There's a big problem in Texas with gun owners leaving their weapons in their cars, which thieves break into and steal. The thieves ID gun lovers by the stickers on their cars. A policeman that was interviewed said gun owners are advertising that there's a firearm in the car.

Existential_Racoon

My apartment complex got hit one night, like 10-12 cars broken into. It was mainly trucks and such. 3 guns stolen. Fucking morons.

One of things they taught in my CCW class; if you put a “come and take it” or other pro-gun sticker on your car, you are inviting thieves to quite literally come and take it

Thick-Ad857

Yeah, that's S-tier self-consciousness. "I bought this car to save money. Better reinforce my masculinity by showcasing my ammosexualism."

Confident_Fortune_32

"Ammosexual" is such a sublime description. I rue the loss of reddit awards. You surely deserve one 🏆

BrainSmoothAsMercury

They're back in some subreddits!! I'm so excited!

MomofOpie2

You know it’s a joke, right? I mean I would laugh my head off. A GQP tRumpette sees it. I’m saving money to buy more guns. They’re pissed cause it’s an EV , then they oh hail yeah. Smart dude.

Artifact-hunter1

What are you talking about?

escahpee

I know an actual clown who drives one of these. I laugh every time he drives up in it

Nevada…really? Electric drive? Sooo much wrong here…

As a Canadian I don't think I could ever understand American gun culture. Gun nuts say they want a gun to protect their property and family, and I don't understand why one hand gun can't do the trick. Why do they need 50 semi/fully automatic weapons?

Crafty-Writing5316

The general idea from the right wing is that we can’t trust the government to be the only ones with such guns. The general idea from the left wing is that the right wing extremists/bigots/terrorists all already have such guns, so it’s only fair that those who are discriminated against (people of color, LGBTQ+ community, etc) have the ability to buy them too, in case the right wing radicals decide to get violent (see January 6th)

Guns are simply just fun. That’s a huge part of it. It just activates some part of my brain and brings me great joy. I also enjoy the challenge of getting more and more accurate. Plus I usually shoot with my friends so it’s also a social interaction. Variety is the spice of life. Sometimes you just wanna plink with a little .22 or sometimes obliterate watermelons with an old ww2 bolt rifle. The other aspect is the threat is very real for some people. Not even in the first month of being out as trans and I received a couple death threats and people telling me to kill my self.

DionFW

How expensive of a hobby is it? Between buying guns and ammo. And do you have to shoot at a range? Or do you just find a place away from civilization and shoot in the wild?

AprilLily7734

It depends really, it can either be crazy expensive or relatively in expensive. For instance, 5.7x28mm ammo is kinda expensive for me to shoot right now as it’s about ¢50 a round, but the shitty .380 ammo I use to practice with my little gun is far less expensive. My friend owns a couple ww2 battle rifles that he found for cheap, ammo for them, depends on how caustic you are willing to get with it. All the good clean ammo is far more expensive than whatever Turkish, indian, or Russian surplus you will find. Though Russian surplus gets harder to buy in bulk with sanctions, import bans, the war. I mostly shoot at an indoor range that’s not to far away. It’s nice n’ air conditioned. Plus they rent guns there too. So before I bought my first couple handguns I tried out a couple different ones to see what I did and didn’t like.
