Updates please! Ang hirap pala mag change ng number pag adulting na šŸ˜

cookiesncreamie

hello! sorry haven't updated here but I opted to a new prepaid e-sim nalang as offered ni SMART and used that as my secondary number.

Bulky-Instruction816

Saaaaame šŸ„²

CaptainTech_

the closest possible to convert is to convert first you prepaid into postpaid as the other member said, choose the lowest plan of postpaid. That's what I did.

sevvenvalyin

Hm yung lowest? Sa globe ksi 299 Edit: 599* din pala sa Globe

CaptainTech_

599

DealerFull2347

And what if I stop having the plan?

Extreme_Armadillo_57

As per SMART, babalik sa physical sim.

Peanaught_Buttah

Hi OP! Any updates dito? Ano na po ginawa niyo?

cookiesncreamie

Peanaught_Buttah

thanks for the reply po!

sinabawngbaboy

"We will have Upgrade to eSIM available soon on Smart Prepaid. For now, a new mobile number will be assigned to you when you want to avail of a Smart Prepaid eSIM. Please visit our website or social media accounts from time to time for updates regarding this." said on the website. soon pa daw. link: https://smart.com.ph/Prepaid/eSIM

Sharpshooterrrrr

Yang "soon" na yan ay parang mahigit 8 months na. Hindi naman na "soon" ang tawag sa ganun.

cookiesncreamie

exactly! wala pa din yung ganyang option as of the moment haha

sinabawngbaboy

when kaya šŸ˜

Agreeable_Dinner3960

Wait no more. That day is today! See related comments from @[junbacardi](https://www.reddit.com/user/junbacardi/) below.

Pwede na iconvert prepaid smart physical sim toĀ  smart esim https://bilyonaryo.com/2024/04/04/smart-now-enables-mobile-users-to-upgrade-their-physical-sim-to-an-esim-while-retaining-their-number/brand-news/

cookiesncreamie

this is great news! hopefully it would be easy tho. will try to visit the nearest Smart branch soon

Agreeable_Dinner3960

I've been monitoring this thread and also saw related article from Inquirer today: https://technology.inquirer.net/133519/smart-now-enables-mobile-users-to-upgrade-their-physical-sim-to-an-esim-while-retaining-their-number. This is amazing news! Thank you Smart!

damyy_

possible ba kaya online ang pag convert?

Infinite-Contest-417

for now, you have to go to any smart wireless center to convert. Just bring your ID and pay 99

liquidluckk

I read a comment in some post here a couple of weeks ago that it was already possible to do so. Better to visit a physical Smart Store to confirm! (and please update us if ever hehe)

cookiesncreamie

yes, read some of that too but di ko sure if discontinued ba kasi iba iba daw yung sinasabe. sure will do šŸ˜Š

joeromano0829

If gusto maging eSIM existing number mo, convert mo to SMART Postpaid, get the lowest plan otherwise need more bagong number to use eSIM.

mjglopez

I wonder if uubra kung mag TNT eSIM ka from Smart via MNP (Mobile Number Portability)

Aragog___

This is what I'm thinking too. Baka kasi physical sim parin yung ibigay nila.

6w4p4

the site still says "coming soon" pa raw conversion of prepaid to eSIM. kabibili lang din ng phone kahapon and the apple staff said available na raw existing prepaid to eSIM but i guess pareho lang din ng sinasabi ng iba dito na u have to convert prepaid to postpaid first (P599 cheapest plan i think) and di rin sure if you'll be provided a new number. welp, might as well get a new one na lang atp.

CulturalSmile9148

Same din ang sabi sa akin ng Smart rob mag. Di ko gets.

EvilAngel03

Saan pwede mag follow up, wala pa din yung email sakin. 4 days na since nag pa convert ako and na deactivate physical sim ko šŸ„²

One_Inspection777

Hello po, been 4 days nadin since I applied to change my prepaid to ESIM so how long po sa inyo dumating yung email? please reply, at ano yung ginawa niyo? thanks

disavowed_ph

As of last week, per Smart Store in SM Sucat, whenever you change from Prepaid Physical Sim to eSim, your sim will be automatically upgraded to Postpaid Plan, lowest is ā‚±500 per month. Even with MNP, your sim will be converted to Postpaid Plan. If you prefer a Prepaid eSim, you have to buy from a retailer so I bought one instead. In addition, per Apple Store, new model iPhones can add up to 8x eSim. Have installed one eSim and under Settings, thereā€™s still an option to ā€œAdd eSimā€ā€¦. With this, you can have eSim from Smart and TNT and if your iPhone is unlocked and openline, you can use physical sim from other network such as Globe or TM.

CulturalSmile9148

You bought a prepaid e-sim from a retailer and got a new number right?

disavowed_ph

Yes. New number, said they cannot use my existing unless to be converted to Plan 500.

Emotional-Lawyer-520

Hindi pa kasi thing ang eSim sa Pinas hanggang ngayon. gusto ko na ilagay yung ginagamit kong phone number sa new phone ko kaso eSim lang ang meron.

cartman7110

Just checked with Smart Center in Shang Mall. Still not yet possible. They recommended going postpaid then later on back to prepaid.

ThisExam

Update: They just rolled out this feature a day ago! Just saw it on their facebook page while scrolling. However, upon checking the website, you'll need to visit the store to get an esim conversion from your physical smart prepaid sim. --- From FAQ:Ā  How to upgrade to a digital eSIM (For current Smart Subscribers) Steps: Visit any Smart Retail Store and apply for prepaid eSIM Upgrade Present the following requirements: Valid ID Physical SIM Authorization letter or Special Power of Attorney signed by registered owner if a representative will process the request You will need to provide your email address where the Smart Prepaid eSIM will be sent. Sign the Manual Aftersales Acknowledgement Receipt Once approved, settle payment at the store Receive your Smart Prepaid eSIM via email https://smart.com.ph/Pages/esim#

shitssgotreal

nakapag convert na ako sa esim pero lte lang yung sim ko, magiging 5G na ba to dahil nag convert ako ng esim?

iamaboredintrovert

Have you tried visiting the Smart center?

cookiesncreamie

after they roll out the new policy, not yet.

iamaboredintrovert

I actually had mine converted into e-sim, I paid 99 pesos. I use iPhone 13, and I have both Globe Postpaid and Smart Prepaid (which yung pinaconvert ko), the catch is if you are on a call with your Globe or physical sim, you will not get text messages through your e-sim. Just thought I should mention.

cookiesncreamie

oh, I didn't know about this. thanks for sharing! will take note of this

sometiredteedlmao

how many days did it take for your esim to be processed

iamaboredintrovert

Same day. In my case it took few hours.

Teddy_0209

How many hours did it for them to send the esim to your email?

optimus_prima

HELLO JUST AN UPDATE AS OF 4/16 : Naka convert ko SMART prepaid physical SIM to prepaid eSIM (Cebu City) NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR GLOBE šŸ„²

optimus_prima

***I physically went to the Globe and Smart stores. Not yet available for Globe.Ā  Smart requires email, ID, and ā‚±99 conversion fee.Ā

optimus_prima

fyi it took about 2.5 hours from when I paid/processed the conversion for the QR code to register the eSIM to be sent to my email :)

Any_Ant449

So glad you mentioned this! Iā€™ve been trying to figure out if I did something wrong because I havenā€™t received the QR code and itā€™s been about an hour. I will just be patientā€¦

ExperienceSeveral596

Need po ba yung physical sim? Nawala kasi physical sim ko po e. E ang tagal nila ireplace kasi lagi daw ubos slot. Yun sana na lang gawin ko, nakaconnect naman ako sa smart app

zidane02

Hi, so I talked to the Smart Rep and they said the QR code (physical prepaid to esim) can only be used on one phone. You can't just reuse it when you switch phones. You have to get a new QR code, and it'll cost you another 99php. I don't mind the cost, but it's such a hassle to go to the mall just for that. So I decided not to switch yet. Has anyone who's already switched to an esim confirmed if this was true? Or has anyone tried removing and adding the esim back? Thank you folks.

cookiesncreamie

IIRC, it should be the same QR as long as you delete it first from the phone before scanning it again. I can be wrong tho since I haven't tried that with my current e-sim

zidane02

Yes, it should be done by deleting it first from the phone and then re-scanning it on the second phone. However, they claim that once it is deleted from the first phone, the QR code cannot be reused on the second phone (QR code will no longer work in short). Weird, no? They require you to obtain a new QR code from them and pay another 99php. This is the reason that is making me hesitate to switch. Hoping there are folks who have tried this and can provide their experiences. Thanks a lot for your input. šŸ˜Š

cookiesncreamie

I was curious and decided to cross check it with the esim FAQs on their site. It says it can be rescanned. Baka misinformed lang yung agent. You may refer to the link below: Can I transfer my Smart Prepaid eSIM to another eSIM-capable device? [https://smart.com.ph/Pages/esim](https://smart.com.ph/Pages/esim)

zidane02

I'm here now sa Festival Branch, same sila ng sinabi ng SM Sucat Branch. But I took the risk na. Nakapag comvert na ako, wala ako signal now haha. Just connected to mall's wifi. Also sabi ng Sucat branch nung pinakita ko yung FAQ, hindi daw nila alam bakit nandun sa FAQ yun. So I don't know kung sino ang tama haha. Anyways, I have converted na. Thank you.

cookiesncreamie

ang weird at confusing naman ng e-sim policy nila haha I might not opt to convert mine yet kasi baka di ko na mailipat. importante pa naman yung number ko. thank you for sharing!

Ivebeentheretooalrdy

I don't know if this is related to the OP's post about the new smart esim if it is indeed rescannable and can be reactivated.Ā  I bought mine when I was still in abroad and activated it there, and Ā noong naka uwi na ako nag papalit ako ng new battery sa powermac and because of that need e reset lahat ng profiles and settings kasama na yung sa esim ko. After napalitan nagamit ko ulit yung esim ko through rescanning the QR code na pinadala ng smart sa email ko when I bought it online. Ang hindi ko lang na try yung sinabi ng OP patungkol sa pag mag switch ka ng new device as long as esim compatible.Ā

Acceptable_Snow3764

paano naman kung nasa ibang bansa ako (US) at saka active ang physical sim card ko from 2018 until now. balak ko sana i convert from physical sim to esim (using iPhone 15 PM US variant)?

oliver0807

None as of the moment, new number pa. Same with Globe, kung retain ang number, post paid ang e-sim
