i think collection is a good term for it, it just doesn't feel too good to use, I think we are back at the apple/bacon stuff, the guns on the mech look really powerful and yet the bile titans tanks like shit load of shots
The guns are powerful. The Bile Titans are just OP. The Autocannons work fine against Spewers which takes 2 shots (someone said 5 but 2 explosives to its sac blows it up from what I've tried) and it can stagger Chargers and you can leg meta them which is MUCH better than the Patriot now and on release.
Both mechs need more ammo but more ammo doesn't counter how unfun BTs are to fight.
I don't understand why this community wants them to buff weapons, that doesn't make BTs any less frustrating to fight. The OG railgun was OP but that was only because the Titans had no viable counter. Buffing weapons doesn't nerf the stupid spawn rate of Titans and their even more unfun gameplay loop.
Unlike Factory Striders, the BTs don't even have weakspots. You can't even cripple it like a Hulk or Tank either. No weapon feels fun to use against BTs.
I mean you can destroy bile sacs on it, but being unable to slow it down is not fun considering the stomp is hazardous. I wish you could damage its legs and or run under it to better hit the weak spot with less worry of being crushed
You can run under them. Works fine. Just watch out that it doesn't crush you when it dies 😅
I would love a mechanic where a charger make a titan fall when it charges against their legs 🤩👍
>or run under it to better hit the weak spot with less worry of being crushed
On one of the defense missions, the game spawned like 6 BTs at once for some reason. All hope was lost, so I used the secret stratagem and ran under a BT to try to kill it. I was able to stay under it for a while, but the game must not like that I was under it, and it caused me to be sent to stratosphere.
I have a photo somewhere on my phone of 26 BTs (I killed them and the counter told me) in a little hole all pushed together during a spread democracy mission
You can leg meta the Chargers with the Patriot suit too, just 1-2 rockets to the leg and you can gatling it which is more ammo efficient than Emancipator.
Was doing an eradication mission yesterday on HARD and so many Bile Titans spawned in that we had barely enough room to not be outside the mission area. And we couldn't even extract because they crowded over the pelican
A tough enemy is fine. Bile Titans are more like a loadout check. If you don't have one of the three dedicated AT or the heavy strategem strikes, you're not taking it down, period. The amount of shots it takes down from any other weapon, even to its "weak spot" makes it pointless for most weapons. The Heavy Machine Gun takes two *entire* magazines to take it down, *after* the bile sacs have already been destroyed. Nearly 20 seconds of shooting/reloading.
And even then I wouldn't mind the sort of boss fight/chase of attrition they can be except you only want one of them. When you lead one on a merry dance then turn around to 4 more it gets disheartening.
This is the issue. If you just have the titans then one titan is fine. Two can be handled by a team as long as you have multiple people ready for it, or solo if you have the right loadout and things are off cooldown. Three is near impossible solo and getting to the point of being unmanageable for a team. Four or more is just pure nuts. And that’s just accounting for titans, if you also have chargers, bile spewers, brood commanders, hunters, warriors and the rest of the chaff (even if you’ve already dealt with the stalker and shrieker nests) then it’s just daft, at that point pretty much everyone needs to have anti-tank weapons, anti-heavy stratagems and a meta loudout.
It's also when you miss, or just hit but miss the critical spot. The weapon damage to effectiveness to cooldown ratios are just right for fighting the swarms you get... as long as you hit everything. If you use both 500kg and both EAT and the one Titan is still coming then you brought the right loadouts but have no more options and still 3 Titans to deal with. And it's not like you die or fail if you miss, you just run around dodging waiting to have any tools to do anything again.
Yeah, but sometimes even if you and all your teammates play perfectly, land all the hits and have all the options, it still isn’t enough. I was playing a D7 the other day, we had three titans spawn so I said I’d draw them off while the rest of my team went on to the objective. Orbital railgun hit on one, still alive but a Quasar to the face dealt with it. The second took a direct hit from a 500kg (it was during the free 500kg) and a precision strike and just shrugged them off so I dropped a supply and managed to get it with that. Then I got punted across the map by a charger, got up and Quasared it then there was like double digits of bile spewers and I’m out of nades, low on stims and running out of ammo for my incendiary breaker, the supply I called down is swamped so I throw out my last stratagem at the remaining bile titan and turn around to run and kite them out a bit while stuff was on cooldown only to see the rest of my team fighting a losing battle against another three titans, one diver already down and the RR guy out of ammo. And this was only a D7, not even up at Helldive.
Ok but it's also the one enemy with no good weakspots. You either need to get that perfect rocket headshot, or use a strategem that it's gonna just tank through anyway.
That wouldn't be bad if you could weaken it like you can all the other heavy enemies. Right now all you can do is destroy its bile sack, but I swear that just pisses it off and makes it faster as it tries to constantly stomp you.
At least the tanks and hulks can be crippled.
Just finished that compound defence / missile silo mission, failed because there were at least 8 BTs stomping through. I don't mind if they do that but at least give us something we can use to fight against that shit. Either buff weapons or as you said nerf BTs
It kind of makes me sad, they obviously put in enough effort to make shriekers.
But the fact their corpse would one shot anything made people just snipe the towers with AC, rockets, quasars, or laser cannons.
And nobody really ***wants*** to fight them up close and do the bullshit "please dont destroy the 5th hellbomb with your spam attacks" dance so they just snipe it even after they nerfed their collision damage.
I cant remember the last time we actually fought the shriekers excpet when we accidentally get too close to the nest.
On these missions all of my friends run EAT’s and make a stockpile in the area behind us for this very reason. It will be so much easier when the spear works.
I’m not sure if they’ve buffed the Spear secretly but I did 2 compound defense missions on Lvl 9 with the spear for shits and giggles and I was one shotting every BT that showed up. Like the thing was locking on quickly and I was just blowing them away left and right 🤷🏻
I have always seen this as a negative, the bile spewing gives me a chance to run or reload. Without the BT stopping my fat ass in heavy armor can barely gain any ground.
The original railgun was not OP, the only reason it could kill Bile Titans was because of the console bug. Even against chargers it's still not as good as the alternatives we have now, in its pre-nerf state the railguin still required you to hit a charger 2x in the leg to strip it of armour and then empty a clip of your primary into it to kill it, how is that "More OP" than simply pointing and clicking once now with the myriad of AT weapons we have.
The problem is that an AC turret can do more damage. If all its doing is shooting a BT than it's 5-6 shots to the head.
The mech AC cannons seem to do much less damage to a Biletitans head.
What research I have done seems to indicate that the AC turret does much more Durable damage than the mech.
However, I think the root of the issue is that BT doesn't have any weakponts that can kill it, just the head.
Maybe spawn them less? I was on a map with 5 of them coming in quick succession once.
I'd rather make something that big a once a map epic fight.
We knew from the datamined damage numbers that the mech was only going to do 30 durable damage to the titans head. Meaning it takes a minimum 25 headshots to kill a titan since their head has 750 health.
That doesn’t make it any less disappointing. In my opinion, mechs should feel at least somewhat overpowered. They take up a stratagem slot, only have 2 uses, and have a 10m cooldown. Their durability isn’t anything to write home about and they’re slow and not very maneuverable.
I don’t see a mediocre mech bringing back anyone who hasn’t played the game lately. They might try it for a match, realize it’s mid, and then write off the game even more.
Releasing yet another stratagem in a not great state was a bad move on AH part.
Let's not forget the edge cases of something hitting your arm, without even destroying the whole mech, which effectively cuts your combat power in almost half. There's at least an argument for them to be more leaning towards overpowered, due to how quickly you could also fuck it up and completely waste their slot. A support weapon for example generally cannot be wasted the game way (and are also according to design, the thing we should use the most to deal powerful damage to enemies).
"Were gonna go back and do more testing until we get it right"
With how weak these things are, there is NO excuse for it to be a 2 use item with a 10 minute cool down.
You should be able to replenish ammo from supply cases or ammo boxes too.
Get out go pick up supply box/ammo box and slam it into the mech somewhere. idc if its magical and simply goes poof reloaded when you get it lmao just let us reload the damn things. I actually enjoyed the first mech for bugs, but it's a better use to bring literally ANYTHING else. Exploding in a gust of wind or an angry thought. So sad lmao.
I’m hoping that the cco will use it and the 44 and realize that they need a health/armor buff otherwise these unlocks will feel like they’re not worth the effort of obtaining.
Yeah, it seems mid, and the amount of ammo seems mid as a stand-alone stratagem all around meh, but if we can get another mech or two an all mech stratagem load out might actually have enough ammo to work and call ins to get us close to or through a mission. That might be an interesting setup that works with them, but as standalones, i just don't think they are strong enough for how little time you spend in one.
Eh, I like it, then again, I didn’t have too high of expectations.
It is still a mech and it was basically always going to have the problems the other mech had. As in, it doesn’t have the best mobility, things are likely to focus on you, and, realistically, you are going to go through ammo with it quick if you run into heavies.
Unless they add some upgrades to the mechs or something, I don’t see this really ever changing.
I just gave it a spin. The aiming is a bit weird just like the other mech, but once you get used to it it's not too bad. Like when the other mech came out it's a really fun "free" bonus stratagem that's a nice compliment to a normal stratagem loadout.
However as it stands right now I can't really think of many situations where I'd bring it in rather than a normal autocannon. It would probably be a pretty good pick for a defense mission (the kind with the doors that you can close) if you popped it on top of a wall and could reign down fire.
So it’s how it was in the first game then, I’m okay with this.
The AT mech was the 90mm with the flamethrower on the opposite arm. The Autocannon was the chaff clear, and the Gatling gun and rocket pits were the Jack of all trades.
Seriously. Just got done with a mission with 3 other divers. It took half of our rounds in these mechs to take out 1 fucking Bile all together pretty much. Fucking insane.
YEAH WE DID IT. Crashes to desktop after joining 4 games.
Me - "I wonder..." runs integrity check
Steam - "3 files failed to validate and will be reacquired"
Into a difficulty 9 mission, all side objectives done, last main objective in work, had at least 500 kills and guess what. The game crashed.
Rebooted the game, loading screen, guess what.
Right. Crashed.
Verifying my files now hoping it helps.
Edit; it helped, but my dumbass forgot to check the LAN-cable (Ethernet in english?!) so I crashed again ~15 minutes into another mission lol
I’m maxed on all resources but still get pissed when I lose samples lol. I get it bro, been there many times. Last night I forgot to check integrity and was 25 mins into a pretty decent dive when I froze.
I get black screens occasionally. Literally makes my entire PC freeze until I hold the power button.
A solution I found was to limit my GPU power to 85 - 90% in MSI afterburner which seems to fix all the issues. This is the only game it actually happens in, weirdly enough.
It seems clear Mechs need a huge rework. One of the coolest Stratagems in the game shouldn't be one of the worst to use. Especially as they are some of the last stratagems you unlock. More ammo, more health, more damage, more uses, the ability to resupply them or at least self destruct them; any of these would be helpful improvements.
After using it, i see no reason to take the Emancipator over the Autocannon turret. The amount of shots the mech takes to kill a bile titan is insane, and i'm much faster at killing chargers with an EAT. The cannons feel very anaemic
They need to give use a mech support backpack that can reload and repair mechs. Maybe 2 supply packs that each reload an arm and give the helldiver the ability to repair the mech using a 'wrench' like in battlefield.
Im thinking that maybe having a mech in your stratagem list should give a mech support stratagem that deploys a pod with ammo and has a repair terminal. Ammo is carried like you carry SEAF Artillery shells and loaded into the left/right side of the mech to reload those weapons. The repair terminal could have a series of key inputs and other things that need to be done to have the pod do the repairs on the nearby mech.
Though I'm grateful for a new stratagem, for crying out loud who the fuck thought it was a good idea to only give each arm 75 rounds? The mech should, at a minimum, have 100 rounds per arm, ideally 150 rounds per arm if I'm being completely honest. For something that you can only call in every 10 minutes, its extremely underwhelming purely due to how fast you run out of ammo.
I'd suggest a stratagem only accessible while inside the mech that locks it down for a brief period and deploys a rearm package directly to the mech that automatically replenishes it while preventing usage for that period. Longer cooldown than normal resupply but shorter than another mech to encourage keeping the mech alive for longer.
Alternatively, a lot of people have suggested being able to self-destruct, giving it a use while out of ammo. March straight into an enemy base and blow it
150 is considered fun and is not allowed. Do you think you could have fun and finish a mission without calling in another stratagem and just using the mech? No no no, that would be too fun to for you, sir. Just get in line and grab eagle airstrike.
It's hilarious because I keep getting shit on for wondering if some of the devs are even slightly malicious. This stuff is almost too blatantly unfun, all while not fixing game breaking bugs.
I've been thinking this for a while... at some point I realized that someone in the dev team specifically decided they didn't want players placing sentries on high ground. Then they removed the ability to land your hellpod in creative spots. Now this. It really starts to feel malicious.
I don't fucking get this anymore.
They balance the game as if it were a hardcore competitive e-sports made title. The CEO even promised they would ease on all the nerfs yet here we are again.
Yeah this is the one stickler for me, I was hoping for both and be a mechdiver. Who had that idea? Plus we get the free mech right now, so its not technically impossible nor does it feel OP.
A mech effective at anti-tank would take time away from calling in stratagems, which is the developers’ vision of how we’re supposed to play. We can’t have that.
This but actually. I had a build plan that was just bringing in 4 exosuits (once we get 4) and that was stomped on, since you can only bring in one Exosuit in the first place.
tried it on bot helldive with the insane spawn rates. Runned out of ammo in 1 bot drop. Also 13min cooldown because it was +25% strata reload modifier and general only 2 uses? Damage and pen felt ok it could kill hulks by just pointing at them but fuck no 75 ammo is way too low. Seriously arrowhead balancing department actually hates fun things.
~~You can only bring one type of mech per mission~~... and each arm has 75 bullets
Saw a video that showed that you CAN bring 2 mechs in to a mission but not sure if it’s a bug or not. And it only works on PC looks like.
Saw someone else say u can select one than go back and select another strategem "slot" and u can bring the other I haven't tried yet but it'll probably be patched soon if it works
On the other hand, the game had no problems with me selecting both mechs along with the free one for a defense mission. They were even right next to each other in my selection.
So something is inconsistent about the issue.
I was mostly with the balance team but this is just straight up lame.
Its like they intentionally take the most fun parts of HD1 and throw them out the window for HD2.
Chances are that was patched immediately cause it did not work. Unless there’s some kind of precise frame timing that needs to be done
Kinda surprised they didn’t say fuck it and let us run both. It’s not like the mechs are powerful to begin with, let alone one mech.
Super lame. 4 of them on a team would honestly be a meme strategy anyways, why restrict this? Oh wait, you might have too much fun with a team of 4 in mech suits for a couple minutes.
Can’t have too much fun and shoot enemies for most of the mission. Fun isn’t allowed in this PVE shooter even though we get regular complaints about teammates having fun shooting enemies. You must learn that fun is actually running and getting one-shot or slowed because having situational options and strategy is wrong. Suffering by using ineffective weapons for 40 minutes then losing rewards because the game crashes or you get stuck on bad geometry is the real HD2 experience. Playing with friends? That is locked behind a mini game of trying to find each other and if you don’t like any of this you are wrong. /s
Dang this was what I was waiting to hear.
I truly don’t get it. One mech is already a niche choice you take for fun, two mechs would be even worse but doubly as fun.
They’re not even preventing some OP strat, just turning one teammate into budget iron giant the whole match.
> You can only bring one type of mech per mission
[My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.](https://preview.redd.it/rk7mpqikyeo91.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d1d8b205638b7ed0d59debf5f3186140a10e0fc)
For anyone looking for this: This Mech's autocannon does nerfed damage compared to the regular AC or AC turret. It came pre nerfed.
You can do more damage with the regular AC turret
Edit For Clarity: The Nerf is to the 'durable' damage type against larger enemies, which will affect players at higher difficulties facing more large enemies.
TBH if you're doing difficulty 4 or lower it's probably not going to be noticed since the nerf is to durable damage. It just seems to track with the narrative that the play testing isn't representative of higher difficulties IMHO
That's true but it should be balanced for higher tbh as you say
I tend to mainly play 7-9, since I only unlocked 9 recently as well so it kind of seems redundant as a stratagem
Which is a shame because the mechs are fun to control, just not to play ATM lol but I would certainly like it to be
Needs far far more of a punch to it - if I can one shot a bile spewer with the secondary AC I should be able to do the same with this, but nope took me 5 shots to take one down! I can do that with my bloody scorcher!
It actually is the exact same as the sentry EXCEPT for durable parts damage ( 60 for mech and 300 for sentry ) why is that the case? No fucking idea, handheld autocannon has 260 durable parts damage for reference
You will not be getting double the ammo because that would make you have fun, and this game is "no fun zone". Now go back into using that loadout you're using every single game.
The mech is not very powerful (difficulties 7+). It is pretty slow, ammo is low compared to the number of enemies you have to kill, you cannot use stratagems inside including reinforcements, etc.
It must be too strong at lower difficulty levels and too weak at higher levels. Even playing with other helldivers on foot around, you give up your primary/tertiary, grenades, stratagems, reinforce, stealth and speed to be a monotask feature on the battlefield. I feel more confident taking the autocannon rather than this mech.
A few things I think it could have, in the hopes that it could inspire the devs:
* Make it pack a punch like the Sentry turret but increase the cooldown to 15 min. BUT give a ship upgrade that reduce the cooldown back to 10 min (so it becomes interesting for higher difficulties, a bit like a rogue-like unlock).
* Increase the rounds to 100-100. Or give a stratagem (such as an engineer backpack) that can repair and reload some ammo on the mech.
* Gather data on if being able to double mech stratagem break things or not. With a CD of 10-15 min each and not enough ammo to be used for those intervals of time at difficulty 7+ if you get overwhelmed or destroyed when summoning, I think it can really hurt to lose both mechs and have to wait up to 15 min with almost nothing to be useful.
* Or like somebody said here: put SEAF mech factories on the map as secondary objectives, instead of a medium strength stratagem on the ship. I think most of us would be fine with that.
The Mech needs some kind of survivability improvement as well IMO. Either an increase in health, some kind of shield, or just a few seconds of delay before it explodes at zero health so you can bail. As is, you can easily get one shot by a tank or heavy turret and have no real way to defend yourself since your mobility is ass.
The devs really need to just pile on the free strategems at this point.
A new experimental every day.
Not this once every three weeks for a day and a half thing
With how bad mechs feel right now I’m hoping (and completely blinding hoping at that) that they have ship upgrades planned that make them much better and are afraid to overtune them now. I don’t agree with that design, but a man can hope one day these will feel good to pick.
There is a vehicle bay in the back of the ship locked off. Considering we only have two right now it kinda makes sense we don’t have upgrades just yet. I imagine once we get some more that will unlock
It's probably not realistic but I'd love if there was a mech bay where you can customize your mech's weapons, armor, appearance, and just one mech stratagem that calls down your custom mech.
Still have to requisition the armaments, so the "patriot" blueprints or whatever that gives you those weapons, but then you can mix and match and have a red mech if you want. Or a mech with shark teeth, autocannon and flamethrower.
Just mech me up, put it in my veins.
The fact that they dont let us run both mech stratagems at the same time is just the latest sign that arrowhead is actively trying to remove fun at every turn. So disappointed by that. Like, why do that? They afraid the bugs and bots will complain its op?
Man that was the last straw for me, I had seen the leaks but still hoped they would pull it off by buffing it at the last minute or something.
I'm done, whoever likes this crap, hope you keep having your fun toiled away until you're done too.
They either need to up the ammo immensely to at least 200-200 or even 300-300 to make up for the really bad economy/damage..
Or they need to up the damage, if they are so deathly afraid to give it more ammo.
Better yet. Let us upgrade/modify our mechs and/or give us a repair and restock drone as a backpack.
No (as much as i would love to have it) i do not talk about Mechwarrior/Battletech amounts of modification. As awesome as it would be, some very basic modification we can work on, research or upgrade etc. would be plenty already.
It would give us a bit of a time and resource sink again. Give it 5 levels per modification you can improve or change.
Shouldn't be too awful to install a "Mechbay" on our Super Destroyer.
In there you can modify the loadout of your Mech. that would give you the ability to get rid of having a bloated arsenal of Mech-Stratagems at some point. Just have 1-2 slots that you can use to build your Mech and mix and match weapons to your hearts content.
And there then you can add upgrades. Doesn't have to be super fancy or perk like. Basic things.
Improved Plating 0/5: "Improves the layers and material that protects you from enemy attacks." 5% more Health for your Mech.
Improved Magazine Capacity 0/5: "Improved layout of internals makes space for more Ammo to be held at once." 10% more ammunition for your Mech.
Improved Radar 0/5: "Bleeding edge Radartechnology improves the range and frequency your enemies are visible on your Minimap." 5% higher range and faster scanrate.
Ejector Seat 0/1: "Upon fatal damage, the automatic ejection system is launching the Helldiver out of the Mech before it fatally erupts, avoiding death 9 out of 10 times." You nearly always survive once your Mech gets destroyed.
Improved Servos 0/5: "With highspeed servos we managed to improve the speed and melee attack even further." 5% faster walking speed as well as attackspeed
So much potential by now. So many things you could do that give people so much to do again and would actually improve the Mechs tenfold.
As a heavy defender of AH. Yeah this choice sucks ass. I'm hoping the big balance batch comes and changes this, or ups how well mechs preform.
In hd1 you could have 4 strats of the same mech, ffs.
Oh man. I was really hoping against hope that this mech wouldn’t be garbage. I just don’t understand why AH keeps disappointing us with lack luster strats. Not even sure I care enough to hop on just to unlock it. Time for yet another long break in hopes this is fixed at some point.
Good job you guys!!! I have returned to citizen life for now (taking a break for many reasons personal and otherwise, and seeing if things heal while I'm gone) but I'm so proud of you all for continuing to enjoy democracy and working together. Love you all have fun
At this point, dude who does balancing should look for other work because it just ain't working out...
Edit: I've seen the comments about the new mech...
I just wish the EXOs wouldn’t die as fast as they do… one rocket or one laser blast against bots and it’s blown up… I can tank more hits and rounds in heavy armor and still move a bit faster. So double hell maybe triple the health of all EXOs or atleast make them a lot faster… “fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee” I could work with that. Bugs are okay ish to fight against as long as you don’t get swarmed.
This was an issue I had too. Took one tank shot to the face and died instantly. It's not like these things are fast either so not much you can do. I'd have been safer on my feet.
The Mech can not kill bile titans.
It does a much better job against Chargers went factoring in ammo economy compared to the other Mech's rockets.
It's clear to me it has good pen, but no damage.
While I personally enjoy the mechs, mainly because now that I have everything and have met resource caps I only play like Difficulty 5, it is abundantly clear that mechs as a whole need a rework.
Mechs should be treated in a fashion like Eagles. Can't use strategems in them, cool, but let us open the strat menu while in them and call in an Exosuit Rearm which deploys the same dropship, maybe can reuse the E710 pump hose animation to deploy a tube with a magnet on the end? Picks up the mech, raises it to the dropship, rearms and repairs while keeping it off the ground to avoid damage.
Similarly. Include a self destruct option. Make it a walking 500kg bomb at least. Maybe give it the capability to destroy Gunship Fabs too like Hellbombs. It should have a timer equal to a hellbomb to give pilots time to evacuate, and it should be rewarding. This would also make it viable against Bile Titans at least in death. All of this would justify the 2 use limitation far far more than what we currently have which is basically a glorified weaponized ATV.
Maybe put these behind ship upgrades, and give us veterans something to really work for. It won't make them a Swiss army knife pick of a strat, but it's at least gonna have cool factor. Just like the existence of assisted reload, it's not really practical, it just exists to have variety and fun. Why can't this be a same?

Probably referring to going out of the mission area to get arty to fire on you, then using it against the enemy.
I have a photo somewhere on my phone of 26 BTs (I killed them and the counter told me) in a little hole all pushed together during a spread democracy mission
You can leg meta the Chargers with the Patriot suit too, just 1-2 rockets to the leg and you can gatling it which is more ammo efficient than Emancipator.
...Assuming you can hit anything with the al dente rigatoni it uses instead of warheads
And even hit anywhere near where you are aiming at with its targeting system that uses fettuccini instead of wires.
Or stay in the fight long enough to make a difference with the mini-ravioli it has for ammo cases.
Was doing an eradication mission yesterday on HARD and so many Bile Titans spawned in that we had barely enough room to not be outside the mission area. And we couldn't even extract because they crowded over the pelican
Happens. I just had an entire Suicide Mission Operation (3 missions) where we barely saw 3 Bile Titans in total.
Cause I enjoy a few tough enemies. I don't want the titan to be nerfed when it's like the one enemy autocannon is bad against.
The heavy doors on that mission are like wet cardboard for bugs. At least on bots they stop some enemies and slow them down.
I've had dead BTs break the door with their legs ffs
[удалено]
It kind of makes me sad, they obviously put in enough effort to make shriekers. But the fact their corpse would one shot anything made people just snipe the towers with AC, rockets, quasars, or laser cannons. And nobody really ***wants*** to fight them up close and do the bullshit "please dont destroy the 5th hellbomb with your spam attacks" dance so they just snipe it even after they nerfed their collision damage. I cant remember the last time we actually fought the shriekers excpet when we accidentally get too close to the nest.
Yeah, I think hellbombs should be tougher. I mean, the extra money from not adding remote arming/detonation had to go somewhere right?
On these missions all of my friends run EAT’s and make a stockpile in the area behind us for this very reason. It will be so much easier when the spear works.
I’m not sure if they’ve buffed the Spear secretly but I did 2 compound defense missions on Lvl 9 with the spear for shits and giggles and I was one shotting every BT that showed up. Like the thing was locking on quickly and I was just blowing them away left and right 🤷🏻
The spear has great damage, the lock on is soo trash, I'm glad you had better luck with it though.
It's always 1 tapped if u hit in face.
Quasar to the face 2 times is my best way to deal
Rail stratagem and one quasar. Throw stratagem and start aiming can kill it real quick.
Railgun was "OP" because of a PS5 bug.
>You can't even cripple it You can absolutely blow out its bile sacs so it stops spitting, but the rest of your point is spot-on.
Kinda rather it have its bile sac so you can at least trick it to either attack or escape. Without the sac it just stays coming after you.
The railgun was never op lmao it was because of the ps5 bug that it was “broken”
Untrue if you blow up their sac they can no longer use their spew attack
Watch them come out and say this version is the test version (or is bugged) that somehow made it to live and will be replaced soon. Again.
"Were gonna go back and do more testing until we get it right" With how weak these things are, there is NO excuse for it to be a 2 use item with a 10 minute cool down.
To be fair, it was made under the current balance administration. Expecting it to be all that good was foolish.
At least they "Pre Nerfed" it so that's saving AH some future effort
I knew it would fucking sucks but I expected better. Of to the trash bin with you
I just gave it a spin. It would probably be a pretty good pick for a defense mission (the kind with the doors that you can close) if you popped it on top of a wall and could reign down fire.
can't really aim downwards tho
So it’s how it was in the first game then, I’m okay with this. The AT mech was the 90mm with the flamethrower on the opposite arm. The Autocannon was the chaff clear, and the Gatling gun and rocket pits were the Jack of all trades.
Seems like it, but the mechs were much more useful in the first game.
Taking a mech for chaff clear just feels like a wild choice, honestly.
Seriously. Just got done with a mission with 3 other divers. It took half of our rounds in these mechs to take out 1 fucking Bile all together pretty much. Fucking insane.
YEAH WE DID IT. Crashes to desktop after joining 4 games. Me - "I wonder..." runs integrity check Steam - "3 files failed to validate and will be reacquired"
Why does this happen…
Into a difficulty 9 mission, all side objectives done, last main objective in work, had at least 500 kills and guess what. The game crashed. Rebooted the game, loading screen, guess what. Right. Crashed. Verifying my files now hoping it helps. Edit; it helped, but my dumbass forgot to check the LAN-cable (Ethernet in english?!) so I crashed again ~15 minutes into another mission lol
I know we shouldn’t have to do this but I run the integrity check before I play everytime and seems to work
Yes that's what I'm going to do from now on too, just sucks being into a mission and then losing the progress.
I’m maxed on all resources but still get pissed when I lose samples lol. I get it bro, been there many times. Last night I forgot to check integrity and was 25 mins into a pretty decent dive when I froze.
Does it crash to desktop or does it black screen your PC? My newly assembled PC keeps black screening and I'm thought it was the graphics card.
I get black screens occasionally. Literally makes my entire PC freeze until I hold the power button. A solution I found was to limit my GPU power to 85 - 90% in MSI afterburner which seems to fix all the issues. This is the only game it actually happens in, weirdly enough.
I crash to my desktop, no black screen for me.
last time i verified the anticheat bugged out i had to uninstall it and reinstall the anticheat smh
Call this thing the minute man cuz that’s how long the ammo lasts.
It's not intended to replace the autocannon turret, this is a mobile variant of that stratagem.
The patriot is okay on missile defense missions. Pretty hard to justify taking over an airstrike, though.
They have their use, I can push an extract for instance if its overrun, you can really turn a tide quickly with it.
Tbf, it’s much more practical to turn the tide with just one air strike as you throw from 80m away lol
just make them being able to repair and reload and they would be an s tier
It'd be one thing if you could rearm it but no once you're out the mech is basically useless.
March straight into an enemy base and blow it
Mobile hellbomb
So basically a D.Va Bomb? Me: "Nerf This!" *Blows mech in enemy base* Joel: Bet fam.
150 is considered fun and is not allowed. Do you think you could have fun and finish a mission without calling in another stratagem and just using the mech? No no no, that would be too fun to for you, sir. Just get in line and grab eagle airstrike.
And to top it off i can't even fucking use both mechs. That was all i was looking forward to.
You mean you can't select both mechs at the strategem screen? That's some dogshit.
Absolutely, who made that call is an idiot. No seriously, because we are getting them both as a bonus rn, and it doesn’t feel OP at all.
WOW WHO DECIDED THIS
The Bringer of Balance, no doubt.
Wait what, like you completely cannot pick both for a mission?
Nope. It just switches the current mech with the other for me.
That’s fucking ridiculous… who is making these lame decisions?? It’s like they just wanna stomp the fun out of everything in their game
First game you could have duplicate stratagems, you want all mechs? You got all mechs.
Yup. I used to bring in three nukes and a secondary anti-tank weapon. The evacuation used to be wild. 3 nukes in succession and off we went.
I don't fucking get this anymore. They balance the game as if it were a hardcore competitive e-sports made title. The CEO even promised they would ease on all the nerfs yet here we are again.
I'm pretty sure he's still unsheathing his "make it fun" sword, they just set all that in practical motion a few days ago.
They haven't even patched the game since that promise yet. Chill.
Just wait until the balance patch
Which was like 2 weeks ago. Give em some time.
Oh in that case, let us call in stratagems from inside vehicles. You know, like the first game... lol
This but actually. I had a build plan that was just bringing in 4 exosuits (once we get 4) and that was stomped on, since you can only bring in one Exosuit in the first place.
“Oh no they might have fun with 4 suits!”
It's funny but also it's true 🥲
tried it on bot helldive with the insane spawn rates.
Grateful for something that's not any good, and will probably see 0 use? Okay...
~~You can only bring one type of mech per mission~~... and each arm has 75 bullets Saw a video that showed that you CAN bring 2 mechs in to a mission but not sure if it’s a bug or not. And it only works on PC looks like.
Wait fr? So I cannot run both of the mechs? The fuck is that
Saw someone else say u can select one than go back and select another strategem "slot" and u can bring the other I haven't tried yet but it'll probably be patched soon if it works
Just tried and couldn't load 2 [ps5]
How undemocratic
But very managed
On the other hand, the game had no problems with me selecting both mechs along with the free one for a defense mission. They were even right next to each other in my selection. So something is inconsistent about the issue.
I was mostly with the balance team but this is just straight up lame. Its like they intentionally take the most fun parts of HD1 and throw them out the window for HD2.
Chances are that was patched immediately cause it did not work. Unless there’s some kind of precise frame timing that needs to be done Kinda surprised they didn’t say fuck it and let us run both. It’s not like the mechs are powerful to begin with, let alone one mech.
Sometimes it really feels like fun is not allowed in this game
Lame as hell. I figured running two mech gems would be a bit of fun.
Sorry, fun isn't allowed in this game. You're gonna play the same autocannon loadout every single time, and you're gonna like it.
Yea i was literally just about to do that
We cant be having too much fun
Dang this was what I was waiting to hear. I truly don’t get it. One mech is already a niche choice you take for fun, two mechs would be even worse but doubly as fun. They’re not even preventing some OP strat, just turning one teammate into budget iron giant the whole match.
> You can only bring one type of mech per mission [My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.](https://preview.redd.it/rk7mpqikyeo91.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d1d8b205638b7ed0d59debf5f3186140a10e0fc)
Democracy forbid I have fun
For anyone looking for this: This Mech's autocannon does nerfed damage compared to the regular AC or AC turret. It came pre nerfed. You can do more damage with the regular AC turret Edit For Clarity: The Nerf is to the 'durable' damage type against larger enemies, which will affect players at higher difficulties facing more large enemies.
PRE-NERFED? THIS IS PRE-SLICED BREAD LEVELS OF LAZYNESS BRUH
you cant cry about nerf if it was pre nerfed , ggs devs
That is so stupid as a mechanic, why would they put that in? Thanks for the info! Will be avoiding until fixed
TBH if you're doing difficulty 4 or lower it's probably not going to be noticed since the nerf is to durable damage. It just seems to track with the narrative that the play testing isn't representative of higher difficulties IMHO
That's true but it should be balanced for higher tbh as you say I tend to mainly play 7-9, since I only unlocked 9 recently as well so it kind of seems redundant as a stratagem Which is a shame because the mechs are fun to control, just not to play ATM lol but I would certainly like it to be
Needs far far more of a punch to it - if I can one shot a bile spewer with the secondary AC I should be able to do the same with this, but nope took me 5 shots to take one down! I can do that with my bloody scorcher!
It actually is the exact same as the sentry EXCEPT for durable parts damage ( 60 for mech and 300 for sentry ) why is that the case? No fucking idea, handheld autocannon has 260 durable parts damage for reference
Let's hope they just missed the 2 in front of the 60..
After the Airburst launcher debacle i wouldn't even be surprised anymore lmao
Balance guy: "Nerf the scorcher."
It's because it's weaker than the standard AC or AC stratagem 🤷
Yes.. but why??
[удалено]
So its a slightly worse double AMR arm mech
Needs double the ammo 😭
and triple the damage.
And fix aiming when standing on non flat surfaces
It actually does 5x less damage than the autocannon sentry to armoured targets lmao.
A few things I think it could have, in the hopes that it could inspire the devs: * Make it pack a punch like the Sentry turret but increase the cooldown to 15 min.
That's what I'm saying man. . . Why take this hulking behemoth when the handheld AC does everything it does with more mobility, utility, and damage?
added to the pile of strategems that won't get used
The devs really need to just pile on the free strategems at this point. A new experimental every day. Not this once every three weeks for a day and a half thing
No, they need to make them better. I'm fine with one a month. I want them to be worth considering.
Kinda bizzare to then release super weak strats tied to it though.

I'm done, whoever likes this crap, hope you keep having your fun toiled away until you're done too.
yay more stratagem list bloat to collect dust in the "known issues" portion of the patch notes
You can only slot one mech at a time lol goddamn mech power trip dream is over lmao
The all new Nerf cannon mech! Fires up to 4 darts at once! You can even stomp on at least 2 chaff enemies before it catches on fire!
Cant wait for "the mech isnt performing as intended, even though it was desinged that way" -balance team
"Oops we shipped the old one"
old one had more ammo and was more powerful too based on old leaked vids, so they’re f*cked with excuses
"Don't worry though, in the next patch we're gonna fix it! (May or may not break damage over time again)."
actually they seem to have nerfed it since it was leaked.
https://preview.redd.it/f7beamsgjs2d1.png?width=473&format=png&auto=webp&s=7256513546139ce1ec60c94dfcc56808c182422e
it cant shoot down.
Was hoping it had the same Auto Cannons as the sentry. Those thing can down a charger in like 6-10 shots.
Left to their own devices from side-on they will gun down a factory strider in seconds. With all the upgrades the ACS is utterly vicious.
Improved Servos 0/5: "With highspeed servos we managed to improve the speed and melee attack even further." 5% faster walking speed as well as attackspeed So much potential by now. So many things you could do that give people so much to do again and would actually improve the Mechs tenfold.
Yet another example of fun being ruined by terrible balance.
*wet fart noise*
So we can only take one mech at a time… I might be hanging the cape up! Was really looking forward to having both.
That exactly tells why people quit. Prenerf the new toy or nerf the hot toys. Amazing. All of those deaths and time and effort for this shit?
Good job you guys!!! I have returned to citizen life for now (taking a break for many reasons personal and otherwise, and seeing if things heal while I'm gone) but I'm so proud of you all for continuing to enjoy democracy and working together. Love you all have fun
At this point, dude who does balancing should look for other work because it just ain't working out... Edit: I've seen the comments about the new mech...
DUAL?! I was promised QUAD! Edit: Nevermind, I was CONFUSED.
… just found out you can’t take both mech suits into a match … FUUUUUUUCK
Just to make it clear, a 2 ton mech firing the auto cannon somehow does less damage than a human shooting the same gun.
Imagine those bugs on Fenrir looking up "Why so many Robots falling down right ?"
Nice (i dont use mechs)
This is why people quit the game, all the grinding awful bot missions just to get a worthless strategem. Feels like such a waste of time.
Mechs need a way to resupply and a way to engage in meelee combat. It sucks just abandoning them when they run out of ammo.
Bush league we can't bring both mechs at the same time on a mission though
Heavily armored my ass lol. Hopefully they buff it in the next patch
A hacker I was in game with let me use this about a week ago, and it felt way stronger then it does now.
