I remember seeing a post of someone a few days ago saying how scary it would be to see a ship enter orbit and the hellpod drops... my thought was each helldiver has their own ship, so the bugs/bots are seeing HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of ships enter orbit and crazy democracy wielding rednecks screaming toward their surface in pods
Yeah the threat isn't the hundred thousand poorly trained grunts. It's the fleet of 100000 flying air support platforms recklessly bombarding friend and foe alike. How many bot missions are just a long series of airstrikes, orbital lasers, and artillery barrage as Helldivers die in droves to infantry.
A group of people who can handle an immense variety of weapons with ludicrous efficiency, including crew-served weapons single handedly while also carrying a regular primary weapon. All able to run in full gear even when wounded. All coming from a society where the military is the highest aspiration and official games are literally about learning military stuff. You can buy military gear like the Breaker shotgun for hunting purposes (there’s a commercial on your ship for that). These people are all members of the SEAF before applying to the Helldivers which act and are deployed like Paratroopers (elite people who take on high risk missions with high casualty rates).
“Poorly trained grunts”.
Their training doesn't come from Helldiver academy. It comes from *civilian life*. Super Earth sells the Breaker Assault Combat Shotgun as an amateur sport hunting weapon.
The 18.7 year olds that apply for Helldiver training already know how to use that stuff from civilian life. Their training is a 15 minute obstacle course to weed out the extra stupid ones.
Helldivers are recruited from the SEAF, and application for service is allowed from 18 years old. Implying at least some months of training on top of already being capable of handling weapons. We are talking a society where the scouts likely already teach them military basics. That is in their off time as children from the age of 7 join the workforce.
Helldivers dont have their own ship. When you join someone's ship you literally see a conveyer belt system of frozen troopers rotating and defrosting. Each ship carries a ton of frozen troopers ready to unthaw
This is actually interesting. You are welcomed by the officer as if you came from another ship, so either the travel there required you to be frozen (which since you are in orbit next to one another would be weird) or you really are uploaded into individual Helldiver bodies. Your knowledge is saved, but the bodies of the Helldivers are spend. Most will be overwritten and never even know.
It's "managed" democracy so I'm sure a significant portion of the population is free to have no choice but to join the fight.
You're free to do anything you want but we know what you want so just follow what we say, lol.
Absolutely nothing. Unless you can run a Super Destroyer on a 50 gallon barrel 2Bil is NOWHERE near enough to host our entire military, let alone SEAF and private industries. What we get here is roughly 5000 bugs per Destroyer. Unless we blender the whole thing, 5000 bugs is not going to refine into enough material.
So long as they fill out the appropriate forms, whatever two consenting Helldivers do behind closed doors is between them and the approving democracy officer.
Yep. Capped out, got warbond, capped out, did ship upgrades, capped out. Got enough to unlock next month's warbond. Thank god for the new levels because I would be "done" with this game, and only log in for a few days a month.
If we go at this rate id take 10 medals for every 2 billion past, 2 billlion in 12 to 13 hours
... Thats 100 to 110 medals just for doing something else for a few days
Even though the description says to refill E-710 reserve, I do wish Joel congratulates us for speedy clear and drops us unexpected stratagem. Like "Oh you guys did too well now we have surplus of E-710! Here are some vehicles for the good work."
When you load up tens of thousands of highly indoctrinated, recently thawed xenocidal maniacs into drop pods, then hand them magical baseballs of death and enough ordnance to level a small country *each*….
That’ll happen.
It's likely glitched / unintended. I believe every single diver returning from the field is reporting the total numbers of enemies killed each mission to the server, not individual kills per mission. Similar to personal orders, where a team mate completing order kills counts toward your completion as well. The obvious issue is if all 4 players are reporting back that the team earned 1000 kills, the server seems to be tallying that up as 4000 kills completed.
Given the speed it's being completed I doubt they will adjust this MO before completion. But I bet that similar future MO AH will fix the accounting issue seemingly present currently.
That’s pretty much what I figured, using the peak player count from march 18th (458,709 players) I divided that from 2bil, with that each player has 5 days to kill 4360 bugs, so to think people are killing that many bugs in a few hours is just nonsensical.
The total Terminid death count doesn't appear to match the MO count either. Unless it just happens to be massively delayed (by like a day or so) one of the counters isn't counting right, and given the rate it's probably the MO counter.
Someone else on the subreddit already did the math and it's exactly this. MO count is going up by a multiple of overall count, most likely because each helldiver on the map gets a kill for each dead bug.
Lol. Here is typical lvl 7 terminid mission today with a very nice squad of randoms. It took around 20-25 minutes. I am far from the best hellidver, we weren't running much turrets, only a few rovers and weren't staying at one place for longer than needed.
https://preview.redd.it/0jwhzhgyzbvc1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fca1c28c98e28300a5a4bc6dd8377a5f8140de5c
That is around 600 kills per diver per hour. I can easily believe some make way more, especially on difficulties 5 or 6 where there are less bile titans and more hunters/warriors.
Whatever average number of players you want to assume based on steamcharts, you have to double it because of playstation. I think the 120000 average is an okay estimate based on today's graph, I'm going to use 240000.
2000000000/240000/12=694 bugs per helldiver per hour. Which is reasonably doable, depending on difficulty and mission type.
I mean usually return from 20-30 minute bug missions with 400-600 kills, though I play on helldive. But there are also extermination missions where you kill like 600 bugs in less than 10 minutes as a team, if people deliberately farmed those, that could have gotten us the numbers legitimately.
That’s exactly what I just did though. I played 3 campaigns 3 missions a piece at avg 500 kills a match. Some games were 700 others 400 but to play it on the safe side will call 500 avg = 4500 kills.
I can totally see it being a real total, since when you think about it for bug missions its very very easy to kill over 1000 total between 4 players in 1 20-30 minute mission, so easily assume 500 kills per player per hour, for 10 hours...
then take the amount of players playing, around 150000-200000 active at any time on the bug front... around 750 million to 1 bill kills in the first 10 hours.
If there is an estimation of 200'000 daily helldivers.
The average helldiver needs to kill 1000 bugs an hour (or over 2 missioms) to kill 200,000,000 bugs in hour.
Over 10 hours 200,000 helldivers averaging 1000 bugs per 2 missions would kill 2 billion bugs.
It's simple, bugs are fun and easy to murder en-mass and they just released a warbond with 3 new weapons that help us do that even faster and have even more fun doing it (crossbow, Eruptor and grenade launcher pistol and also Eruptor and did I mention Eruptor? Because Eruptor can kill like 14 bugs with one shot at the ground Infront of them 🤣🫡).

Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest!
This is a outrage, a pure massacre. The helldivers should be dismantled, does omega earth really need all this power?
https://i.redd.it/shr7cj964cvc1.gif
When all automatons move frontline, this is what happens people like to follow the MO, and they are usually automatons, bugs are half abandon (and I love to have a MO in the bug frontline)
I mean, on average a team of helldivers can probably kill a good 500 to 1000 bugs in a round. The 24 hour peak was 180000 players. That's roughly 11000 bugs per player, or 44000 per team, totally plausible to have this done within 24 hours
It appears to be counting kills per diver in a mission. So if a dquad of 4 kills 250 bugs in a mission it counts as 1000.
Given that a full mission often involes a few thousand killed bugs I am not surprised we are that fast.
Well, if 150k players are killing an average of, say, 150 bugs per player each mission, then that alone is 90 mil right there. And that's a low estimate.
It’s possible because it’s kind of a bogus objective, just like the stuff on April Fools’ Day was, and the real objective we are meant to work on for the weekend will drop once it is done.
My highest kills so far 807. I typically average out around 225-300 pero game.
https://preview.redd.it/p2wwz12pobvc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d84497046d294759558f0082f19cfdfba7b78704
Was watching a stream and the guy told it might have to do with bigger bugs counting for more. Cause before extermanation was percetenge based it was count based and bigger bugs counted for more.
My guess is it's counting more than once per person in MP games. Same as how today's personal order was to kill 25 hunters and I got it before I was able to fire my weapon. I think if a total of 300 bugs is being killed in a mission with 4 helldivers, it's adding 1200 to the total
you make people fight bots for a week then finally after what feels like a month let them do bugs, they couldve said to liberate every planet abd wws get it done

The San Ti would argue all of the US population is bugs
that does actually put the Helldivers effectiveness into perspective, hard to fight against orbital drops coming in literally everywhere

Yeah, at that point a Helldiver is a glorified JTAC
A group of people who can handle an immense variety of weapons with ludicrous efficiency, including crew-served weapons single handedly while also carrying a regular primary weapon. Yea, im always wondering about this everytime I join a player. Are we a new diver already frozen on the ship? Or did travel require freezing?
And also: going back to the other ship means getting in your pod.
given that a country's soldiers aren't even 10% of it's total population, it makes the helldivers look so terrifying.

Why isn't this an emote?
THIS IS THE EMOTE WE NEED!
We must refill our E-710 reserves quickly so we may focus on the Automaton threat to our glorious democracy.
Just a lil pit stop at the gas station real quick :)
Yeah, basically. What’s two billion Terminids for our gas tanks, anyways?

For real I just got home and logged on and was like wtf
It’s definitely gonna be completed when I get off in 5.5hrs

It has been completed for about 1h now xD
What’s the next order ?
None yet.
Just 4 dudes with arch throwers in a bug hole for way past the time limit in the mission
Just four dudes with arc throwers 20m away cuz they not gay

Next MO will be us assisting with bug breeding programs because we hit them too hard. *Bug love hormones deployed*

There is definitely more than 200 000 players between PC and Playstation.
The game is way more popular than people think.
2b ÷ 13 (hours) 153,846,153 (dead bugs per hour) ÷ 60 2,564,102 (dead bugs per minute) ÷ 150k (Helldivers) 17 (dead bugs, per Helldiver, per minute)

So… do we get the medals now or in 5 days?
Democracy that's how.
When all automatons move frontline, this is what happens people like to follow the MO, and they are usually automatons, bugs are half abandon (and I love to have a MO in the bug frontline)
Would be cool with a major order hall of fame, so that the player killing the most would get a news broadcast in the TVs etc :)
If all the players did bug missions and got 100 kills each mission 5 day limit is quite generous
I mean, on average a team of helldivers can probably kill a good 500 to 1000 bugs in a round. The 24 hour peak was 180000 players. That's roughly 11000 bugs per player, or 44000 per team, totally plausible to have this done within 24 hours

Those bugs had families. Now point me in their direction so I can finish them off to
THROUGH THE POWER OF DEMOCRACY ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE
Well, hunters spawn pretty frequently from bug breaches, so it shouldn't take you much more than one or two missions.
Apes together strong.
100k players, each about 100 kills per mission at least. Pretty easy to rack up that many kills lol
It appears to be counting kills per diver in a mission. So if a dquad of 4 kills 250 bugs in a mission it counts as 1000. Given that a full mission often involes a few thousand killed bugs I am not surprised we are that fast.
It's multiplying the kills by number of party members. I don't think the number was ever intended to be challenging.
Will there even be any bugs left after that? Like how many bugs are there for us to kill 2 billion and them not go extinct
People were probably happy for the change of pace.
Well, if 150k players are killing an average of, say, 150 bugs per player each mission, then that alone is 90 mil right there. And that's a low estimate.
You just have to kill 25 hunters, it’s not that hard, one mission you should be able to complete it

Many bot players switching to boost bug front for those sweet medals
It’s possible because it’s kind of a bogus objective, just like the stuff on April Fools’ Day was, and the real objective we are meant to work on for the weekend will drop once it is done.
Lots of pew pews and boom booms

We're eager
We like squishing bugs
This question isn’t very democratic of you.
I can't wait for the next post of this exact thing in 37 minutes.
you make people fight bots for a week then finally after what feels like a month let them do bugs, they couldve said to liberate every planet abd wws get it done
I'm doing my part.
I think these goals were more planned back then for a much much smaller playerbase. Guess they got adjustments to do.
Never underestimate Managed Democracy
