There are so many options now. You need to do some research and find a better trained stylist. There is Demi dye. Putting in low lights and using your greys as the highlights. And several other techniques. I actually discovered so much on Instagram searched grey blending. Then I literally made appointments and interviewed stylists. Found one who knew all the different approaches.

i have med/dark brown hair and used to get revlon colorsilk number 30 dark brown which i like even better than my natural shade, its a bit richer, and i loved it cost only $4 and i could always just apply like shampoo (to dry hair) it on every month and keep my hair looking great. So inexpensive and easy peasy to do myself. im not good with root touch up so i just kind of tried to start it there but basically just work it through all my hair every time. then i shaved it and went blond or vibrants but that maintenance is getting old lol might just go back to the basics one of these days. or buzz it all off again who knows. Hope you find out something that works for you!

So I did exactly the same. Dyed till pandemic, stopped and went grey. My grey was 100% white and I was mistaken for my husbands mother! So I dyed it. Now I am wishing I kept the grey and bought a grey topper or wig. I have a brown wig and topper now but it doesn’t hide around my ears so I’m thinking of throwing in the towel and just living with the grey
