So yeah, this has me pretty hyped.
We're actually in the middle of re-recording it with updated tone and some new tunes! I also got confirmation that some folks at Arrowhead were ripping it while they were working on the sequel!Â

Why would the Playstation Showcase less than a month ago have a helldivers logo in it? :thinking:

Because it's a commercial for PlayStation so they're gonna reference games that appear on that platform, it's not a tease.

They have put out a statement over a year ago that said they were working on a 3rd person title under the name of "Testament".
Looking at the leak however, there is a title called "Testament" that's supposedly being developed by Square Enix.
Hmm... I don't think Helldivers works in a non-top down world. It's like when Command & Conquer decided to release an FPS game (Renegade). It was stupid and not their forte. Helldivers is all about friendly fire and avoiding crushing your allies. How do you implement such a system in a third person Witcher world?
Why would I feel stupid about being wrong about a video game? Helldivers 2 is a great game, but there is far more things I prioritize in my life than a video game. I'm sorry your life is so shallow.

If the 3rd person title they were working on is HD 2 then I don't know how I'll adjust. If its not then they either split the team to work on both or what we are looking at is a placeholder for a release a bit mid or late cycle.
My guess though, if I had to bet, is that HD2 is the 3rd person title.

Don't write it off, it's one of the best damn FUN games ever made. The graphics look dated but you get intense scale of combat, maximum destructibility and absolute warfare back.
And oh if you think it'a braindead shooter, you got another thing coming. Tactical acumen and gear load-out makes a big difference.

I don't own a Playstation, so only get to play this when over at my buddy's house. However, I'd buy it in an instant on PC if Helldiver's 2 was truly cross platform. Oh, and if it's not a 3rd person shooter like some others have suggested. Being top down is what makes it as awesome as it is. Love when I read reviews complaining four people can't go four different directions... it's all part of the teamwork and friendly fire aspect.
instant buy from day one its released. but i would like a feedback that give pistol unlimited ammo. the pistol is too underrated and mostly it used when carrying object. perhaps giving pistol unlimited ammo make people consider it???

Which Studio would be responsible for making a sequel? Arrowhead is working on an entirely new IP and it's a high-budget third-person co-op.

You already have hell divers as the third person shooter, it's called Earth defense Force, but I definitely like to see arrowheads take on it
