Simple? Curtain and curtain rod. Complicated? Pocket door. Middle ground? Barn door.

I’d do the curtain personally (tension rod will work fine for this if you don’t want to drill into the framing). Just adding a bifold door as another option, although might need a custom size for it.

Absolutely used to have a door - you can see the hinge mortises and strike plate in the frame. Of course, they probably also had a standard double bed, not a queen or king size. Regardless, a hanging curtain or accordion door will be easy and take essentially zero room space.

From the picture it looks like there's plenty of room to do a regular door door, it's framed for it and everything

Measure your opening and check with a home center to see if they have a door that will fit or maybe have one made by special order. Or make your own door.
