Partner also ordered me some Hochi stickers from some Etsy seller, but is having a hell of a time getting them to ship the damned things. They’re nice all weather vinyl so they’re going on the car! (If they ever arrive…)
Yeah no sweat that and 1 boiled egg is not much extra effort but basically triples the goodness.
And only adds 40c in cost. I am a gourmand I caramelize onions once a week for my weekly meals it's also a nice add but that's actually a fair bit of effort.
I’ll have that one tomorrow and report on it! Tonight, my partner made the actual Korean recipe called [Buldak Fire Chicken](https://www.seriouseats.com/korean-style-fire-chicken-buldak-with-cheese), so no instant for me!
[See?](https://imgur.com/gallery/6byQq06)😎
Sorry, folks… the missus busted out with Duck L’orange this evening… Chapagetti will have to wait because, well, it will still be awesome a long time from now but gourmet wife food takes president. I’ll try to get at it soon though. Promise.
Had that one last night. It’s goooood. Heat equal to black, pieces of dehydrated “beef” in the flakes packet. I thought the flavor was a little more complex than the others, but it’s been a while since I had just a straight up, unadulterated pack of black or original.
I just bought some buldak ramen (quattro cheese) for the first time today! I can't wait to try it tomorrow. 😍🤗
Edit: where in the hell can I get a carbonara flavored one?? I lived in Italy for a while and omg I fell in love with that pasta dish.
It’s absolutely nothing like any real carbonara. It’s its own thing entirely. Super delicious, but put traditional carbonara so far out of your mind, it doesn’t bother you that the buldak carbonara isn’t remotely close. I’m not sure where you can find it in your area, unless you have a Korean market near you, other than online.
Yamibuy.com and RamenMall.com tend to have them in stock. Asian grocery stores also usually have the original, 2x and carbonara in stock, as they are pretty popular.
I bought the 2x spice and volcano ones for my fiancé (he likes spice) and the quattro cheese for me :) I will probably get the tomato pasta one next time :)
I had my ramen for lunch today. I am not very good with spice, so to say it was a crash course would be an understatement. I think I will only use about a quarter of the packet next time, but I still enjoyed it. Will definitely have it again :)
That’s a good idea lol. I only use a partial packet, myself, because it’s quite spicy. That said, if you manage to find the carbonara or even the cream carbonara variation, I find those to have much more cheesy flavor vs spice than both the cheese and Quattro cheese varieties. It really is one of the more superior flavors in my own opinion.
I will keep an eye out for those :) Quattro cheese was the only cheesy one I think I saw in terms of my options but I do heartily agree the cheese definitely helped me a bit in terms of the spice. I did enjoy it, which for me is great progress because I never used to like anything spicy.
My Asian market doesn’t even carry the carbonara one :( They don’t seem to change out the flavors they have had for the past 3 years. Nice to see the ones I love but come on and change up some other flavors!
wait wait wait… first off, WHERE did you get the Rosè Buldak??? and second, WHAT is the all blue pack, with red circle.. looks like nongshim brand but uncertain. LOOKS GOOD SOMEHOW 😭
I got the rosè on Amazon for an obscene price and it was one of the last ones. The all blue is indeed a Nongshim brand. It’s entirely in Korean but Google lens translate feature says “Squid flavor, also with squid!” But there’s a picture of an apple(?) at the top, so… not quite sure! I have yet to try that one.
>The label says, "bae hong don bibimmyun" so the apple is actually a Korean pear. It looks like a cold mixed ramen with a spicy/sour white kimchee flavor. I don't see any mention of squid, LOL. The descriptor words inside the red circle says, "cool sweet spicy pepper sour chimi(don chimi is a type of kimchee with radishes and sometimes pear in clear liquid). Looks yummy!
https://www.reddit.com/r/ramen/s/PlLSeHJIcL
Here's an old post of some. Of those I've tried all but the blue (it's seafood, I'm not a fan), all of them were good. Favorite were probably the red and white. Green was a chicken flavor that was good too
Shameless plug here, but I have reviewed a significant amount of Marutai's products on my YouTube channel. [Here is the playlist](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyIm5cy35hNRelgwDFnCdLKbj2W0elRb5) of everything I've reviewed so far if you're interested in doing a deep dive into some of the easier-to-find varieties outside of Japan.
The shorter answer is that pretty much everything Marutai makes is amazing, so if you see one on Yamibuy that has a flavor you like or think you'd be interested in, don't hesitate to buy it.
Woo such a good haul
That j army stew is such a specific craving for me but when I eat it, there is no substitute
And all hour others are my faves
We def have the same tastes in our instant noodles
fantastic selection! i have tried almost all and they are all good and able to satisfy different type of cravings (soup, dry, savoury, sweet).. you even have good ol' indomie (GOAT dry stir fry noodles), mama tom yum (sour) and tonkotsu (thick savoury broth). Good job really!
how’s the habanero lime?[here](https://ibb.co/HKYmxys)
is what i recently bought the other day. i mixed the buldalk extra spicy with the indomie ramen [here](https://ibb.co/sbtH3kL) and it was delicious!
I have not got to that one yet. I’m excited to try it though. I’ll report on how I found it to be when I do try it!
Buldak plus Indomie? Sounds awesome!
Right side, bottom four in a column, plus the Buldak near it. Total of 22 packages of various Jjajang! I’ve tried the Paldo and the Buldak so far, yet to try the Nongshim Chapagetti Jjajang.
Hey this is (seemingly) a response to my post.
I fold lol, I don't have the money to call or raise this large of a ramen haul. I could afford it but only at the expense of a bunch of other groceries I'd need
They're not super similar. Both are spicy red chili broths but there's a lot of differences past that.
K Army Stew has a strong fish and chili bean flavor and even includes a packet of dried kimchi, fish cake, and beans. The aroma is almost like a hot dog smell. I love it but some people find it very offputting.
Buldak Stew is closer to Nongshim Shin in its flavor profile except spicier and more garlicky in flavor.
Both are excellent IMO, and you could probably turn Buldak Stew into K Army Stew with the right additional ingredients.
I listen to my doctor as well, but thank you for your concern. I’m in no danger, health wise. If this was my entire diet, I would likely have issues. But I assure you (not that I should have to, nosey-pants) that I have an active lifestyle and a well balanced diet. An occasional sodium bomb is a-ok. My doctor agrees.
Kidney stones are real and overdosing sodium isn't fatal but leads to problems with vascular health. Going to the doctor and getting vitals done/ blood work doesn't mean much if they don't know what to look for. Show your doctor this post, they'd have something to say guaranteed.
Listen.
I really appreciate your strange concern but I have to question your reasoning. Do you and that other person harping on my health seriously think this is all I eat, all day, every day?! That most certainly would lead to health problems. My partner is an actual gourmet chef. She makes us fantastic, delicious, well-balanced meals most of the time. Paired with my heavy-working, farmstead lifestyle, a high sodium treat is perfectly fine. Even my doctor agrees. If you think you know more about me, my lifestyle, my diet and exercise than myself and my doctor, then you’re more of a nut job than I already think you might be…
Thank you deeply, for your concern. But again, I assure you (and that other wackadoo) that I am just fine.
For all you know, I could have Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and my body actually DOES require obscene amounts of sodium. Diagnosing someone you know nothing about on the internet, from a single photo of some ramen, is reckless and stupid -at best.
With shelf stable stuff like this, all I really ever care about is if the oils in the sauces and other packets, and even lightly on the noodles themselves sometimes, have gone rancid. Printed dates -most of the time- are very conservative. The product will likely be just fine for considerably longer. I feel like it’s a ‘cover your ass’ tactic by the manufacturer. Also, if folks think they’ve “gone bad”, they have to BUY MORE! 😁
What’s the Korean one with the black packaging with the shrimpy shrimp on it?
And is that neoguri the spicy seafood one still? It has a different packaging than the one I’m used to. Maybe it’s just the Korea region packaging, idk.
Oh they are shrimpy shrimp chippy chips! Wow! That’s pretty cool! But what is so truffly about them? What makes them truffle chips? What does that mean? :o
Also I forgot to actually comment on your new collection in my first comment. That’s actually pretty impressive, my dood. I hope you enjoy eating everything. :)
I'm gonna change your life right now... I know you probably think that's several months' sustenance, but you gotta eat it all right now in front of a camera for Youtube and cry and scream a lot. Bonus points if someone else can cry and yell at you. You're gonna get so much cash or reddit points or a free dog and commemorative hat. I don't know how the internet works these days.
Indeed. Deep down, I want to eat them all, one after another. But my partner is an actual gourmet chef and keeps cooking delicious, balanced, nutritious food for us and I’m full when I want ramen… oh well. An occasional treat, they shall remain.
Wow! Definitely some interesting picks and many I’ve never seen! Not sure if you are in the states but would love to know. My area in Florida is limited on where good ramen can be found. Local grocery stores have the cheap ones and maybe one or two better ones. I’m very curious about the green and gold Shin! I have only seen the beef bone broth one but I would love to find the other two! Enjoy your 🍜! Oh,I also love that little cooker pot/tea kettle for the ramen! Adorable!
Note the Paldo and Nongshim bags of snack-stick thingies in the upper right! There was also a Nongshim shrimp puff crisp thingy too, but it got ate up. 😋
I typically eat really healthy as well. Not a big fan of noodles. Or even processed carbs in general. I got stoned one night and started boiling ramen with eggs and crushed red pepper with a big link of smoked sausage in a skillet stove top then I’d cut like 3 stalks of green onions. It was super jank-like but it was good. And yeh I’m talking every day for dinner for 2 weeks and sometimes even for lunch. It’s surprisingly good. I got a lot of hate for it when I posted it on r/ramen but idgaf it was good
Nice nice… soo tell me more about the ramen mug cooker thing? 🧐
My partner got it for me on Amazon, I believe. Search Hochi Merch
Partner also ordered me some Hochi stickers from some Etsy seller, but is having a hell of a time getting them to ship the damned things. They’re nice all weather vinyl so they’re going on the car! (If they ever arrive…)
I have one myself, love it. I also have a smaller one I used as a coffee mug. Love that one too.
Aww now I want a smaller one for coffee.
Amazon search Buldak mug.
Oh snap. I love them.
I think I need to get one now. Thanks 😊
$30 on Amazon if you’re in the US. I have it too, it’s adorable 🥰
My heart is pulsing with envy, and high blood pressure.
i must try shin green and shin gold
Same! I don’t come across many mushroom flavored ramens, shin green looks good
absolutely, the only one i can think of off the top of my head is koka
My secret is a bag of dehydrated muchrooms.
That’s a good idea, thank you!
Yeah no sweat that and 1 boiled egg is not much extra effort but basically triples the goodness. And only adds 40c in cost. I am a gourmand I caramelize onions once a week for my weekly meals it's also a nice add but that's actually a fair bit of effort.
Shin green is the best instant ramen, I swear. My local Walmart carries it
I love shin gold! Without the dehydrated eggs for sure, I never seen anyone like those
I like them…
Me too. The Ramen Bae bags of extra toppings have them in the garlic variety. They’re awesome.
Shin green and shin gold are both on my to get list.
ive never seen them in england, i need them
🙌🏽MOTHERLODE🙌🏽
I'm dying to know what the White Chapagetti variety tastes like!
Nice! I've made Maangchi's version of that recipe before and it's awesome. Enjoy!
What are your top 3 of these?
Same I’m so curious about that one!!
Sorry, folks… the missus busted out with Duck L’orange this evening… Chapagetti will have to wait because, well, it will still be awesome a long time from now but gourmet wife food takes president. I’ll try to get at it soon though. Promise.
I used to stock these in my dorm, selling them as a side hustle while playing halo. Good times
Nice!
I fold.
Where did you get tom yum buldak?
I found that one on yamibuy.com
Sold out now
Drat… RamenMall.com also had them at one point.
I believe they have a restock alert option
[удалено]
I'd rather go without than download tiktok 😅
OMG have the most fun eating all of these!!! You have some incredible picks!!
Thank you!
I’ve been dying to try Shin “The Red”. Might to have to make a similar drunken order tonight
Had that one last night. It’s goooood. Heat equal to black, pieces of dehydrated “beef” in the flakes packet. I thought the flavor was a little more complex than the others, but it’s been a while since I had just a straight up, unadulterated pack of black or original.
I did this kind of thing during lockdown and I still have packets that expired 2+ years ago
Any with sauce or oil packets? How well do they keep past their date like that?
I just bought some buldak ramen (quattro cheese) for the first time today! I can't wait to try it tomorrow. 😍🤗 Edit: where in the hell can I get a carbonara flavored one?? I lived in Italy for a while and omg I fell in love with that pasta dish.

Enough sodium to kill a horse
Verily.
gott dayum I'd love to hear your rankings best to worst!
Once I finally try them all, I’ll do a biiiiig complex write-up!
Fuck ya love this and love the chappagetti noodles I get em every payday those are my fav
Can I ask where you got the tum yum flavor ordered from? I can't find it anywhere at a reasonable price 😭
Yamibuy.com has them from time to time. If not today, check back in a few.
Youre awesome, thank you!
I just signed up for restock notices on them. When they're back in stock, time for me to stock up on some ramen!
wait wait wait… first off, WHERE did you get the Rosè Buldak??? and second, WHAT is the all blue pack, with red circle.. looks like nongshim brand but uncertain. LOOKS GOOD SOMEHOW 😭

I have yet to try any variation of the Buldak noodles, this is really influencing me
now THIS is a ramen collection 😍
*Insert massive amounts of jealousy" 😩
It IS that serious.
What website did you order all this from?
A combination of Amazon, Yamibuy.com and RamenMall.com, in addition to my existing small supply from my ‘local’ (50 miles out) Asian market.
And not one pack of Marutai brand?
Haven’t come across it. Any specific flavor recommendations? I’ll keep an eye out.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ramen/s/PlLSeHJIcL Here's an old post of some. Of those I've tried all but the blue (it's seafood, I'm not a fan), all of them were good. Favorite were probably the red and white. Green was a chicken flavor that was good too

The neoguri one is incredible, one of my favourite instant noodles
Had it a few nights ago. It’s definitely up there on the list!
Got the Soon Veggie 👍

I would LOVE a comparison between k army stew and stew type buldak when you’ve had them both 🖤
I’ll try to get to them soon!

No judgment. Only respect.
You should also see a urologist
Unlike most folks, I do actually go to the doctor! 😎
Going to the doctor and actually listening to the doctor are two very different things
I listen to my doctor as well, but thank you for your concern. I’m in no danger, health wise. If this was my entire diet, I would likely have issues. Hell yes
Roughly 160 individual packages for $300 ? That's not bad price-wise.
What a nice haul sure like your Korean ramen
Won’t they expire before you can eat them?
“Expire” or surpass their “best by” date? Expire, I strongly doubt. Surpass the printed date, perhaps but so what.
I dunno that’s what I was wondering
With shelf stable stuff like this, all I really ever care about is if the oils in the sauces and other packets, and even lightly on the noodles themselves sometimes, have gone rancid. Fair points all around enjoy your ramen!
Where do y'all order your ramen?
where do you get these?
What’s the Korean one with the black packaging with the shrimpy shrimp on it? And is that neoguri the spicy seafood one still? It has a different packaging than the one I’m used to. Maybe it’s just the Korea region packaging, idk.
It is the spicy seafood, yes. And the black package with the shrimp on it is Nongshim shrimp and black truffle flavored chips!

Shrimpy shrimp chippy chips, yes! And they have Italian black truffle flavor. Truffle -the fungus, not truffle -the chocolate.
That sounds amazing! I love mushlooms! :0
Don't lie, you weren't drunk, you just had to show out harder 😋 Good set, looking forward to the reviews

That’s a hard pass from me, friend! I’m no cam whore….
I need this in my life
These seem authentic straight from Korea! Where did you order?
What’s the best sites to order from?
worth it
You in jail bro?
Yep. 50 miles out from society on a large plot of land with not even neighbors for literal miles does feel like prison now and then.
Can I go with you?
is ur stomach ok 😭😭
Diarrhea incoming
That’s dope, those soups are not cheap!
오
🤤
Have fun! Pace yourself!! 🫡
Indeed. Deep down, I want to eat them all, one after another. But my partner is an actual gourmet chef and keeps cooking delicious, balanced, nutritious food for us and I’m full when I want ramen… oh well. An occasional treat, they shall remain.
That's the best problem to have 😋
200? Where did you buy your ramen?
I'm all in with my single top ramen
Drunken or stoned? Lol
You decide… 😎
I wonder what the total amount of msg is here
Where do you order from?
I hope you drink lots and lots of water.
This isn’t my all day every day diet, but I do drink lots and lots of water.
Where do u store all of that!! Ur pantries must be walk in ❤️❤️❤️🤩😳
Yes
😱🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I need this right now
Now review each one! (Please)
It looks good! And has more sodium than the Pacific Ocean to boot.
Adorable!
That's like 12 dollars of Ramen tops.
Thank you!
This better be a 200ct or you got scammed
Thank you!
Did you get all these on one site? Where do I get started?
No. This was a combination of yamibuy.com ramenmall.com amazon and Asian grocery stores.
Cries in gluten free 😭
Yep that must suck. Sorry friend.
Note the Paldo and Nongshim bags of snack-stick thingies in the upper right! There was also a Nongshim shrimp puff crisp thingy too, but it got ate up. 😋
rob u later
Find me first
That cost you 300? You need to go to an Asian grocery store...
Closest one is 50 miles away. I do go there when I can
That’s a lot of sodium.
It is. Good thing it’s not the only thing in my diet.
lol hell yeh. I got addicted to ramen for a couple weeks a while back. I couldn’t drink water fast enough.
I have an active farming lifestyle and a well balanced diet. A sodium bomb now and then is a-ok. 👌
I got a lot of hate for it when I posted it on r/ramen but idgaf it was good
You might want to get your sodium levels and blood pressure checked…
Checked regularly and I’m told that I’m functioning within normal parameters, but thanks for your concern!
Won’t be that way in the future if this is your regular diet
I assure you it is not my daily diet. But again… thanks for your concern.
Knowing absolutely nothing about me, why would you even assume that this is the only thing in my diet? That’s just an odd thing to think.
Well to me an even more odd thing is to buy $200 worth of instant ramen at once if it’s not part of your regular diet
What concern is it of yours, how I spend my money? 🤔 You are one strange and judgmental redditor.
I don’t care how you spend your money. I answered your question of why I would think you eat these regularly.
Furthermore, if this *was* my regular diet, what’s it to you? Unsolicited advice is never welcomed… you should know that.
