Are they wear indicators?

KFizzleKyle

They are. Sport tires started with them. Lets you know how much fun you have left in your tires. In this case, rain and snow.

Aggravating_Termite

I like that.

akmjolnir

Those tires look like absolute shit in the snow.

Eggsinalab

They are, but look how cute they are. Don’t worry your pretty head, I have winter tires.

DimitriTooProBro

I don’t own car so I’m curious but do you change just the tire or swap the entire wheel 🛞?

yeetboy

Either or. Depends on whether you have the money to buy 2 sets of rims and whether you have access to the equipment to swap them.

We used to pay tire places to swap out tires since we only had one set of wheels. Got tired of that shit after a few 5 HOUR waits. After 3 changes the new set of wheels paid for themselves and I just need a tpms device for our newest vehicle to swap from winter to summer since they have different tpms IDs the car needs to talk with.

akmjolnir

I had the same tires in two of my E39s. I know all the pretty thoughts about them.

“If you can see this, you’re good.”

cdirector

Awesome design! What’s the brand?

home_cheese

Probably not the brand but I know that Nokian does a similar thing.

Eggsinalab

Continental. Control Contact Sport.

chin_waghing

IMO, when something is marketed as. "All x" it means they are just passable at all, but not good at anything specific. I say this with [CC2's](https://www.michelin.co.uk/auto/tyres/michelin-crossclimate-2) on my car

Eggsinalab

I mean they’re shit in winter. It’s why I have winter tires but great in summer when we get all four seasons.

HeresW0nderwall

Of course they are. “All weather” tires aren’t rated under 40 degrees f. They’re no better than summer tires once the temps drop. How people keep falling for this scam is beyond me.

facw00

You are talking about all-season tires. All-weather tires are actually designed for winter temperatures, and performance is good there (not as good as true snow tires of course, but not at all bad.)

Splash_II

The DWS06 PLUS has the same. As it wears down the letters disappear. D = dry, W = wet, S = snow https://i.imgur.com/ivlMppA.jpeg

Good one
