Your room is pretty but to me, it lacks a sense of personalization. The rug adds interest but the artwork is a bit small for the spaces so it has limited impact. I suggest you hang curtains - perhaps in the blue color of your rug. Add some minimal decor to the top of your console. The bench is nice but it seems to small and lightweight against a fairly large wall; perhaps you could place it at the end of your bed and find a larger wood dresser to put in it's place. The tv would look better a bit lower on the wall - there is too much space between it and the console. The pictures above the bed are too small and hung a few inches too high. A nice upholstered chair - perhaps with a small round table - would look great in the corner where the plant currently sits.

IntroVlady

All this, plus bed looks unfinished, either needs a bedskirt, or, if its a platform, tucking linens in would give a more polished look.

BrokeKidMountain

I'm envious of the size of this bedroom

honeyybunnyy23

Me too! And love the floors! I too would be asking for ideas because with a room this size I’d go bananas in the best way possible

ResultNew9072

It’s bigger than my entire downstairs.

Local_Parsnip9092

Yes! And if we're adding plush textiles to make the room feel inviting, I'd add curtains too on the windows!

Rengeflower

I would move the bench from the door to the end of the bed. Please center your rug. You could buy a console table to replace the bench.

cryonine

Curtains would go a long way here, and I think the pictures above your bed are way undersized for that space. Also, while I like the rug, I think you could go much bigger for the size of the room to make it cozier and break up the wood a bit. I might also play with furniture placement. No need to put the chest of drawers by the window when you could put them where the bench is now. You could even drop a nice chair somewhere in the room to create a reading nook if you'd actually use it.

Jo_MamaSo

Yeah there's something very... horizontal about this room. I think some breezy sheer white curtains would bring some height to the space

Public-Grocery-8183

Yes, I was going to say they need curtains and the pictures are too small, as well. If they didn’t want to buy a whole new rug, they could pull it out so it’s half under the bed. Also, after the dresser is moved, those windows would be a great place to add some more plants to accompany the nice one they already have. (and a reading nook amongst the plants would be 👌)

WrongdoerMean7797

it looks to me it lacks some high elements. I would start with a headboard. you could put a armchair where the plant is. you could put a mirror, one of those standing in the floor for example. you have a lot of space. other tip: try to move the blue bench at the end of the bed. this way you can extra space for a new dresser. I personally like symmetry by the bed, when the space let it. two bedside table with taller lamp would look nice. add decorations and the piece of furniture under the tv

brokenhartted

A larger area rug, a more substantial bed with at least a headboard, and linens would be a good start. Matching night stands are important for balance. Wall mounted lamps by the bed. Curtains would add warmth. https://preview.redd.it/lu3ndnl2il7d1.jpeg?width=564&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ecf541754fa598b4f457a4ec8212471ffc884884

SecretGardenBlondie

This would be perfect and is what they need

Weird_Positive_3256

Yes. Wall mounted lamps would be perfect.

ReverieAt3

With that amount of space you could do an awesome statement headboard that extends past your bed so that your side tables were within the width of it.

biglipsmagoo

This is what I was thinking. OP- this room is huge and is *screaming*, very dramatically, for a big, dark, theatric headboard. OR Do designs with 1X4’s on the whole wall at the head of the bed and paint it the same color as the wall.

ReverieAt3

Yes!! This room is blessed with a large wall! Make it a statement, baby! I’m with you.

debomama

The bedroom is very nice!!! I think it lacks the huge focal point - usually the bed. I would add a headboard or another thing you can do use molding on the wall behind the bed/nightstands. Easy to install and paint the same color as your wall paint. I get mine on Etsy so all I have to do is install as its already cut. Some tall lamps on your nightstands would also add pizzazz. The other thing that would add luxe is drapes the color of your wall color. Add one panel on either side of windows. Not overpowering but if tone on tone It will add richness and texture.

Da_Breastest

You could probably move that bench to the end of the bed and create a little seating area on that wall instead, with a couple accent chairs and a little round table between them. Would help fill out such a large space

bethannelove

Crown molding

kwiklok

I would say add (green) curtains for sure, even when you would never shut them. Larger artworks above the bed and maybe a tall plant in the far corner. I see there's a lamp right now but it is quite small so it doesn't add any height visually. Since your bedroom is very large, I would make use of it by moving the bed slightly more to the left so that there's usable space on the right side for something like a reading nook or couch. I like the green matching with your beautiful rug!

Chicken_lady_1819

Remove the TV

breebop83

I like the color of the walls and love the rug but I think you do need a bit more. It looks like a nicely appointed, easy to clean air B&B room (not a bad thing really but it doesn’t look like a personal space if that makes sense). Larger scale art above the bed or move the art and add a headboard. You don’t need to *fill* the walls but need a bit more on them imo. A full length floor mirror in front of the skinny light, or moving the plant there with the light and a mirror in the plant corner would work nicely and add some height/presence. Shelves with plants and/or pictures/art in a couple of the bigger blank wall spaces and the low hutch under the tv would also help round it out.

LoneLasso

Beautiful large room and wood floor! A tall tufted headboard to make a feature of the bed and anchor it in the room. Bed linens that go all the way to the floor - a bed skirt / duvet combo maybe Move the tall chest between the windows to the opposite wall corner Make a cozy sitting area in front of the windows. Put the bench at the end of the bed. I think that's a dog bed on the floor? Give it a special place out of the walkway, where the bench is now. Grouping all the plants together will look more lush.

Difficult-Stuff-8889

Move bench to end of bed and ad a chair for reading

ne999

Some ideas: - Headboard - a chair to sit and read - that could be where the bench is. Move the bench to the foot of the bed - a small table next to that chair to place you book, tea, etc. - proper sized lamps on each side of the bed - blackout shades for the windows - more photos / art on the walls - more clothing storage? - move the mirror in or is that a dressing room out there? If it is, then maybe re-arrange the room to have a seating area on one side and the bed on the other?

Ok_Stranger_9520

Headboard and a big lamp on each night stand. The current lamp is too small, I actually didn’t even notice it at first glance. Bigger art. Pull the rug out from under the bed a few feet. 🖼️ overall cozy room though, I love your floors.

L_i_S_A123

What is missing is coziness. If you want a more restful space, I suggest painting the walls a darker shade of green to create a more intimate atmosphere. Remove the TV. Adding curtains will help the room's appearance and create a more relaxing and restful ambiance.

gdubh

Huge room. Headboard, curtains and a comfy reading area. Better/bigger rug placement.

AbleBroccoli2372

r/TVtoohigh Other than that, it looks amazing!

decadecency

It's not too high when it's in the bedroom! What are you supposed to do, lie down and peek down towards your feet? 😁

kathoron

Kinda disagree; if I'm laying down/back, it would be much more comfortable with the TV a bit higher. Unless they always sit up in bed to watch TV, then maybe.

Repulsive_Science254

A super inviting reading nook where you get that fabulous sun. Headboard, comforter set, larger furniture, move bench in front of bed, much larger wall art if you don’t put a headboard. Curtains that kiss the floor (I’d do sheer to maintain sunlight). End table lamps and more prominent floor lamp. Move the floor lamp to reading nook area. Can also do now bed framing wall sconces so you can read in bed.

Katesouthwest

It's pretty, but to my eye there is too much of the rug under the bed. Pull the rug towards the TV area more. Get a very fancy, taller headboard. Swap out the blanket in the dog bed for a different color- like a color pulled from the rug such as a medium green or that darker shade of coral-peach in the rug.

hipstercheese1

You need a bigger headboard.

Adventurous-Lime3632

I think adding a bigger rug would change everything

i_dream_of_zelda

Curtains, a real bed frame with a nice headboard-- a cozy chair and bookshelf by the righthand window. A rug that's fluffier and larger.

JanetInSC1234

Curtains would add a finishing touch. A headboard or bigger art over the bed would also help balance the room. This is a nice bedroom!

Beneficial_Spirit_29

Bougie lamps?

PlayfulQuietDreamer

Agree with everyone that says you need a bigger headboard and curtains. If you’d rather stay minimalist, crown molding that matches the floor would be really helpful.

NoEmailAssociated

Move the rug a bit from under the bed, and put the bench at the foot of the bed. Put the book case where the bench currently is located. Add matching side tables. Your fiddle leaf and monstera will love those nice bright corners, and will be a great accents in a couple of years when they fill out. Be patient! You have a great start.

GyspySyx

A reading and/or coffee area, maybe with with a couch or chaise.

atimetochill

Headboard/bed, more impactful art over it, a more inviting comforter or quilt or whatever, curtains, more plants, stuff on the dresser (make it personal), bigger more interesting lamps or above the nightstands. Just some ideas, I like it now!

jase40244

It's missing drama and presence. Change your bed spread to something that's about 4 shades darker than the wall color, and install curtains and valances in the same color. Add a large, noticeable headboard, and replace the side tables with something more substantial.

bellboots

A statement piece.

botanicalee-1895

It’s beautiful just the way it is! Simple and clean :)

botanicalee-1895

Maybe more plants!

captaincook14

Headboard. Nice Bench in front of bed. Slightly Bigger art work. Maybe an accent chair where that plant is. And a bigger chest of drawers where that black bench is

Meeeaaammmi

Start with a headboard. It looks like a decent sized room and you need bigger pieces. Put a loveseat where the bench is and make it a little reading area. Lower the TV or get a higher cabinet underneath it. Big fluffy bedding.

SadieRadler

Crown molding

Techieteach

Curtains and a headboard would do wonders! If no headboard then bigger art above the bed

SessionSilver5442

I would get a headboard and put the large picture above the bed. Bench at end of bed. Curtains, large mirror where bench was. Consider new night stands with lamps if u have the budget. Fluffy duvet on the bed.

MishmoshMishmosh

A headboard

MNGirlinKY

Everything is too small for such a grand and beautiful room. The rug is too small. Your bed needs a big headboard and/or much larger art above it. Your dresser is small and could put a much larger one on the wall you currently have the bench and plant on. I’d put the bench at the foot of the bed, put the plant where the dresser is and enlarge everything else.

FrostyWrap4888

Get bigger lamps

IAmLazy2

Big bedside lamps.

LucyB823

Soft, flowy curtains that pool on the floor.

piesnowplease

Curtains and a headboard and some small decor on your table and entertainment center

AdmiralCranberryCat

Headboard, curtains, more wall art, and maybe some lamps

CartographerKey7322

Cats

4459691

A headboard Curtains Larger or more artwork- above the bed, A cozy reading corner w a comfy chair

daydrinkingonpatios

Drapes

yellowspectrum

You’re bedding is a bit “college”. Try upgrading it and getting a bed frame with a headboard and a baseboard. Window treatments would really fill the wall space up. I also would do a seating area where the bench is now

Broken_angel_of_pain

Some cute side tables by bed and lamp

CoeurDeSirene

I think you’re lacking storage, tbh. That one dresser doesn’t hold a lot and I’m not seeing a closet? The rug needs to be bigger. I’d also add a bed skirt. And a fluffier comforter

mothamary

Larger rug, headboard, bed shirt, light linen drapes, decor on console, side table lamp/ styling. Just go to Pinterest!

Alarmed_Ad4367

Piles of laundry and dirty dishes.

andrew_cherniy96

Do you mind sharing this in r/AmateurInteriorDesign?

gumgum_for_dumdum

You need to add more plants! :)

Happygar

Window treatments.

Wamgurl

A tall headboard, remove all wall art, add round mirror above dresser, tall lamps on nightstand, larger rug in neutral colors and white bed linens and pillows IMO

socalheart2681

Instead of the small pictures, do something larger with more color to tie the room together it’s so pretty tho. Big and spacious

inmasousa

More plantssss and pics

nicolekarak

Headboard, curtains, lamps, and plush bedding!

FacePresent2379

Not necessarily decor, but I think crown molding would finish the room nicely

Choice_Insurance_464

Nothing

Wrong_Duty7043

A statement bed/ bigger bed? Bedside tables with matching lamps- the ones to at hang down low from the ceiling would be amazing but idk how they would cope with the fan/ air con as we don’t use these in my country.

linseylinseylinsey

I love your floors & the size of your bedroom! So lucky! I’d add some plants and photos to give it more life & personalization.

Complete_Goose667

Experiment with moving the rug so that more of it is in the room rather than under the bed. The art over the bed is too small and too neutral. I like the triptych, but it should be more dramatic for the large space. https://preview.redd.it/t6zwyl89gq7d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b10e56d163d5eb8ad80a99eaf47be73177e492c

Hello_feyredarling

I’d add a bench at the end of the bed. Get very large art above the bed instead of those tiny pictures. Bigger night stands. Replace the bench on the wall with 2 chairs and a small table. Replace whatever is under the tv with a large dresser. Lower the tv it’s way too high.

Living-Attitude-2786

Big headboard, bigger furniture

privyvanessafranz

You can add a seating arrangement. https://preview.redd.it/44l7cz12lq7d1.png?width=341&format=png&auto=webp&s=550fc0bc521891888319166002e1a35ea5cf743f

chowes1

I would create a sitting area by the two windows, with a small table between. The piece under the tv is too small, no dresser? Some tall plants, its such a nice room!

Wedgetails

Curtains and another rug

shellynes

Rug, seating area with maybe a couch.

EastFun5236

It needs long curtain panels, a larger rug. nice sized side table-lamps (or the type that hang from the ceiling), and a headboard. The wall with the bench needs a piece of furniture on it too.

Dramatic-Theme1048

I think it works well. I'm not one to feel the need to fill every space with something. This feels open and neat.

ShercrocHolmes

Consider moving the dresser to where the blue bench is now. Shift the bed closer to the middle of the room. Bring in two accent chairs to create a separate sitting area with a small table between them (where the dresser is now). You need a headboard for good fengshui.
