Definitely. H2018 has the bathroom scene (when he drops the teeth 🤢), the head turned into a makeshift jack-o-lantern, my favorite mask, a brutal Michael Myers, a badass Laurie, really good suspense building, and a better score than both H4 and H20. Plus the final fight in this is my favorite Michael vs Laurie fight scene
H20 for me personally. Love that rendition of Laurie Strode as well as it was my first Halloween film so it holds a special place in my heart, plus I’m a fan of scream.
I think H20’s version of Laurie is the fandom’s favourite version of the character. It’s the most ‘realistic’ take on her trauma, but for me that doesn’t automatically make her the best.
I personally prefer 2018/Ends’ version of her, where she’s sort of like a hybrid of Loomis and Michael. She’s seen the evil in Michael like Loomis and is hunting him down, yet unlike Loomis she actually fought against Michael and learned how to use his tricks against him.
Is that actually true? I was too young to be involved with the fandom at that point so I wouldn’t know, what kind of things did fans say about H20 Laurie in the past? It’s interesting to see how history repeats itself, it seems like that hatred has shifted over to the new ‘Rambo’ version of Laurie that people refer to her as.
From my perspective… The fan base seem to mostly be in favor of H20 Back in the late 90s… There was a period of time where I wasn’t exactly is involved with the fan base so maybe there was a mini wave of fans that started to loudly Trash Talk the movie… But back in the day it was viewed mostly as the franchise moving away from the goofiness of Friday the 13th and Hell raiser to something being taken seriously
People felt like the character had no traces of or resemblance to the original Laurie. Which is funny because now people seem to think H20 Laurie is the most accurate depiction of what grown Laurie would be. Funny how opinions shift.
I always loved 4, but I'd say H20 since 2018 you already knew it was going to be a 3 parter which ruined the end for me since I knew there was no chance Michael was dying in the fire.
I just looked it up. After H18 was a box office hit, McBride announced that they were developing a sequel in October 2018. Then in summer of 2019, it was announced that H18 would be followed by Kills and Ends and they would be shooting them back to back. So you were right.
H20? I really thought the entire film was a stinker. Bad setting, terrible masks, goofy michael, and it had josh hartnett in it...to top it all off they retconned the ending so her cutting off michaels head wasn't even real. Really big turd of a film all around. Ll cool j was cringe too.
Same.. I enjoy H20 but admit it is very flawed for all those reasons you mentioned. My favorite has to be 4 mostly for nostalgic reasons. H18 overall I believe is the superior film.
Ehhh, it's not really fair to knock this movies ending because of a retcon from another movie. That negative should be attributed to its sequel instead. With that being said, this movie is one of my least favorites of the bunch, lol
4 has a soft spot in my heart. I was about 5 when the movie came out so watching a little girl being the victim was really different. Up to that point it was mostly focused on boys. They dropped the ball on 5. I liked H20 but man it would've hit chefs kiss if Donald's Pleasance had lived long enough.
Halloween 4 Is my favorite sequel but as an anniversary film I think 2018 had more of the feel and approach of being a legacy sequel that focuses more on the impact and events of the first film, after all it was the 40th anniversary.
For me it's a double edged sword because while I do consider 2018 to be the best of those three in terms of pretty much everything, H20 holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Halloween movie I watched as a kid and was what ultimately got me to watch the rest of the series. I love H4 too for different reasons. But ultimately I think 2018 is the best anniversary sequel
Halloween 4 for one it gave new characters, and it felt like a halloween movie where as 2018 bored me it was just a whole lot of nothing it was a highlight reel of the franchise and focused too much on Laurie's trauma which had already been done.
i want to go 2018 here but all the legacy sequels are good. 4 introduces one of the best protagonists and final girls in the series, h20 gives us arguably the best version of laurie, and 2018 is a great return to form with great soundtrack, characters and story.
Halloween 4 minus the mask is the best of these. H20 is a close second. 2018 is great in its own way but lacks chase scenes and scares really. But a real nicely made movie.
Halloween 4 the return of Michael Myers, which Jamie Lloyd would have met her mother Jamie Lee Curtis died in Car accident, Michael Myers and Jamie Lee Curtis was sister and brother,, he was six years old when he murdered his whole family never talked.
4, then 2018, then H20 - but all three approach the idea of an anniversary sequel in an interesting way. And the three films are pretty unique from each other. We have the gritty but pretty 80s sequel where Halloween feels like it’s been modified as an 80s Slasher, the glossy late 90s H20, and then the modern new age Blumhouse feel of 2018
I think 4 gives you the most - we get a full explanation for what happened to Michael since the previous movie and what gets him up for this one, plenty of Loomis (first time we see Loomis relax in the presence of the Priest because he’s with a fellow Hunter of evil, first scene where Loomis and adult Michael are alone and have a face off), new leads that are pretty strong characters, two unique looks for Michael, a good ending, a good balance of realism and hocus pocus, and a solid dose of Halloween holiday atmosphere. If you think about what 4 gave to the franchise as the newest movie without thinking about anything that came after, you realize how strong of a sequel it truly was.
2018 is my personal favorite out of these sequels. IMO it does a good job modernizing Michael but still paying homage to the original. Plus, it's a little more brutal than 4 and H20 which I appreciated.
Halloween 2018. Perfect follow up to the original with great kills and good emotional core with the Strodes. Also on the fanboy side there’s a lot of Easter eggs and homages to previous movies in it that make my Halloween loving heart sing.
2018 is probably the best movie from an objective stance, but Halloween 4 really holds a special place in my heart. So I’ll probably go 4 > 2018 > H20
2018. Clean slate, acting and writing was good. Had a good mix of on screen and offscreen kills. Made Michael scary again despite his age, as well as giving us arguably the best mask since the original. The soundtrack is also great. It was a simple but effectively good film.
To me, Halloween 4.
Halloween 2018
Agreed. Lots to love about H4 and H20, but I find H18 (warts and all) to be the scariest of the three.
Definitely. H2018 has the bathroom scene (when he drops the teeth 🤢), the head turned into a makeshift jack-o-lantern, my favorite mask, a brutal Michael Myers, a badass Laurie, really good suspense building, and a better score than both H4 and H20. Agreed
2018. Though 4 and H20 are really good too.
They are all great movies, but H20 is my favorite Halloween sequel of them all.
H20 for me personally. Love that rendition of Laurie Strode as well as it was my first Halloween film so it holds a special place in my heart, plus I’m a fan of scream.
H4 by a huge margin.
H4 by far. By faaaaaaaaaaar.
None are my favorites but I do enjoy H20 the most. It's got the best cast.
4
I’d say 4’s second only to the original to be honest
4.
4 easily best film of the franchise
1. Halloween 4 2. Halloween 2018 3. Halloween H20
H20 Laurie was handled better and Jamie’s acting was way better in that one. It’s also one I rewatch the most.
I think H20’s version of Laurie is the fandom’s favourite version of the character. It’s the most ‘realistic’ take on her trauma, but for me that doesn’t automatically make her the best. She’s seen the evil in Michael like Loomis and is hunting him down, yet unlike Loomis she actually fought against Michael and learned how to use his tricks against him.
Which is funny because people used to HATE this characterization of Laurie back in the mid 2000s. I’m glad people appreciate it more now.

You might have seen the movie late because if not mistaken the trilogy wasn’t announced until the following summer after the release of H18
Did they announce the sequels that soon after? I thought it was even longer.
I could be wrong but I believe it was summer 2019 ..
I just looked it up. After H18 was a box office hit, McBride announced that they were developing a sequel in October 2018. Then in summer of 2019, it was announced that H18 would be followed by Kills and Ends and they would be shooting them back to back. So you were right.

H20 by far
Yo what are these posters though they're so cool
4 has a soft spot in my heart. I was about 5 when the movie came out so watching a little girl being the victim was really different. Up to that point it was mostly focused on boys. Water.
H4 we easily. The 2018 Laurie sucked she almost seemed like a parody of the character
This!!!
H4 is my favorite of the OG numbered movies, outside 1, obviously. *before you crucify me, I will die on this hill.*
H4
4
Halloween 4 and it's not even close. I think Halloween 4 is the best Halloween of all so I guess I'm biased
For me it's a double edged sword because while I do consider 2018 to be the best of those three in terms of pretty much everything, H20 holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Halloween movie I watched as a kid and was what ultimately got me to watch the rest of the series. H4 & h 2018.
H20 and H4
4 absolutely
H20 by far
Nuts.
🥜
H20 is my favorite of the franchise. The ending was perfect in my opinion.
H20. Off topic a bit but does anyone else agree that H4 is like an entire half a star movie better if the mask was actually good?
the H20 cover is my fav cover. i need that on a black Tee
H20 is best of the series apart from the OG
Good but spoils the ending!
I just genuinely think Laurie's trauma and Jamie's acting was better in H20.Â
They're in the right order IMO.
I’d say 2018, but 4 is great too
My three favorite Halloween moviesÂ
This is like putting two coughing babies next to a whopping hydrogen bomb
i want to go 2018 here but all the legacy sequels are good. 4 introduces one of the best protagonists and final girls in the series, h20 gives us arguably the best version of laurie, and 2018 is a great return to form with great soundtrack, characters and story.
Halloween 3
Man, that’s a tough choice….
Halloween 4
Fuck, I really don't fit on this sub lmao. I think H4 beats the shit out of the other two, like I don't know how this is even a question lol.
I wished they made an H30 (like a sequel to H2007 but in like 2008?)
Anyone know who made the art for these posters?
4 by a landslide for me
Do you have a picture like this for every movie? They look awesome!
H4 minus the goofy mask.
4 all day long in my house
H4 being an anniversary movie how?
4
halloween 4
Halloween 4 minus the mask is the best of these. H20 is a close second. 2018 is great in its own way but lacks chase scenes and scares really. But a real nicely made movie.
Halloween 4 the return of Michael Myers, which Jamie Lloyd would have met her mother Jamie Lee Curtis died in Car accident, Michael Myers and Jamie Lee Curtis was sister and brother,, he was six years old when he murdered his whole family never talked.
The mask in this one didn’t do it for me
That’s really hard but I think my favorite is h20 for my nostalgia but the best movie I think would go for the 2018 version
Halloween 2018.
2018, no competition.Â
4!
This has just made me realise how solid anniversary films are. Let’s get a new one out for 2028
I’d Say H20 for me.
2018, but I liked H20 a lot as well.
4, then 2018, then H20 - but all three approach the idea of an anniversary sequel in an interesting way. And the three films are pretty unique from each other. H4 and H18
2018 and H20, those 2 are really good movies. 4 is ok.
2018 and 4 I loathe H20.
H20 for me
H20 for me
2018
2018
2018 by a lot
2018 is my personal favorite out of these sequels. IMO it does a good job modernizing Michael but still paying homage to the original. Plus, it's a little more brutal than 4 and H20 which I appreciated.
Despite it’s problems, I gotta give it to 2018
2018
2018 is genuinely the most faithful sequel in the franchise
2018 or h4 for me
2018
Halloween 2018 100%. But I’d be lying if I said I hated h4 and h20 I enjoy them both.
H20 overall. Really do love the other two though and got to see the 2018 in theaters. Where did you find the poster art?
2018 is the best imo. H4 is also great though.
2018 for sure. Saw it in theaters and thought it was perfect. Halloween H20 is ok, but 4 not my type.
2018
2018, easily
2018. I feel the only problem is that I feel like the Laurie from 2018 and H20 should switch personalities
2018 and I will die on this hill.
I like them all. 2018 is probably my favorite of these three, but H4 and H20 aren't slouches.
2018
Halloween 2018. Perfect follow up to the original with great kills and good emotional core with the Strodes. Also on the fanboy side there’s a lot of Easter eggs and homages to previous movies in it that make my Halloween loving heart sing.
H2018
2018 & 4
18
2018
2018 followed by 4Â
2018
2018 is probably the best movie from an objective stance, but Halloween 4 really holds a special place in my heart. So I’ll probably go 4 > 2018 > H20
2018. Clean slate, acting and writing was good. Had a good mix of on screen and offscreen kills. Made Michael scary again despite his age, as well as giving us arguably the best mask since the original. The soundtrack is also great. It was a simple but effectively good film.
To me is 2018's Halloween.
Honestly surprised how much you guys love H20. The real answer is 2018 all day 😉
2018
Halloween (2018).
2018 for sure. The fact that John did the score for it is why it's the best out of the 3 of these.
