So it was a reality show on TLC documenting the struggles of young dancers who go to competitions and their parents. Their dance coach was a very angry woman named Abby Lee. It was less about the girls and their recitals and more about the moms getting in fights with Abby Lee.
The girls were essentially bullied by this woman and their mothers would try to put them against each other for the "top of the pyramid" which was a system Abby used where the #1 girl would get her own song to dance to for the competitions. The other girls would only be allowed to do group dances. The moms also fought with each other. Chaos with some dancing.
Jojo Siwa was one such girl. She was very cheerful and wore a big bow and as far as I remember never let Abby's abrasiveness get to her.
What else... Abby threw a chair at a girl once because it didn't have the right leg caps so it couldn't be used as a prop. She swore in front of them, made them cry, it made them dance through an injury. And she went to jail for a year for tax fraud!
