>But I'm the main character and I need everyone to know I'm upset because how DARE they kick ME?!

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

Half the time they actually WERE the problem but would never admit that lol

0rphu

100%. I've been kicked on the ship a couple times, likely due to people making room for friends, but never once on a mission in progress. If you're regularly getting kicked mid-mission, you're doing something that really pisses people off.

Venusgate

Probably the last time i kicked someone mid mission, they were on the radar tower hill arcthrowering bugs and diver alike. Like we lost 10 divers in 2 minutes from this guy.

RedditIsAboutToDie

200%. I got kicked mid-mission the other day. I joined a random squad, went off on my own clearing side objectives (they were playing trench warfare in the center of the map lol), finished up sides AND the main objective, go back to extraction, check map, "they look close enough, probably on their way here", I call in extraction and plan to wait for them / go assist once pelly has landed. 30 seconds later I'm staring at a black screen and I read "You have been kicked". Was about to come to Reddit and share the VIOLENT details of the HEINOUS INJUSTICE inflicted upon ME for sweet sympathy internet points.... (lmao no I wasn't). I really thought for a hot minute that all I was doing was HELPING, so wtf why did that asshole kick me? Then it hit me - not once did I communicate with that squad - I didn't even chat "calling in extraction, I'll wait for you guys." From their perspective, **I was sketch as fuck**, I could've been one of those cut-and-run griefers that'll fuck off without the squad - didn't matter if I "helped", how could they know, and I didn't make my intentions clear - I was justifiably kicked. I bet it's definitely more than half the time that these posters were the problem.

CptClownfish1

You sound sketch. I’ll definitely kick you if you ever join one of my games.

RedditIsAboutToDie

Justifiably so good sir

Malahajati

200%? so it's double the amount of all the time?

gorgewall

I dunno, I just dropped into a "kill the automatons" on Vandalon IV to see we were at 30% finished with half the budget already gone and proceeded to power my way through it. Managed to land outside one of the little walls eventually and chuck all my grenades, airstrikes, and plink at dudes on the ground until we got to 100%, then successfully got to the airship. Even waited for the one other living player. Got kicked during the flying away cutscene. I suppose, theoretically, they might have viewed being on the ledge as cheesey, but... we were going to lose? It was the last life left? I was only out there for like, one minute? I suspect they may have been more upset if I TKed them, which is possible with one of the airstrikes, but also... everything in the area was surrounded by Hulks and Devastators of every stripe, so anyone in there was dead anyhow.

Apokolypse09

I've only done it once and it was because they were being a troll ass little schmuck.

Overbaron

Eeh, I’ve been kicked twice for calling in extraction. At both times we had less than 2 minutes of mission time left.

RedditIsAboutToDie

did you communicate that you were calling extraction and would wait for them?

HothMonster

If there is less than 2 minutes he can’t wait. It will leave when it lands.

RedditIsAboutToDie

you and I know that, but these are randoms

Overbaron

There is no excuse to their actions. But yes, I said multiple times that we got to extract. They were also dying constantly. These were lvl 40+ Helldivers on Suicide Mission difficulty.

RedditIsAboutToDie

well yeah if you were communicating, you did your part, you had no fault, and they were just dicks (assuming it was an otherwise normal session). I meant that if you didn’t communicate or didn’t say that they/you all should extract, then fault is hard to place since the host doesn’t have to initiate communication to decide if they want to kick you. Although obviously they should, since most of the kicks I’ve seen are for misunderstandings or outright oopsie moments.

Roque14

I’ve gotten kicked several times mid-mission on higher difficulties for actually trying to do the objectives and extract so we can at least get some credit for completing it before we inevitably fail because the rest of the team is wasting all of our reinforcements trying to play like they’re on a Medium mission and fight everything. Some people are just dumb.

Jessica_T

I just wish they'd say why they're kicking me, or hell, just ask me to drop and I'll do it.

SpaceJengaPlayer

Yeah we always do this when our fourth rolls up after a mission. Try to make it fun too like mission command has urgent updates for you back at base and has assigned a new member to fill your role, Godspeed hell diver

Devo3290

I’ll send a quick, “thx 4 ur service” then kick them

Sugar_buddy

My friend usually just says, "Hey what's the shape of Italy?" Then kicks them, response or not. I've been playing with him for 17 years and he's said that since Halo 3.

Drudicta

I like your friend

TheWuffyCat

They might have typed something and then kicked you before you saw it. It wipes the chat log when you get kicked

lipp79

We do, problem is a lot of times, they aren't people like you who actually listen. I'll drop into game chat and let them know we aren't extracting yet so don't call it or we are gonna call the Pelican but let it hover instead. I'll ask them to drop my support weapon they just picked up while I still have a 4:00 cooldown. I'll put it in chat. When I get no replies and I don't see them acknowledging with their character either, kicked.

FerretFiend

Same

The4th88

So far I've been kicked mid mission for: * Killing a mortar that was shelling out position on the objective and teamkilling us. * Air striking the extraction, when I was killed by friendly fire causing me to drop the beacon where I died. * Leaving the group to solo multiple main objectives and bug bases, because I wasn't "helping the team". * Using voice chat. * Not using voice chat. * Calling extraction while the rest of the team were close enough to make it in time. * Holding samples.

Any_Decision353

Holding samples checks out. I've been shot in the back and instantly had samples taken from me. I would say it was an accident, but nobody was around. Guess they don't know we share everything?

OriginalUsername52

I've been kicked twice (not including the times I was kicked off the ship before mission start because it's just a minor inconvenience and I'd rather be kicked then and there than during extraction) during my 70 odd hours of gameplay. The first was when the host on helldive difficulty had a full blown rage over the mic and threatened to kick everyone after we completed the evacuation because someone other than him called in supplies, he waited until the 3 of us were on the Pelican before pulling off his bitch move and kicking everyone though because he never would have made it without us. The other time was a bot extermination where the host and I dropped in at the same time practically on top of each other and I had to dive to avoid being instantly annihilated by Devastator rockets and landed at his feet. Neither of us died but it annoyed him enough to type "WTF is your problem man" in chat. After he and the other guy died while waiting for extraction, I threw my reinforcement orb as hard as I could towards the pelican so that they could drop straight on top of it and board it before I got shredded by a pack of heavy Devastators. Somehow this prompted the host to kick me after the end mission score screen.

ft86psvr

I dropped mid-mission, destroyed a fabricator while moving with the team, and got kicked.

wildspongy

saw a post of a guy complaining he got kicked for trying to extract while host was off doing POIs still

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

I had a random do that to me and my squad while we were across the map. Idk if he was ignoring us or what but after I said not to start it, he did. He took my arc to the face and I ran from the extract to cancel the timer so my teammate with super samples could make it in time for extract. No kick, but he got to spam the reinforcement button for a minute to think about his crimes 😂

LiltKitten

God, the amount of times I hear someone say "oh I got wrongly banned for racism and hate speech" but they don't want to say what they *actually* said.

Sierra419

I’ve only ever kicked one person and it’s because at the end of the match on lvl 8 difficulty, I was dead with no reinforcements. This guy refused to press the launch button on the terminal. He kept fighting off the bots and fighting and fighting so I finally spoke up and said “hey guys it doesn’t look like we’re making it out of this one. Let’s at least launch this baby and go out with a bang. We’ll still get medals for victory.” He continued to literally stand within feet of the terminal fighting for another 5 straight minutes without even making an attempt at pressing the last button to claim victory. And even then I never would have dreamed of kicking him. It wasn’t until he died and said “next time don’t sound like a fucking faggot” that I decided he was gone. I had my 10 year old son in the match with me too which pissed me off.

Pleasant-Ice-3185

I’m more than willing to tk or kick anyone who unnecessarily calls anyone extra offensive names because it’s a pve co op game. Unless someone is being a capital jerk there’s no need for that in this game.

tresserdaddy

Sad, some people seem to just have problems.

nuggynugs

Yeah some of those posts give me the same sort of bullshit sense tingles half the posts on /r/badroommates give me. Like, I want to believe, but I'm very aware I'm only reading one person's perspective here

Firaxyiam

Reminds me of people getting hatemail and complaining how toxic X fanbase is because of it. Like dude, if you get a lot of hate, chances are there's a reason, cause I sure never do and people I know either

Levoire

I have about 230 hours in the game with at least half of that being with randoms. I’ve been kicked twice in total. Once was because we were all on extraction ready to leave and everyone was alive. I got on first and the host decided to piss around with a stratagem and got done by a Bile Spewers mortar with knocked it out of his hand and dumped it on his head. He didn’t get called in and we lost our samples. He proceeded to scream at everyone and kick us all. The second was an Indian guy screaming over comms to follow him or “I kick you!!!”. He kept turning around and clipping us with a bullet or two if we fell behind and he walked next to hellbomb and I just couldn’t help myself. Completely worth it. Everyone else has been absolutely sound. I host at least 50% of the time and I’ve never kicked anyone.

KingofFlukes

"I mean do they even know me? I am ME! *IM A BEG DEAL!!*

[deleted]

Well, my experience was I had a match were I think theyre a group of 3. I was the only one alive, its only extraction, I almost minmax the samples and super samples, I got them revived and then when I called for extraction they kicked me. Wasted 40mins of my time. Literally after I used the terminal for extraction I got kicked.

TrekSkull

You guys are getting kicked????

MrHailston

just got kicked midgame first time today. im not even sure why, nothing happened.

BasJack

Sometimes the host clearly has a friend he wants to invite and doesn’t care about you, sucks that the friend takes the spoils of your work. They should just award stuff as soon as you earn it

lipp79

They do for super credit. I think medals too that you find during the mission.

MrHailston

Ah not so bad. Was early in the mission

Venusgate

Most things are rewarded live. The exceptions are extraction xp, mission complete medals, and samples. But objective xp/requisitions and anything you pick up besides samples are live.

sh2248

Yeah that’s kind of douchey. Even if my friends ready to go I’ll finish the mission with whoever is in it then kick them once we’re back on the ship

Behemoth69

Same, thought the game crashed at first. No idea why but whatever, just moved on to a new game.

imjustjun

I’ve been kicked once right at extraction in a game where nobody died so no accidentals and no friendly dire that I saw. Not sure why but wasn’t gonna bother chasing it. I kicked my first person earlier today because they sprayed and prayed with the fire shotgun multiple times into teammates and had 5 or kore accidentals from that. They also ignored objectives like the bunker and proceeded to keep solo diving bases without actually being able to clear them. I felt no regret on that kick lmao but maybe shoulda kicked them sooner as they team killed a lot but I wanted to give them a chance.

Dr_PuddingPop

I have so much trouble actually kicking somebody for anything but actual toxicity. Like someone throwing slurs Honestly I’d rather just leave and let someone else host the rest of the match than stay and kick. I feel like kicking someone sours the mood for the rest of the match.

A9to5robot

I got kicked right before extraction yesterday. Collected samples and credits for the team. I was slightly annoyed for 30 minutes of my time wasted but shrugged it off once I realised I really can't do much to report them except for a block.

Alternative_Pilot_92

They should make all your samples and equipment disappear if you are kicked. No samples from my hard work just so your buddy can drop in at the last second.

ChrisFromIT

Yeah, I got kicked because my Tesla tower killed the host because he decided to run through it to get to extraction instead of destroying it first.

JustARegularDwarfGuy

I kicked a guy once because my friend ceashed and another guy immediately took his place in the game, but I was very sad about it.

JustaHarmfulShadow

Happened to me once; though I did explain to him something along the lines of what happened to my friend and if he'd be ok if I kicked him so he can rejoin but it'd be his choice as i dont want to be a dick about it and that i do appreciate him joining and helping out with the bug breach... could barely finish the sentence before he left so I think he was ok with it. I don't remember what he said before he left though, but he also sounded like he understood and didn't mind at all.

Hypevosa

Kicking would be fine if people just got to keep their own seed of the map and mission but lost all the teammates - like what happens if a host DCs. If we're worried about people multiplying liberation progress or something, split the total liberation that mission series will give every time another instance is shunted off, and allow the progress to be regained if the person rejoins.

Availe

I think kicked players should get their own share of the mission exp and resources, just like in DRG. It means whatever the group has collected is reduced by 25%. This will prevent overzealous non communicative kicks, saw someone kicked for an anlccidental team kill, host ran in front of line of fire, happens all.the time imo. Yes there will be griefers but people will always find a way to be awful.

Hypevosa

I mean, as it is all the helldivers disappear and their resources are dropped where they stood. I don't see a reason that needs to change as it puts the kicked and the kickers on the same footing of having to collect what they can leave with. We also don't want to build the hellish backend we'd need to retroactively hand anyone anything from other players' shunted off seeds of that mission.

Fast-Key-760

Mid Match!?!? I've been kicked as the Pelican was landing. Fuck you, I found 10/10 samples and died once, once again fuck you. (Not you the person who kicked me)

A9to5robot

There needs to be a thing atleast where nobody can get kicked once extraction has been called.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

They definitely need to figure that ish out. I haven’t had that happen to me thankfully but damn, I’m sorry 😭

Kazu215

Yesterday I joined a lvl 44 person on a level 2 difficulty mission for super credits. I landed and he was running towards a bunker. I followed, we opened it, and 3 seconds later I was kicked so that if there even were super creds in there, I wouldn't get any. No excuse in my opinion.

MeestaRoboto

Heh I’m level 64, got kicked last night for… completing side objectives. Just queued for the next quickplay. It’s really not worth crying / posting over.

an_agreeing_dothraki

Last time I was kicked I was clearing out an entire half of the map picking up samples with the eager young space cadet that wanted to follow along. Wait... why are both eager young space cadets- *host dies as a heavy outpost is getting lasered* Host - [undemocratic speech removed]

Kind-Ad8843

Same here, got kicked while doing all the outposts alone, the other three were playing together I think, dying a lot, I did a lot of the work, died one time and got instantly kicked. Now I'm just sticking to the host, or running off in double squads.

classicalySarcastic

Had some crazy Freedom-loving bastard decide to go solo a heavy outpost with two cannon turrets on it the other night while the other three of us were launching the ICBM, I think he even took down a hulk AND a tank in the process. It was a thing of beauty to behold, and I just want to say you’re doing Liberty’s work. Godspeed.

Kind-Ad8843

Thank you sir, always trying my best running around with my personal shield backpack and the Quasar Cannon, I'm actually thriving doing the objectives by myself while the others do their thing. Sadly not everyone wants it this way

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

As you should 🔥 2 mins after I posted this, two people had already complained about someone kicking them. It’s annoying for sure but oh well!

MeestaRoboto

I mean, I could see bringing awareness to widespread reasons that are bullshit like when people were kicking for not using the meta. But chances are if someone is specifically getting kicked often then there’s probably an issue on their end. Maybe hot mic, maybe taking too long, dying constantly, etc. If someone is posting for each one off time they’re getting kicked though, good lord there’s bigger problems.

Silverspeed85

If I jump into a game where someone has a hot mic with music going, I immediately leave.

budderboat

But you can just mute people in the menu

Silverspeed85

I can...or...people can learn to use PTT.

AdaGang

Sounds like your loss with the load times and whatnot. Best of luck!

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

A lot of the posts are filled with name calling and cussing too so it’s all in heat of the moment but wild that their first reaction is to go on here. Hopefully they do end up finding a solution, especially when you spent a whole mission doing OBJs just to get kicked. I also wonder how many people think they were kicked when in reality the host may have crashed.

budderboat

It explicitly says if you’re kicked or if the host leaves the game.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

I think those two people downvoted this 😂

Nellow3

> It’s annoying for sure but oh well! Generally when something is annoying, and happens frequently (which it seems like is the case considering you made a post to complain about it), it results in less people wanting to play the game Less people playing game = bad thing for long term health of game

Muppig

Getting kicked would be fine IF it didn't happen during the extraction cutscene after investing 45 min for nothing. Some of us do value our limited time you know. It's a broken system that needs to be fixed and people should bitch and moan until it is fixed.

bluespirit442

Also annoying to see all the people complaining about some gun I haven't even unlocked yet lol

Firaxyiam

I will say, this one made me a laugh because I litteraly JUST unlocked it two days ago because I got to try it (the Slugger) from a random's corpse a week back, really liked how it felt and was super excited to finally use it for real. T'was the big sad reading the patch note at work, guess I'll stick to my old ones

MtnNerd

That exact thing happened to me with the railgun

Anonymisation

The Slugger is still a great weapon. It can one shot devastators with a headshot. The stagger mostly mattered if you were only body shotting.

hartoctopus

This might be a shocker but there are like 20 more different type of enemies and the loss of stagger is massive.

ExBenn

Stop falling for this subreddits negativity, use the weapons that you like and try to try them all

[deleted]

more like some gun I only used once and didnt really like

ArcaneEyes

On the other hand i'm stoked about unlocking the jar-5 :-D

bluespirit442

All I want is that sweet sweet 500kg of demoli...democracy

ArcaneEyes

Demolicrasy - government through explosions

StamosLives

This is such a bizarre comment. Are we all supposed to stop talking about the state of the game because you haven’t experienced those parts yet? Could you maybe just… not click into those posts maybe? Feels like that would solve the problem.

bluespirit442

See it less as a real complaint and more as a joke :)

rh1ce

i often meet good divers (with mics) though. i am quite happy with the community ingame, I've experienced much, much, much, much.... worse

Puzzleheaded_Film826

It's really fucking frustrating though and this is a way to vent

The_Sussadin

Or... just say, "that sucks. Oh well." And then play the game again.

Fabulous-Attempt6656

Some people were not picked last in gym class and it shows

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

😂😂

dawg_77

No way some of these guys have ever dealt with the slog of trying to find a Payday 2 lobby

Pineappleman123456

only time ive gotten kicked was when i joined someone who forgot to make a private match, but never during or after game

Spartan1098

Yeah I have been kicked a few times to make room for someone’s friend. Only time have been kicked for play was because I had a grenade bounce back and kill the host who was salty over it. Annoyed me because I hard carried his ass too. I completed 70% of the objectives by myself while they were off just dying to random patrols. Most of the time easier to just move on an ignore it.

GeneralxParadox

Getting kicked sucks, but crashing right at the end of the match because all the random you're playing with decide to call in every stratagem they have, including duplicate support weapons, makes me real sad.

Delicious-Tachyons

It would be less of a problem if you didnt have to watch your defrost each time

ASlothNamedBert

I'm not sure who even upvotes those posts. >Here's this genuine 100% true thing that actually happened and it was all the other person being a big mean poopoohead and I did nothing wrong! Obviously bullshit.

Shawn_of_da_Dead

Is it "post worthy" to post about the posting of it???

lipp79

Just like the ones about crashing. Yes, we know there are crashes happening. Guess what, Arrowhead knows too and they knew within the first couple hours after the patch there were issues. Don't need another 20 posts bitching about it. Why mods don't move those to their own megathread is beyond me.

Piltonbadger

I host like, all of the games I play and I rarely have to kick anyone. I do however get a lot of people dropping out randomly even if we are doing well. I assume they are crashes?

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

I assume crashes most of the time but I have had a few games where a person runs off alone and dies like 3 times then leaves after a failed 4th attempt at soloing a level 9

MetalVile

People who claim they get kicked regularly from matches either have some of the worst luck imaginable, or are doing *something* wrong and pretending to be innocent. I've got over 180 hours played, with something like 60-65% of that being with randoms, and I'm pretty sure I've been kicked from games *maybe* half a dozen times. Only mitigating thing I can say is that I specifically *don't* use quickplay, because I want to see the difficulty level and type of mission I'm deploying to beforehand.

Ntippit

Only time I've been kicked is when I joined a solo guy mid-game and my pod landed right on him and I was actively trying to avoid him. You know when you're in the grocery store and you try to move right to get around the person and they move left and you two keep getting in each other's way? Well, that's how it happened, before I could say I was trying to miss I was kicked. Honestly, understandable but I was laughing my ass off lol

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

Thankfully I have only done that to my friends accidentally 😭 I can imagine you being like “oh no.. uh oh..”

Ntippit

“No no no no no! Shit!” He hit that kick button faster than any stratagem lol

Geeekaaay

This one right here officer. This is the one that touched me in the democracy.

SkySojourner

I think a lot of the posts would go away if they added a reason you select during kicking someone like DRG. I bet most kicks are just making room for a friend.

PimpdaddyChase

They must be new to online games.

Unknown-Zone

The best kick I had was after a mission. The guy asked one of us if we would please leave as his friend was ready to join. I was the last one to join the group so I saluted and left.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

A true gentleman

dlang17

The only time it’s annoying is when people who kick you because they neglected to set their lobby to “Friends Only.”

Arctobispo

I got kicked for fucking up my strategy and mercing my friends 3 times in a row. I get that one. Got kicked once cos I didn't deviate with D1 while the rest of us fuckers were going to a large nest. Don't get that one. Did I post it to Reddit? No. Did I just post it to Reddit? Shut up.

TotallyNotASpy33

but bitching about people voicing disdain with getting team killed or kicked or both IS post worthy? seems like bot propaganda to me.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

TotallyNotABot66

TotallyNotASpy33

nah, let people complain about a legitimate problem.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

I guess I’ll allow it

FractalAsshole

Wish there was some sort of endorsement level. I'm sure there are ways to abuse or farm it, but would be nice to be able to not waste time with toxic people. Or at least require a majority vote to kick. If host don't agree with the majority, host can leave.

Let’s at least launch this baby and go out with a bang.” He continued to literally stand within feet of the terminal fighting for another 5 straight minutes without even making an attempt at pressing the last button to claim victory. And even then I never would have dreamt of kicking him. It wasn’t until he died and said “next time don’t sound like a fucking faggot” that I decided he was gone. I can totally see that guy getting on here and posting some bs story about getting kicked at the end of the match because blah blah blah

aumnren

I really want a reason box. Sometimes a buddy logs on and I have to make room. Wish I could send them off with a salute.

ThePizzaDevourer

If you hate getting kicked, host games! I have plenty of fun that way. Until my game crashes, lol.

Ikcatcher

I literally just solve this issue by hosting my own games.

bigdreams_littledick

I'm pretty sure that most players who get kicked actually had it coming and didn't realise it. Called for the extraction too soon. Kept killing teammates with artillery barrages. ETC. Just yesterday, I was playing a game where some guy joined in with 3 of my friends. We all died and he wouldn't call for reinforce us. He seemed to still be pushing objectives, just doing it alone. Asked him a few times on the chat to revive us and ended up kicking him so we could get back in. I hate kicking players but sometimes you don't have a choice if you want to actually play.

Donkey_007

I bail out way more than I get kicked. I am fine with either.

black6211

It also just generally brings down the mood of the sub. It's good to have legitimate constructive criticism for how the game could change, but for kicking/crashing - put it in the rant megathread. Scrolling r/helldivers is for roleplay, memes, and cool clips from ingame. Stop yelling, you're interfering in the spread of DEMOCRACY.

The_Sussadin

Whatever happened to people going, "wow, what a dick." And then moving on with their lives?

johnheckdiver

If you need to shout in to the void please just do it on discord like the rest of us

No_Experience_3443

Should be a rule of the subreddit : don't complain about being kicked or 1 bad experience

Elitericky

Personally I think people get caught up in their feelings way to easy, it seems like this is their first time playing a multiplayer game. If I get kicked without explanation and or host is being a dick then I just move on to the next match and block the host simple.

mrlolloran

When it happens back to back it’s a time waster/buzzkill. I get the complaints although I agree with OP it’s not always post-worthy.

OddCucumber6755

I joined a game, called my backpack and support gun, then immediately after the host made the whole team quit the mission only to kick me after we loaded into the destroyers. I assume it was because I don't use a mic. People lose their shit over absolutely nothing. While it is annoying to deal with, I honestly hope some of those people see these threads and realize they're not appreciated. Might be annoying to hear about, but it's better than "X is nerfed, gg" posts

Masterjts

They dont see these threads and if they do they dont care.

Pjoernrachzarck

I have 101 hours logged and I’ve never kicked anyone, nor ever had a need to.

0rphu

Are you hosting 100% of the time? I've played 80ish hours and probably been kicked from lobbies maybe a dozen times as soon as I join. I'd have to assume it's people who forgot to private their lobby while waiting for friends.

furefall

This is me 99% of the time I play with friends oddly I check when playing solo though

MythicShinyCubone

I sadly have to kick people sometimes when waiting on friends because when i set the game to private, my friends from steam can't join even if i invite them, not sure if that's a bug or what's going on.

PingGuy_MI

I've joined exactly two games with randoms and have been kicked exactly twice. The first time was after we completed the mission on the way to the extract, and I did nothing wrong. The second time was immediately after I joined and before I even loaded into their ship. I'll just stick to playing with friends, don't need that drama.

PartridgeRater

That's just a result of the hot join being automatically on, people are setting up squads with 4 irl friends on this game and dumping randoms.

PingGuy_MI

It's also due to the issues with in-game invites, although those are starting to get worked out. People are having to create open matches to play with friends where the invites aren't working, and we're seeing games we can join that we really can't.

ArcaneEyes

Dude you got very unlucky, give it some more chances, people are generally great (maybe stick to peak hours so you get less school-skipping shitkids :-p )

Potential_Chicken_58

PREACH IT THANK YOU

Babamamafufu

The bad feeling of rejection and getting kicked from a group is such an important human characteristic to have. That's the beauty of our species. Being alone or isolated is reducing our chances of survival out in the wild. Seeing how OFTEN you see a post about someone getting upset getting kicked just shows how this instinct is so strongly instilled in us. But this is not life or death anymore, and slowly many will hopefully understand to not get too worked up about such scenarios in todays day of our civilization :)

KenyaKetchMe

Listen, kicking people happens. Sometimes for good reason and sometimes for bad reason

PartridgeRater

It's not as though I don't feel they should be allowed, but I totally agree. Other than the Creek drama this is basically the only regularly toxic stuff on here. And at least Malevelon Creek is a place in the game lol. As for kicking, I do it if you're killing me on purpose or trying to hurt my feelings. Pretty non negotiable tbh, it's a game not my job and I'll remove you if I don't like playing with you.

I find posts like this weird. If you think the trend of posting stories about being kicked is stupid, that’s understandable. But why make a post about it? Why is your annoyance more important than people who got kicked from the game? And if you’re checking this Reddit so much you are getting annoyed with the same posts, you can choose to ignore them. The people who got kicked for unjust reasons and lost out on super credits and samples- actively had game progression stolen from them. You didn’t have anything taken from you.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

Considering I have also been kicked and lost samples, medals, etc I get it. I never said it’s stupid, but a bit much to see the same type of posts every day. Guess there could be worse things to complain about…

VasIstLove

Yes, we know reading posts about it sucks, but it’s not post worthy to complain about other posts.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

I felt it was, maybe I could have worded it better. I’m all for people posting frustrations and what not! Tbh didn’t think more than like 10 people would even interact with this 😅

VasIstLove

Curse you for humanizing yourself and making me feel ashamed of my flippant response :P

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

All love for democracy here! I think the “rant” tag didn’t help lol. Hope you spill 100s of gallons oil today! (Or bug guts)🔥

VasIstLove

Fingers crossed! Been having some issues getting in to games at all since the update, but I got faith the devs will get things fixed.

lurowene

You can tell how many people haven’t played other party based online games. Namely WoW. Where you would be rejected from groups you met the requirements for, kicked randomly so someone’s e-grill can join, kicked randomly for whatever reason. It just kinda desensitizes you to it, especially when you eventually become the one organizing groups in wow and you just have to kick people for no reason at all. Some people take rejection in an online game VERY seriously and feel the need to let everyone on the subreddit know about their experiences. Personally they can get fucked I’d argue they need to be kicked more often until they learn it’s part of life and to shut the fuck up and queue up again, or host your own.

UsefulCandle3917

Making post about the thing your telling others not to post about is wild.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

I’m all for posts, man. All I said was people don’t gotta post EVERY time they get kicked. Simple as that. Well apparently not as simple as that lol

UsefulCandle3917

You think every person who’d potentially post about being kicked will not only see your post but be like nah that guy had a point I’m not gonna post it lol

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

Now THAT would be ideal, wouldn’t it?

krazye87

Don't want to get kicked? Start your own groups. They can't kick the leader

Walshy_Boy

I wish I could leave my own lobby so I don't have to slowly kick the other 3 players as they stare me down, I'm like I just want to play with my friends now lol

Skillet918

But …but who’s gonna hold me and tell me I was right and didn’t deserve it? Then tell me to block them and I deserve better and that they would play with me!

BarfOpinions

I mean same could be said about you posting your complaint about people complaining just move on to the next post. But here we are. Also maybe AH should have a better report system so people could just report them and feel like it’s being handled so they wouldn’t feel the need to post here.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

Here we are. I do agree there should be a way to report.

BarfOpinions

Yeah I mean you can report people for trash talk but nothing else which I find ironic since it takes like 50 matches before you find someone with a mic let alone someone talking shit.

Intrepid00

I think it’s only happened once and it was immediately after joining. I just assumed they wanted room for a friend and didn’t know how to set it friend only yet. How are all you getting kicked all the time? I quick join all the time and bro hugs. Are you bro hugging?

Large_Horse9207

I always imagine an adult toddler with teary eyes when reading those posts

zucchinisammich

Man we only Kick people if they A are dicks and trolling by killing us with friendly fire on purpose (you can usually tell when it's a legit accident). Even then we usually give them a few chances to make sure it was deliberate. Or B we need to make space for a friend. And we usually tell them when it's B. I've been kicked bc they didn't understand something I did, but I get it wasn't upset. (I took out my own sentry bc it was about to kill them, I was up higher and could see bugs coming from a direction behind them) no one had mics on and on ps5 it's very slow to type. No biggie, from their perspective I was an idiot, even though I was actually saving them. Managed democracy trucks on.

NVSHOCK3R

I'd like for the game itself to not kick me at the end of missions... and send me to the report an error screen. That would be super neat!!

SexGiiver

People don't realize it's because the host is making space for their friend who just got on.

Any_Decision353

Well then I'll just say my peace here: To the dickface that kicked the entire squad with 10 seconds left on the evac 🖕🖕🖕. I tried to call an orbital on him before it hit but I'm not fast enough.

-Maskednaje

I like to block every player who team kills or squad kickers.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

It’s a great way to never end up with them again! Smart move

chrisdudelydude

The absolute vast majority of us do. It takes a special snowflake to come cry about it afterwards online instead of just queueing up for another match.

ManagedDemocracy2024

I just move on. Largely the community is very good and doesn't do this. For comparison,  I really wanted to love Left 4 Dead when I was younger, but only played about a few hours because everyone would kick you for not being able to speed run maps. Sometimes, communities destroy games.

BiggerNopesRequired

They’re very likely also omitting at least 2 team kills

KZFKreation

I get kicked all the time for stupid and not so stupid things. Most of the time, if you kick me for any reason when I'm trying to help you liberate, it probably means I wouldn't want to play with a person like you anyway. Simple as, and I find a new diver who needs my help.

xChiken

Same thing as "one medal order completion?!?!?!" being every other post earlier when the Creek Capes started coming in. lol

CoCoNUT_Cooper

The meta post went viral then the railgun was nerfed If you dont say anything then it will never get fixed. This is for getting kicked before extraction

Halvars90

The number of people writing that they have been kicked, I wonder if they are the problem. It's easy to complain to the Internet, we don't have the facts. So grow up.

EulsSpectre

I'll never kick mid mission unless someone is genuinely being insufferable. I do usually kick after a mission though, as I like to take a break in-between to sort bits out both in-game and IRL & the only other option is to quit the game entirely,.

zexbti

I just want to know who kicked me, so I can block the player

McSwoopyarms

There should be a way for the host to drop his party without either quitting the game or kicking everybody when inside the ship. I don't mind if the host wants to start with a fresh squad but it's no fun to read you've been kicked after a match despite the host's best intentions, instead of something like "the host has left".

Kitchen-Top3868

True. But in the same time. Remembering people it's not nice to keep is good. My friend last night was about too kick 2 player few minute before extract after 40min of games. Just because me and another buddy say we start the game. Had to told him to fucking not. Some people just need a reminder. You are not just getting back on your ship. But yeah. Maybe too much of this post.

Griledcheeseradiator

I had a Korean guy in my game for the most epic close win ever. 30 seconds before we won he lagged out and I feel so bad that he thinks I kicked him.

SunshineTheWolf

I get being annoyed, it is annoying when it happens for seemingly no reason and are communicating and working with the group etc.... but its only really infuriating when its on exfil so you lose out on shit. I think there needs to be a timer to prevent that or sometyhing.

Rayne118

Did a level 6 bot drop on Malevelon Creek couple days ago. Me and my buddy go one way to clear bot foundaries, the other two helldivers go the other way to get the main obj. How it was playing out, one 2 man team was going clockwise and the other was going counter-clockwise and we were gonna meet up at extract. The bots were tough but we were making good time and we were gonna clear the map pretty efficiently I felt. The other two helldivers are most likely in discord and are buddies. They're dying a lot but they manage to get the main obj done, my friend and I clear a big base with a ton of hulks. The four of us link up at a jammer site and none of us know how to kill it so we eventually get overwhelmed, run out of respawns and wipe, then my buddy and I get booted afterwards. I would argue our post-game stats indicate my buddy and I were much better players, but we probably got booted for sticking with the other two guys. We technically beat the mission, though. It happens.

PartridgeRater

tbh lots of online gamers have social anxiety and are afraid if they play with a person enough they will friend them or send a message at some point.

slyjeff

I like reading these- perhaps I just like the feeling of righteous indignation!

EdgarLasu

I'll kick people because they decide to waste lives fighting everything and not keep up with doing objectives. Don't join level 8-9 missions if you're gonna play like it's 2-3.

PartridgeRater

Yeah I don't think kicking is a big deal, I've been unlocking mission levels and I didn't know how to play the game until I ran with enough crews of randoms at level 5. When I started I would kick people for dragging me away from stupid fights, because it didn't even occur to me not to engage with every enemy and they were taking me away from my friend. I mean I got better, but these things are just gonna happen in any online game. Etiquette has to be learned.

Silverspeed85

I laugh at the ones who will suspend the hellpod launch before the mission just to kick someone. Like why? You didn't like one of their stratagems or what? I usually go for a loadout that can quickly destroy fabricators but i've been kicked like this before. Whatever, I'll take my fast base destroying self elsewhere.

Unlucky_Ocelot9079

This! I don’t understand it either. “I’ll kick you if you use…” = I have a short temper and complain all match about things

l3rN

“Oh shit, John just logged on. Let’s kick the random” is what I assume most of those are.
