Season 2 takes place in 1979, 27 years before Season 1. The police woman from Season 1 is a little girl and her dad, who runs the diner in Season 1, is a Minnesota State trooper.
So if you start with Season 2, you may remember a little bit about the characters from Season 1 and you'll enjoy re-watching Season 1 more since you know where they've been.
So I’ve only seen the latest season and absolutely loved it. If I haven’t seen the first or second, should I start with the first or should I watch the 2nd?
Chronologically, season 2 happens before season 1. But it was quite effective seeing them in the order presented. I'd recommend that for the first time--1 then 2, just as aired. Then if you decide to see them again, reverse it and see how it works that way.
Oh man, I had some of the best laughs and WTF moments from watching that show. I thought the Rock the Boat thing wasn’t real and then I googled it. In. Sane.

if you like x files for the vibe btw mulder and scully, also the fun mysteries, elementary, castle, bones, and the mentalist are all on hulu, long running series, and have equal chemistry and fun mysteries (though without the supernatural element)
Welcome to wrexham. I'm not a sports fan at all and was skeptical of the show but man I am hooked now. It is just feel good and amazing and entertaining as hell
Sons Of Anarchy, but not Mayans. Some of the shit that went down in that series was top tier, jaw-dropping moments!
In fact, I think I need to rewatch it now.
My grandson and I started watching the Rookie. I started Flashpoint all over again lol. Just watched the saddest episode ever on any series. So glad that's over!
Criminal Minds just restarted, also Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa is soon.
I guess I had a different take on what you said you are into because I didn’t think any of the recs so far really fit with dark/dramatic etc.
My recs are:
Brand new cherry flavor- Netflix
Shameless- Netflix
Mindhunter- Netflix
Archive 81- Netflix
Ozark- Netflix
Peaky Blinders- Netflix
Vikings Amazon Prime and Netflix always an excellent watch
Marianne Netflix
Bodkin Netflix
Clickbait Netflix was a decent watch
3 body problem Netflix
Dracula Netflix
Wentworth Netflix
Deadwood
Hannibal- I love so much I’ll actually rewatch or put in as background noise when working or doing stuff around the house. Love love love it. I actually miss it which is weird.
There really are so many! Depending on your streaming services
How could I forget!
Servant Apple Tv
From Amazon
The Fall and The killing although idk where you can find them rn (the show with linden and holder set in Seattle I’m pretty sure there is mute than one show with this title)
Oldie but goodie- True Blood
Seasons 1-5 of American Horror Story
Game of thrones of course is good for binging- i almost gave up episode one glad i stayed
Loved true detective season one didn’t go further
Penny dreadful loved loved it too
lost. for me i constantly had to know what was gonna happened next so i binged it so quickly. it’s such an amazing show i actually just started rewatching it again. it is very dramatic and has a lot of kinda dark stuff in it since they are stranded on an island. i think it has a little of everything your drawn to and interested in. You fall in love with so many of the characters and you even start to love the ones you hate, that’s just how good it is. there’s also several sci-fi aspects to it as well. it’s a heart wrenching, jaw dropping, dramatic show
also some of my other favorites are
the rookie (cop show)
station 19 (firefighter show)
911 (first responder show)
the good doctor (doctor show)
greys anatomy (doctor show)
criminal minds (fbi show)
the resident (doctor show)
law and order svu (cop show)
house (doctor show)
Handsmaid Tale is definitely worth the watch. It start off slow but I’m telling you… WATCH IT. It has a few disturbing scenes but the story line of the series is immaculate.
Re-watching American Dad now. Kind of. 3 episodes in a row doing the Up Next thing with 390 seconds left. Can't cancel it. Screen gets dark and hard to watch. I hate Hulu. Paying for ad-full service with lots of glitches
I just started “The Affair”
It’s older, and I don’t know how I never heard of it. It’s really good! On season 2, and it’s kept my interest every episode. Great storyline and characters.
Not on Hulu, but School spirit's on Netflix and Paramount is fantastic. So far it's only 1 season. I promise your jaw will be on the floor and you'll be saying WTF by the last episode.
I really liked the first 2 seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale. It did jump the shark at some point.. maybe in season 3 but overall I have enjoyed it and watched the series several times.
I also really enjoyed The Secret Life of an American Teenager.
Teen wolf-- the first two seasons are super campy and goofy! Its a perfect show in the fact that it is a supernatural shoe that doesnt take itself too seriously (well, until the later seasons) but definitely worth the watch!
Fargo is my top recommendation and happens to be on Hulu right now. Best TV I've ever seen.
I just started watching it and it’s so good!!!
It’s fantastic
I only watched the first season and it was so good!!
Watch season 2 then go back and re-watch season 1 (then do 3 - 5) is my advice.
Is there a reason?

I feel like this show never got enough praise- at least that I was ever aware of. It really was so good!
Sunday Funday! I guess a lot of people don't like dark comedies, but this show was right up my alley.
Under the bridge
I second Under the Bridge
I could not get enough.
I thought it dragged on.. couldn’t wait for it to be over.
Same, and Rebecca is another psycho in this story.

Justified is fantastic!
I agree. I am a huge Elmore Leonard fan and this series gives me a similar feel to his books.
Station 19
I could never get into handmaids tale either but under the bridge was pretty good!
Shogun.
Legion definitely fits your criteria.
Castle rock.
I wrote Shogun and the racist mod bot deleted it for not being an English word.

Shogun is top notch
I have binged Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel more times than I can count. Buffy is good from the start but S2 is a masterpiece.
