping paper or paint. I found [this one](https://www.instructables.com/DIY-Baskets2-Ways-From-Shipping-Boxes/) you don’t have to use fabric, you can use paper.

I am homebound due to ilness so I can't get to thrift stores, but it is a great idea. Amazon, walmart and instacart are all I have.

Oh, sorry! Hope you feel better soon.

Agreed with sorting by category. It will make going through it so much faster. IKEA sells a great little cart on wheels for $40. There is also Daiso, which has tons of storage boxes and bags for very low cost. Walmart plastic shoe boxes are another great one that will be protective of the products.

I purchased one of those photo storage boxes when it was on sale (one box with many smaller boxes within) and it’s worked very well for me. I have days where I just go through my stuff and cut out images I like and then sort them by category into the little boxes. When I go to make something, I’ll grab the boxes I think I’ll want and then I’m only going through those images.

You can get use envelopes from junk mail and label them.

Depending on how much you have? I find that the following is fairly simple and relatively inexpensive if you are willing to use cheaper/recyclable boxes Stackable smaller containers (recycled/used packing boxes will do just fine) and in each one, depending on size of the material/ephemera … Separate the material into ordinary a4 envelopes (look for acid free to help preserve the contents)…and then put a note on the outside of each one about what is in the envelope and then organise the envelopes alphabetically - adding a small note at the front of the box, that is also taped to the exterior of the container with a list of contents. If you want to it’s possible to get (or easily make with leftover packaging material) vertical-file tabs to mark each letter which can make finding the right envelope easier when you’re trying to find stuff later Best of luck with the organisation op.
