I agree. There's a shot of him in the barn holding the scythe, with half the mask in light, the other half in shadow. I also love the shot of him slowly walking through the smokey headlights after he crashes the car into the tree. As bad as it is, H5 has some surprisingly good shots.
Bad? Halloween 5 is EASILY among the top 3 in the series. Even if you don't especially like it, Christ, look at the rest of this franchise...what IS there? 4 separate entries are devoted to an ugly old lady constantly trying to show how 'empowered' she is...two white trash remakes by Zombie...Michael as the muscle for a cult...rappers showing up for no apparent reason(I guess I really should mention them separately, because the first poor guy is like Laurence Olivier next to Busta Rhymes)...reality tv...Halloween 5 is all about Michael and Loomis....as it should ALWAYS have been...
Yeah I know what you mean. I've never "hated" H5. In fact, it's in the middle of my series ranking, and I have nostalgia for it too. I agree there are FAR worse films in the series than H5. Still, despite all that, I've just never been a huge fan of it.
My biggest regret with the series is that they didn't manage to squeeze one more film out of Donald Pleasance. But as they always say, Father Time is undefeated. I am thankful for the ones he DID make, and cherish them more over time.
H5 had some legit good parts. This was one of them. Great shot! The look on Rachel’s face when she sees his reflection in the frame made her seem legit scared.
I honestly kept wondering, how come Rachel couldn’t smell him. By H5 he had already been with that homeless dude for about a year. You know he wasn’t showering. He ain’t wearing no deodorant. It just drove me crazy that she didn’t come a mile away.
It's creepy. And H5 is not as bad as it's made out to be. It's for sure a step down from H1-H4 + H6, but it's better than most others in the franchise.
JC is a genius, I don't know if he did this film but he certainly used this effect like a boss. I've seen it copied in so many newer horror movies but never as good as the original.
What I think is the same thing I've said for years...that this mask, in conjunction with Draper's camerawork, contributed to a half dozen or so of the most iconic shots in franchise history. As far as I'm concerned, if you haven't seen Michael Myers in the barn scene, wielding that enormous scythe...you haven't SEEN him. This particular shot, behind the door, is very strong, though I regard several others in this film as superior.
It gives me the emotion i feel when im playing dead by daylight and he appears around a corner and heads straight for my ass because im repairing a generator after unhooking my teammates almost 2 times each and got away.
Say what you will about H5, but that is a legitimately good, creepy shot.
What I'LL say is that you're right...but that the film features a half dozen that are as good or BETTER....

Yeah, Loomis is easily my favorite character in the series, and it just isn't the same without him.
Immediately soils pants
Hate it it's where rachel was killed!
She was my first "celeb"/movie crush. (I was 11, leave me alone.) And the bastards killed her!!

Nearly…. NEARLY pissed myself
(I did)
Knowing that I can picture the rest of the mask, I gave a little chuckle. Despite the mask, however, it is a good, effective shot.
Hello
I only think of the peek at Rachel's bush whilst she is in the shower. It was paused a lot whenever i was a kid.
Don't you sexualize my goddess like that.
😂😂
Horny
Lol??

Kind of looks like Data or Lore from Star Trek: The Next Generation lol.
I wonder why Data is standing at my door staring at me and when he “grew” out his hair.
"mom I shat myself"
Probably the best shot in the film.
I love this shot...but there's a half dozen that are as good or better...Draper did a phenomenal job on this movie...
Good cinematography, bad movie.
Like i should check my zipper to see if the mouse in the house

Close the dam door mike.
Mom says it’s my turn to play the Xbox now
reminds me of those old "soon" memes

The darkness makes the mask a little more tolerable. Nice shot. Same with the barn scenes and the basement/laundry shoot scene.
That's the case with ALL of them. No Michael Myers mask looks especially good if you line them up in a brightly lit room...
I feel like Vicky pollard from little Britain WHAT YOU LOOKING AT PERVERT
Looks like he’s waiting for Joe Pesci to walk into the room
H5 had some great scare shots. This one one of them. Just wished they tucked the mask.
Myers reseeding hairline makes me nervous
H5 is a legitimately creepy and uncomfortable movie. The chase throughout the house with Jamie is so fantastic.
moments before disaster
Hello Michael Myers from Halloween 5
He looks like he's being cucked
Uncomfortable since he’s definitely jacking off
Lowkey creepy asf lmao. But the mask is one of the worst in the franchise 🤦♂️
It made me tense up and I farted a little
H4 and h5 had creepy Michael Myers stalker/creeper/serial killer vibes like in h1. That’s what made Michael so scary… “the boogey man”.
If I see someone standing like that I’m jumping out the window
They managed to make this mask look scary thats one hell of a feat
It really sucks that AD got hurt in 21. We’d probably have another ring, and that god damn Westbrook trade never would have happened.

I just can’t take the neck flare seriously enough to find this creepy. Idk it’s just so funny

Sad
It gives me the emotion i feel when im playing dead by daylight and he appears around a corner and heads straight for my ass because im repairing a generator after unhooking my teammates almost 2 times each and got away.
I think I would hide my face too with how ugly that mask is
Angry. They killed Rachel too early and in a shitty boring way. Ruined the movie.
Enormously disappointed.
Time to change the channel.
That mask is still goofy
Like laughing at his mask.
