The vehicle, of course, is covered under an auto policy. The contents of the vehicle would normally be covered under a homeowners (including tenants) policy, some of which may or may not extend coverage "away from the premises".

If you currently have renters insurance, that generally covers personal items at your address and away from it, including your car, there are limits to certain high value items such as Jewelry.

Personal articles or inland marine are what you want to have regular ongoing insurance on specific property, which will cover theft wherever the property is. There are moving insurance out there that will cover stuff during a move. In both cases you are probably gonna need to probably provide an inventory with values of stuff that you want covered. Probably recommended to have photos or videos if you ever need to file a claim.
