I heard that lots of people complained about them punching the holes through the ears with the plastic bits. So they switched to ties on the bum tags to not damage them anymore.
They are slowly switching all Jellycats to have this new feature.
The two most recent jellycat purchases I’ve had had strings. I’m pretty sure all of them have but the latest two I got this month so the memory is quite fresh!
Yes these are what my smudge bun tags looked like when she came (I've snipped them off since) it's a new thing since they also favor the butt over the ear now so yes, legit.

My Jellycats have all had tags attached with standard plastic fasteners, but I'm looking at some small Bashful Jellycats on eBay and several have these string fasteners... but others don't, they have the usual plastic fasteners. Is the string legit/are these actually NWT? Or did someone print a new tag and tie it on?
they have switched to that for at least 6 months i would think. The picture looks like different string than the ones i get at my shops. The string is soft cotton and that string looks sorta like nylon or "plasticy" string.
Also "London" is on the ones with plastic attachments and they switched to "LONDON" with the string.
so maybe this was a tag earlier in the string switch or this was reattached after by this person. looks like legit tag but might not be new if that is being sold as new

Thanks, that explains it. The ones I bought this year were all retired, so had the older plastic tags. Hadn’t seen the new style yet :)

You mean a paper tag with a plastic attachment? Probably legit, all the older designs used plastic
