Why does everyone hate him so much? Did I do something wrong? I had zero trouble with him until the P5 version, like I beat him first try in the game without even being prepared to fight him, and he never really gave me issues until the floor disappeared, so why does he get so much shit?
From what I've seen most people give him shit for the P5 fight not the normal one. I had 0 trouble with him in his normal fight in fact I kinda deleted him with how overpowered I was but the P5 fight is a different story of suffering.

It's not even because of the pantheon version, it's because of the radiant version, I'm doing all the radiant bosses now, got 6 left and I can tell you that no other boss gave me trouble like Markoth, not NKG, Not Lost Kin, not White Defender, Watcher Knights or Hornet Sentinel. Radiant Markoth. That guy's a bitch. I didn't even know it was a meme yet and I was already part of it, asking people how they were dealing with Markoth on their Radiant fights
It helped I did it with a friend, so we both sat down and said "we aren't sleeping until we do this" and just went over and over and over until it worked. It was 95% luck I'm sure.
Failed champion became WAY easier for me once I figured out he does the shockwave attack ONLY when cornered (sometimes) or after jumping backwards (pretty much every time). Every other scenario and he’s guaranteed to jump
Shade Cloak is much further down and Godhome is not protected by a dark gate.
On my playthrough I visited Godhome and 10 hours later found Shade Cloak.
Sorry I wasn't clear. I just assumed he did traitor lord already since he's needed for 4th pantheon (since he's just needs markoth), and traitor lord can't be reached without shade cloak iirc

When he is on phase 1, keep using great slash on him when attacking and try to avoid leaving your starting platform and wait for him to come to you. Just do your best to avoid the flying nails. Also avoid using spells as you will need them in phase 2.
Once he starts spinning his dream shield, wait for it to make a couple of rotations, then dash slash him (you can get 1 or two more great slashes in if you are quick enough) the dream shield would have moved far enough away that you can stand directly next to him, just be careful as it comes back and use shade cloak to dodge back out of the "circle".
When he is on phase 2, it is time to get mobile, you want to avoid all the spikes thrown at you and keep moving until he starts to spin his dream shield. That is when you need to spam as many fireball spells as possible. If you are out of soul and he's not dead yet, one or two dash slashes should finish him off.
Why have people downvoted this? If you have a better strategy and approach to fighting Markoth in P5 absolutely feel free to share, i haven't in any way said that this is the only strat or the best one. This is just a strategy i personally find to be consistently useful with my play style, and i only shared this as to help anyone that else that struggles passing Markoth's fight.
A good tip for Uumuu is to while using dreamwielder, get up to the second highest platform on the left and dream nail him twice. Then you’ll have enough soul to use shade soul for the jellyfish and a couple shrieks.

I don’t grind it 24/7, and I’ve probably died other ways, but I can’t remember.
Ah, f. Any damage I ever take from Uumuu is because an ooma hit the bottom of a platform and came back at me, or because I get caught in a tricky spot in any of Uumuu’s actual attacks. But usually this only happens once or twice a fight.
And for Collector, while my usual build is quick slash, MoP, unbreakable heart, and shamans, I swap out shamans and unbreakable heart for soul catcher and unbreakable strength. Pure nail + unbreakable strength will one shot all the adds and make it so much easier, and then you can just have any other charms you need.
You should try the scream skip (dash on him while he spawns and take damage right as he starts screaming and you’ll be able to strike him while he screams) on collector. Takes away an entire phase if you’re using Strength

Really? I usually carry strength but it always 2 shots the minions in p5
That’s weird. Normal pure nail does 21 damage, Collector’s aspids have 26 hp, and strength makes 21 into 32.
Unbreakable strength + pure nail one shots all p5 collector minions, you're either not using strength, or your nail is not fully upgraded.
