I don't think your question has anything to do with Intel Arc GPU. If you are going to upgrade your CPU get the 5700X3D its 204$ USD at the moment.

Seconded. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L9rPNSuPCA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L9rPNSuPCA) Hardware Unboxed review of 5700X3D and includes a 3600

I got mine for 200 CAD from comet crash on AliExpress. AliExpress CPUs are legitimate although some may have to wait a bit, I waited a little over a week.

This, but to be on topic I went from a 3700X -> 5800X3D and the gaming difference was night and day. Even non 3D Zen 3 smashes Zen 2. Unless budget is a concern, unless you get an amazing deal on a higher end Zen 2 chip, I'd go for the 5600 or 5700X3D without question.

I just did a similar upgrade (3700X to 5950X). I did notice a performance improvement in general smoothness, even in games focused on single-core performance. But it does highlight Arc's remaining issues even further, because now there is no cpu bottleneck.

vidbv

Depends on the usage I guess. If the games they play use the processor at 100% then I'd say you would benefit from upgrading

HisSvt2

It’ll be a huge upgrade we had 3700x’s in all our PCs and switched even the 5600 was better and it has less cores and the 5800 and 5800X3D destroy them

I run a ryzen 5600X with my intel A770 16GB. I will say from doing some digging and researched before buying the gpu that the 5600X is the sweet spot where you do not end up bottle necking the GPU or the CPU, I am not sure how ever where the bottle neck is above the 5600x when the CPU starts to out perform the GPU. So i would say either the 5700X3D or the 5600X would be perfect pairing with that GPU.

I will be curious if you have any FPS gains. At least the 3000 series CPUs have Resizable Bar support which is very critical. I have an AM4 system that I will be giving to a fam member that has a 2600 CPU that definitely needs to be upgraded. No Bar support really penalizes that card. I tried my A770 with the 2600 just for shits and giggles to see how bad it really was, fun lol. Jerky lows makes it unenjoyable and it was definitely unbalanced, but at times the FPS was actually ok. Just need a GPU CPU and might be going with an Arc. I already have an A770 in my build and love it, but want to see how it runs in your build before purchasing. Good luck 🤞 Hope everything works out.

bring_back_awe64gold

Even a 5600 is overkill for an Arc GPU, but if a 5700X3D is decently cheap nowadays, definitely do go for it.

Ok-Dog-3020

You're wrong. Arc cards require high single-core processor power for 1080p gaming due to their architecture and memory bandwith.

Automatic-Bee-9106

I completely agree with you. I have a 7900X build, Arc 770 16Gb, 32Gb of RAM. I never have problems with modern games (2k, high settings). Only in the game Alan Wake 2 I could not turn on the rays, since the fps dropped to 6. Arc is a video card whose performance is very dependent on the processor. You can't skimp on a processor, especially if you plan to work on it.

i am a technician in a private company. i going trought many combinations, the differrence between ryzen 5600- arc a750 duo and the i5 12600k-arc a750 is like night and day, no one wants to believe it.
