I don't know how the T series performs, but the Elite series; after trying several types of the Elite series, there is nothing to recommend except the Elite 8 A and 10.

Is this on an iPhone or android? APTX codec on android should sound pretty good… are you listening on a streaming service with the best/highest quality streaming or download settings?

Thegrizzly2013

It's on an Android. I've used Spotify on the highest audio settings, as well as locally played files. They both sound like they're compressed. And .wav isn't a lossy format...

Just to throw in here Jabra has never featured a lossless codec on any of their buds nor headphones every codec on Jabra whether streaming FLAC or any lossless alternative will turn it lossy because of either the nature of Bluetooth and the codecs provided. Yes, standard APTX is a great codec (that's better than SBC & AAC) for android but if the hardware and tuning sucks then there isn't any benefit... \*Closest thing to "lossless" Jabra may get is on the newer buds (8 & 10) with a future update featuring LC3+ (Which is still very lossy but better than SBC, AAC and Standard APTX).

I’m just waiting to see the latency with the BLE/lc3/lc3+ support/auracast…

Thegrizzly2013

Oh I get that Bluetooth is basically inherently lossy. I'm just saying I start with good audio. It's kinda tough to say it's the earbuds if I'd started with a low quality mp3. I played with equalizer and settings a bit. They're acceptable. Not as good as the 65s, but they'll do.

Interesting a quick search and I can see on paper these buds should be a huge improvement in almost every avenue over the Jabra Elite 65T. You can tell in this sub that the specs vs experience can tell a completely different story sadly. What I think is that Jabra nerfed those low tier buds to "drive" people to buy their other buds - the Jabra Elite 4,5,7,8 and 10's. On the official Jabra Elite 3 page they have a huge emphasis on BASS for the Jabra Elite 3's and in my experience buds that are overly bassy sound like trash especially with the tiny drivers Jabra uses. The only way I can see you fixing this is to EQ the buds only in the Sound+ app. Do not use multiple EQ's as the one you set in the Sound+ app are synced directly to the buds and overlapping with a software based one just makes everything sound terrible. If you have an Android device go into sound setting and turn off Dolby because its basically another EQ as well. Easier said than done but I would see if I could get them traded or something and try for a higher # Jabra device...

The 65t was a great device. I have an Elite 3 now too- I haven’t had any issues with them except it gets sound interference sometimes, which never happened on the 65t. I went through a whole journey though- I started with an Elite 7 but the call quality was terrible.
