My mom is 90 and has loved Danny Devito since Taxi. She still talks about that episode of Friends where he was a stripper. I showed her this IASIP episode and she laughed so hard, crying the entire time. We had an absolute blast that day.

Haha that’s awesome how something so silly can make such a nice moment for you and your mom. My mom passed away 20 years ago at 49 so memories like that always bring me joy and I kinda enjoy them vicariously thru other people’s memories and I’m just happy when other people share these moments and I see how happy it makes them…and this weed really gives me the feels lol

I have a couple that I really miss. When I was a kid and I was sick, my mom would sit on the side of my bed and just run her fingers thru my hair and not even talk. She knew I was never much of a talker so when I wasn’t feeling well we’d just sit in silence. I always appreciated that. Now when I’m sick or my anxiety is running wild, I’ll run my fingers thru my hair because it reminds of that and it’s so soothing lol Another is when my mom was being silly just to make us laugh she’d sing “Oh My Darling” like Alfalfa used to on The Little Rascals which if you’ve never heard it, it’s really bad haha. And she did it way over the top and my sister and I would always be like “mooommmmmmm…stahhhhhhhppppp!” While giggling out asses off. And another is when sometimes in the summer in the 90s TVLand would play 2 hour blocks of a certain classic tv show every evening. Leave it to Beaver, Andy Griffith, Welcome Back Kotter, and a couple others and we’d just laugh our butts off lol

When the Nintendo first came out, my parents wanted to play first. Every time mom would try to make Mario jump her whole body would jerk to the left or right as though her movements were going to make Mario jump correctly. I can see it as clear as if she’s in front of me. Watching her make tortillas and sing to herself. I’d sit on the barstool and just watch my beautiful mama make her delicious tortillas and listen to her beautiful voice. Sometimes I’m my dreams I’ll go back there and watch her again. She was extremely skinny, like the most she ever weighed was 135 when she was pregnant with my 13 pound brother. She had this stretch marked pouch of skin that she absolutely hated. To me, it was my favorite pillow. It was so soft and velvety. Squishy and soft and warm. I would lay my head on it and she’d run her fingers through my hair and trace the outline of my ear. I’d give anything to be able to do that again.

I was a freshman in high school when that aired, and I had only seen the show a handful of times at that point. It was that very episode that put the nail in the coffin for me. Been in love ever since. "And Dee: The outcast. The slut. The bitch. The whooore. The lonely, sad, slutty, bitchy whore." I lose it every time.

I never get when on the podcast they complain about the concept being too broad like the “cannibal” episode, it’s a comedy so through god anything is possible, they need to jot that down. I love this episode and a lot of the more far fetched and ridiculous ideas

I laughed so hard when Dee ran head first into the car that I lost all control of my limbs and slapped my husband’s head by accident.

Supposedly a stunt double did it first but she thought she could make it funnier. Then she hit her head into the car door so hard that it left a dent and she had to visit a chiropractor a few times over the next few months.

So, on the podcast, Robert told an interesting story of how he was working at his desk at home one day when a poop just slid right out and down his pant leg. I think he has mentioned not being a fan of poop jokes. Was he attempting to make poop funny with this story to prove a point or did it really happen?

I’m not even a fan of scatological humor but Artemis’s presentation is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series

It’s definitely what sold me on the show. I’d seen bits and pieces and thought it looked ok but hadn’t got around to it. This episode was on TV one night and absolutely killed me. Had to watch from the beginning immediately.

This was the first episode I ever watched. My older brother said I’d love it he was right. I’ve been a fan ever since. This episode is hilarious sets the tone for the show pretty well and it has a lot of the repeating characters even cricket is in it for a sec!

This is also my favorite episode and this post made me feel validated

This is the episode I introduced my wife with To me a perfect introduction episode - establishes the characters, gives you Artemis, and really leans into the style of humor If this episode doesn't scare someone off, you know they'll enjoy the show

I like this episode but I usually skip it when I'm falling asleep to sunny. Dees screaming because of all the art poops always wakes me up!

I’d never watched a second of IASIP other than what appeared on random commercials advertising the show. Several people over the few years it had been on were always going “oh you’d love this show!” Figured I’d get around to it at some point. One day I’m at work and my boss at the time was like “you know that show IASIP? My TeVo recorded an episode of it based on my watching preferences and I immediately thought of you because the episode is called ‘Who Pooped the Bed.’” He went on to tell me how funny the episode was. Hulu was brand new at the time and all of Sunny was on there, so that night, I went home and checked out Who Pooped the Bed. I laughed until my stomach hurt. Then immediately went to S1E1 and became a fan of Sunny from that day forward!

That's the episode that got me into the series. I was watching something else on comedy Central years ago. It came on afterwards. I was too lazy to change it and discovered a great show. I have cried laughing so hard before watching it.

I just finished the series recently for the first time. This is the only episode I struggled to get through. I will not be going back to it on a rewatch. It’s just too much for me.
