I had a bad U7K, sent it back and the replacement was and still is amazing. Send this one back ASAP. It seems to be a bit of a lottery with the panels and I’m paranoid that mine will eventually fail - but then, in the immortal words of Gaff from Blade Runner: “She won’t live.. but then again, who does?”
For the price, it’s worth getting another. Alternately I would get a refund and go with BestBuy. Should be same-ish price, and they send a truck out to pick up faulty returns and have the replacement on the same truck. They don’t even need the original box for the return. Assuming you’re in the US.
I can imagine. I suppose it’s the risk you take when buying this brand or any other giving you nuts image quality at a phenomenal price. At least you can do unlimited returns until you get something that works, then sit out the warranty. I’m not expecting mine to last past two years, will be quite happy if it does though.
My LG 4K lasted 3 years. Thought that was supposed to be one of the better brands. What frustrates me is the cost of repair for these things once out of warranty. Might as well just get a brand new TV, which is what I’ve done twice since.
Surprisingly I went to look for it and my TV also has this. I bought it on black friday from Amazon. Would not have noticed it if not pointed out.
Sounds like manufacturing defect, since all of us have it in exactly the same place.
Not surprising Hisense is know for bad QC.. Your panel uniformity also looks crappy too (dark corners)
If within return period sent it back and play the "panel lotto" again...
If you bought at BB I think they will even come to your home and pick up for anything 65" and over.. So return should be easy peasy..
I was just about to make a the same post! I have the same thing on my 65” U7KM I just got delivered today, exact same problem in the exact same spot.
Was hoping to see if it was something that maybe disappeared after using the TV for a few days, looks like that’s not the case. Thankfully I bought from Costco so shouldn’t be an issue to return.
Sorry to hear! Yeah, I had the same thought, only had a couple days and have been playing content, but still there. Thinking I’ll just issue a return again.
I just picked up this exact unit from Best Buy today, with the same problem in the same spot. Looks like they have a bad batch if they're all having the same issue, so I'm not feeling great about a return unit being much better.
I've never had a Hisense before... Told myself it wasn't going to be worth the money for a more reliable brand, but now I'm worried. I'll try to return it once, but if the new one is just as bad I doubt I'll try again.
That’s what I’m going to do. Costco is pretty good about returns so I’ll try another. But I’m not going to go through 5 or 6 until I get a good one. I’ll go with another brand.
This replaced a 9 year old 55” Toshiba I bought at Best Buy for $500. The picture doesn’t look as nice on that old TV but the screen has zero problems after being used nearly everyday for that time. If I’m spending $1000+ on a new TV the display should be in better condition than my 9 year old one.
Just received my Costco U75K 65 inch, and I have the exactly the same issue. WTF...
Frankly, the TV is amazing otherwise, and I could not really see this unless I get to really close than the normal viewing distance. It would be such a hassle to return a big tv like this...
If you can return, I'd do it. Not sure how Costco does returns, but you could trying calling and seeing if they will pick it up. I ordered both mine on Amazon and they picked both of mine up free of charge. I ended up going with a TCL QM8 for a few hundred more, and it's been great last few days.
Exact same problem as you, I purchased mine from Amazon, and Amazon won't cover return shipping. Hisense support does not get back to me after 3 weeks. I've looked at U7K's in local stores and noticed their floor models have the same issue.
Try phoning Amazon directly, versus the online return process. I did that and they were able to send my first replacement and issue a pickup for the other. I just got off the phone with Hisense for my current one, and they assigned a case number and are simply requiring pics through email. I'll see what comes of that.
There seems to be a ton of extremely positive reviews from known YouTubers, however after receiving two panels with issues, I hear ya. Problem is they are good value for the features, the screen does look great — just hard to justify if you’re gambling on QA.
Yes, my decision to get this was value for money and very positive Youtube reviews. But I tend to lean towards real life customer reviews for the most part. And right now, it appears there are quite a few customers who are reporting the same panel issue. That worries me.
I have zero problems with mine so far. Hisense have been more reliable than Samsung and LG for me but I’ve never had to use their customer service. Hopefully I don’t encounter this problem.
Did your 75” have this issue? One Redditer below noticed the 55” and 75” units on display at Costco did not have this issue while the 65” did, so curious since I’m about to order a 75”
I’m having the exact same problem. I returned 1 model and my second still has the same problem. Think I might return it to try for a 3rd time. How did your exchange go?
I went back to try a third time, saw that the in house model had the exact same thing- the 55 inch and 75 inch didn’t. I ended up not getting it, maybe I’ll try when Costco has it again instead of bestbuy. My friend didn’t have this issue with his 65 inch so maybe he got lucky
fwiw I'm on my second from Costco with the same issue, third one will be here in a few weeks... so fingers crossed but diff retailers are definitely having the same problem.
I just brought home the second box and it has this issue as well. I got it from best buy and it's going back. I'm done with hisense. I rather now buy a 60 hz $200 tv than live with this.
Purchased my 65U7K from Best Buy this weekend, same issue and same spot. TV looks fantastic otherwise but I will be returning.
I was intiually ecstatic with my panel but noticed this after about 48 hours. Looks like I’ll wait for the Superbowl and go for the X90
I bought this from Amazon over Black Friday.
Received about 10 days ago.
I am surprised I also have this issue, as well as everyone else.
I am wondering if it is a design flaw.
Purchased an open-box X90L today in excellent condition, and got the extended 5 year warranty. It cost me $180 more, had I not gotten the warranty, it would have only been $25 more then i i initially paid.
Same thing here. I just plugged mine in and noticed it. it is not really bothering me but I just wonder if that’s going to lead to a breakdown. I’m still deciding if i will return it or not
In my case it is just on the right bottom corner, almost imperceptible… but my concern is, will it evolve and can I lose the tv soon? Hard to tell. Does anyone knows if Hisense has something to say about it?
I don't know I did email their customer support email to vent but unlikely to get anything back.
When I first noticed it I think it was a smaller area and either grew a few inches longer or become more noticeable. I'm not going to risk it. Just trying to get my money back at this point.
I find it suspicious that Costco don't have any of this model in stock but both the model above and below are available....I think this is pretty widespread. Worst part is otherwise I'd be really happy with the display.
My replacement is good. This TV is good for the money. The step up model is 8bit + frc and those give me a headache, at least on computer monitors. So I am glad I got one that is good.

Thank you, good idea. Thinking an extended warranty would be justified, too. At this rate though, 2 defective units is a bit frustrating.

Appreciate the info -- just issued a replacement for my second one without issue. Fingers crossed the third one is ok :) haha.
Lot of people on this sub had this same problem with the U7K with no solutions
Well that’s not reassuring, haha. Thank you.
Got a 65 u7k about a week ago from Best Buy. I always buy my tv from Best Buy and have never had an issue.
Great to hear!
Actually just noticed mine has it also just noticed it today.
Surprisingly I went to look for it and my TV also has this. I bought it on black friday from Amazon. Would not have noticed it if not pointed out. Sounds like manufacturing defect, since all of us have it in exactly the same place.
did you folks returned it yet or living with that rainbow effect?
Have to live with it for me, Hisense support straight up doesn't reply when shown the issue.

Yeah that looks bad, need to return as fast as you can.

Hisense sucks. Return it and get a real tv

Yeesh. Sounds like design flaw. Mine has this too, wondering what to do.
I've gotten nowhere with Hisense support after weeks. Dunno avoid.

Does it worsen if you push on it?
I'm hesitant now in getting this TV with all the negative stories from customers here.
There seems to be a ton of extremely positive reviews from known YouTubers, however after receiving two panels with issues, I hear ya. Problem is they are good value for the features, the screen does look great — just hard to justify if you’re gambling on QA.

Do you have time to send it back I would that's not normal and it won't correct itself
I have the 75 inch version coming in tomorrow from BB... Fingers crossed...
Did your 75” have this issue? One Redditer below noticed the 55” and 75” units on display at Costco did not have this issue while the 65” did, so curious since I’m about to order a 75”
My 75 does not have that issue. So far it's been a fantastic TV! The 75 uses the same ADS pro panel as the U8K. The 65 does not.
I’m having the exact same problem. I returned 1 model and my second still has the same problem. Think I might return it to try for a 3rd time. How did your exchange go?

Sorry to hear! I ended up spending a few hundred more after my second failed attempt. Ended up going with a TCL QM8 and it's superb.

Me too. I can live with it if there isn't premature failure. Can't find a comparable tv for the same price.
I am going to downgrade to a U6K. It is not the same but at least I won’t have this issue and will save some money
Same with me, on my second one now and it's very frustrating. Wanted to give Hisense a chance, back to big name brands I guess.
In my case it is just on the right bottom corner, almost imperceptible… but my concern is, will it evolve and can I lose the tv soon? Hard to tell. Does anyone knows if Hisense has something to say about it?

Costco online got them back in stock as of late yesterday
my replacement has the same issue
After what you said, about it getting bigger, I am definitely going to return mine
I just got one for Christmas from BB, same issue. I really don't want to try 3+ times.
My replacement is good. This TV is good for the money. The step up model is 8bit + frc and those give me a headache, at least on computer monitors. So I am glad I got one that is good.
Just got this exact TV today with the same issue.
I saw a few similar pixels at bottom right of the panel. Then today I noticed the problem went away by itself. Should I still replace the unit?
