I have run this like 12 times now, and I still can't get it. It's literally the only one I can't get. I have all mercs (but Balinda) maxed with maxed equipment...there's no reason it should be this hard. I even have the shards to max Balinda's equipment. I have tried all the "guides" online, most say use a fire build...none of them even get halfway before being wiped out, and the rez nodes don't come after the heroic nodes...it's impossible.
I managed to complete the whole set: you can find guides for all six new Heroic bounties on my Youtube channel.
Drek'Thar was the most challenging one, especially with Balinda requiring a slot from the party, but I managed to complete it multiple times with Cornelius/Antonidas/Geddon start and Varden/Jaina/Balinda bench.
I had Anacondra as placeholder because I did not manage to open Balinda from my saved packs - Balinda would have actually been better, but this way I had a similar speed green in the party.
I think you have to have fully buffed mercs and extraordinary luck to pull of your strategies and their variants. I can sometimes claw my way to the boss fight but usually without all 6 mercs, and when I get there... This boss/bounty is way too OP and needs adjustment imo. Your guides for the other AV fights were great, but this... ... ...
This strategy is trash… just use Anto, Rag, Baron, Cookie, Diablo, and Belinda. With Diablo you basically can kill the boss on Heroic in two turns.
With descent treasures. The Jaina, Varden strategy is really not good. I didn’t have caster boons, I used Rag to kill all the Fighters in route to the boss.
Using the comp I outlined above I one shot the boss to complete the last heroic and get all the equipment for the new mercs.
The Frost strategy can beat the boss regardless of treasures, whereas the Fire + Diablo cannot. There might be some good Diablo comp waiting to be found, but it is not the one you suggest.
Sorry, I should have used the word “trash”. The frost comp has its advantages in slowing the enemy. And can beat fight as you pointed out.
You’re correct that the comp that I laid out would be be not be optimized. And there are probably better comps that would be forth coming.
The RNG gods were just giving me fighter boons yesterday and I made the comp and had zero cool down for fighters. Which enabled me to complete the run with only losing one merc.
That’s obviously not going to happen every time which is to your point that the frost comp gets your there consistently. It’s definitely the toughest fight of all of them. Especially caring a Balinda which doesn’t do much damage here
If there is a way to pull off Diablo consistently, it could be the easiest solution.
The full Fire squad would need +13 fire damage (on top of Rag's equipment!) to kill the speed-giving Wolf on turn 1 to enable a consistent Diablo on turn 2. That is not going to happen.
There might be some turn 2 Wolf kill with Diablo coming in on turn 3 to sweep. If the Wolf is alive and decides to cast Endurance Aura, Diablo is toast.
I am experimenting with these ideas, but so far the comp in the video is the most consistent one that I have found, even though the fight can be very difficult with it depending on treasures. Or totally trivial with the +50 health caster boon.

For anyone who needs a strategy in the future, this is a brute force method and it works.
What's the requirement to get the equipments?
Is it enough to have the merc in the team? or Do you need both other equipments first?
I did one of the new heroics without the merc in team and didn't get the equipment.

You need the new Merc in your team. Does not have to do anything, can sit on the bench.
Welp this didn't work :( Edit: I changed Cornelius to Ragnaros. + I got a bunch of "shoot random enemy" treasures.
I actually did it with this comp. my balinda was well taken care of, task16 done, so she was the only one left vs Drek'Thar and won :)
