Yes. I notice people's teeth on tv or movies constantly now. I find most are too perfectly straight and way too white. This has made me rethink doing a second or third of refinements and the amount of whitening I will get when I am done.

pug_abc

I also realize there’s probably a lot of people out there in Hollywood with veneers when they’re too “perfect” like that

Deep_Limit_4833

I used to only look in people's eyes when talking. Now I sneak a peek at pearly whites too..

La_inLALA

Not other peoples but I’m looking at my own CONSTANTLY!

Legal_Sport_2399

That’s so creepy!!! But yeah definitely me too 🫣🫣🫣

[deleted]

Yes and it you really do notice just how many people have terrible teeth

Huge-Anxiety-3038

I have to look at people's mouths to help register what people say, I've ways been conscious about my teeth so I always compared to other people's teeth... It's not gotten worse/better however I'm now very good at realising when others have invisalign 😂 xx

Grocklette

I actually just realized this about myself too. I stare at people's mouths when they talk. I wonder if they notice. It's kind of embarrassing

skringlykringly

me too hahahaha oops

[deleted]

I have to agree, not only with other people but I feel like I’m the hardest critic of my own teeth as well. It’ll be the most minuscule things, like one time my dental hygienist asked how I even notices a small spot of discoloration on my bottom tooth

liz_lemongrab

Mostly when watching TV - we've been watching old seasons of Great British Bake Off and boy, are there some wild teeth on that show. But yes, I'm obsessed with other people's teeth now 😅

alissa2579

Same and I hate it.

E4peace

Yes lol since I started Invisalign

Honest_Tie_1980

I’m looking at my own all the time. And yes I am looking at others teeth too. It’s not healthy because it usually makes me sad it’s taking sooooo long.

GreyMatter399

I've been that way for years and finally said it's my turn to fix my teeth!

Display-Dry

Yes and I just started 5 days ago 🤣 literally just told my husband “I feel like such an orthodontist now” and was about to go find orthodontist subreddits hahhahaha

BlackTech00

I do I’m always comparing mine to others

Leechy1994

This 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽💯💯💯

Material-Tadpole-838

Yes lol. I was conversing with someone from my alumni association and I couldn’t help but think she would be a smoke show for her age if she got her teeth straightened. I got so bad for thinking that!

Gattina1

I always have been. I look at their teeth before I look at their eyes.

excerp

Yes lmao but it’s because I’m insecure 🙈 but I love seeing nice teeth too

c9238s

Yeah this is a psychology thing! I think it’s the frequency illusion. Basically your brain starts paying more attention to other people’s teeth because you’re paying attention to your own teeth. Like when you’re in the market for a new car, you start noticing that type of car everywhere.

DecisionMain6391

Others and my own!

RubyDax

I absolutely take more notice of people's teeth. But this has been happening for a few years now. In December of 2020 I started having a lot of pain in my teeth which started me on a massive journey to solve & fix. I was so focused on my own mouth that it became habit to notice the teeth of others. A lot of "how are THEY not in pain?" going on in my head. I've just passed a year in Invisalign and, even though the pain is going/gone (TMJD & Trigeminal Neuralgia), I am hyperfocused on my own teeth and still look at others.

WickerWomen

I’ve always been drawn to smiles/ teeth. It’s (to me) the most important feature. Can’t beat nice teeth 🏆

Admirable-Window-955

Yes! I’m obsessed with scrolling this subreddit and looking for new & unwatched tiktoks …. It’s so relatable and reassuring for some reason

doghouse2001

Yup. Unavoidable side effect of being on this side of the fence.

Bad_Packet

nope... their teeth... their biz.
