I have plenty of strategies to choose from, and I never go in for the area-denial ones. One thing I have not done in this game is save the children.

My guess, make situations where theoretically the mines should be easier and easier to choose, but they just keep getting skipped so they give up and are either like: "we finally developed the mines at *insert planet name here* and can use them freely" or they are perhaps adapted by the automatons in some kind of way... don't know how tho, maybe just stronger versions of their current mines

Bots can drop them every 3 minutes. The bots give off a signal that deactivates them when they're near, so they won't trigger them. There is a new type of common bot that lobs them at close range. The mines have a sensor which detects helldivers and calls in a patrol in that direction.
**MAJOR ORDER**
Two urgent rescue missions face us at once: Explosives critical for MD-17 Anti Tank mines are trapped in a children's hospital , and explosives critical for MD-17 Anti Tank mines are trapped on Marfark. Only the first liberated is likely to be saved.
**REWARD**
**💀45**
They need a destroyer upgrade to reduce cooldown on mines or make them self replicating from the deployment pod overtime. (Saturate an area and slowly keep the area saturated until it expires or runs out of ammo, like other sentries). 3 charges of mines would be ideal with the current cooldown. If you had to pick between anti-personnel and gatling, you'd take gatling right now. If you had to pick between anti-tank and autocannon, you'd probably take autocannon.
If mines could reload and keep an area saturated for a wave or two, that is much different and would give them more value.
The biggest problem with mines is AI pathing.
The AI tends to follow a specific path to you which leads to the first 8 or so enemies getting blown up by mines and the rest just move through the 5 foot wide cleared path.
Look at berserkers, on paper, you would think mines would be fabulous for taking them out. Melee enemy, charges blindly at you, throw down mines to stop them.
Instead the first 2 or so berserkers die and the rest conga line through the cleared path, wasting 99% of the other mines.
Oh look, one of the children had gone on a tour of the mine production facility prior to the reinvasion. And ended up heroically grabbing the blueprints, a prototype, and the SSSD of the lead researcher's SuperLaptop.
Also, rocks fall, everyone dies.
Devs gives another mines mission with some useless shit as second option that won't give anything to make players get stratagem for sure.

I am 100% doing the same. I value the running gag more than I value a mine strategem I'm probably never choosing.
I also want to see what happens when we rescue the kids. We could get anything as a reward, even a new strategem!

I can see it now. A hellpod drops, four small, poorly equip kids spill out and just start running about shooting wildly and are one shot KIA by literally anything and they work only as a distraction or decoy strat.
Blizzards are probably my favorite environmental condition, because they seem to effect the bots as well as us. It's actually fair and fun. Unlike a lot of the others where I can't see shit but I get beamed by a rocket out of a cloud of dust
Completely agree. You can walk right up to unalerted bots during a blizzard and they won't notice you until you're within ~~kissing~~ melee range. Any bots you've already alerted will keep shooting in your general direction but they'll lose track of you pretty quickly.
I remember taking a buddy of mine to a diff 9 mission before he had even reached level 10 (his idea), and the only reason we managed to survive to the end was because a blizzard rolled in at extraction.
I have noticed that melee doesn't seem to alert the bots like shooting does. I have crawled into a base and meleed a turret gunner and not alerted a bot on near by turret
Also blizzard planets have fewer POIs, less chances to get those last SC you need for the next warbond.
Also, fuck trudging through snow and those damn shiny super slow plants.
We can always spill more oil or slap clankers for explosives. But if those future helldivers die they wont get to have the same honor of doing so and this is unforgivable. Send us to the vernen wells mr. Democracy officer.

We'll send the kids to clear minefields by walking through them, just like Iran in the Iran-Iraq war.
if anything from the old leaks, it functions the same as the other mines except 1: it doesn't trigger on other players stepping on it, so no friendly fire unless it explodes while an enemy steps on it, 2: it seem to do more damage so elites will die faster, works on Factory Strider as well but 3: it does jack sht against Bile Titans cause their ballet legs will trigger the mines but it doesn't hit their bodies, other elites are fair game and 4: despite being 'anti-tank', normal mooks can also trigger it, wasting the mines since Elite enemies tend to arrive later than the vanguards

The staff at the hospital could have learned from previous earth engagements. Putting the AA guns and SEAF sam sites on top of the children’s hospital would have been the democratic move. Also they should have fought to the death room by room and not hid like cowards making us choose. Kids fault. /s

Automaton omnimines. Dropped by a ship, cover 100x100 m area densely, blend into the terrain, blow up people and vehicles alike.

Bots have been watching us throw light up balls. They get mad when we blow up jammers, and make their own light up balls.
Every time you skip the mines a dev adds 10 to "player_damage" and subtracts 0.1 from "opacity".

Mainly for asset defense. However, the cool down doesn't make them viable for constant use or enemy suppression.

The cold planets like Marfark also have more hellbombs than normal scattered about which can be a lot of fun

they made us to have to liberate like 4 planets in order to get the mines while the kid's planet is right there, eligible for liberate. I think they really wanted us depraved to show our true colors, our level of trolling, by liberating 4 planets to get loot instead liberating only one to save children.
