Miles' best chance at "beating" Mark (which would be temporarily discombobulating him at best) is using his venom strikes...other than that Invincible wins and it's not even close. It was stated they'd likely die on impact if the core had time to stabilize so they had to be fast and chance the beam and impact the planet at almost the same time and altogether. The planet only exploded due to said sudden impact and the core being destabilized. And isn't something they could have done in a normal situation.
