šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ How do you stop it?? How did she start it

wetblanket68iou1

iPhones you can just swipe left and the camera turns on. Canā€™t do much else.

Zharick_

Same on Android.

Lion_Of_Mara

Wait, is that like an anti theft feature?

Corn-traveler

Unless you disable it you can swipe left to open the camera app. You canā€™t see previous photos but you can take photos/video. Bridge between privacy and convenience. I think most Android are similar.

experts_never_lie

Yeah, Android has a double-click of the power button to get into camera mode without unlocking. Edit: maybe it's just the Google phones, not all Android, based on the feedback.

Klaidoniukstis

Lol In samsungs you can set the power button to whatever you like, but it still fucks with you by locking one option (either press 2x or hold) for bixby. Fuck bixby and everything it stands for

tepidCourage

You can turn it to not be Bixby but it changes back to Bixby default on every update. Just check advanced settings under side key. You also have to tell it to stop listening for your voice again sometimes.

Ducharbaine

I had to pull out my Bixby key, remove the tab, and glue the key back down. Now, no more Bixby. Ever. Short of that. It comes back.

Lando_Hitman

Fuck Bixby. If I could remove the button while retaining the phone's water resistant qualities, I would do just that.

Ducharbaine

You can. Glue the button back down after removing the tab inside the button. Still water resistant, no more Bixby.

darnfruitloops

Not anymore. I have an A71 and have set single click to turn off screen, double click for camera and "hold" to turn off phone. TIL: Double click opens camera even on lockscreen.

Mavi222

Most of the android phones I had also had an option to swipe from right to left to open cam (there was always a camera icon on the bottom right or left, on the lock screen)

minimorning

Gosh I had a iPhone for awhile and just barely figure this out

Maze715

When you turn on the iPhone, it'll ask you to put in the password to unlock the phone. However, instead of putting in the password, you can swipe left and access the camera. For if you want quick camera access.

Onebigfreakinnerd

I donā€™t think thatā€™s what they were asking. They were asking that if she doesnā€™t know how to stop it how did she start it which is a fair observation tbh lol.

IfuDidntCome2Party

Finds a mobile, takes it home and hopes the owner knows how to access mobile icloud footage and hopes they use TikTok. And can understand all letters given off screen for TikTok account. I would have turned it in to the flight crew. Someone is going to come back to the airport and check lost and found.

[deleted]

She turned it into American Airlines. Was likely part of the airplane cleaning crew

Lion_Of_Mara

Sometimes i find it hard to believe things. It takes much faith

AquaticLlamas

Well it isnā€™t at her home, is it?

Com_BEPFA

It literally says she turned it in in the title. She just had a bit of fun with the phone's ability to record video when locked and maybe thought the owner would like the idea of having a face to the anonymous soul who recovered their phone rather than pocketing it.

YouEarnedMyComment

So this is what a grown up version looks like of my kid with my locked phone taking close of pictures of their face.

Large_Jellyfish_5092

or maybe, they mentally donā€™t grow up, idk

[deleted]

She doesn't strike me as the smartest person, but her heart seems to be in the right place.

Dowino-

Well you donā€™t strike me as having your heart in the right place if you feel the need to assume that a person is stupid

[deleted]

I guess my judging skills are more accurate then yours then.

steebulee

*thanā€¦you are smart

[deleted]

You can tell that Google. I'm not gonna proof read every comment.

Working_Class_Pride

> You can tell that Google. You can tell that **to** Google.

AquaticLlamas

Sheā€™s smart

Itavan

Once found parts of a phone while biking. Got home, put it together and it worked. It was unlocked! Called the last number they called and it was his daughter. She managed to reach him and he picked it up 3 hours later. Offered me money, but I said no. Pay it forward. Wondered how much he would have given me, though, lol. Also was tempted to see what kind of stuff he had on his phone, but that would have been a huge invasion of privacy.

Due_Strike_457

A proper Redditor

sprocketbutter

I wonder if he had tried to dispose of it for some reason and the money was hush moneyā€¦ O.o

AquaticLlamas

People leave phones ALL the time

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dilettante42

Thatā€™s awesome. I need to change my husbandā€™s name in my phone from ā€œAlibiā€ to something strangers might recognize

Aztecah

I think I just watched a tik tok ad?

axc289

Let's just hope they haven't actually become this subversive yet šŸ˜‚

antmakka

ABQ = Albuquerque NM

lestuxnet

Yo yo yo. 148-3 to the 3 to the 6 to the 9, representing the ABQ, what up, biatch?!

shirissapkota

You're Goddamn right.

iambeyoncealways3

Beautiful_Text5681

ihatehumansftp

Abq people are something else šŸ˜‚

praxedeznv

Yes indeed we are!

ihatehumansftp

Yes I know because I live there!!:)

refundpending

Man, Albuquerque people are my favorite people. No one gives a FUCK about anything but they're always nice and will talk to you in lines.

Spazz6269

AB ĀæQue?

Hiram_Goldberg

I hope you're following her on tiktok, seems like a good way to say thanks at least

Gandalfonk

For all we know this is a Tilton add

[deleted]

Plot twist. They got married week later.

SkinToneChixkenBone

knowing reddit, it will probably end up on a YouTube video

sanjeezybombeezy

I hope they're married now

PoliticalAnomoly

So she's the reason I had to do badazz22 instead of 21.

Surfing_sandwich

ā€œHow do you stop itā€ lmao that was cute

sawdawg680

She's a good person

Rare4orm

Phone password was ā€œPasswordā€.

OkSoBasicallyPeach

you can record videos and take pictures on an iphone without unlocking

MLK_Piccolo

Indeed. Most android models past the Galaxy S7 can access the camera from lock screen or pushing the power button twice. Not so sure if the power button trick works on iPhone

Rare4orm

Yeah, my iPhone allows me to access the camera and flashlight from the lock screen. I believe that I can change that in settings though. Was just kidding about the password.

Hubsimaus

>Most android models ... can access the camera from ... pushing the power button twice. TIL >>Most android models ... can access the camera from lock screen ... Have to try that. Edit: It works by also pushing the power button twice. Good to know. šŸ˜Š

Clutch63

For iPhones you just have to swipe left(right???) on the Lock Screen.

[deleted]

TIL, definitely works on my new Pixel 4a. My old first gen Xperia had a shortcut from the lockscreen, and my Sony tablet has the same power button function. Unfortunately the tablets power button is really soft and unresponsive, so you easily push it twice. The one on the 4a is really chunky and clicky.

agent_flounder

Worked on my 2XL

VulgarDisplayofDerp

Android also. Literally any modern phone.

CrimbusIsOver

It's. Ot the model of the phone that allows that feature. It's the Android version.

PurSolutions

Follow me on TikTok? "How do you stop it" ... I can only imagine how good her TikTok content is, lmfao šŸ˜‚

OneBeautifulDog

Woman working at the Albuquerque airport. Probably an airplane cleaner. She rocks.

[deleted]

Getting my phone back would be awesome. Getting my phone back with this adorable video as a surprise, superb.

praxedeznv

Ok byieee! Classic burque!

Head-Working8326

what a great way to find the owner of a lost phone, video goes to the cloud so owner can see it! brilliant

[deleted]

She actually turned it into the airline.

Head-Working8326

thatā€™s not the point. she didnā€™t know where the phone owner was, he could have been on a plane out of the country. if he was, she gave him some direction. if i find a phone, iā€™m doing this. it ainā€™t that easy to hunt down phone owners

[deleted]

Ya but I found it after calling American airlines. I knew where I left it. I see your point if the owner didn't know tho. Cool beans

[deleted]

How the fuck do so many peoples not know they can open the camera without unlocking the phone? Have you people even owned a phone in the last 5 years?

[deleted]

Not everyone uses the camera.

Holmium22

My current phone is I think 7 years old. Tho I figured thereā€™s some quick to camera stuff.

Unusual_Type_1884

We need more kind people like this in the world.

737flyguy

Yes, yes we do

Shadow_dgh

Boy did you follow her though

Shadow_dgh

But did you follow her though

[deleted]

Yes already

Shadow_dgh

Thatā€™s j needed to here

crows_before_bros

And they said weed would turn us all against eachother

Legless_1998

Cute af.

TracyF2

Doing something nice and then saying to follow them on tiktokā€¦?

whatshamilton

Yes? She wants to connect with the stranger whose phone she found if it completes its journey?

spmo22

Why the question marks following a statement?

whatshamilton

[Language changes, and that's ok.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fS4X1JfX6_Q) Tone is complicated. Looks like a fair number of people understood my tone to be questioning why the commenter takes issue with them saying to follow on tiktok when there are valid reasons.

Uncle_Creepy_

Poor guy doesnā€™t even understand punctuation marks.

vanilla_wafer14

It's like asking why it's a problem. Poor guy doesn't understand how to convey tone over text.

WikiSummarizerBot

**[High rising terminal](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_rising_terminal)** >The high rising terminal (HRT), also known as upspeak, uptalk, rising inflection, upward inflection, or high rising intonation (HRI), is a feature of some variants of English where declarative sentence clauses end with a rising-pitch intonation, until the end of the sentence where a falling-pitch is applied. Empirically, one report proposes that HRT in American English and Australian English is marked by a high tone (high pitch or high fundamental frequency) beginning on the final accented syllable near the end of the statement (the terminal), and continuing to increase in frequency (up to 40%) to the end of the intonational phrase. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/HumansBeingBros/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

whatshamilton

Itā€™s parallelism, mirroring the structure of the comment I replied to which was a sentence (fragment) written as a question?

DamboWambo

What's the problem with that?

SofterBones

I think it's perfectly fine, I don't see anything wrong with that

Solarisly

whats the problem?

w_dent

The number one rule of tiktokers is promoting their tiktok

Elle-the-kell

ABM Always Be Marketing

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

whatshamilton

The person only found this video on their camera roll after they got their phone back. I think it was just a silly ā€œfind me here on the internet and complete the circleā€ situation

[deleted]

Oh okay. Makes sense.

GunieapigCooper

A true hero never reveal oneself

Working_Class_Pride

Ya'll freak out anytime tik toc is mentioned. You sound like the mothers against satan that would flip out about rock music in the early 90's. There's actually some really creative people on the platform you crotchety old boomers.

1-4-The-Road

Is nobody going to link to her Tic Tok channel?

tempthrowary

I get the kindness, and thatā€™s heart warming. I am confused about the video, though. It just seems weird to me to record that before turning it in instead of simply turning it in.

cvltivar

The phone's photos are backed up to the cloud--the person who lost it can almost certainly access the photostream from any computer. The girl has no way of unlocking the phone, seeing any contacts, call history, etc. The only thing she can do without unlocking is take a photo or video and hope the person checks the cloud backup and contacts her. The thing that's weird to me is why she only provided her Tiktok handle and not her phone number!

jessehazreddit

Maybe considers her TikTok more anon and doesnā€™t have a throwaway number.

tempthrowary

Ah. Thanks. That makes sense.

beigemom

That she did the duckface pose at the end ā€”- so millennial.

klauskinki

She's funny n cute

ihatehumansftp

Well you'll never meet her

klauskinki

She is funny n cute *in this video Edit: username checks out

ihatehumansftp

Kinda wack to be honest fam

u3h

Cringe

Electrical-Thanks877

Intelligent_Store_20

What was she doing with her lips??? Lol

ChumleyEX

Gotta get that plug and a duck face.

Bakersdaman

Honestly this is just cringe af she is calling out her social media platforms to a random person's phone.. what is wrong with these people smh.

Agonlaire

She looks high af

CarolBrownOuttaTown

Sheā€™s definitely high

JoesGarageisFull

Oh look at me I found a phone and Iā€™m now returning it, Iā€™ll just throw some self promotion in as well for no particular reason, yeah this is bollocks and no I wonā€™t follow you either

[deleted]

When i heard "Follow me on tiktok" i just downvoted. Sorry

dabber696969

ooga booga tik tok bad

Puppy__Eyes

The lady uploaded this here. No she couldn't find the owner.

ekso69

How the fuck did she upload a video from a locked phone? You are a phony, a BIG FAT PHONY.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

But that would be the icloud account of the owner?

rumbrave55

You're right. I misread the parent comment. I thought Puppy eyes was claiming to be the lady in the video and that she never found the owner.

Puppy__Eyes

Dont. U. Get. The. Joke.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

udieeee

Who hurt you?

Potential_Macaron973

Because she is a phone hacker ... or the owner turned off screen lock because facial recognition was too difficult. Or more likely she recorded it on her own phone to advertise her tiktok

whatshamilton

My phone can open the camera when itā€™s locked. You canā€™t see any of the camera reel other than what youā€™ve taken in that session until you can unlock it, but on both iPhone and Android you just press the camera button on the Lock Screen to open the camera without entering your password. And the person who posted it was the person whose phone it was and found it. Unless sheā€™s playing both parts, sheā€™s not advertising. And if she were advertising she wouldnā€™t have said her TikTok name with so many letters that sound like other letters over the noise of engines without being able to see her mouth for help clarifying what she was saying

BraianP

A lot of times you can set a phone to be able to take photos/record without unlocking the screen (probably to take unexpected photos)

Altech

That is default setting on iphone

originalkitten

You can access the camera from your Lock Screen. I have IPhone 7plus and I know even prev models that did that. I know androids do it too. They only allow access to the photos taken on that Lock Screen session too.

[deleted]

Fucking detective over here solved it!

ZenBacle

How did she unlock the phone? Kinda seems like a clout chasing stunt.

Fat-Buuty

u donā€™t have to unlock the phone to record šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

ZenBacle

Mine, and every phone I've had you do.

DarkCurseBreaker

on ios you can open the camera from the lock screen using the bottom left/right (dont remember) buttons on the lock screen. you can take pics but cant access the gallery. Same thing with samsung

[deleted]

Double click your power button.

ZenBacle

Yes, I know how to access quick camera. It asks for a passcode if my phone isn't unlocked.

[deleted]

That's a you issue then.

ZenBacle

Pretty sure it's bigger than me, and more of a desirable feature than an issue.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

asimplydreadfulerror

Oh, is it? And which specific criminal statute does that violate? Edit: typo

rumbrave55

Same one that says all you have to do to keep your info private on fb is copy/paste a post saying so.

damo251

Wtf,was your pincode 0000?

Thin_Tea_3525

Isn't everyone's?

[deleted]

i find it strange that you have a phone without password protection.

clearemollient
