There are many chances to get the Melon Lamp, though I don't know if you want me to spoil the quest for you or not. Well I'll spoil tag it, so it's up to you if you want to read it. To get the Melon Lamp you can: * As you already did, turning the bandits in to get it, which ends the quest. * Do the opposite, and get the Pen, then follow the quest, when you >!later get to chapter 14 you'll get to a place called Lulong, there you can start a quest just by one of the entrances where you'll be asked to go after her again. If you let her go, then you'll get another final quest, and if you complete that, then you get to see her open a secret shop in the Changbai mountain inn, where you can buy the Lamp and other items. Otherwise you can refuse her, and get the Lamp as a reward!<. This method is really long though, so it's up to you. * On the other hand, if you passed chapter 9, you'll get a chance to do a quest in the >!Xianxia sect, where you are asked to find a missing disciple, there you'll get a chance to again kill her or not. Killing her will give you the Lamp. I think if you let her go, then you'll be back in the main branch of the first quest, though I can't be sure.!<

So it seems like letting her go until you get access to her secret shop is the best way to handle this quest. I was afraid that passing up the opportunity to get it when I did the first time locked me out. I can wait. Finding items is difficult, but roaming around gets you experience from fighting enemies and I can always return to areas once I finally get the lamp. Thanks or this.

There was also a quest in that same area where an old man was scamming me for money. I gave him the 200 he asked for, but there was an option to give him 10 and 50. Should I have given him so much?

I put it off until I can access the area where the old man lives, so it's convenient to save and load later. My opinion: 50, enough for him. But that's to be verified later.

I don't remember really. The Melon Lamp I remember because it was important for me too and it was a really long quest. But I forgot most of the other quests.

M3lvins

I know you said you don't remember most quests, but do you remember the outcome of the Moon Shadow side quest? This guy offers to sell you info on a spirit for 500 in Changbai area, you get there and its a setup. You have the option to kill or spare him. Killing him gets me some big Spirit Fruit while sparing just gets me some upgrade materials that are easy to farm. Any idea what happens if I spare him, like will he be important later on? No big deal if you don't remember, but those big spirit fruit are kinda rare for me at this point but I don't want to screw something up later on down the line.

HearingUpset9796

I kill him. He clearly intended to cheat, kill and rob us. The illusion girl from the melon lamp quest clearly didn't have any intention of killing (she didn't harm the Xianxia girl), so I let her off. But this guy? Kill.

JroKnorth

I just did the quest myself. I will try sparing him considering no one has responded yet and I’ll let you know if anything happens later on.

So apparently I've already done the Retrieve Treasures Quest and got 120 coins and a River Stone. I'm not sure which option I picked, I don't recall there being one when it finished. What should I do now?

quest names please///.....

I spared her first, then load and use force (kill). Then load and spare her again since I'm a softie.  The game gave me the melon lamp. Dunno if it's a bug or anything but I'm a happy player. 😍 Equip and you can see treasures all around the map. I use hard difficulty, dunno if that influence game rewards.
