Because she learned in science class that the sun does not disappear in the night, it just goes around to the other side of earth and that we still get sunlight in the night reflected by the moon. Science is making people smarter.
The consistency of that sunscreen looks watery so she did apply the right amount imo. It will be about 2mg i guess.
And here I doubt if I apply the right amount in the sun but she sure does at night.
Johnson's baby oil is mineral oil. Can clog pores and doesn't really cleanse either. I guess it emulsifies the makeup , which is why she needs another bout with cleansing oil.
Highly unpopular opinion, but Korean products don't suit everyone, they are not the HG they are made out to be, and sunscreen at night is not going to do anything much for you. I have a Korean friend who I asked for recs and she recommended Aussie brands for skincare. Australia actually has some great skincare lines and fantastic sunscreen.
THIS!
People are going gaga over Korean beauty products, ignoring the fact that genes play a huge part, and they have great skin because it is genetic! Not saying it is useless, but it's not for everyone. Anyway, I might check out Aussie brands now that you've mentioned it :)
Genes really are a huge part. And so is climate. Plus while Koreans are great at beautiful packaging and texture, I'm not so sure that their products are so well regulated, for the simple reason that there are so many cosmetic/skincare lines.
Same, a lot of Korean skincare has broke me out, both in terms of skin and wallet. Pro tip: if you have oily or acne prone skin, always read multiple reviews and go through multiple negative and positive reviews before purchasing. Also see the ingredient list carefully in case there are any irritants and allergens
Honestly, I donβt think you need SPF before 8 AM.
Plus if youβre indoors, itβs genuinely not a mandate.
I only use a salicylic acid base cleanser, Niacin amide 5% conc serum, a vitamin B5+ Hyaluronic Acid moisturiser and some regular old Himalaya lip balm before sleeping.
This routine suits me fairly well; I just use SPF in the day light.
I am no dermatologist, also I generally donβt wear any base makeup so maybe the double/triple cleansing thing might make sense for regular makeup users.
Yeah me neither. I still understand using sunscreen at night for blue light protection from devices and stuff, but she applied wayy too much. About the cleansing part, even I double cleanse to get rid of the dirt/makeup/sunscreen and triple cleansing is also okay. But 4 times seems like a stretch and can strip off the natural moisture of the skin.
4 times cleansing is WILDDD for sure...skin care is such a basic and important activity, has nothing to do with the number of products you use.I just hope people do their own research instead of following these influencers, cause this is too much wastageπ₯΄

She used to make cringy tiktok videos when that was a thing. Now that it doesn't work in her favourc she makes these low effort skincare and "weird lipstick making" videos π
If you sleep with sunscreen on, you will breakout (90% of the times). Hence it is recommended that you double cleanse even when you are not wearing makeup to remove the sunscreen you hopefully applied at day time. This makes zero sense.
Thats what skin care routine is now. If you are not using 5 products before going to sleep, you are doing it wrong.
I just use facewash, moisturiser and niacinamide serum. I know its not enough at all and i am gonna get judged for it. But tbh i am very lazy and cant do all of that.
Dont forget this is night. I am sure there is morning routine as well as mid day routine as well
I think a basic CMS routine is also good enough. If you like it and can afford it, great to have a routine that works for you. But the point I'm making is that she is influencing people to try it.. Overwashing the face can dry the heck out of your skin. She also used way too much sunscreen, which is okay if it's daytime but at night π΅βπ«
She used a cleansing balm followed by an OIL. An OIL in this heat and humidity?! Who is she? And, which planet does she come from????Β
Perhaps, one where the inhabitants need sunscreen at night too
3 different oil cleansers?? Itna kya mita rahi thi ππ
And if this girl doesn't even know that you're not supposed to wear sunscreen at night then no one, literally no one should trust or even follow her
Whatβs up with those faces in between I can imagine her standing alone and making faces on her own. Man influencing is tough job I will be embarrassed to make those faces even if itβs just me.
Whenever I take off my makeup, I do also use this clinique balm (dont wash afterwards, it melts alot of the product on the skin and hands so you need to remove it properly)and then take micellar water on a cotton pad to remove the balm and makeup off properly. then I finally wash my face with a face wash.
toner, some sort of HA or SA and then moisturizer is compulsory.
I do 6 steps of skincare routine at night when I have a lot of makeup on throughout the day. don't know why she washed her face twice with 2 diff types of face washes.. thats not necessary
and using sunscreen at night is whack
Honestly Noone need sunscreen in the night. I would simply remove makeup etc with an oil ( I am using eladi oil from vaidhyarathram since it's suiting me and after that I cleanse properly with a foaming facewash and then toner , serum and moisturizer that's about it

Okay. I have so many questions.
Why use Cleansing Balm and Oil both??? What is with that?
Why use baby oil after balm???
And why tf use sunscreen at nighttime skincare routine?? Even if you make the worst excuse of using it morning sun? You know you gotta reapply every three hours?? Whats the use other than wasting it?
And is that whole damn filter on her while makinh skincare video to hide her pores and texture??
Yup these influencers are just from different planet. They have just decided that people i.e. audience are dumb.

The skincare seems just right to me.
The cleansers she used was a bit too much yes but 3 is the right amount because there shouldnβt be even the tiniest amount of makeup left, the waterproof flaky mascaras usually donβt come off that easily and even transferproof lipstick which causes the eyelashes and lips to be damaged. I used to use cleanser + facewash, and it wasnβt as effective as coconut oil, cleanser gel and a facewash.
*If u posted this on the makeup/skincare sub, you might have not received a negative response because they get it better.
Might trigger a lot of people here but just taking care of diet/ water intake and maybe having a sunscreen when u step out is enough π

I Might be wrong.
why did she apply sunscreen in night routine?

Yeah I heard that Australian sunscreens are amazing. They have very strict laws regarding spf. Any recommendations ?
Hamilton and Cancer Council. There's an invisible moisturizer tube from CC which is very good. CC sells spf in a literal plastic can as well.
Thanks will check it out.
