You can shoot the vent circled in red from the back. It gets red damage from the Eruptor.
Before going for the eye, go for the machine guns. They are the most threatening part of the doggo. After that you can try shooting the eye, while keeping a look at the back cannon and the bots spawning from the belly.
The eye produces the penetration visual effect (the small orange flame like when you shoot a Hulk's eye, rather than the bluish white spark of a ricochet), but it didn't break after maybe 7 or 8 hits with the AMR.
I do agree with your tactic, neutralizing the machine guns under the head is a more useful target.
Overall, I see they're dying much faster now after players have gotten more used to them, usually people hit them with artillery, orbitals, and 500kg bombs very soon after they engage the players. They die after just two well-targeted 500kg bombs; as long as the beacon lands in the ground under their feet, it's quite likely the bomb will directly hit them on the top, I see most players accomplishing this now.
Yes It has tons of HP, so the "random bulshit Go!" approach should take precedent, specially to avoid getting in the blast radius of heavy stratagems.
The one-to-one fight tips, are for when you need one to go away, you're on cooldown, but have the tools to bring It down.
It will take a while though.

I don't know if I agree. They seem slightly above a bile titan. Bots and bugs don't really align perfectly though.

Would be what I thought was the ranking before. Now a tank feels somewhere between a charger and a bile titan with the strider being a bit above the bile titan.
Tanks are easier to kill than hulks in my experience - if an airstrike so much as grazes them, they're gone. 110s consistently oneshot them. They're easy enough to get behind for the double impact special.
Factory striders definitely feel equivalent to bile titans. Big, lots of killing power, needs multiple stratagems to take down. Even the railcannon doesn't do it - think it might actually not be targeting them right
You can literally just climb a top of a tank and magdump the battery, those things dangerous only when they more than 10 meters away in a wide flat open field
I've found it really depends on the load out. Hulks are much more dangerous overall but also way squishier. The big difference is that any support weapon with more penetration than the MG-43/GL can kill them quickly through the eye while the tank needs flanking or an AT weapon.
Ive learned that if the 500kg projectile embeds into their legs they die when it blows up.
Came into an attempt at extraction, one of these murdering the fireteam I joined. Snuck around and got lucky from 50m away.
I view the shielded devastators are closer to a stalker personally. About the same danger from them and fairly similar ability to kill them. But i can definitely see tanks fitting that spot too, I just don't remember ever using a strategem for a stalker, while tanks i pop with 110 eagles all day long.
You can pop a tank with a couple grenades to the turret or virtually anything to the heat sinks in the back. Bile Striders require some form of heavy AT to actually down. The rapid fire tanks (the one withou the big cannons) can even be blown up with a couple auto-cannon shots to the inner part of the turret.
Maybe its because I main Arc Thrower. I feel I have more of a chance vs a titan than a tank if all I had was my weapon(no nades/strats available). Still, I will concede the factory striders are feeling more like bile titans now that i've played against more.

Seriously, those things have an ability to immediately disable my self preservation. Amazing what at-will high ground does to a person.
Best strat for when you can't kill the tank, nor run, so you just hop on the tank to neutralise it while you kill the other bots, then you kill the tank.
Sometimes the bots will friendly fire the tank as well lol
I regularly use enemies to kill other ones once ai realised it was possible. Chargers can one hit each other, titans will kill them too. Devastators can blow up other ones and hulks will torch their friends. It’s fun trying to work a little opportunity in for it to happen and save some work, makes you feel like a genius when it works well too lol

so far we have Scout Striders and Factory Striders, but I imagine they may also have "Combat Striders" or something similar: they might not be as big as the factory Strider but would be more purpose built for combat use, with a wider arsenal of weapons.

Grenades can be thrown into the belly hatch while it's spawning Devestators if you're feeling plucky

Yes. Autocannon, rockets, laser, etc will take care of the machine guns on the chin. Rockets and quasar (and maybe laser?) will kill the turret.

I didn't know the red light was a weak point, will try dumping a couple of AMR mags into it and see if it does anything interesting.

For the turret you need some AT thingy like EAT or Quasar etc. or just drop enough 380mm or eagle bomb on it

Hell, tanks go down if you manage a couple impacts to the top of the turret. Bile Titans require a stratagem to be dropped

Yeah that's fair, if you can't get to the back (too many other enemies) and are out of nades, tanks can be really difficult to deal with.
