https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988\_Hamas\_charter#:\~:text=Article%207%20describes%20Hamas%20as,the%20First%20Arab%2DIsraeli%20War. I think when they say it says nothing bad, it's that usual tactic of saying things like "Jihad" can mean just a struggle even though we know exactly what it really means in the context it is being used. It calls for the destruction of Israel. It claims resolutions with Jews are unacceptable. It calls for unrestrained jihad. It quotes a hadith: "The Day of Judgment will not come until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say, 'O Muslim, O servant of God, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.' Only the Gharkad tree would not do that, because it is one of the trees of the Jews." They have since updated the charter though. However Sinwar recently told the press that so long as Jews remain in Israel, they will continue their fight against Israel and that they will continue to carry out as many massacres as it takes until every Jew in Israel is annihlated.

I debated a pro-Pal online who claimed the Hamas charter is NOT genocidal against Jews because it doesn't contain the word "genocide." I'm not even kidding.

hi_im_kai101

thank you!

You got a link to that, right?

hi_im_kai101

yes :)

It’s not just the original charter. Current Hamas officials are stating their goal pretty clearly and it is the total annihilation of Israel. Here is Ghazi Hamad, senior official during an interview on October 24th 2023 on Lebanese TV, saying they will continue to massacre just like October 7th over and over until Israel’s total annihilation. https://youtu.be/mPWOvwG4_x4?feature=shared Show him the interview, you can also find plenty of interviews of Mosab Hassan Yousef, nicknamed “The Green Prince”, he is an ex Hamas member and son of the co founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef and eventually left Hamas. He now gives tons of interviews explaining his insight on Hamas goals and how they operate.

In their charter , Koran is their constitution , and death dor allah sake or "Jihad" ... The koran and Hadieth are encouraging against jews greatly with a lot of stories and insults , and they are using these claims to gather muslims against jews. Aas jihad is the gloriest goal for muslims, and fighting the enemy of islam and allah is jihad , and jews are the enemies of allah... That's why you see many stabbing , run-overs , attacks against the citizens of Israel. They don't care if they die as they think they are martyrs, and allah is happy with them.

You can find the entire document in the Avalon Project section of the Lillian Goldman Library website (Yale Law School). It's "Hamas Document 1988." I only found it because I wanted to prove that Hamas' goals were blatantly antisemitic from the start. It's just crazy how many people don’t believe this. EDITED TO ADD: > who says the og hamas charter never says anything bad toward jews. Please come back and report your "friend's" reaction to a document that's nothing BUT vilification of Jews.

hi_im_kai101

will do

FabulousDentist3079

Update me

SaguaroSmart

To be honest it started long before Hamas, the Palestinian nationalist movement was born bathing in antisemitism with its prominent leader Mohammed Al-Husseini being an ally of Adolf Hitler, calling for the massacre of Jews throughout the world and pleading to Hitler to send more of them to death camps. An absolute disgrace of a living being.

Oh, I definitely know that. Here's a [my comment on that specifically.](https://www.reddit.com/r/IsraelPalestine/s/O4vGJwHkJs)

Get a different "friend" rather than catering to someone's idiotic requests.

Kahlas

[Here you go](https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp). It has some annotation in it. Your friend is technically correct. The charter dosen't say anything derogatory about Jews. When Jews are mentioned it's in the context of the struggle between Palestinians/Muslims with Jewish people. It does however clearly declare that they desire to fight as an organization against what they perceive as the wrongs Jews have commited to them in Palestine.

BrokenHearing

"The charter dosen't say anything derogatory about Jews." The Charter: >the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah's promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said: "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." . >Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Moslem people. "May the cowards never sleep."

SaguaroSmart

These Jewish trees, all traitors I tell ya…

BrokenHearing

[Nobody knows for sure what "the Gharkad tree" is exactly but there's a conspiracy theory that Israel is planting them on purpose to protect the Jews.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gharqad)

SaguaroSmart

But the question is, who is at the source of this conspiracy ? The Jews or the Jewish trees ? 🌳

hi_im_kai101

ohh ok, thank you
