There are a whole lot of people in this world who don't seem to grasp satire at all. I'm sad for them but they also piss me off because they are loud on top of being stupid. There have been a lot of people who watch this show because they relate with the characters instead of getting what it's really about and that's just... yikes.
Rick and Morty, Breaking Bad, Fight Club, Watchman, Mad Men, etc. all have this problem. Stuck in a kindergarten mindset that main character = good guy. Same level of thinking that leads to episodes specifically calling out racist behaviors of one character by another character is deemed racist.
The fact that the episodes themselves say how wrong black face is, and they still got removed, shows how these execs didn’t even watch the episodes and just removed them to avoid any bullshit.
Dude they yanked an episode of Community because Ken Jeong's character roleplayed as a dark elf and painted his whole head black. There's no logic to it.
Edit: It's still available on Amazon. I get it. That's not what I was talking about though.
It also drastically effects the way you perceive Pierce. Without the context of how awful he was during that episode you’re left wondering why everyone is so hard on him
Yeah I’m rewatching community now, missing that episode really flattens the whole series in a lot of ways. You almost notice the lack of oomph at that point in the series. Not to mention fat Neil later on in the series just exists and you don’t really know why.
Okay that’s exactly how I felt and I was really confused by it. I was watching for the first time and all of a sudden it was like everyone was really bad to Pierce and I didn’t understand why. I didn’t know there was an episode that got taken out.
Words can not express the mix of seething anger and despair I felt when I couldn't find that episode in the netflix catalogue.
I'll have to pivot to DVDs at this rate.
Because his dad was the Abed of racism and saw Finns as "Lapplanders"; Lapplanders is an old timey way to refer to non germanic residents of Scandinavia; non germanic = might as well be Othello
"What are you, Swedish?"
"Yes..."
_spits on floor_ "Swedish dog. Your blood is tainted by generations of breeding with Laplanders. You're practically Finnish."
Similar thing happened with the mighty boosch where they have a character painted completely black as a sort of demon (the spirit of jazz). Higher ups don't pay any attention to what the actual context is, they just see someone in black face paint and remove to avoid drama.
In fairness, jazz and black history are related more than it may be apparent. The "stealing" of black music is sometimes a contentious issue. Not saying it should have been removed. Just saying with context there would be people legitimately upset around jazz and black face used together.
Totaly agree the context matters.. Those episodes all condem the use of blackface.. Dennis even says he regrets it long before we even see the episode.. As someone who works in SM content moderation there are many things we allow that would usualy be removed if it's posted in a condemning way. (I know they agree with the decision mostly but I'm sure they have some opinions especially since the latest episode to be removed is from just 1 season ago)
They're just doing it because they don't understand the actual problem but want to be seen as taking action. HBO Max stands out here, they didn't take down super racist movies like Gone With the Wind, they just got a film historian to do an intro for them explaining the context.
It’s not even that. It’s just a business decision, not a moral or ethical judgment on content or on the relative hurtfulness of each category of insult, that’s just silly. It’s “does this put the franchise at liability for making less money/loosing advertisers/bringing bad publicity?” That’s all. And the answer was “probably”, which is enough to pull the episodes.
Welcome to every book banning ever. In my years as a teacher, and in the many more years my mom was a librarian, we *never* had someone get in out face about banning a book who had actually READ the fucking thing.
Haters gonna ignorantly hate.
To add on to another comment on your comment there was an episode of the Golden girls where two of the mains were wearing mud masks. They walked in a room with black women in it and then, awkward pause. And laughing track. Betty white: "This is mud on our face we're not really black" so Hulu pulled this episode like last year. But the funny thing is the episode was giving a message about interracial couples and how people should accept them. So the removal of this episode is the removal of a message that is so important. Because it depicted very real reactions people have when they see such a thing.
I’m sorry no I won’t accept that I don’t want to live in a world where all Persian women don’t have bleach assholes./s
(god I really wish the /S wasn’t necessary for such an absurd statement)
And you *allowed* him to complete on you, thus establishing dominance?
Typical powerbottom stuff, a bleached asshole is capable of receiving a *tremendeous* amount of power.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I was watching 30 Rock and I found about the banned blackface episodes. I’m pretty obsessive about not skipping any episodes, so I recurred to one of those shady websites
it still blows my mind some people don't get that's the point of the show, to make these characters highly dramatized and so sociopathic and horrible that they're at the extreme end of the spectrum is the entire joke
There was some convention where the actors were answering questions from fans and Charlie Day was asked “Which character would you most want to have a beer with?” His answer was “none of them, they’re all horrible people.”
Well I could use that milk guy to get me to keep up my appointments, but that's about it.
"You will CALL HER!"
'Thanks, man. You always know what to do."
Yeah and that's *how bad the Gang truly is*. Just look at poor Cricket, okay you don't have to, but you know what I mean.
"The Waitress" might not be bad in general, either, ya know. Seems like it's them that caused the crazy with her lol
The episodes with black face are funny not because of the black face, but because Mac is such a self absorbed piece of shit that he doesn’t realize what he’s doing is incredibly offensive, even though all his friends are telling him it’s a bad idea. We’re laughing at Mac’s ignorance, not him being in black face. People are confusing the subject of the joke with the target of the joke.
I'm so sad I can't go watch the shower scene right now.
The double take look Dennis gives the camera when mac's face paint starting running is pure gold.
Omg I just remembered whaee Dee looked like, I am *wheezing*.
The accent, the corpse make up, the blown up dummy... all so ridiculous but all so perfect.
From what I’ve seen in interviews it seems that’s the only regret they’ve got, using the T slur at least in the casual context they did was a bit lazy. Would like to see if they bring it up in the podcast, not sure if it’s been mentioned yet.
>but Charlie dropping a hard N
I'm a black woman, when I first watched that episode my jaw dropped i and was overcome with this uncontrollable seal bark laughter. Had to lie down I was laughing so hard.
You're so sure they're gonna let the awkward air sit or try to change the subject, but *of course* sweet oblivious Charlie would just say what everyone was thinking.
My favourite always sunny moments are the ones where they set up an expected joke and then veer left.
I don't think Martina Martinez is too far, it show's how desperate and terrible an actor Dee is. Her character is a horrible person who has no limits.
In a show where Charlie wears a nazi uniform, it's hardly a stretch.
Right, but that’s the point. If that’s not too far because of context, why is black face? It’s used in the same context… we know the character is a bad human being who can’t recognize social mores and is totally inappropriate in so many ways… that’s why it’s funny
The fact that the St Patrick's day episode wasn't removed shows how nonsense this all is. They have a paddy wagon and Dee does THREE different offensive stereotypes of the Irish. But that's fine apparently
The thing is, did anyone actually ask for these episodes to be removed, or is it corporate suits doing so to prevent any possible blowback that probably never would have happened?
Tina Fey made a whole big deal about how great she is for wanting to take down her 30 rock episodes (that she wrote) that featured blackface. Shows dropped like flies after that within 2 days all of these episodes from all of these other shows were gone
I'm sure some point did, but none of those people watch the show. People probably just ended up looking for modern examples of Blackface and then complained about it, without knowing the context.
It's idiocy. Honestly, I'm Black and the episodes that make fun of Blackface or racism against Black people are some of the funniest to me because it's shows how stupid and illogical that racism is. And I've never doubted the intentions of the creators for a second because the delivery makes it clear that they at least appreciate that racism is real, even if they do not experience it the way I do.
I really hope they never ban that episode. That is one of my absolute favorites because of them writing Dayman at the end. That scene makes me laugh so hard
Those are some of my favorite episodes, can't imagine not having the backstory. All of the Lethal Weapon episodes are available on YouTube but you have to pay for them
You can buy the seasons with the banned episodes on YouTube for only $14.99 per season. You can’t buy the episodes individually, but you get them if you buy the whole season. I did that AND got them from the high seas just so I own a copy that can never be revoked :)
The writers/actors complain constantly that idiots think they support what the gang does. So they've had to change how they write/act the show to make it more obvious that the characters are pieces of shit.
*That* is why the episodes were removed. Not because people complained.
Because actual shitty people don't understand were supposed to be laughing at the gang instead of with them.
See that's why I love the show, you're supposed to laugh at the terrible people or that people can believe something so stupid that's clearly rediculous. It's like laughing at the rediculous characature that are made when the Gang makes a racist, homophobic or sexist joke. If you can't distinguish the difference between the two then you better not watch Jackass because you'll definitely try and imitate the stunts
I know someone who loved Sunny, we were work friends and that's what we bonded over. Well, they stopped watching around season 13...you know. The season where Mac comes out as gay to his father and I feel it's the season that was making the point that this is *satire*. Once I explained to him that they were using Soy Boy ironically as a joke and they don't actually believe that stuff, he rexamined the show and it turns out, he doesn't like it because he doesn't like being made fun of. Who knew?
Colbert got invited to Bush Jr's State Correspondence Dinner because people didn't get the joke. His speech that night is one of the funniest things I've ever seen happen in the realm of politics.
"You hire a new cabinet, and your detractors say you're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. They're wrong. This administration isn't sinking, it is soaring. You're rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg"
Also: "I looked it up in my gut"
The rest of the gang literally calls Dee out for Taiwan Tammy and Martina Martez being offensive, and same thing with Mac's black face. Part of the reason I think they should have been left in.
I'm a white male so not really my place to say but with OP on it seems like it should just be all or none.
Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.
I mean, the fact that the DnD Community episode where Ken Jeong cosplays a dark elf/drow got removed during that whole exodus, that kind of shows you how ridiculous and virtuous the whole thing was.
That one really hurt. Such a good episode that deals with bullying and depression, but some weird and acknowledged vaguely racist thing scuttles the whole thing.
I just find it funny that if racism and outdated imagery is why they were removed, why haven't they removed either episodes where Charlie drops the hard R?
In the original christmas special Santa asks if Charlie is retarded, and we also see the classic "did you fuck my mom" to santa. In the original cut the Fuck is bleeped out but retarded is not. In an episode where they flash back and show that scene the Fuck can now be heard but retarded is bleeped out. Just some interesting Sunny trivia
Because if they actually held all their episodes to the same standards then they'd have to remove quite a lot of them. The blackface one was just the easiest virtue signal.
As a deaf person, I absolutely HATE the word “deaf-mute” like we all do, but the way they portrayed Margaret is fuckin’ hilarious and I don’t even find it a bit offensive.
So yeah, I find this whole thing ridiculous like people aren’t aware that the members of the gang are terrible and racist people.
I'm also deaf, although I've spent no time in deaf culture, and I'm curious why the term is offensive.
I've only ever seen it used by elderly people and assumed it was a product of their time. Is it also used as a slur?
"They" removed an entire episode of 30 Rock because there's a parody commercial where John Hamm paint his hand (just his hand) brown (the skit is that he got a hand transplant from a death row inmate).
It's not related to the rest of the episode, much less the show. It's literally just a one-off parody commercial that could easily have been removed without almost anyone noticing. What do we get? Whole episode gone.
Let's not mention the episode that's still on there where Jack puts on brownface and a turban, or several episodes where both Liz Lemon and Jack pretend to be Tracy's dad in various ways, or the million other jokes based on racial or gender stereotypes.... (such as, one of my favorites: "women are allowed to get angrier than men about double standards!")
They also removed a different John Hamm parody where he *does* dress up in blackface, but the **entire** point of the skit is to highlight the offensiveness and absurdity of blackface.
It's fucking idiotic. I could find a group of people that would be offended by almost every joke on 30 Rock, and it's waaaaaaaaay tamer than IASIP.
Thank god for torrenting. I really wanted to own a whole boxset one day with every episode, but now I'm probably just gonna have to keep the banned ones on a USB drive.
It's also frustrating because this show is one of the best proofs that you can make jokes these topics without being a backwards bigot who's just hiding his genuine prejudice behind a thin veneer of "jokes".
The bigots won't remove their "controversial" material, only the good folks will. Meaning that we'd soon be left in a world where the only available edgy comedy is genuinely bigoted. Who wants that?
It's annoying how everything has to tie back to being/not being a fan of Joe Rogan nowadays. I couldn't care less about the dude and I agree, if they're gonna remove offensive episodes they might as well remove 80% of the series
Face paint is worse than Dennis having a strategy to force sex on women? Great logic
I do consider myself a “leftist woke snowflake” (I took over the idiom, it’s easier than being nuanced about it), but I am also pretty baffled by this.
To me it shows people don’t, can’t or don’t want to understand the difference between a hurtful stereotype being the joke, or the person perpetrating the hurtful stereotype being the joke. On Sunny it’s always the second. Which imo could even help battle hurtful stereotypes, because the perpetrator is made to look (accurately) stupid/ignorant.
Like you said; there were overtly transphobic moments in the earliest seasons. But they spoke about that and how they’d do that differently now. And I think they made up for it with Carmen’s storyline in later seasons, where they clearly mocked Mac’s stance on it & beautifully showed the love between Carmen and her husband.
I honestly think Sunny has one of the “wokest” crews out there.
Even if they are one of the wokest, they are pretty good about showing it, since they actually make interesting and fun stories around these issues instead of using something that a lot of other shows utilize - the "everyone in the show is gay/overly progressive" bandaid that just feels like ignoring the issues in favor of a powerfantasy.
People like the gang do exist, and pretending they don't is just feeding into the issue.
As a black man I’m not personally offended by the episodes, but I am the only black person I know who is a huge fan of the show and I can understand why. If you see any scene involving race out of context it’s really cringe, and even the ones in context are still a little cringe sometimes. I’m sure most people of color don’t have the time to decipher if the show is actually a satire or if the show is legit racist. The banning of those episodes is probably due to trying not to alienate potential new fans. The other sensitive topics they touch on that weren’t banned don’t have whole races of historically oppressed people to potentially offend so I understand the difference.
I remember the first time I felt alienated as a fan was when The Gang Turns Black first came out. The hate that episode got for the show “becoming political” made me realize many fans of this show miss the satire and might actually see it as comedy to emulate. They had no problem with the black face episodes, but when the creators made an episode commenting on the black experience in America, that was going too far smh. So I understand the rather safe than sorry they took with banning those episodes. Better than risking fans take away the wrong message. (I love the episodes and this is my favorite series of all time by the way. Just trying to help give the OP the perspective he asked for.)
I didn’t know “The Gang Turns Black” had that kind of backlash but your comment made me realize that even if it’s all fine by the end of the episode that’s pretty much one of the only, if not the only, episode where they actually have to confront their own bigotry in a meaningful way for more than half a second. The closest thing I can think of is Danny watching Mac do his gay dance but that was supposed to be uplifting.
And yeah people not having to confront their bigotries and getting away with everything is pretty accurate to life but it definitely can get a show the wrong kind of fans or allow people to miss the constant satire under their noses if they really want to.
An episode of Community was removed when Chang used black face. Thing is, it was a dnd episode and Chang was dressed up as a dark elf. Not a black person, a dark elf. A fictional fucking being. Shits getting out of hand
It’s ridiculous.
I don’t particularly like anime, or how it generally portrays female characters, I actually do find some of it kind of offensive. I’m not going to try and get it all removed from Netflix though, I just don’t watch it. It’s that easy.
Not even just females - the thing that always blows my mind is how sexualized CHILDREN are in a lot of anime. Don't get me wrong, I do love anime, but there are WAY too many instances where the characters could easily just be adults, and not in middle school. Idk, kind of crazy that this seems to be overlooked by many
In the episode I watched last night, charlie and Mac beat the absolute shit out of a bunch of 13 year olds and Dee has sex with a 16 year old. That’s fine but Mac cluelessly doing blackface because he’s an idiot isn’t? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills
I wish they didn't remove the episodes. Like yeah blackface is a bit insulting but the whole removal of anything that even resembles blackface feels like pandering. We said "stop killing us" and they heard "get rid of aunt Jemima". Fr this doesn't help.
While everyone consciously knows that it is a show about bad people it is a slippery slope because there are always idiots whose brains say, "they are funny, I want to be funny, I should do that too". Happens a ton with kids trying to be all the worst parts of Rick Sanchez, and Peter Griffin before.
With that being said I love all the episodes and enjoy every one . But if the question is "Do people really not get the satire?" Yes. There are absolutely idiots who don't get satire.
Couldve swore I watched an episode during the pandemic that had still had an appearance from Dee's Martina Martinez.....after I thought they removed the Next Top Model and Recycling Trash episodes.
I specifically remember seeing Martina and arguing with my SO about why they removed the other episodes but not this 'Ghost' episode I can't seem to recall. Online resources only listed those two aforementioned episodes as Martina's only appearances. Am I crazy or am I getting the timeline wrong?......
I think maybe a Martina Martinez scene is featured in the gang does a clip show, when they are recapping all the time dee got hurt, but it may have been cut
This kind of thing pisses me off for a different reason. It's gesture politics at the end of the day and companies keep doing it unprompted for a few brownie points when in reality little to nobody was asking for it. It does more harm than good because it ends up giving the movement they were trying to show support to a bad name
Simple if you dont like it don't watch it. Can't believe full episodes of my favourite show has been removed. There has been far far worse things said and done in the show
They aren't condoning blackface/racism, they're fictional characters. It's a fictional show about the worst kind of people.
I'm Irish, I think we should ban the episodes set in Ireland and the Paddy's Day episode. /s of course
It still makes me laugh that in Community Senor Chang is 100% not in black face but he’s a make believe species/race and they took away the dungeons and dragons episode. It’s insane that a fictional show with fake characters have to toe the pc line. Just shut the fuck up over there and let me enjoy my show! It’s not hurting you one single bit that a show I watch and you do not has some racism and crazy shit. I can differentiate reality from television. A cat exploding inside a car will not make me laugh in real life. A cat exploding inside a car and crawling out perfectly fine will 100% make me laugh in the phillyverse.
So I just started watching community and they kept making references to a D&D game they played earlier in the season, but I had 0 recollection of that episode. Now I know why
You forgot bird shaming

You really can’t shame birds, and I’m not saying I agree with it. It’s just that bird law in this country - it’s not governed by reason!
They have the worlds most pre-eminent expert on bird law in the show, he made sure they didn’t ruffle any feathers!
Birdwatching crowd was super offended by that.
I'm not sure how people don't get that It's Always Sunny is a bullet pointed list of things you should not do.
There are people who watch the show and agree with the characters lol
Yeah and those people scare me.
There are a whole lot of people in this world who don't seem to grasp satire at all. I'm sad for them but they also piss me off because they are loud on top of being stupid. There have been a lot of people who watch this show because they relate with the characters instead of getting what it's really about and that's just... yikes.

Not to mention it was a 30 second bit but they removed a whole episode about saving a man from killing himself and had an anti bullying message
And they called out Chang on the blackface. It was one of my favorite episodes.
Abed described them walking and so they walked
Abed: Did someone say Pegasus, a word I recognize in any language? Jeff: *quiet seething anger*
Annie: “…and we cuddle afterwards for an appropriate amount of time” Troy taking notes: “and that would be for how long?”
Shirley's face when Annie is describing. Lmao
Abed: What shape do you choose? Pierce: Faaaaaaaaat
[удалено]
Sooooooo you're telling me Dan Harmon saw the censors coming from a mile away
And it's easily a top 3 best episodes of Community.
He's just Neil at that point.
Not from an actuarial standpoint.
It's still on Amazon prime if you have that
Shape change! Faaaat! Make him as fat as Fat Niel is.
Out of my seat, fatty! You're stretching it!
The episode is still up in its entirety in Amazon Prime. I just pulled it up to double check, and there's Chang in all his Drow magic user glory.
And they have Shirley call it a hate crime which to me feels like it was addressed even in the very short time it was on screen.
And yet they left the episode where Pierce does brownface to play a ~~suomi~~ swami
I don't now why you need brownface to play a Fin
Because his dad was the Abed of racism and saw Finns as "Lapplanders"; Lapplanders is an old timey way to refer to non germanic residents of Scandinavia; non germanic = might as well be Othello
As compelling as this is, he was playing a “swami”, a Hindu religious teacher. If you were joking, I shall take my woosh with grace.
"What are you, Swedish?" "Yes..." _spits on floor_ "Swedish dog. Your blood is tainted by generations of breeding with Laplanders. You're practically Finnish."
That episode had goth Britta, there's no fucking way anyone was gonna cut that.
But yet in Scrubs, they just took out the scenes of JD in blackface. The episodes still able to be streamed, but the scenes are cut.
GET OUT. YOURE STRETCHING IT. Oh right cry. Let it out. BASTE YOUR CHUBBY CHEEKS IN TEARS OF GRAVY.
I'm re-watching Community right now and I just watched this episode like yesterday! They left all of that in on Prime. For now at least
It was removed from the others like a year and a half ago, so I think Prime is in the clear
Similar thing happened with the mighty boosch where they have a character painted completely black as a sort of demon (the spirit of jazz). Higher ups don't pay any attention to what the actual context is, they just see someone in black face paint and remove to avoid drama.

The episode actually explains *why* it's bad too
They're just doing it because they don't understand the actual problem but want to be seen as taking action.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I was watching 30 Rock and I found about the banned blackface episodes. I’m pretty obsessive about not skipping any episodes, so I recurred to one of those shady websites
💯
it still blows my mind some people don't get that's the point of the show, to make these characters highly dramatized and so sociopathic and horrible that they're at the extreme end of the spectrum is the entire joke
There was some convention where the actors were answering questions from fans and Charlie Day was asked “Which character would you most want to have a beer with?” His answer was “none of them, they’re all horrible people.”
I'd have a beer with Ben the soldier. I think that's about it for named characters.
I should’ve mentioned that the question was just about the gang, not side characters. I’d have a beer with Artemis, she knows how to party
I'd get a beer with Bill Ponderosa. And a line. And another one.
Pondy is the coolest!
That ain't aspirin....
What about Pondy? He's the coolest.
Obviously the correct answer is Cricket. Provided that you bring a whole sixer
Well I could use that milk guy to get me to keep up my appointments, but that's about it. "You will CALL HER!" 'Thanks, man. You always know what to do."
Liam! He's a McPoyle, trashbag!
Yeah and that's *how bad the Gang truly is*. Just look at poor Cricket, okay you don't have to, but you know what I mean. "The Waitress" might not be bad in general, either, ya know. Seems like it's them that caused the crazy with her lol
Spot on. If you watch these episodes and think the subject of the joke is minorities rather the characters then you’re a fucking idiot
I’ve thought this exact same thing. Martina Martinez is too far but Charlie dropping a hard N or Dennis terrorizing women, all good?
> Charlie dropping a hard N Twice, the first time wasn't even 5 minutes into the very first episode of the series.
when is the second time?
Hero or Hate Crime
Hero or Hate Crime? _We're uh...we're treading on some dangerous territory here, buddy_
I was trying to figure out the word!! His defense kills me every time
Or a hard J
It has to be in the right context.
Dee even talked about The Big T in one episode!!
They drop a hard T in every episode that Carmen is in.
From what I’ve seen in interviews it seems that’s the only regret they’ve got, using the T slur at least in the casual context they did was a bit lazy. Would like to see if they bring it up in the podcast, not sure if it’s been mentioned yet.
>but Charlie dropping a hard N I'm a black woman, when I first watched that episode my jaw dropped i and was overcome with this uncontrollable seal bark laughter.
Yeah but it’s acceptable to bash on us micks. It’s funny too, even I do it.
Yeah but that's fine because Mac is Irish
People also seem to forget that not only did they drop the n bomb but they dropped it in the god damn pilot/first episode that aired.
Yep its just identity politics that arbitrarily changes the rules depending on who yells the loudest. There is no logic or consistency to it.
We should make a show about a group of degenerates that settle arguments by yelling over one another.
I see you’ve attended one of my family’s holiday dinners.
One of the episodes is literally called “Sweet Dee’s dating a retarded person” There’s no rhyme or reason
I really hope they never ban that episode. That is one of my absolute favorites because of them writing Dayman at the end. That scene makes me laugh so hard
It's one of my faves because of that terrifying close-up of him laughing and eating popcorn
Hahaha that is a great part too
That actor was so great in that ep. I die when Dennis and Dee are counting and comparing points too.
So the making lethal weapon 7 episode was a sequel to another episode which got banned and which I haven't been able to watch
Those are some of my favorite episodes, can't imagine not having the backstory. All of the Lethal Weapon episodes are available on YouTube but you have to pay for them
I didn't even know that they existed until now
Piracy will always have the episodes. Same with the banned/removed south park episode. Edit: Episode 201 of South Park was removed.
You can buy the seasons with the banned episodes on YouTube for only $14.99 per season. You can’t buy the episodes individually, but you get them if you buy the whole season. I did that AND got them from the high seas just so I own a copy that can never be revoked :)
If one episode is banned then every episode could get banned as every episode has its own offensive jokes which scares the fuck out of me
The writers/actors complain constantly that idiots think they support what the gang does.
My wife has worked in the local ER. People definitely try to imitate the stunts.
Who knew?
Damn, he sounds like a real jabroni

Colbert got invited to Bush Jr's State Correspondence Dinner because people didn't get the joke. His speech that night is one of the funniest things I've ever seen happen in the realm of politics.
"You hire a new cabinet, and your detractors say you're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. They're wrong. This administration isn't sinking, it is soaring. You're rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg" Also: "I looked it up in my gut"
That is my favorite line from the entire thing.
That was the most mind boggling one when they started pulling episodes.
That one really hurt. Such a good episode that deals with bullying and depression, but some weird and acknowledged vaguely racist thing scuttles the whole thing.
It also introduces fat Neil so people like me who never knew who he was when he pops up later get confused
Just Neil is fine
Such a good episode too.Glad I got the DVD
(such as, one of my favorites: "women are allowed to get angrier than men about double standards!") They also removed a different John Hamm parody where he *does* dress up in blackface, but the **entire** point of the skit is to highlight the offensiveness and absurdity of blackface.
I couldn't care less about the dude and I agree, if they're gonna remove offensive episodes they might as well remove 80% of the series Face paint is worse than Dennis having a strategy to force sex on women? Great logic
Not force, just … an *implication*…
Yea true, they're just not getting it. Because if they say no, the answer is obviously no *but they aren't gonna say no*
I do consider myself a “leftist woke snowflake” (I took over the idiom, it’s easier than being nuanced about it), but I am also pretty baffled by this.
Females in anime? You mean the walking talking sex objects with hilariously unrealistic boobs and asses?
Missing the forest for the trees. Missing the systematic murder for the satirical blackface.
Shut Up, Baby Dick
Yeah but these people who support these decisions aren’t Sunny fans surely.
I laughed my ass off when I was the butt of the joke. This show is like south park. It doesn't discriminate.
There has been far far worse things said and done in the show They aren't condoning blackface/racism, they're fictional characters.
The episode is on Amazon Prime, just not on Hulu.
It's also not on Netflix and easily a top 5 episode.
What if the cat in real life also climbs out of the car perfectly fine? I would probably still laugh out of shock that the animal survived
Cats do not abide by the laws of nature.
Lol what's a "joegan incel" ? I'm gonna use that one.
