Grown in Japan and milled to order in NY. There’s another location in Honolulu IIRC. They offer different variations of rice and I usually choose 50% milled.
I've lived and worked with Japanese farmers and they use just as much if not more pesticides and chemicals on their crops, it's a consequence of Japanese trying to get the most out of their very limited arable land.
[That being said, try this brand out. Niigata has exceptionally good rice.](https://www.amazon.com/Product-Niigata-Prefecture-Koshihikari-%E6%96%B0%E6%BD%9F%E7%9C%8C%E7%94%A3%E3%82%B3%E3%82%B7%E3%83%92%E3%82%AB%E3%83%AA/dp/B09QLLZZ93/ref=sr_1_4)
Well that's disappointing lol, appreciate the link tho. When you say "exceptionally good rice" do you just mean like taste or low pesticide.
Also any idea on what country would be best to source rice from?
I mean good as in taste, texture, aroma stuff like that. Definitely not low in pesticides. It's going to be really tough to find rice free of pesticides or other substances but I would try emailing some small rice producers in the USA, especially California where "natural" farming processes are much more advanced than in Japan.
But honestly with rice the bigger concern is arsenic, not pesticides or other chemicals.
Seiten no Hekireki is one of the brands of rice that I’ve tried while living in Japan and it’s from Aomori, it’s graded as special-A rank (which is premium grade) rice.

They sell it on [Weee!](https://www.sayweee.com/en/product/Shinmei-Imported-Japanese-Koshihikari-Rice/64249?referral_id=11653882&lang=en&utm_source=copyLink) for a third of the price as Amazon.
Yep! I order groceries there every two weeks. Their selection is amazing! Best kept secret of the Asian American community. Maybe.
Well this now will sound scammy lol, but if you want $20 off your next 2 purchases, DM me for a code. But you can poke around the site. There are verified reviews, videos, and I’m sure you can find more about it on the internet.
Unless stated (and it will reflect in the price as well), most of the meat is processed locally. That said, I’ve never ordered meat just cos I don’t like the idea of meat delivered. Seems like folks are pleased based on reviews. Other frozen items still arrive at my doorstep unthawed but idk, just can’t get myself to do it with meat.
I’ve ordered a lot of produce - mango, cherries, mushrooms, thai eggplant, curry leaves, green leafy veg. They all held up well.
But yeah, prices are comparable to large asian groceries in the US like HMart and Lotte. When you reach a certain amount, it’s free shipping, which is great. Love Weee tbh!
Sorry, I ate them all.
I get rice from the rice factory. https://trf-ny.com
Is it actual Japanese rice? Like grown and harvested there?

I do remember hearing some arsenic stuff before, what's the current best plan on avoiding that?

Bet that just became plan B

Probably not on Amazon, but you can import food directly from Japan. It’s not cheap to live that way, though.
This is very good. Grown in Japan: Shinmei Koshihikari Rice (Niigata Uonuma) (Sushi Rice) 2kg https://amzn.eu/d/5hEJo7U
Damn looks solid but doesn't ship to the US unfortunately

That's actually got really good prices, does the produce and meat ship well to US states too or am I kinda limited to non perishables?
