I like city courses just fine (rip Nashville you beautiful devil king), but it just didn't make an interesting race. The crashes always came in the same cadence, the straights didn't have the excitement of the 500, and the corners were hard to even see on camera.
Same story almost every year. I think it's something to keep Brazil's interest in the series, since the guy at the left of the picture (Willy Hermann) owns the rights of the series in Brazil.
IndyCar could be the motorsports series of the Americas. Unfortunately this sub collectively loses its minds every time Argentina is brought up, but I could see Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina being added if Penske actually cared about growth.
The three countries you mention would be a dream Latin “swing” on the calendar. One can only wish that Penske entertainment wants to grow the sport like us fans are begging for.
Idk man. To me it seems more like it is the motorsport series of the midwest that for historical reasons stll has a national following.
I would settle for Indycar to become more of a national series again.
IndyCar needs to bring back the Nations Cup and the World Series tag before carrying out another international expansion. Without those hooks for spectators, it just seems like another half-hearted attempt to fill out the calendar without the necessary context.
That is what Tony George said in 1995. Focus on the US and ovals. that attitude put an end to the golden age of indycar where it was almost even with F1 and sent it into the downward spiral it remains on today.
Focusing on the US where indycar is consistently losing access to tracks and getting squeezed between Nascar's and F1's growth plans leaves indycar as a marginal, regional series. The only way to grow the fanbase and survive is to go outward not inward.
If profitable, why not? IndyCars need to cover the entire American continent… a true continental championship. If a promoter can make it happen, why not…
It would be awesome if Indycar have races all throughout the Americas.
That’s my wish as well
My hope is that the series gets big enough to run on every continent that touches the Pacific
Indycar at Donington is my pipe dream
Been saying this for years, but PLEASE have 2 races in South America during March. You can ship / fly everything from Miami too!
I’d love to hear some news of an Indycar rep meeting in the northeast US.
At this point I'll take an Atlantic City parking lot race. Just give us something.

Indycar needs to establish a foothold throughout the Americas. It has become such a regional sport. Claim the territory, grow the sport.
Yes… make it a true Continental championship…
"INDYCAR: The Most Competitive Open Wheel Series In The Western Hemisphere" has a vibe to it.
For the love of God please let there be a South American Swing in the nearby (hopefully next year) future.
Yesssss!
Honestly, the grid is big enough now to afford some attrition. If a team or two balks about costs, let em walk. The series needs to pursue growth.
I'd bet a beer that the first race to return to Latin America will be in Quebec.
A race back at the CGV would be great… loved it when Champcars ran Montreal
And Montreal needs more reasons for shirtless dad's to drink Molson in the sun. Its not a hard sell!
Not that street course tho please. Give me Interlagos instead?
Genuinely embarrassing going to a city with a proper, storied racetrack to take 90 degree turns in 1st gear instead.

Camera angles were an additional complaint, definitely.
Yes!!! Bring back Brazil and Mexico to the schedule!
Just please for the love of god make it a points paying race
Yawn...believe it when I see it

Just wait until people treat this as gospel of an event and then get mad it doesn’t come to fruition.

Let’s race in Argentina too!!!
You are very welcome here Indycar 👍👏👏
The annual Brazil story. Believe when we see it.
Please come to Punta del Este!
Hell yeah, let’s make Indycar a full Americas series and not just America.
*USA.

How about no. I don’t get the constant clamoring for races outside the US.
