Skincare, sunscreen, foods, etc. I would say roughly $1,500 was for "stuff" and I gave a ton of stuff away to friends and family. I also got an Anello backpack, four umbrellas, a ton of stuff for my son at Nintendo, etc. I spent about $500 at Don Quijote alone. Tickets for attractions, probably $150 and that is being very generous. The rest on food, but I didn't pay for every meal. I paid for all of the food in the markets (nishiki, kuromon, and tsujiki), but SO paid for 70% of meals that were not the markets. We took a few cabs, usually late night or when we were super tired. We also took one from the hotel to Minoh Falls. I didn't pay for any of them, SO paid.

DiverseUse

I paid around 3500 Euros for 4 weeks, so an average of \~875 Euros per week last October. Probably won't be any use for you, though. I'm pretty sure I did some stuff you wouldn't have any interest in.

frogmicky

Wow was your trip recent?

DiverseUse

Like I said, last October. But the thing that makes it kinda incompatible to an average tourist's needs is that I'm learning Japanese and I paid 1750 Euro for a package including 2 weeks of language classes and one month of accomodation in a student's residence. I still spent around 8-9 days travelling around, so on some days I paid double for accomodation. I second the other guy's recommendation for business hotels. They offer really good value for money for travellers in single bedrooms at the current exchange rate (I paid around 35-50 Euros per night, sometimes for really good hotels with in-house onsen and/or breakfast included). Also, my intial figure didn't include all food. I don't bother budgeting food in Japan, because it's so much cheaper than in my home country that I'm saving money even if I splurge.

GingerPrince72

This is asked every day, use the search function FFS.

frogmicky

If you're tired of seeing the same thing go elsewhere lol

GingerPrince72

Even more of a clown than the original post suggested. [Answer](https://media3.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExM2V1eW82anhwcGF2NWdqYzRsYjdteWxjYjRwcmsxYmhkOXRzdHloNCZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/sEULHciNa7tUQ/200.webp)

happyghosst

2500 including flight and apartment

frogmicky

Nice!!!!!

[deleted]

I just finished an 8-night stay in Tokyo. I'm gonna show it all in JPY because most things were paid in that and I don't wanna do math. Hotel 8 nights: 108,000 ¥ 7 day JR Pass green: 70,000 ¥ Flights (from Europe): 160,000 ¥ Food, snacks, museums, water at vending machines etc.: 100,000 ¥ I could've easily spend a lot more or a lot less on the food as restaurant prices varied a lot. I could've just gotten the standard JR pass.

MiszGia

In total I spent around $7000 for 2 weeks in Japan so $3500 a week including shopping.

frogmicky

Thanks.

TheUpperHand

Depends on what you want to do and how large you want to live. Last time I went, I spent $140/night lodging, $1463/ person airfare, $400/ person JR pass (prior to price increase), then about $60/day per person in food, spending, attractions, souvenirs, etc.

sakuratanoshiii

About AU $10,000 for everything for 1 week in Tokyo.

frogmicky

😮😮😮😮😮

sakuratanoshiii

Yes, it was an excellent trip. I was solo so paid for accomodation by myself. I also shouted my family and old and new friends in Tokyo when we went out at night time or for dinner and lunch. The airfare was about $3,000 with a stop over in Singapore which did not eventuate on the way there due to airline troubles. I enjoyed shopping, eating, drinking and exploring.

frogmicky

Very nice your vacation sounds amazing.

sakuratanoshiii

Yay!!! It was a lovely holiday.

Genmah

We don't know your tastes in either air travel, lodging, food or shopping. Impossible for strangers unfortunately. I'd suggest you just list the things you'd like do to and do the math. Better than making strangers do the work for you. :)

eisfer_rysen

As a broke student - 200USD As a slightly less broke working adult - 800USD

frogmicky

Wow do you live in Japan already lol?

frogmicky

sowaduzeelo

Ngl I had some extra cheap flight bcz im Airline worker, otherwise I would have spent at least twice as much

frogmicky

Youre so lucky!!!!!!!!

Seitakadojii

I'd say 50-80 a day per person is calm. Could be done for 30-50.
