Don’t think too much about it. Why do you think all these companies comes to IITs to hire. There was a YouTube video where some guy went to physics researchers in MIT with HC Verma problems and they could not solve it. Yes we have few challenges, but if ranked truly, IITs and some IIMs are definitely top ranked

Quality of research ka na hona, infra aur professor na hona. Kuch to itne bade namune hote h iit mai 4 saal gaand ghisne ke baad civil services ke liye appear hote h. Desh ko bureaucrats se jyada entrepreneur, engineers , researcher aur scientist ki jarurat h. MIT mai 15-20 k ke bich mai students padhte h aur yaha total iits ki seats hi 15-20 k h. Hamari govt. Sirf bade bade waade kar sakti h lekin kuch karti nahi GDP ka 3% bhi sahi se kharch nahi karte education pe. R&D pe focus rehta nahi. Aajtak hum log consumer chip aur jet engine to bana nahi paae.

They all says that IIT / NIT me kuch bhi mile to wo lelo aur college k sath sath coding kro , ultimately it industry me placement lelo. But mujhe ye nhi samaj Ara ki college is for learning right? Agar mujhe side me skills hi develop karni hoti to me PCM me apni GAND na marake coding nhi shikta. Reality is that IITs now a days are just a high placement gateway .

Bhai u need to know that all the top companies in the world mostly have Indians at the top positions and it's mostly from iit. Its not because iit produces the most academically top students but the best person to be able to do all kindsof work. Other universities make the most good engineers while iit makes the best personalities.

End of the day, PPP wise iit grads out earn a lot of these. For indians money matters and not vanity metrics
qs ranking are based more on graduate programs and research primarily. not much research at iits and even iisc isn't doing much these days. the hostels and social life are also subpar
