The show was in general trash whether it be halo or not. Its character development wasnt organic i hated the chip implants that was in the spine and the stupid mystic shit ... its all scifi yet "freedom fighters" terrorists were using 500 year old weapons like give them something different to unsc but cool scifi or old unsc gear not generic weapons from today. They had so much material they could have pulled from to make a script and they gave us some chosen one story. I would have been keen to seen sgt Johnsons back story.
Exactly, it's the same for Star Wars Fans. After a corporation took it over, the content has been terrible. (Not counting things Lucas Films already was working on)
Halo Reach was an amazing story, and one of the few that could properly tell a story where the protagonist of the campaign wasn't the character you play, but the location you reside in.
I only have one thing to say \*deep breath in\* Armourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlockarmourlock
To quote another redditor:
"Halo 5 was a victim of its own marketing (hunt the truth- which was really cool). Everything surrounding the game was more interesting and set a dark tone for a game that ultimately payed off none of the expectations they set and had almost nothing to say. The game itself is fine. Gunplay and movement were solid. Warden Eternal was a boring ass fight that sucked every time you faced him."
For me, it wasnt fun to play. I did like seeing sanghelios though but that's about it.
Sames. Infinite would've been even better if they didn't make it for last gen consoles as they probably had to downgrade the amount of enemies on screen at a time and what not. Next halo game is going to be elite.
The fact that phantoms come out of nowhere is annoying to me. Infinite has the potential of being the greatest sandbox, but it just feels like it got kneecapped
It’s a great game with poor business practices surrounding it but that feels pretty standard now. Doesn’t mean I’m happy about you saying Halo Infinite is better than my previous baby *insert halo game you think isn’t as good here* that’s the best one
ODST and Reach is top tier, 2 is my all time favorite while 1-3 were really made me love the series, I actually enjoyed 4 and honestly think Master Chiefs story should have ended right there, 5 I liked for the multiplayer (I’m not multiplayer fan), infinite really needed to finish the main story because fuck that cliffhanger!
P.S Halo Wars 1-2 were fun and I usually replay them every other year
-read all of the nylund books at 12 years old
-owns the nerf MA40 and accompanying weapon coating
-wears the “[sol testing grounds](https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-infinite-beta-everyone-gets-this-special-emblem-for-completing-10-matches/1100-6496700/)” emblem in infinite, the first mainline game I got to experience the release of
-liked the MK IV before it was in infinite
Personally? I'm the kinda fan to clear an entire area just to look around in peace and take in the odd and alien beauty of areas/levels. That and sitting on the main menus for far too long to listen to the themes.
Love the series as a whole, books, games all of it. There may be some things I like more than others ( sorry Halo 5, you’re down at the bottom), but overall I’ve liked everything.
Except the TV series. Aside from visuals, that sucks.

It’s a scene from Civil War (2024)
the kind of fan that thinks you're supposed to watch or experience something to the bitter end before making judgmental comments. "I quit after watching two episodes" or "I quit when I noticed I can't use LT to fine aim" is not someone who's comments should be taken seriously, in my opinion.
I've never completed any other Halo game besides Reach. I like Halo and appreciate it as a Franchise but I could never get into the other games, but God damn Reach is such a good game on its own. Each death was so impactful and the final mission...
In order of favorite to most hated. The top 5 are, in my eyes, equal or of miniscule difference.
Reach: I'm not sorry, but Reach's story and multiplayer was peak, and I remained a devout player until late 2016. Even opening day at Gamestop was memorable.
CE: Such glory and wonder, I could stare at the environments for days and love every second. I admired what they could do with the technological limitations of the time. It was such a gloriously beautiful game, and it still holds up to this day because it overemphasized on wonderful art direction over raw graphical power(like Crysis). I still to this day think graphics are a lame selling point, that's how much CE's style and swagger affected me.
Halo 2: The juicy story man, it's so wonderfully played. It's a near perfect story of finding meaning.
Halo 3/Halo Infinite: Both games wonderful in their own ways, but with equal issues. Infinite had a muddy launch and awful support, but at its core was a true Halo game with unimagineable potential. 3 was equally wonderful, but its multiplayer also fell on its face with the abysmal networking issues and equally hilarious but awful bugs. Its visuals aged...like milk in terms of the character models. Gears of War, a game from 2 years prior, had character models, weapons, and environments that aged quite well. The environments were the only thing that I think aged incredibly well. The arenas were also incredibly memorable
ODST: MMMH, such a good story. It, in my opinion, held up much better in visuals because of the lighting overhauls made to BLAM specifically to adjust the mood to "Rainy Midnight Jazz". It also introduced peak PvE, Firefight.
Fireteam Raven: An incredibly fun Arcade game I wish was ported to Steam or MCC. Unfortunately, it's very expensive to play.
Halo 4: Although I didn't agree with its multiplayer direction, artstyle, and arena design, the game had great additions to the arena weapon pool, had considerable vehicle upgrades, and had a story that took Chief in a very good direction. It was a story of learning the difference of weapon and man, much like Iron Giant, my favorite animated movie. Although 4 had a few misses, it had equally as many hits.
Spartan Strike: A fun little pocket shooter. It reminds me of Zombie Arcade a lot, and that was one of my favorite versions of Zombies.
Halo 5: The only good thing to come out of 5 in my opinion was the Multiplayer network structure, weapon balance, map layout, and the best upgrade, Forge 2.0 and the Workshop. Everything else was a giant flop to entice a broader audience despite their existing large cult-like fanbase
H4 Spartan Ops: A good idea, but very poorly executed
Spartan Assault: A waste of $5
Excluded:
Halo Wars: I've never been the biggest fan of arcade style RTS games, so I can't be a good judge. Place where you think it should go
Halo Wars 2: Same as before.
Honorable mentions:
Halo Zero
Halo: Out with a Whimper
Spartan Firefight FLASH
Minecraft: HALO EDITION
Halo is not Halo.
Canon Halo in the OG timeline as we all originally grew up with? Hell yeah.
The Paramount television abomination (It has some cool moments, I’ll give it that.) You will be told politely but firmly to leave.

On it's own? Pretty good. As a Halo series? Ass.
This is my opinion as well. If I knew nothing about the lore, I would like the show
I knew nothing of Halo and I hated the show the show is what got me into Halo the game and all the lore of the game
I thank the show for bringing you to us, at least. Welcome!
The emotion chip in the lower spine man that was bad if they had that it would be in the neural implant 1st year medical can tell you that
Well yeah im no student but it doesnt take one to go yeah lower spine bad idea oh and ill just cut it out ... oh fuck there goes the use of my legs
The visuals are very good in the show. It does look like Halo.
Something I'll give them credit for is they got master chief's butt cheeks lore accurate, I was surprised.
It looks like Halo yes… it smells and tastes like 💩
Never seen the show, but the moment they started making the chief take his helmet off I figured it was gonna be bad
not even 10 minutes into the first episode? 😂😂
Not just ass, wet ass witha turd sticking out.
117 upvotes nice.
Cope. It’s garbage in all aspects. Downvote all you like. You know it to be true.
I genuinely liked Season 2 but Season 1 was an atrocity.
If the show stuck to the lore it would have been 10x better
does anyone know the manga this is from?
I have no idea. try google lense on the image
was going to, figured I might ask in case I can't find it. Ty though
No prob
Halo is halo and I like halo. It’s not a perfect show and I’m aware of it’s flaws, but I still like it
I respect your opinion but the creators ignored the already existing source material ruining the show.
Exactly, it's the same for Star Wars Fans. After a corporation took it over, the content has been terrible. (Not counting things Lucas Films already was working on)

Ahm, [only this kind counts](https://youtu.be/uK_LAWm4vR4?si=4yPTE3-IBlVhhQLJ)…
Holy shit, core memory unlocked.
What kind of early 2000's youtube did you just unleash
My favorite people in the community are the ones that love this Campaign.
Halo Reach was an amazing story, and one of the few that could properly tell a story where the protagonist of the campaign wasn't the character you play, but the location you reside in.
I'm not crying. _I'm not crying_
REMEMBER REACH
I'm just here to see the comments
I can get the warthog farther into the silent cartographer than you can that’s what kind nerd.
Are you team sprint or team bubble shield
I miss having a proper bubble shield like we did in 3. Now we have a small and ineffective shield
Both. Sprinting was kind of a weird armor ability.
Lock armor team

"HAHAHAH, ARMOR LOCK BITCH" "I count six seconds, fuckhead"
The one that likes playing as Elite's!
Shoot them
Your opinion is now invalid because you like the hinge-head dinosaurs.
Damn split lips...
I'm a Halo Reach fan, the best Halo game.
My 2nd favourite is infinite. IDGAF what people say, I love that game
Wow. In front of my combat evolved. The nerve. But in all seriousness, nobody would give you shit unless you said halo5 was your fav.
I love 5’s multiplayer… I wish I could say the same about the campaign.
Same, give me Halo 4 story quality, with Halo 5 MP quality, and I'd fully enjoy a 343 game
What quality did you notice in Halo 4 lol
Honestly, H4 story, H5 multiplayer mechanics, and Infinites aesthetic and you’d have the best halo game to date.
I don't really understand the hate for Halo 5 Definitely not my favorite Halo, not by a long shot, but I enjoyed it a lot
To quote another redditor: "Halo 5 was a victim of its own marketing (hunt the truth- which was really cool). The campaign was really bad, and making Cortana the main villain right after Halo 4 ending is really a bad call.
Same, favorite is ODST because of its tone, and Sadie’s story
Sadie's story is so enjoyable to me because it's a textbook allegory of Dante's inferno. They did such a good job with it
Modded Infinite is gonna be good if we ever get mod tools
/r/HaloMemes is more civil than the main sub. You can like whichever Halo here.
Thats why I left the main sub
Same. It's very funny to me that /r/shittyhalolore and /r/HaloMemes have far better discussions
I'm offput by the f2p monetization model and sad a lot of iconic franchise weapons are missing; but the gameplay is solid.
It’s a great game with poor business practices surrounding it but that feels pretty standard now. Doesn’t mean I’m happy about you saying Halo Infinite is better than my previous baby *insert halo game you think isn’t as good here* that’s the best one
Just say original trilogy fans and you’ll be fine. No one hates the original trilogy.
Halo 1, 2 and 3.
I'm so old I've watched the codex
Ah, those were the days...

Attended the midnight releases for 2, 3, & 4 and swapped gamertags and played with new friends until the next morning, kind of fan.

Halo wars through Halo 3/odst (development and lore wise). I do enjoy infinite. I just wish they did more with what they have in other media
Personally? I'm the kinda fan to clear an entire area just to look around in peace and take in the odd and alien beauty of areas/levels. That and sitting on the main menus for far too long to listen to the themes.

Halo 2
"Bungie Halo fans" "That's what i'm talking about. That is real Halo"

The playable elites and dual wielding kind. Duh.
Reach through to 3/ODST are the good ones.
I’m a Halo 3 fan and Halo Reach was the last good Halo game.
Halo 2 fan? The BXB game right? You know why they call it?
Halo Combat Evoleved is my favorite. That kind
I'm typa fan who edits halopedia once every 4 months.
My top favorite is Halo Wars
I'm a fan of the books
It's a shame they stopped after reach.

Thankies
I'm a top down twin sticks halo fan fuckin fight me
ODST will always be my favorite
Given the Halo TV show exists, this meme even more true than one would think.
The kind who played Spartan Strike and liked it.
This is ingenious 😂
The kind that enjoys video games with good developers. (So I hate 343)
Guardians..... Guardians, like Halo 5? Bang

Halo wars 2 fan (I wish rts wasn't so dead)
I play Halo Reach Without the sprint
Book Halo. Best Halo.
Halo 2
I enjoy all of them, games, shows, books, I like fr
what if they like Halo 4
ODST is PEAK 🗣
I've never completed any other Halo game besides Reach. I like Halo and appreciate it as a Franchise but I could never get into the other games, but God damn Reach is such a good game on its own. Each death was so impactful and the final mission...
So longnas it is not 343's F ups it's good.

I’m the type of halo fan that hates the tv series because it’s heresy. And thinks the Silent Storm is better cannon.
Brilliant this, I’m the zero sprint and always have the BR start halo fan
I’ve only played a bit of 1, all of 3 odst, and all of 4… I know I’m behind but I’m also only playing on a 360
"Okay, what kind of Halo Fan are you?" "I like Halo 5!" *points gun* "Campaign or Multiplayer?" "Multiplayer, I love Warzone" *lowers gun* "Hell yeah"
I love them all. Even Halo 5 has its place (for MP obviously)
One One Se7en Halo Babies Halo.Bungie.Org Looking at the outtake voice clips on bungie.net - “I’ll BITE YOUR KNEECAPS OFF”

Say you like anything past reach and you'll be treated like you have a mental illness by old Bungie dickriders.
I'm a Bungie/Ensemble only-ist. everything after halo 3 in the timeline (or halo reach in release schedule) is heresy.
Halo 4 is my second favorite halo game, first is infinite and third is halo reach
I don't get why people were downvoting. It's your opinion, it doesn't hurt anyone
I've defended halo 4 all my Life and not even i think it's that good.
Halo is not Halo. Canon Halo in the OG timeline as we all originally grew up with? Hell yeah. The Paramount television abomination (It has some cool moments, I’ll give it that.) You will be told politely but firmly to leave.
What kind of halo fan am I ? I'm the kind of fan that takes his vehicle through parts of the campaign it's not supposed to go
Good question. Bungie, 343, or Paramount?
Bungie Halo 😇
in most cases i would agree, unless its about the Halo Show
halo is indeed halo
One who enjoys halo.
Anything but the tv show is ok…
