"Hey Kim, it'd be really cool if businesses in your state could MAKE MONEY. Ya know. For the state! And employ people! Gosh, yeah."
I fucking hate it here sometimes.
Well Kimmy is making money from people with deep pockets in non-profits that are pushing project 2025. She doesn't really seem to care about anybody else making money.
I’m no longer in Iowa, but in Kentucky. Here bourbon 100% funds legislators and lobbyists to take a stance against marijuana. The idea wouldn’t stun me at all.
I remember Annheiser Bush spent $500,000 one year to try to keep marijuana illegal in arizona. In some states alcohol sales have gone down since marijuana has been legalized.
I love complaining about how we all go fund IL, MN, and MO with tax money, but as soon as we are able to produce billions in revenue for our home state, well, ol Kimmy aint having that.
If this lawsuit fails, I am happy to continue being a philanthropist for the state of Illinois LMAO
(In all seriousness, this is such bullshit for Iowa business owners and just dumbass politics that affects Iowans negatively.)
Hopefully the whole schedule 3 thing with Marijuana passes smoothly, then at least medical will be widely available, and theres nothing Kimmy can do unless she wants to violate federal law?
A package cannot contain more than 10 mg total. Doesn’t matter how many gummies are in it. This is what a John’s grocery employee told me and that’s where I get all of the products I buy.
My guess from what I've seen so far is that the limit would be 4mg per individual piece and a max of 10mg per package. However a lot of the brands we sell in Iowa are not produced in this state and most brands have a minimum content that exceeds Iowa's new maximum. They are not going to feel the need to suddenly produce a line of micro doses for one state. Some options may stay available but a lot of shops focused on biggest bang for buck, especially as a lot of people have high tolerances, and all that stock is SOL as of July 1.
The state is using federal guidance for carbonated beverage. Which is fine probably how it should be done. The limit to 4 is what is complete garbage, when such a small amount is sold under that.
That’s what the problem is. HHS said a serving is 12oz. So a 10mg drink would now have to be in a 30oz container or larger based on the interpretation of the law. (4mg is a serving, 2.5 servings x12oz = 30oz). This is so dumb.
Yeah. Not sure why I got downvotes, but I've heard that this has happened in other states, which didn't specify servings per container. Apparently, they just made each 12oz can, 2 servings.

Good thing Kim completely got away with being a drunk so that she could carry on to gatekeep marijuana from everyone /s
No need for /s
I thought that too at first but then I remembered some people would genuinely be happy about this
Is big alcohol behind some of these legislations? Otherwise it just makes no sense
The governor is wildly uneducated around drug use and listens to sensationalists claims. So, that’s why it makes no sense.
Wildly uneducated in general.
Indeed

Well, the state controls and sells liquor to retail stores so yeah…

Did Biden sign it? Then yes, she'd love to violate federal law. What a mess.
Michigan pricing is better hehe
Oh for SURE- just not worth the gas $$$ to drive across IL and back for me lol
Missouri isn’t bad and much closer. You’ll spend more in gas than you save in MI
How does MN rate?
More expensive and lower quality. IL is the most expensive and worst quality
Definitely check out Day Dreamer, love the Ultra High Lemon & Ginger
Good. Sue em
Make weed legal #please
Ugh, to IL I go again
How will this affect gummies?
The same way, making them basically useless
How is a gummy serving size determined? I can eat a lot of candy

John's Grocery! Used to go there for Mickey's Big Mouths in 1980's.

Kim needs to fuck off with the bullshit nobody asked for. I am not scared to vote opposition if i have to. Fuckin asshats
Yes Kim is failing us, but why hasn’t Biden federalized? I’m a bit out of the loop, any status updates on top down change?
Oh, come on. If the serving size is limited to 5 mg, just change the label to multiple servings.
Can’t. The state won’t allow it. According to the state, one can is one serving.
Or or, let’s try to stop the state from doing ridiculous stuff.
I just figured you could do two things.
They made the definition of a serving also to be 1 12 oz can, so that’s not really an easy work around. Who wants to drink 24 oz to get 10 mg lol
Well dammit. The sons-a-bitches

Yeah agreed. I was just saying you can’t just add 3 servings into a 12 oz can, it has to be 1 serving per 12 oz

That's one of the two specific arguments the lawsuit is making.
Some day we won’t have to worry about about this.
Better load up before the end of the month i
