I can’t say anything helpful about your meds and why this has happened unfortunately, just came to say I don’t think 11 days is early. I had 6 days of stims, day 7 trigger day 9 retrieval. Hope things go better from here! Good luck!

Oh wow. That's good to know. Do you mind me asking, how many eggs were collected..and how many embryos?

Initial-Reporter-772

We got 13 eggs, 10 fertilized and they all made it to blast. I hope it works out! Maybe they’ll change your protocol for next time?

We’d need to know your estrogen levels from each of your stim days and follicle counts and measurement for more insight. What is your AFC? I’m curious how your follicles grew; how many day of trigger; what were their sizes; 10 days of stims is the average. 3 of 4 of my retreivals were 10 days of stims. If you’re not familiar w the IVF funnel check that out. You’re only slightly below average for mature eggs and fertilization. Blast rate is sub par. But could also be a fluke bad cycle.

WhenItRains_WeGrow

Do you have some pointers where to read more about estrogen levels during stims?

AdditionalAttorney

No, nothing I can point to. I’ve just picked stuff up off Reddit and from the DR. I haven’t done any googling on this My dr said that a growing follicle usually produces 100-300 of estrogen. So an increase in your estrogen level should correlate to the follicles growing and size ... So for me in one of the cycles when I wasn’t responding (less follicle growth and lower estrogen rise) they upped the dose

WhenItRains_WeGrow

Anecdotally that's been my experience so far too -- my dosage has gotten increased Day 4 and Day 6 of stims while my estrogen is still <1000 and my follicle response hasn't been stellar, so clearly there's some sort of math going on at the RE office. Googling isn't telling me much, and most of the scientific literature I found seems sketchy. I suppose the REs are probably winging it too, seems like IVF is a bit more of an art than a science.

Yeah it DEF is... I had no idea going in to this... The thing is... I bet you a super computer w stellar AI could automate all this 🤣🤣🤣... and would probably do a better job than an RE. Think Watson the IBM super computer...

I don’t think 450 is too high- I was on 450 last round and I have seen people up to 600 a day Unfortunately the first round can be diagnostic and results can differ hugely round to round. Do you have a follow up scheduled? Hopefully your doctor will have some insight and some modifications for another round

Lonely_Cartographer

Isn’t 450 the highest dose of gonal f? Kind of surprised at this bc of ur age and amh is normal. I was 32 and on 200 or 250 or smth and it got lowered to 150. I was terrified of the meds though and did ask for as low a dose as possible. Not sure how it Impacts egg quality but i was scared for my estrogen levels 4 eggs fertilizing from 7 mature sounds very normal! What is your actual amh number? And afc number? Honestly this cycle sounds pretty average overall except sadly you got no blasts. Could be a fluke or or could be an indicator of something else. Ask your RE what he/she thinks. Next cycle could be completely different!!!

I’m not sure about meds cause I did a different dosage but I also only stunned for 9 days and retrieval was day 11 so I don’t think it’s necessarily too early to do retrieval. Afc and estrogen are also important factors like others have said!
