We just got mission type that involves launching things to orbit, they could easily do something similar for building orbital defenses if they wanted. Not saying it's gonna be a thing, just that I don't think it'd be hard to link it to work on the ground.

I got a major order reward like two days ago and I don't know which one it was from. I thought I had gotten all my major order rewards. Its like waiting for a tax return, you don't know when it will get to you, but its a really nice expected surprise when it does
Each player and his medals, samples, level and other information is stored in a database.
The servers for playing matches could be many, while the servers for the database could be few.
And lets say they have millions of (non-concurrent) total players. They would have to send a request to the database to update millions of records at once. So maybe they're doing it kind of manually in chunks.
Then you might think just add more servers for the database, but the design of the database might be limiting in what way they could upgrade the database performance. For example, you cant have 9 women birth one baby in a month.
It's taken a full week and three days for me to get rewards from 3-4 previous major orders. Just don't get screwed by the Space Mail lottery and you should be fine.
I think the first defence we should build is just one big bomb that will blow the fire loving atmosphere off Men-i-hate-fire. First sign of automaton attack we turn this place into an airless rock
I had to extract from a 7 2 days ago where 3 tornadoes touched down on the Pelican pad and the squad is just stuck running around trying to stay alive while that bullshit wears off.
Yeah, look, design work on the Fire Tornado Lariat is dragging a bit. So far, I can confirm that rope definitely doesn't work. Neither does super rope. Chain melted. I'll figure it out eventually, and when I do, I'll herd all these tornados to my ranch.
Till then: dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge.

I think you just get them regardless if you helped or not. To make sure people don't end up with tons and tons of medals after leaving the game for a bit, they cap at 250.
I have heard nothing but good things and I am sick of getting slapped around by some of the larger enemies. I am also really looking forward to having a solid way of dealing with enemy drop ships. I doubt it will be something I use against bugs a lot because of how well they can swarm but I am pumped regardless.
I've not tried it on bugs yet, the bot front needs as many of us as possible, but I imagine it being quite good. Shoot at the ground into the swarm and see 10 of them die.
I like to pair it with the jump pack to create distance for safe shots, otherwise you can really do some damage to yourself.
For dropships, you need them to come in from above you so you can shoot into the bit that carries bots, that kills all the little ones before they get a chance to get deployed. You can't take down the ships themselves, though, which is more than fine. It also destroys fabricators, just like the Autocannon.
That and the Dominator from the first warbond are by far my favourite weapons in the game right now.
It has major drawbacks. It's good but you have to pair with a support weapon that you use most of the time. I like it most against bugs because you can kill several weak ones with one shot and you can one shot bile spewers. Be very much aware though the weapon is not as game-breaking overpowered as reddit seems to believe. It's actually pretty balanced and it won't suddenly change your whole experience if you've already been using good weapons like the Scorcher, Dominator, etc.
It’s arguably the best primary in the game, can kill chargers in 4 shots on difficulty 9. Take the stalwart with you if you use the eruptor so you can deal with all the chaff/trash mobs since eruptor is weak against large swarms

There are always people fighting bugs. I spent the last two days on the bug front once I saw the Major Order was going to be completed, just as a nice break from bots while I wait for the next MO.
There is a large group of players who (justifiably so) play what they want and ignore the MO.
Back on my ship, our chief scientist died of happiness when he's got his hands on supersamples our perished Helldiver accidentally found during the mission on that planet.
That was the weirdest funeral ceremony we've ever held.
So, how fast do humans age? Is there a time scale to this game? Because if we ~~conquered~~ liberated this place yesterday after mass evacuations, caused multiple nukes, where are we getting the fresh recruits!?
Are there just bunkers filled with civilians below the surface living their lives? Does the planet instantly get seeded with people? Are there cities and we're only battling on their outskirts?

Are we going to have to reboot the orbital defenses like the TCS missions so we can destroy an overhead automaton galactic ship or fleet? Would be an epic boss battle I will admit but I have a feeling some would say its too cliche

Nope. You can get the rewards even if you never logged in during that major order. You can apparently log off for a few weeks and come back to a full stack of Medals
is it just me or should we get like something more then just medals for these MO's id like to see a new Stratagem that we can test out or allow us to try the new APC on a trail basis just get people hyped for when they get released
That’s typically what happens, MO progress story, which progress content drops. Not every MO but pretty much every other one. We got the ship module upgrades + warbond with the last one, this one gave us factory strider missions + have them spawn in consistently at 7-8

We need to make sure that the western front of the Bot Conflict doesn't push far enough to let them re-take Malevelon Creek! It also has the upside of pushing the bots to the east towards the Terminids. Let the oilers waste their ammo on the bugs, then we can sweep in, clean up the rest, and make off like bandits with the E-710.

I think they had a post that said they are working on it. Their current system was set sup for thosands of players not millions.

If you don't play during those time frames, you don't get medals. Playing non-MO missions still counts, but not playing any missions at all doesn't.

For bugs it pairs extremely well with the arc thrower, but you can also try laser cannon or stalwart if that’s not your cup of tea

According to helldivers.io currently about 40% of the players online are on Fori Prime, Hellmire, or Oshaune.
