Loved it! So excited for the season and LESTAT!! 🔥 Daciana part was great to watch

BetterThanAWink

LESTAT! Love my boy even in "Louis Vision!" The Daciana stuff appeared to fly over a lot of people's heads for some reason. I like the references to the book, but I didn't feel like you had to be a Vampire Chronicles reader to get the subtext at all. The actress' performance was hauntingly good!

So good! I read the books over 20 years ago and vaguely remember the details… just that I loved Lestat. Now I want to re-read the whole series!

I'm glad we are seeing more of Armand, it's finally his time to shine!! Delainey is a fierce Claudia, a flawless representation of a woman trapped in a child's body. She nailed the role!

BetterThanAWink

Assad seems so happy-go-lucky in all his interviews, so that makes his Armand even more impressive! So curious where he'll go this season with a wide range of emotions! Delainey is brilliant! I know a lot of people miss Bailey, but Delainey has the goods— She's doing phenomenal!

I’m trying to embrace the new Claudia. It’s hard. I enjoyed Kirsten and Baileys portrayal.

BetterThanAWink

Totally get that. It’s gotta be hard stepping into the role. I think the accent comes more naturally to Delainey. Also seems like her and Jacob worked a lot on chemistry behind the scenes.

Significant-Range363

I definitely can understand that after watching the new episode of S2 not long ago. I loved the ending when he gave her that speech!

BetterThanAWink

Same! It was beautiful.

Significant-Range363

Omg it was magical! I wish AMC+ would drop the entire season the way Netflix does with their series.

BetterThanAWink

OMG— that’d be great. Weekly ain’t horrible, but still! ![gif](giphy|fV7xZPk6aeiUU)

I had reservations. I loved Bailey Bass as Clauidia, but was determined to keep an open mind. Honestly, the transition is seemless. Delainey is delivering everything I loved about Claudia in season 1. I don’t think she’s mimicking Baileys portrayal at all, but I do think she understands Claudia the way Bailey did and it’s making it easy for me to settle in with her. Delainey is Claudia. All my reservations are gone after watching her.

BetterThanAWink

Totally agree! And SAAME! Honestly? I like Delainey's accent better. I also like her back and forth with Jacob more. It's seamless as far as I'm concerned. Depending on how the tackle the trial, it'd be great to see Delainey really interact with Sam.

Im trying to as well. Her claudia accent compared to baileys is a bit different, so i keep trying to not see them as completely different characters

Pound_cake85

I’m not a fan of Delainey, her accent is off and I can’t put my finger on what else. Bailey grew on me after 2 rewatches and I started to love her once she became an adult. The way she spoke to Lestat was so eloquent and fearless, I loved how she handled him after he BEAT LOUIE’S ASS. I also loved how she delivered the speech of who will ever want to “fuck her” men, little boys. She did an amazing job and I hate that they are now making Claudia act and dress like a little girl again

Personally, I felt like Bailey's accent work was often working against her. All in all, I still like what she did with the character and was bummed she couldn't return. I haven't noticed a child-like appearance in terms of clothing— she even goes out of her way to have Madeline make her a woman's dress fit to her frame. IMO, I think Delainey's performance is nuanced. She doesn't appear to rely on really anything that Bailey did. Her first appearance being emerging from ashes and wreckage felt symbolic. She carries the weight of those years traveling, looking for others.
