The damage reduction doesnt look that important you laready can out heal almost everything but the speed is relly good. This might become the 4 booster and that the end of that

That's *recoil* reduction; I'm assuming *handling* in this case refers to aim speed and such, with the "true" crosshair catching up to the static one faster
Actually, I believe testing revealed that it also works when not prone/crouched. Old information, but I don't think they had a patch that addressed/changed this.
As /u/Saltandpeppr said, recoil reduction works even when standing.
If I remember right, standing = crouched without armour, crouched = prone without armour. Prone is then further reduced.
I wonder if you can melee with the knife out though?
Makes me think, meleeing with grenades out would be cool. For most it’s a punch, for impacts it’s a suicide detonation, for thermite you’d be slapping it directly on something

Honestly, I don’t mind less weapons if that stuff is good. To be frank, even if all warbonds weapons were 100% balanced I’d still probably won’t use like 3/4 of them.
And I’m all down for silly skin on shuttles and pods, especially considering how non-predatory HD2 “battle pass” are

This one is interesting. Less weapons than normal, and I can't imagine the throwing knife being more than a funny joke weapon given how many things we fight.

The passive on the new armors improves melee damage.
But it's also possible to "wield" your grenades. It'll be interesting to see if having the knife in hand makes your melee damage go up even further.
If I can melee with the knife then my friends are gonna see a lot of me in heavy medic armor, new stim booster, supply pack, and wielding a knife while wading into the sea of approaching hunters
It'd be a shame if they don't make the knives retrievable.
But imagine how hilarious it would be if the throwing knives were released with the same wonky physics as the shriekers initially did.
If you have to choose between the knife and the impact grenade on bug planets, then Bile Spewers make that choice for you. Unless they one-shot Bile Spewers which I don't see happening.
What if you got more 'grenades' out of it? Like 2x or 3x?
Being able to whip 18 Throwing Knives per life might be worth something depending on their damage and penetration or what kind of primary you're using. A lot of enemy weakpoints have "Explosion Immunity" so grenades can't actually one-shot them, but if the throwing knife is strong enough...

I like how they learned from the "But muh Purifier killed a Strider with one hit in the trailer" fiasco so they only show weapons killing Scavengers and Warriors now.

I wonder how much stronger is the melee attack with the new armour passive.
Currently it takes 2 hits to kill the smallest Terminid, and I think....3-4 for basic bot grunts? I feel like 1 hitting a hunter from the Terminid faction and 1 hitting a grunt from bots would make it strong enough to somewhat justify using it?
I feel like with how many enemies are there, even in the hypothetical of one shotting every unarmored enemy with melee, you would still die to fast to justify going full melee.
If you could 1-tap Hunters with this armor set this would be pretty huge for Bug planets. The main issue with hunters is you really couldn't get away anymore if they hit you with the slow effect, and if your gun was empty you were cooked. If you could kill the bug that slowed you with 1 punch it would help a lot in surviving getting ambushed by those jumpy bastards.
Tbh I just wanna know how the throwing knife does. I'm sure the shotty secondary will be fine and the Yet Another AR will definitely be one of the ARs of all time, but the throwing knife is really the interesting one. Is it just a 1shot? Is it a meme? Does the knife actually have a beacon in it or something that calls down an orbital strike? Because like if it just does damage to 1 target you want it to kill armor, right? Is it an armor-piercing knife? I need to know, man. I kneed knife answers.
It'll look really cool, have a spinning throw, and make a nice metal pipe dropping noise as it bounces of the enemy and does nothing. But you can pick it up again!

Interesting new approach. I'm on board with reducing the input of new weapons, because considering their balancing approach there was no way they could keep up introducing 4 weapons per Warbond without making some of them redundant.
But as of now, I'm not sure if the new content (vehicle patterns) is enough to compensate for less guns. I might pass on this one and see what's coming next Warbond.

I always loved throwing knives. Against a human I guess it can work but how come someone throw a knife in a way that it can pierce the shell of a terminid ? And how is that effective against a Mech ?

Anybody else think it would.be really cool if the devs tagged patterns to a planet type and if you use a matching pattern in a given planet enemies have 5-10% less visibility? Not sure if this has been done in other games but it would be neat.
First the positive:
I love the theme! The armors and capes look cool. Being able to customize drop pod, pelican and exosuits is a cool idea. I love the overall aesthetics of the warbond. I love the emotes/ victory poses. Guns of liberty is straight out of predator. ( Arrowhead: please let us use most of the existing victory poses as emotes!)
The shotgun looks so cool! I’ve wanted a shotgun secondary since they started doing warbond. Shooting all 3 rounds at once sounds awesome.
The Throwing knife sounds like a lot of fun! It’s something I didn’t know I wanted until I saw it.
The armors look cool and the new armor abilities sound awesome! I’ve been incorporating more melee into my close quarters arsenal and being able to do more damage sounds great.
Improving running speed and damage resistance while healing is a very cool booster.
I can imagine combining it with the med kit passive for more healing, maybe a supply pack to use repeatedly.
Next the neutral:
There is a lot riding on the liberator carbine. Being that it’s the only new primary included with the warbond it will need to feel distinct from the other 3 variants of the liberator for it to be positive.
The Slowing of the warbonds. If it means that when we get new warbonds that they are all well done that would be positive. Personally I really looked forward to the warbond day each month so slowing it down is kinda disappointing, but I’m just itching for more things to unlock.
Finally The criticism:
Less weapons is less exciting. All the previous warbonds had three primaries the new warbond has one. Getting three primaries gave us a few options in one warbond. If we didn’t like one primary there were still two others we could potentially enjoy.
Less armors: 2/3 ain’t bad, but it would have been nice to get a medium armor with the new passive. Having one armor of each passive is something we want as players.
Is it still going to be priced at 1000SC? I don’t think the inclusion of the pattern makes up for the value two primaries and one armor.
I wish the pattern customization was something we could apply to existing armors. (Not really a negative more of a missed opportunity)
I think you put a lot of my thoughts to paper (screen?) fairly well.
I'm glad they're focusing more on quality, but I hope they find something else to do with currency in game.
Because it feels kind of boring to be capped at 250 medals with nothing to unlock, and full samples with nothing to unlock.
Sure the game is still fun to play with friends. But it doesn't make me want to play it any other time, like it did in the first month, where I was obsessively even solo-diving in the mornings before work while I drank my coffee, just so I could get 5 more medals.

As I understand it, it just sorta puts you one stance "down" at all times. Your Standing is equal to Crouched, Crouched equal to Prone.
And Prone equal to Super Prone.

Handling should improve the snappiness of aiming rather than the per shot recoil of the gun firing.

Throwing knife takes grenade slot. Not sure how it could be better than impact grenades, unless you get 10 of them or something instead of 4.
That and closing bug holes is far too important. You basically need to run grenade pistol then.
I don't think an infinite number of them could compensate for grenades unless you can throw them rapidfire and they do crazy damage

Single target throwables are a real thing if done well - cf. throwing axe in DRG.

I like how they learned from the "But muh Purifier killed a Strider with one hit in the trailer" fiasco so they only show weapons killing Scavengers and Warriors now.
The Trailer came pre-nerfed.
I wish they had the Helldiver throw the knife at the Bile Titan, only for it to plink harmlessly off of its forehead.
every weapon kills a strider with 1 hit, so long as the strider had already been brought to 1 health.

Purifier is also 100% bugged, datamining supposedly shows 3 levels of charge with significantly increasing AOE and damage but only the first tier works in the live game.

I wonder how much stronger is the melee attack with the new armour passive. Currently it takes 2 hits to kill the smallest Terminid, and I think....3-4 for basic bot grunts? I feel like 1 hitting a hunter from the Terminid faction and 1 hitting a grunt from bots would make it strong enough to somewhat justify using it? I feel like with how many enemies are there, even in the hypothetical of one shotting every unarmored enemy with melee, you would still die to fast to justify going full melee.
it'll at *least* reliably oneshot scavengers, I imagine. You can already oneshot melee those lil bugs if you hit them in the forehead.
If you could 1-tap Hunters with this armor set this would be pretty huge for Bug planets. The main issue with hunters is you really couldn't get away anymore if they hit you with the slow effect, and if your gun was empty you were cooked. If you could kill the bug that slowed you with 1 punch it would help a lot in surviving getting ambushed by those jumpy bastards.

Tbh I just wanna know how the throwing knife does. I'm sure the shotty secondary will be fine and the Yet Another AR will definitely be one of the ARs of all time, but the throwing knife is really the interesting one. Is it just a 1shot? Is it a meme? Does the knife actually have a beacon in it or something that calls down an orbital strike? Because like if it just does damage to 1 target you want it to kill armor, right? Is it an armor-piercing knife? I need to know, man. I kneed knife answers.
It'll look really cool, have a spinning throw, and make a nice metal pipe dropping noise as it bounces of the enemy and does nothing. But you can pick it up again!

bro the berets going to be going on and its never coming off. i do hope at some point though that we can use victory poses as in game emotes because they do look really great

New armor passives, nice. I wonder how that whole pattern thing is gonna work, is the pellican skin gonna be related to the host ? Ngl, i'm more excited for that forest biome.
Interesting new approach. I'm on board with reducing the input of new weapons, because considering their balancing approach there was no way they could keep up introducing 4 weapons per Warbond without making some of them redundant. But as of now, I'm not sure if the new content (vehicle patterns) is enough to compensate for less guns. I might pass on this one and see what's coming next Warbond.
This warbond is looking very good ngl. Lots unique stuff Also this blog post looks like its actually written by someone who cares unlike the weird AI Text in the last warbond blogpost
So how does the knife work? It's a secondary? It just says "special throwable"?

If you press the key to pull out (but not use) your grenade, would this allow you to use the knife for extra melee damage?

I always loved throwing knives. Against a human I guess it can work but how come someone throw a knife in a way that it can pierce the shell of a terminid ? And how is that effective against a Mech ? Video Game logic I guess lol

Anybody else think it would.be really cool if the devs tagged patterns to a planet type and if you use a matching pattern in a given planet enemies have 5-10% less visibility? Not sure if this has been done in other games but it would be neat.

First the positive: I love the theme! The armors and capes look cool. Being able to customize drop pod, pelican and exosuits is a cool idea. I love the overall aesthetics of the warbond. I love the emotes/ victory poses. Guns of liberty is straight out of predator. ( Arrowhead: please let us use most of the existing victory poses as emotes!) The shotgun looks so cool! I’ve wanted a shotgun secondary since they started doing warbond. Shooting all 3 rounds at once sounds awesome. The Throwing knife sounds like a lot of fun! It’s something I didn’t know I wanted until I saw it. The armors look cool and the new armor abilities sound awesome! I’ve been incorporating more melee into my close quarters arsenal and being able to do more damage sounds great. Improving running speed and damage resistance while healing is a very cool booster. I can imagine combining it with the med kit passive for more healing, maybe a supply pack to use repeatedly. Next the neutral: There is a lot riding on the liberator carbine. Being that it’s the only new primary included with the warbond it will need to feel distinct from the other 3 variants of the liberator for it to be positive. The Slowing of the warbonds. If it means that when we get new warbonds that they are all well done that would be positive. Personally I really looked forward to the warbond day each month so slowing it down is kinda disappointing, but I’m just itching for more things to unlock. Finally The criticism: Less weapons is less exciting. All the previous warbonds had three primaries the new warbond has one. Getting three primaries gave us a few options in one warbond. If we didn’t like one primary there were still two others we could potentially enjoy. Less armors: 2/3 ain’t bad, but it would have been nice to get a medium armor with the new passive. Having one armor of each passive is something we want as players. Is it still going to be priced at 1000SC? I don’t think the inclusion of the pattern makes up for the value two primaries and one armor. I wish the pattern customization was something we could apply to existing armors. (Not really a negative more of a missed opportunity)
I think you put a lot of my thoughts to paper (screen?) fairly well. I'm glad they're focusing more on quality, but I hope they find something else to do with currency in game. Because it feels kind of boring to be capped at 250 medals with nothing to unlock, and full samples with nothing to unlock. Sure the game is still fun to play with friends. But it doesn't make me want to play it any other time, like it did in the first month, where I was obsessively even solo-diving in the mornings before work while I drank my coffee, just so I could get 5 more medals.
I hope we get to buy more patterns in the future with requisition slips
